After seven months using the Ballistic 1.3 I can say these shoes are top in many categories such as durability, comfort, design, stability and breathability. Advise: just use them with "Thorlo level 3" socks. If you do that, go for an extra 1/2 size.

Comments: It's a great shoe. It's every bit as comfortable and playable as my old Asics Gel Resolution 1&2 except the upper isn't very breathable. I developed a blister on my big toe because my feet couldn't stay dry in these things. Looks like the 2.3 fixes that problem. Also, they're just a hair bit more durable than my AGR2 which I wore out in 2.5-3 months. After playing with the 2.3's for 1.5 months, I've almost worn out the right medial toe area and the are under the ball of my right foot is completely smooth with the left shoe trailing just slightly behind.

Comments: These are great. I used to wear the vapor line, but I always burned through them in a few month. These came kind of stiff and felt heavy on the feet. However, after breaking them in and getting used to the weight; about 4 to 5 playing sessions. They become outstanding. They are stable and is fantastic for side to side movement. The best feature of this is the way I feel when I change directions or recover from a defensive shot. The only issue I have with the 1.3 is still is that they don't breathe too well. After a few hours in them they do smell a bit, but it's nothing a bit of febreeze can't take care of. So if you're looking for something that will last you a long time, and also improve your balance around the court, this is a great choice. I can't wait to try to 2.3.

Comments: The first time I went shopping for actual tennis shoes, I narrowed my choices down to the Barricade 5 and these shoes. In the end, I ended up buying the Barricade 5's. Of course the Barricades are awesomely stable shoes but when first comparing both shoes, the Court Ballistecs felt so much more comfortable. I now have a pair of Ballistecs and these shoes are probably the best shoes I have ever worn in my life. I broke them in by walking around school on the first day. In these shoes, the stability is awesome. Around school, the first week back after Christmas, I found myself slipping on the stairs and I caught myself from falling every time. On the court, this shoe has so much action. Reminiscent of Nadal's heavy baseline play, I believe my speed has increased a little bit and sliding is so much easier to do in these than the Barricades. My sliding recovery time is great too when I'm pushing out points. I'm able to spin in my slide and get to the next ball. The only downside with these shoes is the foot pains which come from intense playing. After playing, your feet feel sore and heavy, which is understandable given the intensity of your game but after resting/sleeping, your feet should be ready for game time. My shoe size is a 10.5 and I got a pair in my regular size and it fits perfectly. Again, probably the best athletic shoes ever.

Comments: Right out of the box, the shoe looked really fierce. First used it in summer and it took about 3 hrs to break the shoe in. I went half a size smaller with my toes touching the front. But it stretches in awhile and have no such problems anymore. The uppers are really comfortable and the sole seems to be rather flat and it spreads out getting you as much traction as possible. I especially like the part where some part of the midsole touches the ground. I play mostly in 30+ deg celsius and have no problem with ventilation. The downside is that on the ball of the sole (box looking rubber), one of the box broke off from my sole in just 3 hrs of play. And the shoe actually expanded a little bigger than my feet now. Making me slide a little inside. If I'm honest, its still a great buy. It will almost get full marks from me. With the discount now, even better.

I didn't find these shoes to be half-a-size larger; maybe more like a 1/4, but at that point, what's the difference? (get your regular size in these). These shoes are tanks- they are soft inside but they do feel a bit too sturdy. Court gripping was not an issue for me, but I'd need to try these out in warm weather.

Comments: After wearing these shoes for about 6 hours, they seem to be the best tennis shoes I've had in recent memory. They fit very snug (even for my narrow feet). I was not a big fan of the Breathe Free Series, but these shoes are a little lower to the ground and lighter. Slides a little on hard courts, not a big deal though. Sizing was not an issue. I'm in between sizes 11.5 and 12, 11.5 fits perfectly. So if you're between sizes, choose the smaller option. Break in time was hardly necessary. Walk around in them for ten minutes and they'll be alright on the court.

Comments: I've worn KSwiss for the last year and bought these looking for a longer-lasting outsole. Contrary to TW's advice, these run true to size for my feet; medium arch and slightly wide foot. I've had fit issues with Nikes in the past (too narrow in the forefoot) but the CBs fit really well. The support is great; a low to the ground feel, lateral stability with much more stiffness than my KSwiss, which feel mushy by comparison. On court, the comfort of these shoes is most impressive. They feel light, have great traction and the stiffness makes the shoe and my foot feel like a single unit. I broke them in with a day of casual wear followed by a plyometric/aerobic gym session. Once the creases in the upper took shape, the comfort was great. On the initial wear I felt a bit of heel slippage even though the size was right, but once the uppers got broken in, the issue went away. Ordering a second pair in case they change the fit with next year's version.

Comments: I have had a pair of these shoes since they came out months ago, and I was very impressed with the comfort, mobility, and of course the outstanding cosmetic appeal. The shoe stayed very nice for some time and the durability is close to the top of the list with the barricades. Here is why I will go back to the vapor line: obviously the shoe won't grip as good when the traction wears down, but I thought they became almost slippery on lateral movements on fast hard courts. Also, if you have a higher arch as I do, I would not recommend this shoe as I have developed a pain in the ball of my foot that I didn't have before owning this shoe, and custom insoles didn't help. The shoe just seems to force your weight too far onto the ball of foot, and I don't really need a shoe to do that for me. One of the best shoes out there, the most durable I think Nike has ever made, just not for me!

The shoe is amazing, it offers great durability and as far as the breathability, they are pretty actually. I don't have any problems there but I think that if people are looking at that in a shoe too often, they will point it out big time. Comments: Very comfortable shoes, you can feel the air max under your foot. I have fairly wide feet, and these shoes are on the narrow side, but after a thorough break-in (a couple of sets) they feel great! In terms of breathability, my feet were not soaked in sweat, but they weren't 100% dry either ... honestly, I didn't find it to be much of a problem. One thing to note is that after a week of playing, the dimples started to come off ... about 10 of them on one shoe (when the shoe would flex on a serve) and its noticeable on the white/yellow pair, so I'm getting the black/pink instead ! After a week, no signs of wear at all, but I can't say yet how durable they are in comparison to barricades, propulse, etc... Overall, I'd recommend them!

Comments: Compared to my old adidas feathers, these shoes do feel heavier, but it is much more stable, and has a better fit for my narrow feet. Comments: So I bought this pair of shoes over the breathe free cages II, one of the biggest mistakes. I should have stuck with the Breathe Free II. The ballistic 1.3 are very stiff, causes a lot of blisters and I'm out on the court playing 4-5 hours a day. they ARE NOT BREATHABLE. the side part of the shoe is starting to lift. Comments: I was on vacation a little while ago and my ordinary casual shoes completely died on me. I went to the local shoe store to buy some casual shoes when I stumbled upon these bad boys. I have always in the past played tennis with a cheaper pair of Adidas', but there was something special about these shoes. They were extraordinary stylish for a tennis shoes and could be served for an every day shoe (although they ware out a lot faster). But back to the shoes. I played 2 times with these shoes for about a hour to two hour period. When I played for the third time these shoes were already broken in. They fit to my feet like a perfectly molded pad. They feel like little pillows on my feet. These are by far the best shoe I have ever worn. Good for people who have both wide and skinny feet. The only problem that I may have in the future is how fast the ware down. Nike isn't known to be the best brand for long lasting shoes. But the 6 month durability guarantee is all so nice.

Here are the negatives: a pimple came off. You may think one pimple is nothing but if one pimple comes off within 2 hours of wear, how many more pimples will come off after 20 hours of wear? I tried the Vapor VI's in the store and they were as stiff as a board. There is no need to worry about turning an ankle in these because the support is amazing. Definitely get these if you're wearing through your shoes fast. After a few practices, the outsole still looks brand new. They are great quality and will not let you down. Get these over the bulky and slow Barricades. Hope this helps.

Comments: I usually avoid hard courts because of knee pain. After 3 hours on the hardcourt I had no pain the next day. Amazing. It also helped to wear 2 pairs of socks because of the sizing, but the new Dri Fit socks are thin anyway. I decided to buy the clay court version of this shoe as well. For people interested in better ventilation, I recommend sandals.

Comments: These shoes are amazing, the best tennis shoe I have ever tried. It's incredibly snug and fit, and really low to ground feel. Weight's not a problem unless you are age 10 or below. Ventilation is only downside, but everybody is making a huge deal out of it, it's not that bad.

Comments: Love these shoes! They were very comfortable from the first wear. They fit like a glove, even before lacing them up. I prefer to tie the laces tightly, I feel that it enhances the overall fit, feel and stability of the shoes. I got the French Open version and they're stylish as hell. I have to say that at first, I didn't like the Ballistec's overall design, but now that I've worn them for myself and gotten used to them, I really love them, everyone should switch to these shoes. :-D Especially the awesome French Open design.

I am considering switching back to the Cage IIs because my feet moved a lot quicker with them. With these shoes I feel sluggish. Comments: I disagree with all of the negative feedback for these shoes. If you've worn the Breathe Cage II, then just buy whatever size you wore in them. The shoes are very supportive and for me required no break in. When I first went to play in them, I was afraid the extra weight would slow me down. I was quickly proven wrong as I seemed to run better in these shoes. These have all the comfort of the Cages with more support and durability. As far as the temperature goes, I haven't really played in hot enough weather yet, oh well Great Job Nike.

Comments: These shoes are great! They have awesome grip and the air max makes it very comfortable! Of course, they are also great looking, if you like to make a statement! About the breathability, they are not the best nor the worst. I think the first time I played with them after I read a lot of bad reviews on these shoes about breathability I kinda kept my focus on this factor, and my feet felt a little hot. But I think is just because I was focusing on the breathability factor. I'm sure if I had not read the reviews, I would not have any complaints about the shoes. Comments: I have had so many pairs of Nike tennis shoes that last couple years from the breathe IIs to the all the vapor series to to the cages to the cage IIs and the 1.3s are definitely the best by far. These shoes are so comfortable. For those of you that say there's no breathability because the upper is all plastic, y'all are way wrong. If you look closely, there is mesh in between all the tiny rubber dots, which gives breathability. Great shoes! Can't wait for a cool color scheme. I'm a high school player and people will make fun of me if I wear pink shoes...

Comments: It really depends on the foot, I swear by Prince for comfort and durability. I have been wanting to try something new so I got the Nike. It is like putting on a wetsuit on your foot, which for me was a new feel and felt snug and great. I like the air cushion on the heel and it makes my foot feel sleek and fast. I won my 1st USTA match this season with them on 6-2, 6-2 so I am not complaining, good equipment comfort and clothes make me play better. So the shoe is not the best out of the box for initial comfort, but it is like a baseball glove or ice skates, it takes a while to break but for these shoes that means about 4 sets, big whoop. I like them but I wish Nike would come out with a great shoe and not charge so much just because it is new, I will wear the Nike, wear it out ... and go back to Prince because I think plain and simple it is not cool to take advantage of us like they do business or not they should show some loyalty and not be so greedy all the time. Thanks Nike, Prince rules!

Comments: In the first place, these shoes look great! I like their style more than any other tennis shoe I've ever seen or had. My favorite thing about them is their simplicity, namely, that they are one piece. In other words, think of a sock which you pull on. In the second place, in my experience, they required no break-in period whatsoever; on the contrary, I slipped them on and forgot I was wearing a new pair. Before these I wore the Vapor V -- I liked them very much -- and my first time playing with the Ballistecs, as I said above, I did not realize I was wearing a new pair of shoes. I guess the best way for me to put it is that the transition from one to the other was seamless. That said, I agree with others here that they are heavier and hotter than other models and brands. But I have no problem with hot shoes, and regarding weight, although at first sight I was indeed skeptical, I realized that while playing it's not an issue for me. As for stability and comfort, excellent!

Comments: I had my doubts with these shoes for the first two months, but then I tried my Cage IIs on and felt a lack of comfort. The only downside to the Ballistecs is the weight, which is barely noticeable until late in the third set. Breathability is not great but is never noticed. This shoe is overall good 4/5. Cage II is 3.86/5. Do buy this shoe.

Rafa might actually wear these one day, but only after somebody pokes hundreds of pinholes in them. This shoe has ZERO ventilation. A better name would be the AirMin, or the Death Cage--perhaps the Air Suffocate...

Comments: OK so I've read what most of these guys have written about this particular shoe. My turn! They aren't the Cages because they aren't supposed to be. I did the smart thing. I took my shoes (price t10's that are from 2005...SWEET) to the pro shop and started looking at the support systems and wear points. Next I looked at my arch and foot type. I have low arches and a relatively flat foot. These are working great for me. I rely more on my power than my speed so weight is not an issue. And why should it be??? It's only like 8 or fewer ounces. If that is heavy to you maybe you should check out the gym instead of this page. So far, so good. Still breaking mine in, I think they will be fine. More colors to choose from would be nice also. Black and white or black and grey. Anything c'mon.

They slow me down and also make me look like I'm wearing clown shoes. Also they do blister the tops of my toes and heels. In conclusion I strongly agree that you should not get a pair of these clogs.

Comments: First off I must say that these shoes look WAY better in person than in pics, I'm glad I gave them a chance and didn't judge them by the online photo. As far as performance I would give them a B+, maybe an A-. I come from wearing the Breathe Free II, and now I understand why "Breathe" was in the name. These shoes are not ventilated nearly as well as the BFII, but that doesn't really bother me too much like it does some people. As far as comfort I find these a little better than the BFII. They seem to be a bit wider, which is good for my foot and provide a fairly nice low to the ground, yet VERY cushioned feel. I also see people talk about how heavy they are, I don't find the weight to be a problem at all. Once my mind is focused on my tennis the weight of my shoes is the last thing that I will think about. My only real complaint about the shoe is that I wish it had more height in the toe area, I feel a bit constricted but it hasn't caused me any blisters or anything like that. Overall this is a very good offering from Nike.

They have great support and traction and are also surprisingly flexible. I haven't seen Rafa wear them in the Aussie open or any other tournaments, but who cares. This is a great shoe.

Comments: This shoe is very comfortable. When I bought them, I thought they would need to break in but amazingly they don't. Also I am very happy about the durability. I play on hard court every day with heavy baselining, and they are barely worn out. The only down side is that they are slightly heavier than other shoes but you get used to it, and if you have some muscle it should be no problem.

Comments: The first pair of tennis shoes I had bought were Adidas Barricade Vs and I have been using those for 2 year, and though that was the only shoe I would ever need. I stand corrected, the Ballistics 1.3 make my feet feel like I'm on cloud 9. People constantly complain about the weight, they're only .6 oz heavier than the V's. Plus if your legs can't really handle 18 oz shoes sounds like you have a date with the gym. But really so comfortable, low ride to the ground, and the traction is incredible.

Comments: Ok first of all, if you're going to consider buying these shoes, disregard every negative comment on this feedback list. I went into the store and tried these on along with the Vapor V and Vapor VI. The Vapor VI is stiff and not very comfortable. The Vapor V was much more comfortable, but the Ballistec 1.3 felt like a slipper when I put them on. About the 1/2 size larger, only get it if your feet are wide or narrow. When I tried my true size on it felt like a tight slipper. When I went a size up it was like a roomy house shoe or like I just put a pillow on my foot. With regards to the weight, it's not much of a difference than the Barricade V. I have Barricade Vs, Breathe Cage IIs, and now the Ballistec 1.3. The Ballistec is more comfortable than both of these shoes. Once you play you can't even feel the weight, you just feel the comfort. You'd be crazy not to get these, so go buy em now! Plus Rafa is gonna wear them in upcoming tournaments.

Comments: Ok. I played doubles on hard courts and when the shoes were fresh out of the Box. I do not recommend this because it can be very painful (especially if you have flat wide feet like me). The pain went away and I felt the shoe break in after about the first 5 games. After that I felt very mobile and alert. My footwork was on key especially for my overheads and quick react volleys. Never once did the weight of the shoe feel like a factor. The low ride and full sole contact to the court was a plus. I would rate these shoes better than my Breathe Cage IIs. A few days later, I played 2 hours of singles on Har-Tru Clay. These shoes were so comfortable on clay. All the running I did, I never felt my shoes weighed me down or like I was tripping over myself. My split-steps and stop-and-go's felt fine without worrying about rolling my ankle. (Off the subject, but my opponent minorly sprained his ankle playing in Barricade Vs). Sliding felt fine with not too much grip on the court. I do slide better in my Breathe Free IIs though. I guess because these shoes are still new. Not at all did I feel pain in my shoes; just a little remorse that I got my white w/silver and obsidian CB1.3s nice and dirty.

Comments: Wow I am in blister heaven. If you want to rub the top of your toes raw and get blisters the size of Kansas, please purchase these. Not to mention the horrible pain in the ball of my foot. Please if you have any sense you will stick with the Cage II or or Breathe one. I can't wait to wear these out so I can go back to the Breathe or Cage II.
