Comments: No doubt about it, these are a substantial shoe - but with that comes great comfort and support. Took about a set or two for break in, but after that - extremely comfortable. A very sold performing shoe with day-long comfort and support. Can't comment on durability yet, but so far seem to be very well built.
From: Jeff, Gages Lake, IL USA, 10/10

Comments: I play roughly 35 hours of tennis a week which requires quite comfortable and rather durable shoes. These are by far the most durable shoes I ever possessed. They lasted me full 5 months even though I played quite extensively.
From: Filip, Manteca, CA, USA. 07/10

Comments: These are by far the most durable shoes I've worn compared to Propulse II and Barricade V. Once you break them in they're pretty comfortable as well. Only bad thing is that the traction is okay... after the 2nd month I was slipping and sliding...moving around on hardcourts feel like clay courts.
From: Vincent, USA, 07/10

Comments: This is a very stiff shoe. I'm still trying to break them in on day 7.
From: Ron, Vancouver, Canada. 06/10

Comments: These are too stiff. I returned them after a week of play. I tried 2k10 and they felt much more comfy then these. Though I got them through a great deal, but still I returned them because I couldn't move swiftly. Probably, they require a bit 'more break in time' but I felt heavy in them.
From: James, Valley Stream, NY, USA. 06/10

Comments: Sweet shoes. Bought them along with the yellow and white ones from the same season. I love them. Great durability, very small break in period, perfect fit. It's been almost a year and they're still going strong.
From: Chris, Redlands, CA, USA. 6/10

Comments: So I was expecting a lot from these, after playing with some other shoes, namely Babolat All Court 4s. I wore them, and nearly cried after, thinking it was a bad purchase. However, after a few days, they feel great. Don't be discouraged by the break-in period.
From: Andrew, Methuen, MA USA. 5/10

Comments: Great shoe, nice fit they get a little hot sometimes but you get used to it. Very very durable.
From: Patrick, NC, USA. 5/10

Comments: Got these things last year, started using them about two months ago, three to four times a week. They're lead weights that make you feel flat-footed. Really bulky and my feet get insanely hot. The durability is top notch but I wouldn't take the trade off in feel. Definitely going back to Barricades after this.
From: Otto, Milwaukee, WI. 5/10

Comments: Hey, I got these about 3 weeks ago and they feel great and play great too. Don't bother the 1/2 size down if you have wide feet. But if u do have narrow feet then I suggest you go down 1/2 a size. It's lightweight, nice color (McEnroe edition), and good durability. And only took about a week for me to break into. Just walked around school and played in it for a week and its good to go. I play high school tennis. Rating 4.0-4.5
From: Brian, So. Cal. 4/10

Comments: Just bought these 2 weeks ago. These are the stiffest shoes I have ever worn. I feel like I have Bricks on my feet. I hope they will break in soon. It seems the quality of Nike keeps going down instead of up. The first all black Federer's were awesome, since those, it seems they all tend to be stiff and not breathe.
From: Chris, Louisiana, USA. 04/10

Comments: I got these for my b-day in july and they still haven't worn out!!!!! Almost 1 year!! It's especially amazing because I play on hard courts indoors!!
From: Alex, VA, USA. 4/10

Comments: One of the worst shoes ever for ventilation. It is a tad bit narrow too. Durability isn't bad. The traction wears out quickly but the rubber outsole lasts while while its smoothed out. I think Barricades and Air Max Breathe Cages are way better than these. Horrible shoes.
From: Anonymous, Norcal. 4/10

Comments: It's a great shoe. It's every bit as comfortable and playable as my old Asics Gel Resolution 1&2 except the upper isn't very breathable. I developed a blister on my big toe because my feet couldn't stay dry in these things. Looks like the 2.3 fixes that problem. Also, they're just a hair bit more durable than my AGR2 which I wore out in 2.5-3 months. After playing with the 2.3's for 1.5 months, I've almost worn out the right medial toe area and the are under the ball of my right foot is completely smooth with the left shoe trailing just slightly behind.
From: Andy, San Francisco, CA. 3/10

Comments: These shoe are very uncomfortable. Too narrow around the front of my foot. Also, that 1/2 size suggestion is wrong. I always wear Nike but this was a miss. If you have a wide foot and play on Florida summer hard courts, stay away from these shoes!
From: Sven, Melbourne Beach, Florida, USA 03/10

Comments: Once and for all, get the same size in these as the Breathe Cage II! I don't know where the 'get a half size smaller' stuff came from, but I wear an 11.5 in the Breathe Cage II and 11.5 in Court Ballistec 1.3; just got the Nadal French Open version and played in them, and they are great shoes. Don't get a half size smaller!!
From: Carl, PTC, GA, USA 03/10

Comments: Just bought these last week and they were broken in in no time, about an hour into practice they felt good. Don't hurt my feet and look good, highly recommend!
From: Gage, Emporia, Kansas 02/10

Comments: These shoes perform brilliantly, if only they were more attractive. I have heel problems and require buying shoes loaded with cushioning, these do the trick. Just finished three hours on court yesterday with no pain. I'll still use my Vapors for tournament play, but everything else will be in my CourtBallistec 1.3's.
From: David, USA. 3/10

Comments: This is the best tennis shoe I've ever played in. I used to wear Adidas Barricade 5. Not any more. These feel very comfortable and I have a wide foot. Also, they seem to run true to size. I didn't bother going 1/2 size down and my foot doesn't slip around the inside of the shoe at all.
From: Phil, NY 02/10

Comments: These are great. I used to wear the vapor line, but I always burned through them in a few month. These came kind of stiff and felt heavy on the feet. However, after breaking them in and getting used to the weight; about 4 to 5 playing sessions. They become outstanding. They are stable and is fantastic for side to side movement. The best feature of this is the way I feel when I change directions or recover from a defensive shot. The only issue I have with the 1.3 is still is that they don't breathe too well. After a few hours in them they do smell a bit, but it's nothing a bit of febreeze can't take care of. So if you're looking for something that will last you a long time, and also improve your balance around the court, this is a great choice. I can't wait to try to 2.3.
From: anon. 02/10

Comments: The first time I went shopping for actual tennis shoes, I narrowed my choices down to the Barricade 5 and these shoes. In the end, I ended up buying the Barricade 5's. Of course the Barricades are awesomely stable shoes but when first comparing both shoes, the Court Ballistecs felt so much more comfortable. I now have a pair of Ballistecs and these shoes are probably the best shoes I have ever worn in my life. I broke them in by walking around school on the first day. In these shoes, the stability is awesome. Around school, the first week back after Christmas, I found myself slipping on the stairs and I caught myself from falling every time. On the court, this shoe has so much action. Reminiscent of Nadal's heavy baseline play, I believe my speed has increased a little bit and sliding is so much easier to do in these than the Barricades. My sliding recovery time is great too when I'm pushing out points. I'm able to spin in my slide and get to the next ball. The only downside with these shoes is the foot pains which come from intense playing. After playing, your feet feel sore and heavy, which is understandable given the intensity of your game but after resting/sleeping, your feet should be ready for game time. My shoe size is a 10.5 and I got a pair in my regular size and it fits perfectly. Again, probably the best athletic shoes ever.
From: Tim, Austin, Texas. USA 01/10

Comments: Great shoe! No major flaws except they are a little narrow for my foot. On my second pair I'm going to give the 2.3s a try.
From: Jacob Cole, Tampa Florida USA 01/10

Comments: Great shoe, I wear to play in the same shoe only in the Pink and Gray, I found this shoe to be even more narrow than those. So I would ditch the go smaller suggestion they make and go maybe a size larger to make up for how narrow it is. I actually went up a size, but they are very comfortable and feel great on the court.
From: Tim, NYC, New York 01/10

Comments: Right out of the box, the shoe looked really fierce. First used it in summer and it took about 3 hrs to break the shoe in. I went half a size smaller with my toes touching the front. But it stretches in awhile and have no such problems anymore. The uppers are really comfortable and the sole seems to be rather flat and it spreads out getting you as much traction as possible. I especially like the part where some part of the midsole touches the ground. I play mostly in 30+ deg Celsius and have no problem with ventilation. The downside is that on the ball of the sole (box looking rubber), one of the box broke off from my sole in just 3 hrs of play. And the shoe actually expanded a little bigger than my feet now. Making me slide a little inside. If I'm honest, its still a great buy. It will almost get full marks from me. With the discount now, even better.
From: Bryan, Melbourne, Victoria 01/10

Comments: Nike really lives up to its claims, SPEED & STABILITY! I am never a fan of NIKE Tennis shoes until I decided to give it one more try, and I was not disappointed this time. I'm getting a new pair of the new Air Ballistec very SOON! Great Job NIKE.
From: Francis, Philippines 01/10

Comments: I love it! It's better than the vapor tour. I have been using this shoe for 4 months now and it's really durable but the only thing is there is not much ventilation in this shoe, but every thing is great! I give it 5 stars!
From: Sandeep, New Zealand. 12/09

Comments: One of the stiffest most uncomfortable shoes I've ever tried. I love Nike but I hated these. Can't imagine playing in them. Nor can I understand the mostly positive reviews
From: Peter, Los Angeles, CA
NTRP Rating: 6.0

Comments: Originally got these in the Gray/Pink French Open colorway in 11.5; Now I have both the White/Navy and Gray/Pink versions in my regular size 12. I didn't find these shoes to be half-a-size larger; maybe more like a 1/4, but at that point, what's the difference? (get your regular size in these). These shoes are tanks- they are soft inside but they do feel a bit too sturdy. Court gripping was not an issue for me, but I'd need to try these out in warm weather.
From: David, 07424, U.S. 12/09

Comments: After wearing these shoes for about 6 hours, they seem to be the best tennis shoes I've had in recent memory. They fit very snug (even for my narrow feet). I was not a big fan of the Breathe Free Series, but these shoes are a little lower to the ground and lighter. Slides a little on hard courts, not a big deal though. Sizing was not an issue. I'm in between sizes 11.5 and 12, 11.5 fits perfectly. So if you're between sizes, choose the smaller option. Break in time was hardly necessary. Walk around in them for ten minutes and they'll be alright on the court.
From: anon. 12/09

Comments: I've never worn a shoe like this. Like an Adidas Barricade with a pillow crammed inside. Your foot feels super stable in these. One weird thing is that it's kind of easy to slip in them--can't figure out why yet. I thought nothing could ever top Asics Gel Resolution or Nike Breathe Free II--these might do it though.
From: Jerome, New Hope, PA, USA 12/09

Comments: Overall great shoe. Great durability. However, they do tend to lack some feeling because they're sort of stiff. I played with Vapor V's and felt those broke in much easier and allowed me to have much more feel for the court with my legs. This shoes nonetheless are very comfortable and allow for greater stability in the ankle I felt.
From: Jeremy, Massachusetts 12/09

Comments: I like the low to ground and over all look but everything ends there. Currently using cage II with insole and two socks for additional cushioning. This one is kind of narrow from front and upper is not very comfortable as cage II. I can wear 1.5 size large in cage II but 1.3 sizing is off. My regular size fit tight from front & up.
From: Kevin, San Jose, CA, USA 12/09

Comments: I thought I'd switch to another shoe from barricades just to see what's out there so I bought a pair of these today. Hit for an hour and found them to be very comfortable and light compared to the B-Vs. Very nice shoes, nice fit, I recommend them.
From: anon. 12/09

Comments: Try on first. I'm a size 12 ordered a 12 and they fit very well. I have wide feet with no arch. That's what a lifetime of tennis does. They don't grip the court as well as some shoes. So if you play on slick fast concrete courts, use caution.
From: anon. 12/09

Comments: I did not find them as an 1/2 large. Very comfy shoes. Has a narrow fit. Also looks nice!
From: Angelo, Cebu, Philippines 11/09

Comments: This is by far - the best tennis shoe on the market; I've tried Adidas Barricade (lacks cushion) and Feather IV (lacks cushion + lateral support). Nike CourtBallistec 1.3 has the best cushion + lateral support for heavy hitting grinder like myself; one thing I've learned is you need the right shoe to avoid injury and this is the best shoe for it!
From: Dave NTRP 5.0, San Jose, CA USA 11/09

Comments: I've worn KSwiss for the last year and bought these looking for a longer-lasting outsole. Contrary to TW's advice, these run true to size for my feet; medium arch and slightly wide foot. I've had fit issues with Nikes in the past (too narrow in the forefoot) but the CBs fit really well. The support is great; a low to the ground feel, lateral stability with much more stiffness than my KSwiss, which feel mushy by comparison. On court, the comfort of these shoes is most impressive. They feel light, have great traction and the stiffness makes the shoe and my foot feel like a single unit. I broke them in with a day of casual wear followed by a plyometric/aerobic gym session. Once the creases in the upper took shape, the comfort was great. On the initial wear I felt a bit of heel slippage even though the size was right, but once the uppers got broken in, the issue went away. Ordering a second pair in case they change the fit with next year's version.
From: amadou, NY, NY USA. 11/09

Comments: I have had a pair of these shoes since they came out months ago, and I was very impressed with the comfort, mobility, and of course the outstanding cosmetic appeal. The shoe stayed very nice for some time and the durability is close to the top of the list with the barricades. Here is why I will go back to the vapor line: obviously the shoe won't grip as good when the traction wears down, but I thought they became almost slippery on lateral movements on fast hard courts. Also, if you have a higher arch as I do, I would not recommend this shoe as I have developed a pain in the ball of my foot that I didn't have before owning this shoe, and custom insoles didn't help. The shoe just seems to force your weight too far onto the ball of foot, and I don't really need a shoe to do that for me. One of the best shoes out there, the most durable I think Nike has ever made, just not for me!
From: Rizza, Longview, Wa U.S.A. 10/09

Comments: This is a really great shoe. My other shoe, is the Nike Vapor Zoom Tour and it wore through in like 4 weeks. QUICK!! But i switched to these and they feel great!! Especially when you get into those positions when you need to slide, you will slide like Rafa does on the clay. It even made me feel a little more confident in my game play.
From: Uvalde, Texas 10/09

Comments: Definitely order your regular shoe size if you have wide feet. Personally it's taken me almost two weeks to break in the shoes and it's really killing the outsides of my feet. Other than that, it's a great shoe.
From: Robert, Houston, Texas, USA 10/09

Comments: Great shoes but not really a shoe you can hope to buy right when you need a bigger size shoe. The size isn't really with it. It is larger but not by half rather like 1/4 large than your number tells you. Hey you can feel nice try it on and off the court but one thing is excellent traction and fits your feet movement.
From: Alvin, Chicago, IL 10/09

Comments: I did not find them to be (a full) half a size large as well. Great shoes however.
From: AG, SoCal, USA 10/09

Comments: I did not find them to be a 1/2 size to large. Be careful when ordering.
From: Ryan, St. Paul, MN. 10/09

Comments: Being number two in the country for junior tennis isn't that easy but these shoes help so much. I'm much more faster on my feet now and it's easier to get to the ball.
From: Korina, Florida, U.S 10/09

Comments: These shoes are pretty good. They are good with the support and are pretty good with the durability. I play every day for at least 2 hours and usually go through shoes fast but these took 2 months to wear out. Overall another solid shoe from Nike.
From: Sam, Asheville. 10/09

Comments: A really great shoe. It fits perfectly and its true, buy 1/2 a size smaller!
From: David, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia 10/09

Comments: My previous shoes have been adidas barricades and prince t22s. These shoes are holding up very well after 2 weeks, they are extremely comfortable, stable, and have good traction. My feet get really hot in these shoes though...
From: anon. 09/09

Comments: I bought the turquoise-pink-electrolime (what Nike calls that funny yellow color) French Open version of this shoe, which are designed for clay courts. I took the advice of this and almost every other tennis website, and bought a half size smaller than I usually buy. I'll be honest, had I been in a store, I probably would have just bought my regular size. But, once I got on court and warmed up, the soft interior of the shoe molded around my foot like a glove. I felt perfectly stable, and I had really great support. I've got a low arch, somewhat narrow foot, and this shoe seemed perfectly tailored to my feet. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this shoe to someone with a high arch, but really, you should just try shoes on. You'd be surprised what feels good despite what you read. But previously to this I've had mostly Nikes, and most recently the CB 1.2, which when I bought it felt insanely comfortable, so I though. But compared to this one the 1.2 feels like a board. Whatever they've done (including the Lunarlite) really makes a difference. I'm a 3.0 - 3.5 high school player, and I've owned a lot of shoes. This one's the best one for me yet. I'd give it my highest recommendations. And, as a plus, the shoes look awesome, a sturdy, attractive silhouette, with many of the models coming in great colors, which I always like (hence why I chose the French Open ones)
From: Chris, Mashpee, Massachusetts

Comments: I just ordered another pair, this time the navy and pink ones and I am not even caring about the pink, I actually think it looks great in person! The shoe is amazing, it offers great durability and as far as the breathability, they are pretty actually. I don't have any problems there but I think that if people are looking at that in a shoe too often, they will point it out big time. The feel of the shoe is pretty nice out of the box and I think a few practice sessions will break these in to where people want them to be; to give the feeling you've worn them for a month or so. I would compare these shoes to the Barricades but I like the feel of these, they wrap around your foot very nicely and it provides for good traction and movement on the court.
From: Anthony, Austin, TX 09/09

Comments: Straight of the box these shoes look awesome!! However, having a collapsed arch and an extra wide foot, these fall short for me. I've had them about 2 weeks and I'm slowly breaking them in (so far they're awesome) just a little uncomfortable.
From: Matt, Chattanooga, TN 09/09

Comments: Aesthetically these shoes are amazing, best looking ones Nike has made in a while. That being said I spent a whole summer playing daily in these shoes, and I am still wearing this pair with no problems. They feel lower to the ground and I feel quicker in them. My only problem was that with no ventilation these things start to stink up real fast. I will go with another pair since winter tennis is coming up, but for the hot sticky days of summer I feel like the Cage 2's breathability would be more ideal.
From: Ty, Columbus, Ohio, USA. 9/09

Comments: I love this shoe. It is really comfortable and very sturdy. I used the shoe for around a month now and it barely shows any wear on the soles. I play every day for around three hours. The only bad thing about these shoes is that the pegs are coming off. On the inside of the shoes as well as where the shoe bends from serving and staying on your toes are almost completely bare. Other than that its a great shoe!
From: Anon. 09/09

Comments: These shoes are unbelievable. I personally pick shoes based on how they look. these shoes look sick AND are really comfortable which is hard to find (trust me I've looked). I strongly recommend them.
From: Justin, Southern California, USA. 09/09

Comments: Great shoe, took some time to break in compared to my Propulse 2's. Took approx one week of clay court practice at Casal Sanchez to break them in. Other than that buy half a size bigger. Wish they were a tad lighter for grinders. One big minus - they get very hot compared to the PP2's.
From: Dorian, Tampa, FL USA 08/09

Comments: These shoes are wicked...the most comfortable shoes out there right now..
From: Matthew, Montreal Quebec, Canada. 08/09

Comments: Hands down the most comfortable shoe right out of the box. Arch support supports the arch. A buying it a half size smaller is what you should do. In side the shoe it feels like there is incredible padding, no rough spots. To put it lightly I will definitely be buying another pair of these CB 1.3s before the change the style again. This shoe is my fit. They are awesome!
From: Nick, Bend, Oregon, USA 08/09

Comments: I've never worn a shoe that felt so good right out of the box. I feel like im walking on pillows. The CB 1.3's are a little heavy, but overall its a great shoe.
From: Kenneth, Houston, TX 08/09

Comments: Awesome shoe. Grip really well, snug fit, and amazing low-to-the-ground feel. Ventilation isn't even that bad. They do take a few hours of playing to break in but after that you're set. A lot more comfortable than the adidas Barricades.
From: Damian, Vancouver, Canada. 8/09

Comments: These shoes are a little stiff at first but that does not last very long. Then the shoe is great!
From: Bo Mcdonale, TX 08/09

Comments: CourtBallistecs are an okay shoe; while aesthetically pleasing to the eye, I feel somewhat sluggish on the tennis court as compared to when I wore Barricade V's. Maybe the Ballistec's different design just didn't suit me, or I've put on weight since I wore my Barricades, but the pink Ballistecs will be street shoes for me once I get the warranty in. Toe seems tight at first (I have wide feet), but the shoe eventually loosens up.
From: Anon, 07/09

Comments: I found these shoes to be far to narrow in the toe area, and I've never considered myself to have a wide foot. Sizing down a 1/2 size was perfect for the length but may too tight in the toe. Returned right away. Super awesome looking shoe, and seems like a comfortable shoe minus the toe.
From: Aaron, San Diego, CA 07/09

Comments: Very comfortable shoes, you can feel the air max under your foot. I have fairly wide feet, and these shoes are on the narrow side, but after a thorough break-in (a couple of sets) they feel great! In terms of breathability, my feet were not soaked in sweat, but they weren't 100% dry either ... honestly, I didn't find it to be much of a problem. One thing to note is that after a week of playing, the dimples started to come off ... about 10 of them on one shoe (when the shoe would flex on a serve) and its noticeable on the white/yellow pair, so I'm getting the black/pink instead! After a week, no signs of wear at all, but I can't say yet how durable they are in comparison to barricades, propulse, etc... Overall, I'd recommend them!
From: Stan, Toronto, Canada 07/09

Comments: Compared to my old Adidas feathers, these shoes do feel heavier, but it is much more stable, and has a better fit for my narrow feet. Very high quality shoe, very comfortable, and after 15 hours of play, there is barely any wear on the outsole. The grip is good but not excellent. I didn't have any problems with the breathability. They don't have a low to the ground feel like some other shoes, but it still performs well. Get the white and yellow ones, they are the best looking by far.
From: Lobo, Berlin, Connecticut 07/09

Comments: So I bought this pair of shoes over the breathe free cages II, one of the biggest mistakes. I should have stuck with the Breathe Free II. The ballistic 1.3 are very stiff, causes a lot of blisters and I'm out on the court playing 4-5 hours a day. they ARE NOT BREATHABLE. the side part of the shoe is starting to lift. if you play in the sun a lot, I don't recommend these shoes. They heat up so quick causing blister after blister.
From: anon. 07/09

Comments: The shoes are too narrow across the toe area, and I had to return the shoe. If you have a wide foot, these shoes will not suit. I did buy them a half a size too small, and this was a mistake also.
From: Jon, Hobart TAS Australia. 7/09

Comments: I have the lime green, black and turquoise model and I love them. They play great on all surfaces and they broke in really quickly. You can't go wrong with this shoe.
From: Sam, NH, USA 07/09

Comments: I was on vacation a little while ago and my ordinary casual shoes completely died on me. I went to the local shoe store to buy some casual shoes when I stumbled upon these bad boys. I have always in the past played tennis with a cheaper pair of Adidas', but there was something special about these shoes. They were extraordinary stylish for a tennis shoes and could be served for an every day shoe (although they ware out a lot faster). But back to the shoes. I played 2 times with these shoes for about a hour to two hour period. When i played for the third time these shoes were already broken in. They fit to my feet like a perfectly molded pad. They feel like little pillows on my feet. These are by far the best shoe I have ever worn. Good for people who have both wide and skinny feet. The only problem that I may have in the future is how fast the ware down. Nike isn't known to be the best brand for long lasting shoes. But the 6 month durability guarantee is all so nice.
From: Steve, New York, New York, United States 07/09

Comments: I LOVE THESE SHOES! I used to wear vapors all the time, but when I switched to these shoes I noticed such a great increase in comfort and the shoes fit a wider range of people's feet because the Vapor 6 is unfortunately a lot narrower than expected. Great lateral stability and everything, even when I drag the outer soles don't wear too fast and breathability seems to be the only down part, though, it still doesn't seem too bad to me. Great shoe overall.
From: Kim, Los Angeles, CA, USA. 06/09

Comments: I tried these sneakers on at a local sports store with recommended half size smaller, but it was too small. Went back to my normal Nike size and fits perfectly. Seemed pretty comfy. Will wait until my last year's vapors are worn away before getting these pairs.
From: Ross, NYC 07/09

Comments: I only played one 2 h session on a hard court on a warm day with these shoes and the stand-out comments are: minimal break-in period, fits like a slipper, good traction and stability, ventilation was adequate - my feet did not bake as initially feared. Here are the negatives: a pimple came off. You may think one pimple is nothing but if one pimple comes off within 2 hours of wear, how many more pimples will come off after 20 hours of wear? My feet felt like they were encased in lead bricks but at the same time, they didn't affect my maneuverability - a strange one... Anyway, as usual, Nike always delivers on performance but as usual with Nike shoes, how long will they last?
From: JJ, UK 07/09

Comments: These shoes are so comfortable. They seem heavy but are not. They are certainly a must get for any athletic tennis player.
From: Freddy, NH, USA 06/09

Comments: This shoe is very comfortable and easy to move in, but I have had the DragOn X ones for about 2 months, and every time I play with them after I'm done, my right pinky toe hurts like no one's business.
From: Alex, Texas. 6/09

Comments: I've already commented on the excessive comfort and stability these shoes provide, and that buying them a half size smaller is a must! I wanted to comment on the durability now that I've worn them "every time" I've played for the past month or so even though I have a reasonably fresh pair of Vapor V's in the closet, they just have so much cushioning. After wearing the V's for this amount of time I had already worn the bald strip around the inside of the forefoot and basically flattened the toe. The ballistics are lasting great, as there is still a lot of traction left where I wear shoes out and it will probably take a hundred more slides to do damage. The strange thing is I've worn the bald spot on the toe already, but the area around it looks almost new still. Nike has done a better job with durability on this shoe without a doubt-my wallet is pleased!
From: Joplin, L-town, WA, USA, 05/09

Comments: Yeah, I agree with Pedro from San Antonio. If these shoes don't give you the amount of ventilation you desire, then I'd recommend a pair of sandals or flip flops. I've had these shoes for about two months and love them. My only complaint is that the tread on the bottom of the shoe has been completely worn smooth for almost a month and the shoe won't get a freaking hole in the bottom! There is no tread left so the shoe doesn't have very good grip, yet it won't get get a hole in the bottom, so I can use my 6-month warranty!
From: Taylor, Fort Worth, Texas, USA. 05/09
Shoes don't need to have a hole in order to take advantage of the outsole guarantee; if the shoe is not safe to play due to lack of tread it can be sent in.--TW staff

Comments: I bought the green and blue ones awhile ago, and the only problem I have ever had with them is the breathability. The shoes were literally soaked after a tough hour. I don't even sweat a whole lot. I had never had Nike tennis shoes before, and I was worried that they wouldn't last very long. The shoes lasted me from February and all the way through a full high school season. These are a great buy, but buy two pairs if you are playing a couple matches because these shoes get weighted down from sweat.

Comments: I've had these bad boys for about a week. As recommended, I bought them one half size smaller than usual. As a result, they fit great and are no where near as heavy as all of the reviews that I read. I can't tell the difference in weight between these and the cage II's. As far as them being too hot, no problems there for me. I wore them to play, no prob, to work all day, no prob. Seems to me that some Adidas lovers are just bagging on these shoes.

Comments: These shoes are definitely not too heavy. I'm am a skinny 120lb teenager and these shoes feel awesome. I previously wore the Cage II's and the transition was easy. I tried the Vapor VI's in the store and they were as stiff as a board. There is no need to worry about turning an ankle in these because the support is amazing. Definitely get these if you're wearing through your shoes fast. After a few practices, the outsole still looks brand new. They are great quality and will not let you down. Get these over the bulky and slow Barricades. Hope this helps.

Comments: I usually avoid hard courts because of knee pain. After 3 hours on the hardcourt I had no pain the next day. Amazing. It also helped to wear 2 pairs of socks because of the sizing, but the new Dri Fit socks are thin anyways. I decided to buy the clay court version of this shoe as well. For people interested in better ventilation, I recommend sandals.

Comments: So comfortable! Not the lightest or swiftest feeling shoe, but if you play a lot on hardcourts these kicks will save your life, very nice shoe.

Comments: I only wear Nike and find these shoes to be stable and comfortable. The weight and breathability issues mentioned in earlier posts are minimal at best. All in all these shoes are very good and I would highly recommend them.

Comments: These shoes are amazing, the best tennis shoe I have ever tried. It's incredibly snug and fit, and really low to ground feel. Weight's not a problem unless you are age 10 or below. Ventilation is only downside, but everybody is making a huge deal out of it, it's not that bad.

Comments: In response to the comment made earlier by an anonymous contributor, I have a sponsor from Nike and the next colorway to come out is yellow, white, and black and looks SICK! The breathability isn't bad at all, hot feet and tennis just seem to go together in my opinion, I have nothing negative to say about this shoe besides maybe durability, and the 6 month guarantee takes care of that!

Comments: Love these shoes! They were very comfortable from the first wear. They fit like a glove, even before lacing them up. I prefer to tie the laces tightly, I feel that it enhances the overall fit, feel and stability of the shoes. I got the French Open version and they're stylish as hell. I have to say that at first, I didn't like the Ballistec's overall design, but now that I've worn them for myself and gotten used to them, I really love them, everyone should switch to these shoes. :-D Especially the awesome French Open design.

Comments: The shoes are SO SO GREAT. I love it. I slide like a monster, and my recovery is so fast and stable. It helps in so many ways. Does run 1/2 size larger. I like these shoes more than my Barracides V.

Comments: These shoes are very stable and comfortable. They are durable and flexible, too. They also look amazing. The only complaint is that they are way too heavy. I am considering switching back to the Cage IIs because my feet moved a lot quicker with them. With these shoes I feel sluggish. If you don't mind a heavy shoe, these are perfect, but for me I just need something lighter.

Comments: I disagree with all of the negative feedback for these shoes. If you've worn the Breathe Cage II, then just buy whatever size you wore in them. The shoes are very supportive and for me required no break in. When I first went to play in them, I was afraid the extra weight would slow me down. I was quickly proven wrong as I seemed to run better in these shoes. These have all the comfort of the Cages with more support and durability. As far as the temperature goes, I haven't really played in hot enough weather yet, oh well Great Job Nike.
