Nike Air Courtballistec 4.3 Wh/Silver Men's Shoe Customer feedback
Comments: I have been wearing Courtballistecs since the 2.3s and I must say that these are the best of
the bunch. Last year I didn't feel like getting the 3.3s until they went on sale so I picked up one of the few Breath Cage
IIs left. Coming from the 2.3s I was wondering why did they stop making these, the 2.3s hurt my knees and turned me
into an ibuprofen junkie. Then after I destroyed them I picked up the 3.3s and they weren't on par breathing wise or
comfort but a pretty good shoe(my laces didn't break so I can't complain), but anyway I got two of them and then using
my product voucher I bought the 4.3s. These are really good, cushioning is excellent, breathability is closer to that of
the BCIIs and it is very stable and comfortable. All in all these are going to be stocked up but, I wish that they still made
the BCIIs even if they didn't have the 6 Month Outsole Guarantee.
Comments: This is the first pair of Courtballistecs that I could take from the box
and play a match in. Comfortable from the first moment I laced them up
with just the right amount of snugness all around. Roomier than the Courtballistecs
3.3 and without the three-week break-in period that I needed with the
previous model. The weight seems just right for such a supportive and
durable shoe. My biggest worry is the lacing system. It uses the same
ribbon loops of the Courtballistecs 3.3 and I broke 3 of those before I sent the
shoe back to Nike. I don't lace tightly and the ribbons make for a
quick lace-up and shoe removal but aren't tough enough for the job. My
Courtballistecs 3.3s cost $125 and I was drilling holes in the shoe to run the
laces through. Not cool! I like the new color; grey with peach. I've
never seen that combination before and I like the subtle splash of
color. Over time, I learned to love each of the Courtballistecs and this one is
on pace to exceed them all. I may end up stockpiling this model
because I don't know how it can get better.
Comments: I am a tournament level player and enjoy the great comfort that
comes with these shoes. The one problem I feel is the outsole wearing
out quickly but it is ok because there is a warranty.
Comments:Four major problems still exist in this shoe having not been fixed from the very
similar Courtballistec 3.3: 1) There is nowhere near enough padding around the front of the ankle collar
so the front inside of both ankles gets bruised. It's very painful and does not improve after
break-in. 2) The "loop" lacing system is already starting to fray. Being identical to the 3.3s,
then they do break the shoes become unwearable. Use proper holes like all other companies
on your heavy duty tennis shoe. 3) The tongue is too short. 4) The laces are way too short.
If the last two points seem petty, they are not when you are spending $130 yet Nike is nickle
and diming you. Overall the shoes are solid, with lower weight than the 3.3, better ventilation
and still hard wearing but I will be going with Adidas Barricade 7s for next year if these things
aren't improved for the CB5.3. The CB 2.3 had none of the above 4 problems which sprout
from cheapness and really do make what could have been another 5-Star Nike shoe into a 3-
star one.
Comments: This shoe is a great shoe. I had upgraded from the 3.3's, and
they are a major breakthrough. There is almost no break in required, and
it is noticeably lighter. Like the 3.3's, the loops holding the laces
still break, so try not to lace them too tight. Also, near the drag on
2X, the cloth holding the sole to the drag on 2X ripped. Got them sent
in today, and getting a new pair. they are very durable, like the 3.3's,
and very stylish. The part near the AirMax wears out pretty fast, so
dont drag your feet. But all in all, they are very good shoes, with good
durability. Just a few flaws at the part where the shoe bends (drag on
2X) and the laces. Good Work, Nike!
Comments: Bought these shoes after my 3.3s started wearing down and holes formed
on the front toes of the shoes. 4.3s come to the rescue. The shoe is lighter and much
more comfortable than the 3.3s. At first glance I was concerned about the design of the
upper because it seemed somewhat flimsy compared to my 3.3s. Lo and behold after
one set of playing with these shoes the upper began to split apart at the point where the
laces loop into the shoe. Unbelievable! Less than an hour of playing and these shoes
are already done. It is a great looking shoe and very comfortable but someone really
dropped the ball with the design of the upper. It's too bad the 6 month warranty does not
cover the upper because this appears to be a common problem.
Comments: This is a good shoe, but there is a MAJOR FLAW. As the previous poster stated, the loops
that the laces
go through break which is what allows you to tighten the laces. This is very disappointing because otherwise it's a good
shoe.
Nike, didn't you do any testing?
Comments: I really like these shoes, but they have one major flaw regarding durability. The loops that
the laces go
through are cheap fabric and they start to break after a very short period. I have a narrow foot and I pull the laces tight.
After only
1 month the first lace loop broke and after 2 months, 4 had broken. I had to use a drill and make lace holes for the
laces to go
through. One of the reasons I bought these shoes is that Nadal is very tough on his shoes and he pulls his laces very
tight. I
figured they would hold up, but they don't.
Comments: I used to wear Vapors but I tried this first time tried Court Ballistecs Vapor wear out quite
fast on hard
court. Not really happy with the weight and slightly tight at the front. Quite long lasting though..
Comments: I also wear a size 9 and I got these today, and played with them immediately after. They
were great!
They felt a little tight on my feet and I definitely need to get a thinner insole, but they're great!
Comments: Great shoe. I wear a size 9 and with the insole they were way
to small. The insole is very thick. I took it out and replaced it with
a thinner one, and problem is solved. Other than that it's a great
shoe. My new go to shoe. Very happy with my purchase.
Comments: This new 4.3 fits me snug and comfortably at the same time.
Now in comparison to its predecessor the 3.3, its noticeably lighter, little
to no break in time and the support is phenomenal. I use sofsole fit
insoles because it comes with an iffy one just like any other shoes out
there. Now on to the only flaw is the sole durability. It felt like it was less
than the 3.3. I have only had it for over a month and its showing a lot of
wear on the toe, and some on the heel. This great shoes need to come
with a more durable sole. Maybe next year?
Comments: I have had my 4.3's for 4 weeks and I play on average 3 hours everyday and the bottom
looks the same
as the day I got it out of the box. It feels great but only one problem with this that my foot gets BLISTERS!!!!! My right
heel is bright
red.
Comments: Like John above I think these are the best tennis shoes
available, better then the 2.3 or that Adidas Barricades V (I still
have an almost brand new pair, that I don't like to play in, being too
clunky by comparison with the Ballistecs).
Comments: For whatever reason these shoes hurt the outside bottom of my
foot especially my right foot. I have never had this problem with shoes
prior to these. Right now I am up to wearing them for about 20 minutes
before I have to take them off. From what I can tell the inner foot bed
is somewhat raised in the middle and the higher sole is placing stress
on my somewhat pronated foot. I am hoping they will break in or I may
have to try modifying the insole.
Comments: In response to the comment below, Rafa gets custom shoes. In
fact, he has completely different insoles from the stock, customer-based
4.3s that are sold, as well as an extra-long tongue. I also noticed
that after breaking the tongue in, as odd as that sounds, it actually
feels more comfortable at a shorter distance. Trust me, after a while,
it will be fine and you'll still love the shoe.
Comments: Great shoe right out of the box with little to no break in. Night and day difference from
the 3.3 of last year. Much more comfortable and wider in the toe area. Only complaint is
the tongue is about an inch to short. If you use the last lace to lock your heel down, the
laces end up on top of your sock due to it being so short. Hopefully Nike will fix this
soon. I did notice Rafa's shoes during a recent match and it appears his have been
fixed already. All in all one of nike's best ever. Highly recommend.
Comments: First off, the 4.3's replaced my last pair of Breathe Free 2's (which I
stockpiled). To my surprise, the 4.3's provided a better fit in the heel, the arch, and toe
box. The 4.3's feel very secure. The heel is well cupped and comfy, the arch fills my
medium to high profile nicely, and the wide lateral area is very stable. The shoe locks
you in. Fills all the gaps. It is very well cushioned, too. They do not feel elevated. I
thought they might compared to the BF2's. The forefoot has nice flex and the toe box
gives me room and comfort. Not once did I think about the shoes on my feet while I played today. I felt very
confident and secure in them. Perfect right out of the box. Bottom line, nice secure fit, great comfort, great stability,
light feel,
pricey but worth it. Highly recommended!
Comments: Definitely lighter and more comfortable than the previous
version. These are great right out of the box! Like some of the other
users, I forgot I was wearing them.
Comments: Great shoe, so much better than the 3.3. Very comfortable right from the second
I put it on. Only complaint is that the tongue isn't long enough, other than that this shoe is great. Love it.
Comments: A really great shoe! I have been using Nike products for the past 7 years and this is the best
shoe they
have made. It didn't require any break-in period and has perfect
cushioning. Furthermore, fits my wide feet perfectly and offers great durability (no signs of
wear-and-tear even after 3 weeks of heavy 4 hour practice a day).
Comments: These shoes are the best in the series, love the padding at the toes, never had a shoe like it!
Good work
Nike!
Comments: By far, the best pair of sports shoes I've had. Compared to the 3.3, the comfort and
cushioning is
amazing, and they removed just enough weight. For the first 30 seconds after I put them on, all I can think is, wow,
comfy! Then I
just forget about them because they fit my feet so well. It might be that I just got lucky and Nike did exactly the right
thing for my
type of feet - in any case, I'll make sure to stock up on a few pairs while I can, I'm doubtful I'll ever find other tennis
shoes that are
so perfect for me!
Comments: It's a nice looking shoe but for me, the no break-in necessary info is bogus. As soon as I put
it on my
feet started to hurt. I guess it's too narrow for me, I'm not trading it for a bigger size because this already gives me
enough space
on my toes. Took it to the court for the first time, while playing the tightness and pain because of the narrow fit were
minimized
but after stopped playing it lingered for a while, so I'll give it some time but beware that the NO-Break-in necessary
info is very
relative. Overall nice ankle support and cushioning. A very good buy.
Comments: Much improved over the 3.3. This shoe is lighter, better ventilated and more
flexible. The 3.3 needed a long and painful break-in, this shoe takes barely any time to feel
comfortable. It also seems just as hardwearing - the upper on the 3.3 was overkill that ruined
the shoe. Only negatives are that the tongue is too short (laces hit my upper feet when using last eyelet) and not plush
enough (I
can feel the laces dig in if I pull too tight). Overall, this is
a 4.5 star shoe, losing out only on overall comfort/ glove-like feel to the CB 2.3 of 2010.
Comments: I have bought nothing but Barricades for the last three years. I decided to take a chance on
these,
probably one of the best decisions I've made in a while. These shoes are very comfortable and very stable. I played
three hours
today on a hard court and they felt good
and no blisters or rubbing. They sit a little high but it really didn't bother me at all. The
ventilation was great my feet stayed cool the whole time. If you are a fan of Barricades and
you are looking to change it up, give these a try.
Comments: I've had each version of the .3 Ballistec and this one is the best. It's lighter, more
comfortable, supports
better and grips the court better. Not to mention it's the best looking as well. Enjoy!
Comments: Very Pricey..ouch! FINALLY Nike got it right with this 4.3 edition. Very soft compared to their
previous
model. Nicer fitting width..THANK YOU NIKE! Breathes better too. However could use more arch support. With these I
put in my
own
insoles (spenco) for arch support. A Must!
Also the bottoms are slippery..not as sticky like the Adidas Barricades I normally wear. My feet slipped out from under
me as I hit
a
forehand and I fell on my head and neck..it was quite scary. Great shoe for doubles play I suppose. I do like that they
have a
warranty. My little niece said they look cool! LOL!
Comments: These shoes are so nice. The look and feel of these on the court is amazing. Even
though the shoes is kind of heavy, it doesn't feel like it when I played. I had these for about three
weeks and there is little wear on the soles and inner sides of the shoe. All in all, it was the
best $130 dollars I had ever spent on tennis shoes. These are even better than the Propulse 3
and the Barricades. A MUST BUY!
