Comments: Greatest tennis shoe ever. When it looked like these shoes were being obsoleted I bought 8 pair. I've been using these for over a year. I play three to four times per week and have a bad foot and ankle. These are the only shoes that offer the support and cushioning that I need. The durability isn't great but shoes are cheaper than doctor bills!
Comments: Really light shoes. I move incredibly fast in these shoes. It is like being able to glide around when you side step and your acceleration is amazing when having to run down a drop shot or move back for a lob. Also comfortable.
Comments: I've been playing tennis for almost thirty years and in short, the Air Max Breathe Cages are among the best shoes I've ever owned, especially when it comes to durability. I am very surprised to see so many reviews here of people claiming to have had durability issues with the Cages. I can only speak for myself, of course, and can say that my pair has lasted for over a year with no holes at all in the soles, no broken eyelets, no stitching coming apart, or anything like that. In fact I just bought a second pair (but in black) and can't wait until they arrive. I decided to get a second pair of Cages after a correctly fitting pair of Babolat Team All Court IIIs left both of my big toes badly bruised. I also find the Cages very comfortable, but then again everyone's feet are different. I will say, however, that most other brands of shoes are too narrow for me. So, for those of you who have a wider foot, consider the Cages.
I play about three times a week at a 4.0 - 4.5 level, mostly baseliner, do not drag toe on serve. I hope this helps for those of you considering the Cages.
Comments: Do not buy!!!! Totally messed up my feet and had to send back immediately.
Comments: These are terrible shoes. The support is terrible. I have already twisted my ankle 3 times in the first month of use. The durability is also bad there is already a hole in the toe. The fit is bad, after a match the first thing I do is take off my shoes. overall not durable, uncomfortable, and no support. also fairly expensive. DO NOT BUY.
Comments: Shoes will not hold up to usual standard. Literally had three holes in one shoe. The sole ended up being fine, but the outer part of the shoe tears to shreds on hard courts in a matter of two months. Do not recommend.
Comments: This shoe was very comfortable in my opinion, but otherwise, it was a waste of my money. It wore out literally in a matter of a few weeks. I play 5-7 days a week, and even then I think it should have lasted longer. I also think that it sits a little high off the ground, and can cause an easily twisted ankle. I would recommend the Vapors in that category tremendously.
Comments: These were perhaps the worst tennis shoes I have ever tried. The shoe laces tore through the eyelets of the shoe (little holes that you string the laces through), and I found that I couldn't play in these shoes without wearing an ankle brace due to instability. The durability of the outsole was decent, and the shoes are very light weight And they do look pretty awesome, but in my opinion you're better off buying something else.
Comments: Excellent shoes, very durable, great stability and perfect outsole for slight slip for carpet, but not too much. THE PERFECT SHOE.
Comments: Buying these shoes was probably the biggest mistake I have ever made. The arch support broke down within two weeks, and I could barely walk after a long match. After about a month, the cushion was gone and the shoes were cooked.
Comments: Horrible durability! Okay comfort. I would recommend adidas Barricade; they're heavier but much more durable. I also like Fila- lightweight and durable.
Comments: Good shoes, though only about as good as the Wilson Wildcards. Expensive shoes are overrated!
Comments: Firstly, amazingly quick delivery even to the UK, it took about 4 days! But more importantly, these Cages are exactly what I hoped for and expected, noticeably lighter than my Barricade IVs, with excellent ventilation, insanely comfortable and a killer cosmetic! I was recommended to go up half a size, and I think this is excellent advice.
Comments: This shoe is the most uncomfortable shoe i have ever played with in my life.
Comments: You can't beat the comfort and stability provided. The big downside is they are just so easy to wear out. The first pair I bought worn out in 4 months, time to get another under 6-month warranty. Okay, started more practice for the new USTA season, they quickly are being worn out in two months. So, I think it is time to move to other model, even I love them.
Comments: Nice looking shoe cosmetically. Good out of the box feel. Took a little while for the shoe to form to my foot, after that it fit like a shoe should. Good level of cushioning. Durability was OK; it lasted a tad less time than the Barricade 4 but it was more comfortable, plus they are less clunky and cumbersome. Only thing I will say is if you're a toe dragger on serve you will wear through these in 3-4 months if you play 4-5 days a week. Good for orthotic inserts too.
Comments: I usually play tennis 6-7 days a week. I love these shoes, but they wore out in about a month.
Comments: Great shoe -- light and fast, looks great and extremely durable. Best shoes I have ever worn.
Comments: Nike's best yet. No downsides to these shoes. Super comfortable, great support, durable soles and awesome looking. I will definitely buy more of these. Price may be a bit high, but they are worth every penny.
Comments: I would not recommend this shoe. I am a 3.5/4.0 doubles/singles player playing approximately 10 to 12 hours per week on hot Florida hard courts. At first, the shoe felt great, but after 3 months I have developed ankle problems. The shoe has virtually no ankle support. It's just another shoe that looks great but can't deliver the performance. Basically, the sole guarantee is a rip-off. Your feet will wear out before the outer sole.
Comments: I still like the Nike Max Breathe Free II Men's Shoe Green better. I think it was more comfortable and better looking. Yeah, it doesn't last past 6 months, but hey you get another free pair. I bought this from the product voucher they sent me for my guarantee from the Nike Max Breathe Free II men's shoe green. I hate the latest model of the Air Max because looks ugly. But overall it's a great shoe.
Comments: The arch needed to be way better. Plus, it doesn't last the whole six months. It's horrible for wide feet and not comfortable, and my feet hurt after playing.
Comments: I have worn down this shoe in less than one month. They are great shoes, but they do not last long. The "six-month outsole durability guarantee" is a rip off. They will only replace the shoe once.
Comments: These shoes are really great, very minimal break-in. and they feel very light
compared to my last shoe. They are also very breathable. A steal at this price!!! I would definitely buy them again.
Comments: The lime green Agassi's were the last pair of Nikes I've purchased and I wish I could still claim that. I've been a loyal Barricade user but tried these shoes at the store and loved them. The durability is a serious issue. I wore through the soles and split the side fabric in only 2 months of play. I can get a year out of my BII's. These shoes are a rip.
Comments: These shoes have worn down and broken down within two months. My son's small
toe is exposed as the shoes have holes worn right through the leather upper. The soles are also showing significant wear. On clay courts, the clay has seeped through the hole and caused my son to take some nasty falls. The durability is not realistically represented, and I am very disappointed with the quality of this sneaker.
Comments: Just like any other Nike shoe, the sole on this shoe wears out easily. I do like the fact that they added rubber on top of the shoe all around because it helps those people who drag or slide their feet when reaching balls out of the court. If you break into them too soon, you can send them back and get a new pair with the guarantee. This is just another Nike shoe with a little better quality.
Comments: I have had these shoes for just over a month now, and I
am already wearing them out. I play tennis at the least 5 times a week.
Comments: I've had these shoes for almost a month now, and my shoe is ripping apart. I hate this shoe. Worst ever. Don't use it. Bye.
Comments: These are great shoes, worthy of the Breathe Free title. I've owned BFIIs and BF3s, and these are my favorite out of the three. The sole of the shoe isn't as soft or cushioned as the BFIIs, which I like because they feel more responsive. The only thing that I didn't like is that I don't know how to return them if they wear out - there was no slip included in the box for instructions on redeeming the 6 month guarantee. If anyone has info on this, please could you please post it in this feedback section? Comments: This shoe is very comfortable even though the arches are low small for me. I solved that with orthos. The lining feels great around the ankle, but if you overtighten, it can pinch at the bottom of the laces. These are definitely the best looking shoe available by any manufacturer, which is why I want another pair even though three of the shoelace eyelets are tearing open; hopefully a free pair! I've only played for a couple of months, wearing this shoe about fifteen times and the traction has held up nicely.
Comments: These shoes were great at first. But then when they were broken in, the crease for my toes began to press against them causing my foot lots of pain. My foot hurt so bad when I wore them and hours after I had taken them off. I really thought I had a winner to replace my BF II's, but I was wrong. I'm hesitant to go up a half a size, but maybe if I get them as a gift or something. It felt like a total waste and ended up selling them for half the price I paid for them.
Comments: These shoes are great on the court! Very light, but quite durable. The only
thing bad is the selection of colors. Nike has used blue for a lot of them. Why now try maybe red or silver? Overall these are the best tennis shoes I have used in a long time.
Comments: I have worn these shoes for around three months now. The sole has not nearly worn out yet. Theres not even a mark on the sole. I originally wore the Babolat Team All Court shoes. They were good until the started getting a hole through them within 4 months. Then I started wearing these. Since then I have been playing excellent. I 'm a 4.0 player.
Comments: This is the best pair of shoes I have ever worn. For a guy with extremely flat feet, no arch at all, I need a soft comfortable ride like the Breathe Cage gives. These are light and keep my feet cool as well. All around, I love these shoes and would recommend them to anyone with a low arch.
Comments: A pretty awesome shoe. I'm about a 5.5 and these shoes are great to play in. Durabilty didn't last me 6 months so I received another pair, which is nice.
Comments: These are the most comfortable tennis shoes that are out there. However the shoes do not grip the hard indoor court. They are meant for outdoor hard court, not indoor hard court
Comments: Definitely comfortable and cushy, but I have a huge problem with the ankle support. It feels nice, like a pillow around the ankles, but for more aggressive play (sliding on hard courts, etc), these shoes just aren't going to cut it. Looks-wise, the new bronze versions are killer. I'd get a pair just to wear off the court.
Comments: I used the Max Breathe II for a while and I loved those shoes. I then decided to try the Air Vapor IV and I started to develop feet problems, at the point that I had to tape my feet every time. I liked the low ride on those but they did not provide enough support (I am 6'-4" and weight 196 lbs). I then moved to the Adidas a3 Accelerator that I totally hated: what a bad shoe!
Finally I am back to the Max Breathe and this time I went for the Cage. Overall they are very similar to the MB II. They are a bit roomier, especially in the front; the heel support and the overall fit are very similar. My feet are back to normal and I don't have to tape them. From now on I will stick with the Max Breathe. Both II and Cage work for me.
Comments: Not as good as the BF2 they seem to snug and I hate the new opening. Why change the best sneaker ever made stick with the BF 2 forget the cage with its ugly colors.
Comments: I wear a size 15 in every brand except Nike, where I usually need a 16. Since these aren't offered in a 16 I went for the 15 and am very happy. They fit true to size and are great to play in. I forget they are on my feet as soon as I hit the court. I hope this helps other big-foots, as it is hard to find anywhere to actually try on shoes this large.
Comments: These shoes are great! I have had them for about 3 weeks, and I have worn them out quite a bit but underneath both the shoes, on the part that doesn't touch the ground, the material has SPLIT! Each shoe has a small crack in the material. I guess that my shoes are defective. Apart from this, I still like these shoes a lot. I found them to have a little more grip than the Adidas A3 Accelerators and slightly less stable due to the more flexible outsole but are nonetheless very supportive. I like these shoes Very much!
Comments: Just got these shoes today and they require no break in. They are really light, especially when compared to Barricade IVs. The heel cushion is much better than the Barricade IVs or any other tennis shoe I have tried. The looks are even better than the high expectations I already had for them. Not sure about the durability, but the six month warranty will cover that if it becomes a problem. They seem really stable and surprisingly fit like a dream on my wide foot. The sizing is also right on for me. I would not have any doubts clicking the ADD TO CART button if I were you and I will probably buy these shoes in the future. These are by far my favorite Nike shoes ever made.
Comments: I have been wearing the Cages for three weeks now and they are very comfortable and feel light. Nevertheless, the fabric between the rubber on the upper part of the shoes starts to tear already. In particular at the swoosh and the section close to the little toe.
Comments: Amazing shoe! From the word go! Very comfortable and Im now faster around the court. Love them!
Comments: These shoes are incredible to play in. The built in tongue feels really nice on the court and relieves pressure on the top of the foot. The hard rubber on the outside "cage" makes these shoes feel solid yet comfortable.
Comments: Thought BR II were the best but Nike Air Max Breathe Cages are even better. Tight tongue area now looser and allows easier wearing of ankle braces. Very, very comfortable for me, a plantar fasciitis sufferer. Works well with my orthotics. Big thumbs up!
Comments: Perhaps the best Nike tennis shoe ever created is unfortunately flawed. I'm a junior and train at Bollettieri in Florida, and myself and quite a few others have experienced the same problem. I bought a pair about three weeks ago and within three days, the rubber in the middle of the shoe on the bottom broke apart form stress caused because of what seemed to be a poor glue job between the foam and hard plastic pieces of the shoe. I thought this was simply a defect and returned them for a new pair. After two tournaments away, my new pair (only the left shoe, and I am a lefty) broke in the same spot. I intend to return them and give another pair a go; but have to recommend not buying them as they aren't reliable.
Comments: WOW. This is possibly the best shoe I have ever worn. Right out of the box there is no break in required. If you liked the Breathe Free 2's you will absolutely love this shoe. I dont think I'm ever going to wear another shoe again. I am a competitive player and a teaching pro, so we will see how long these hold up. However, you have the six-month durability warranty to back you up regardless.
Comments: Very durable and comfortable shoe. Feels great, just like the Breathe Free II. Anyone who wants a good shoe to play with for a long period of time should try this shoe out.
Comments: Not nearly as good as the Breathe Free II. I tried this shoe out for a few days and found that my heel slips way too much and that there is too much toe room. I highly recommend sticking with the Breathe Free II. It's a much better shoe. The only advantage of the new shoe in my opinion is increased durability.
Comments: These are the best shoes I have ever bought. Require no break in, and are extremely comfortable. Not only are they a great looking shoe they perform well also. I love these kicks!
Comments: I got these today and used them for 2.5 hours today, and they are very comfortable. I had the old version a while ago, and I must say, these are much nicer and more comfortable, my last pair of sneakers were the new Reebok pump triple break, which I had for 3 weeks and they were horrible, and started to smell after a couple of days. On the court these were very fast and gripped the court well (rubber courts). I recommend these to any tennis player
Comments: Great shoe, I have played with the Max Breathe II for a long time and decided to try these out and they are amazing. They are broken in after about three sets and feel light on the court. Highly recommended!
