Customer feedback
Comments: I agree with the two posters who say the shoes have changed. I cut a newer pair in half and compared it to an older pair I had. The construction of the newer pair was far inferior to the old pair. The foam, the heel counter, wrinkles in the tongue were inferior to the old, although externally superficially they looked identical! I would prefer to pay more and get the same quality rather than a cheapened knock-off. I hope the 2012 version returns to the style and quality of the original. In the mean time I'm back to trying other brands after years of loyalty to the Pro-Staff Classics.
Comments: These shoes are NOT durable. After only six weeks the bottoms wore through
with three inch long openings along the bottom inner edge on both shoes. The insides seem to wear quickly too. My feet did stay a little cooler in these shoes than in others I've had but the mesh dirties easily and their lack of durability will definitely keep me from buying them again.
Comments: Durability of this shoe is not as good as before. Mine got worn out around the inner side after 2 months, and soon the entire bottom of the shoe just neatly opened up along the borderline on both inner and outer sides.
Comments: I agree with the comment that the soles are not as durable as they used to be. I've only been playing weekend tennis for a total of 9 hours each week since I got my new pair around the beginning of March and the soles are now down to foam around the front-inside area. The new pair actually looks worse than my old pair. Unfortunately, I will have to look for another shoe that's as comfortable and maneuverable as this shoe. Too bad indeed.
Comments: I have worn Wilson Prostaff shoes for a long time and had been very satisfied.
However, I don't think the soles are as durable as they used to be. I'm a 58 yr old, 3.5 club player, and play around 10 hrs a week. Lately, I've been wearing the soles down to the foam in just two weeks of play (i tend to wear the forward inner corners of the sole mainly). I'm going to have to look for another shoe. Too bad since I always liked the fit and low-to-the-ground feel of these shoes. (this comment applies to the Prostaffs with the leather uppers as
well).
Comments: If I wear size 11.5, what size should I purchase? Thanks!
Comments: This shoe is really comfortable, I move really well in these these. Good tight fit. Style is lacking a bit, though. Overall, comfortable shoe with a good price. Definitely recommended.
Comments: I have worn the mesh shoe since 1978 & have always been impressed with the quality & price. Provides necessary support & is a comfortable shoe.
Comments: I love these shoes! They require some break-in (a day or two of walking and playing) and they will be perfect for the rest of their life. Do order a size or half a size smaller, as these shoes run big. The shoes have a fair amount of weight, due to the thick insole and outsole, which are good for anti-shock and durability. I feel that these are no-nonsense-get-the-job-done shoes. I ordered another pair because I like them so much. I think I will stick with these for a long time, especially since the price is so nice! Also, I heard Pete Sampras use to wear these shoes before Nike signed him on.
Comments: I have a size 14 shoe and this shoe is comfortable as can be for me...it is a great casual shoe, and is not a bad shoe to play tennis in either (but it take time for me to get used to them). Overall I think a good buy for the price.
Comments: I have bought other Wilson tennis shoes in size 12, but I ordered these and size 12 is much too large. So, consider buying these one size smaller than usual.
Comments: Nice shoes for the price. Very narrow in the toe, so if you have a wide foot forget it. As usual TW gave good service, did not charge for return to correct my error.
Comments: The only complaint I have is the size. I wear 11.5 in other shoes but these are too big in 11.5.
Considered ordering a size smaller after reading feedback, but there were only a few that mentioned size. I can play in them and
they feel fine otherwise. Will buy again, but 10.5 next time.
Comments:This is a great shoe fits my low arch. This shoe is very comfortable. The shoe is pretty
narrow the reason why my foot slips around a bit but not a big problem. I give the shoe 9 out of 10 of the shoes
that I have worn. I like how it is looks so casual; I tend to buy another pair.
Comments: I ordered these shoes and put them on at home. I wear size 11.5 in all other type of
shoes, but these felt like 12.5. No kidding, my toes were an inch and a half from the front. I walked around in the
house and my arches began aching, even after I tried putting arch supports in to solve the problem. I can't
imagine trying to play in these. By no means is this a fault of Tennis Warehouse, but bad shoe design by
Wilson.
Comments: I just wore out my first pair of ProStaff Mesh shoes. I'm a bigger player (250 lbs) and play at the 3.0 level 3 times per week. These shoes lasted 8 months, which is pretty average wear. These have been great shoes for me. These shoes have great stability. I just bought 2 more pairs. br>From: Dave, Portland, OR, USA. 04/06 Comments: This shoe is comfortable and has great cushion. It is relatively
narrow and your toes will slide around a bit but the support, and sole's are great. The mesh
really keeps the shoes airy and it feels great. I think for the price you can't get anything better
then this pair of shoes. The looks are great, old style, nothing fancy. It seems like a pair of
running shoes but with better grip. Can't go wrong with these pairs in this price range.
Comments: Favorite tennis shoe. Relatively cheap, cushioned, well ventilated,
lasts for a while. Fits my low arches perfectly. It was longer than another pair of Wilson
shoes of the same size. Old school kicks rule!
Comments: The Wilson Men's ProStaff Mesh is the best shoe for tennis. The
sole seems to last longer than most and the comfort has a very cushiony feel. I also really
like the way the mesh helps your feet to breathe on those hot courts. It also gives a feeling
that the shoes are lighter than an all leather upper one.
Comments: These shoes offer great comfort and support. I hardly feel a thing
after playing for hours, before using the Adidas Clima Cool Ultimate, my foot start hurting
after just a few games. Great looks, couldn't be happier with these shoes.
Comments: The Wilson Pro Staff is one of the best shoes I have ever worn. Not
that it is only a very cheap shoe, it also offers lots of comfort and durability. I've tried many
different tennis shoes in my life, and I believe that the Wilson Pro Staff is a top 3!
Comments: I bought this shoe and found that it was terrible. After two times of
playing, my feet and knees hurt. The shoes have minimal support and for me, they make
me very injury prone. I am going back to a more expensive shoe. It appears in this case,
you get what you pay for.
Comments: After reading all the positive reviews, I went ahead and purchased it.
Big disappointment. I wear a 9.5 but the
shoe felt more like a 10. The shoe felt very narrow and long. My toes kept sliding while on
hard court. I really do not understand all the
exceptional reviews. Cannot really describe it but it was the most uncomfortable shoe I
have purchased in a while. I normally try on a
pair before purchasing it online but in this case, no retail stores carry them. Lesson learned.
Comments: I am surprised that everyone likes this shoe. My experience with
them is that they did not have great stability
or arch support. After a couple of times on the court with them I started to develop shin
splints. So now I just use them as street shoes. I
need a much more stable shoe with better cushioning and support for tennis.
Comments: This was my second order from Tennis Warehouse and I couldn't
be more pleased. My shoes and hats came earlier than I was promised. The Order was
intact and perfect. I can't imagine buying Tennis equipment from anyone else. The Prices
and Service is perfect.
Comments: These shoes are by far the best I have ever had. I am just a
freshman in high school and these shoes really help when I have to do a lot of stop and go
drills.
Comments: Very comfortable shoe. I can even wear these w/out socks and it is
still like wearing a cloud. They are lightweight and are more airy and cool than the leather.
Comments: I have played in this model Wilson tennis shoe for over 20 years.
Have tried others but these are the best. They are next to impossible to find in retail stores,
probably because they are relatively inexpensive. Order mine two pair at a time from Tennis Warehouse.
