Wilson HyperLast Spin 19 String Customer feedback

Comments: I've only played with these strings for an hour of singles and an hour of doubles, so it remains to be seen how they will hold up over the long term. I'm using a Head Microgel Radical OS, mains @ 57 lbs, crosses @ 60 lbs. I'm getting lots of spin with nice control and feel (and no harshness). This is a control oriented hybrid string, and it's great for minimizing the power of an oversized racquet. I hit with top from the forehand and both top and slice from a one-handed backhand. With this string I find I can swing away with more confidence that the ball will stay in play. Compared to my other Radical which has Luxilon TIMO 17 mains @54 lbs and Pacific Classic Gut 16 @60 lbs, the Hyperlast Spin Hybrid has less power, more control, and I believe more spin. I also like the feel and sound from these strings better than the Luxilon/gut hybrid.

Comments: This is the best string I have ever tried. I would do a hybrid set up though. I used to string my racquets with Wilson Sensation 17 and I think it was already the time to switch strings. I tried this string out and it was really great. I can put a lot of topspin on the ball which my hitting partner really hate to it. 9/10 for this one!

Comments: 4.0 High Spin Player. Softer than Pro Blend and lasts. I'll shred Hurricane in 3 weeks. This lasts 6 weeks before losing playability.

Comments: I have played with the same set for approx 30 hours which is phenomenal for me. Gamma TNT 19 were lasting about 8-10 hours and where much harder on my arm and did not generate as much spin. Excellent spin/control, power is low but I expected that and was not concerned as I generate my own pace. Male, 4.5, Head Extreme Team

Comments: I tried the 19g in a full set up on a babolat pure storm ltd. I dropped my tension down around 5 lbs. I'm getting some really good pop and spin on serves and groundies feel solid and the ball is heavy off the bed. Volleys are crisper than anything I've hit with to date. I'd compare it to black code 18 g, only so far it's softer. Surprising I know.

Comments: This string was pretty good. I had wrist issues from playing with the normal poly strings. Still broke them relatively easy, but for the price and since I am stringing myself, well worth it. No pain at all! I had been using NXT 16 because of the wrist pain and was not comfortable going to a stiff string, but decided to give these a try, mostly because of the 19 gauge in the mains. I am a 4.0 female player and I play about three hours a day.

Comments: I really like these strings. It adds plenty of spin to my shots and some extra pop. I play with Wilson nCode nTour 95. The strings do move a lot as the it loses tension. Very durable and does not hurt my arm.
From: Jamesat23, Seattle, WA, USA. 3/09

Comments: I've used this string 2x and I really like it. I'm getting good feel on the ball and it doesn't hurt my arm or shoulders. I find that I can really swing out and my shots are landing deeper, but I'm getting enough spin for the ball to stay in. The strings move a lot, but I'm fine with that. I'm liking this so far.

Comments: I liked this string a lot. Good control, spin and bite. Very easy on the arm and shoulder, which was surprising. I tested a lot of different string and this ended up my second choice. The one factor that led me to go with a different string set up (WeissCannon Silver 17L 63# Mains and Forten Sweet 17L 65# Crosses) was the power. I wasn't able to generate enough power on the serve and groundstrokes compared to the other strings just mentioned. If you are looking for a little less power and want to keep the ball in the court more often, give these a try!

Comments: This string plays very well! I usually go for Prince Pro-Blend, which plays a whole lot stiffer; however, after using this string, I will not be going back. I first got it for my Wilson K-Factor 6.1 Team (18x20) and strung it at 55lbs. This is the perfect balance of endurance and feel. Great spin, excellent power potential (you still have to swing), great endurance and great price. If you're used to having a string with a very soft feel and want more endurance, get this one. If you still want that "trampoline" effect, don't get it.

Comments: String has a pretty good feel for a string that produces a thud. Great control...great price. String lower on than normal tension. I went down 4 lbs. I am staying with it, I break strings about every hour and half. I have been using this one now for 2.5 hours. Mains look to be in great condition! Definitely worth a try!

Comments: A good spin-friendly racquet but still a little still, so I would recommend stringing it at a slightly normal tension. I found this string to be pretty durable; I've used one set for 2 months of everyday, 3-4 hour practices and it hasn't broken.
From: Lenneth, CA, USA. 12/06

Comments: Spin production is mainly attributed to player technique, not string. But strings are still a factor. Hyperlast is very spin friendly but as many others have said, its a very dead string. I would suggest stringing this one at a slightly lower tension to compensate for its deadness.
From: Frank, Tustin, CA, USA. 12/06

Comments: Although I did lose a little bit of power I could really swing out on my strokes. I really noticed a difference on my serves, I was able to move the ball more effectively around the box and my slice really came alive as opposed to playing with Sensation 17s for the last couple of years. I am a 3.5 counterpuncher and this string allows me to attack yet be defensive. I strongly recommend this string.
From: Cary, Plano, TX, USA 07/05

Comments: I play Wilson HPS 6.0 (18x20 pattern). Because my pattern generating spin sometimes might be problem but this strings saves the day. If you want spin get this one. Also if you prefer dead string also try this. This sting on string machine will just stretch few centimeters so this one is dead solid. But I like it because you will get great control believe me.
From: Bojan, Croatia. 01/05

Comments: I tried a lot of string with my new Liquidmetal Prestige Mid, and found most strings were not able to help me with the spin and control. LM Prestige has a tight string pattern that cause my loss of kicks on the second serve. This string is great, very soft for my tennis elbow, and I got great control and spin too. I can really pop overheads and serves with this string. I am a competitive player, and compete with a serious tennis elbow.
From: Michael, San Jose, CA, USA. 08/04

Comments: This is very easy to string. It produces good spin with excellent control for ball placement especially on drop volleys. Overall, it’s slightly better than Head's Intellitour 17. (Head i.S1 at 58lbs)
From: Lou, Canada. 3/04

Comments: String is obviously a personal preference issue, however, after using NXT, Luxilon, Wilson Sensation, Prince Sweet Perfection, and many others, this is the best for overall play, durability, feel and spin. I play with the Wilson Triad T3 and feel the string is a nice compliment to the racquet. Should you string your own racquets you will love the ease of the 19 gauge. I typically get approximately two months of play at two to three times a week. Definitely worth a try!
From: Steve, TX, USA. 3/04

Comments: This string has been very good. I use a Yonnex T-RD Titanim 70 (95 sq. in.) long. It lasted through out my USTA men's 4.0 league. I play three to four days a week and hit against the backboard a few nights of the week. The string pattern of my racket is 18m/20c so it will last compared to 16/20 or 16/18 string pattern rackets. I have power but prefer to hit with spin because it has a better chance of staying in.
From: Ev Pascual, Lahaina, HI, USA. 1/04

Comments: This string is dead! If you're looking for spin, look at Gamma's TNT2 18g string. The stamina crosses are not so lively to play with in the first place, and then the tensilast fibers are even more dead. Don't get this string!
From: Andy, Los Angeles, CA, USA. 12/03

Comments: This is the best string I played with! Plays just like Gamma TNT Fusion Plus with little more spin due to very thin mains. It is not as durable as Gamma TNT Fusion Plus, but it lasted 4 weeks with Babolat elastocross string savers. I used that string on my Head I.s12 (power racquet).
From: Tom, Lincoln Park, NJ 9/03

Comments: This string plays pretty well. I'm a junior tennis player who plays from the baseline and hits heavy topspin groundstrokes. Even though this string is supposed to be really durable, it broke in a week. But that's what you should expect from a really thin gauge despite how durable it's made out to be.
