Head Radical Pro White/Black Men's Shoes Customer feedback

Comments: I've always been a big fan of KSwiss because of the durability and solid feeling of the shoes, but they keep getting more and more expensive and seemed to wear out quicker. I finally tried the Head Pro Radical. I like that they are light, the soles have good traction and they have a great fit. They too however start to show extreme wear on the soles after 8-10 months of playing 2 time a week. I think for a casual player these are good shoes in the 60-75 price range.

Comments: I've had these shoes for a week now. It felt nice at first, there was ok traction, ankle support, and little break in time. Couple things I hate were the traction becomes less (I think), it could use a little more ventilation, and for a 6 months guarantee shoe, it has almost none. I would go through a regular Wilson shoe with no guarantee in about a week (High school practice and club practice combined) and a regular guaranteed shoe in about a 2-3 months, and this is starting to see medium wears only after a week. I would say this has only about 2 more weeks before I can get a replacement, which I will only use as a back up shoe.

Comments: I just switched to the Radical from the Prestige and I am not impressed. I only switched because TW no longer has any Prestiges in my size and the Radical is significantly softer. For some this may be a bonus as this is a more comfortable shoe, however the performance suffers in my opinion. There is not as much heel stability and the shoe feels a little wobbly as a result, due also to the "high off the ground" feeling that they give. These have the exact same looking outsole and tread pattern as the Prestige, so I fear that durability may be an issue. My Prestiges lasted 3 months playing 4 or 5 times per week.

Comments: Absolutely fantastic shoe. I've tried a wide variety of shoes, including other Head shoes, and these are by far the most comfortable tennis shoes I've ever worn. My last shoes were the Head Speed Pro and these are far more comfortable though those were also good, comfortable shoes. These just felt like they were made for my feet from the moment I put them on. Absolutely no break in required, no hot spots, no irritation. I've worn them both on clay and hard courts and am seriously impressed. I just ordered a second pair in case they discontinue them as shoes typically only last me 4-6 months.

Comments: Replaced my Barricade 5's and was comfortable from the first try... Barricade 6's are too narrow and don't fit right and I thought it was going to replace them but thanks to head radical pro it was easy... It is like somebody pushed the easy button.

Comments: Not Good at All Be Very Careful. I love and use NB CT1004 D and use NB for cross training as well. Don't know why a crazy idea came to my mind to try these. This shoe has high heel cushioning, which makes it uncomfortable on the toes in early stages. I'm 5, 7- 168 lbs, lefty and move very fast in the court, and this damn thing owing to high heel has put so much pressure on my left toe and pinched so hard while taking low drop shots from opponents that I ended up having blood clotting under my Toe nail. My podiatrist had to cut the edges of my nail to drain blood clot, painful right hence the caution. I have narrow feet, size US 9 and when it's new it's even tight on my feet. It's not light but weight is not an issue, you get used to it. It's the high heel cushioning that kills your toe. Just ordered another NB CT1004 D. Please learn from my experience, learned my lesson the hard way, I'm not going to try anything else than NB CT004 D, extremely comfortable, light and stable makes me move like a bullet in the court. NB is so comfortable that I can play with full movement with quarter of my toenail absent covered with a bandage. So you can compare yourself both.

Comments: Absolutely the worst shoe I've had in the last 5 years. These things are so heavy and block feeling I truly can't understand how anyone would like them. I'm used to a lighter shoe and made the mistake of buying these. They literally slowed me down on the court. They also just generally hurt the arches of my feet even while doing nothing active. I have a pair only worn about 5 times if anyone wants them :)

Comments: These are the best shoes I have ever worn in any sport! Seriously. For me, the fit was perfect right out of the box. Didn't even wear them around the house before playing in them. First outing was two hours of singles and the only way that I knew I had different shoes on was because they were way lighter than the Barricades that I had been wearing. No hot spots, just perfect. The shoes are sharp looking and have quite a bit of 'technology' in them. The insole is quality, not just some thin rubber insole. The heel material is soft and there is a little flange on the outside of the forefoot to try and reduce roll-over. My shoe history is Prince and adidas Barricades. I have gone through three sets of Barricades and thought they were the ultimate shoe. I will buying additional pairs of the HEAD Radicals in case they change them in any way.

Comments: I have had these shoes for about 8 months now. I have a very arched wide foot and these shoes fit comfortably. The pros are: highly durable-I have used these shoes for pretty much everything. They grip the courts like lizards to the walls. You can hear them squeak as you pivot about them. Their fit is comfortable and the quality is brilliant! The cons are: They let water in from the air pores on the bottom! If you were to walk on wet grass or step over a puddle en-route to the courts you will know what I am telling. Secondly they are a tad heavy. I would definitely go for these shoes again.

Comments: This shoe's durability isn't up to it for me. I usually go through shoes pretty quickly, but come on! I've gone through this shoe in about a month and it is the off season. Overall not a great deal. I find that it is comfortable, but it doesn't have that low to the ground feel that I love in shoes. I felt a bit slower in these shoes than I did in the CC Genius.
From: John, Grand Rapids, MI, USA 03/10

Comments: Pretty good shoe. One problem is that on the outside of your foot it is not very stable so you slide a little bit. Otherwise great shoe very comfortable but wears out quickly.
From: Jackson, Boulder, Colorado, USA 01/10

Comments: Awesome shoes, very comfortable, Good durability. I think it is also lighter than the Barricade, feels similar in fit. Great shoe. I've been recommending them to all my tennis buddies.

Comments: My main complaint is that this shoe has pretty bad durability. It's the off season for school so I don't play as much as I usually would, and these are still wearing out in less than a month! even with the 6 month durability guarantee it just doesn't do it for me. Feels too high off the ground for me, and I lost speed with these shoes. They look great though, and are very comfortable. Lateral support also quite nice. Overall, I think I can find a better shoe than this at this price.
From: John, Michigan, USA 01/10

Comments: The comfort is very very good in these shoes. The durability? Terrible! When the high school season was going on these wore out in a little over 3 weeks!
From: Conner, SD, USA NTRP: 4.0-4.5 08/09

Comments: Comfortable to walk in but way too wobbly for the tennis court - very little lateral support. If you wear Adidas Barricades, don't switch to this shoe.
From: Steve, Texas 06/09

Comments: Very good shoes. Require some break-in. Good comfort, stability and support. Durability is a suspect since after playing in them 4 times a week for a couple month on hard courts the outsole is already flat.
From: Anon. 05/09

Comments: Out of the box comfort if you have narrow feet. I played four sets and had some sore little toes (and I have narrow feet). Hopefully that will change with some break in. Overall I was pleased, but they seemed to lack cushioning in the forefoot.
From: Dennis P, Houston, TX. 4/09

Comments: These kicks definitely have out of the box comfort. Very nice shoe overall. Cushioning in the heel is exceptional, and the shoe plays lighter than its weight. My feet are on the wider side and these shoes accommodate them with no problem. I switched from Asics Gel Resolutions (hated the colors of the AGR 2s) and am very happy with these shoes. The Radicals offer better lateral and ankle support, play just as light and come with a 6 month guarantee. What's not to like? Recommended.
From: Chris, Tulsa, OK - USA. 4/09

Comments: Out of the box comfort and much cooler than the previous Prestige shoes. This shoe fits true to size unlike last year's shoes. They provide good court mobility and cushions well. I like the clean black and white lines. All in all it's a keeper!
From: Jeff, Jackson, TN. 4/09

Comments: First of all, the most important aspect of any shoe, at least to me as I get a little older, is the fit. Having said that, this shoes fits my narrow foot well while not really being a narrow fitting shoe and also runs true to length. Plenty of toe room for me. I also tried the new Prestige Pro and it was somewhat wider and came up a little higher around the ankle (two things I didn't like) although neither shoe is as clunky as last year's Prestige. The stuff that Head put in for the cushioning up front and in the heel does just that; cushion. Very well actually. This Radical Pro is a comfortable shoe. The mesh stuff is nice. Have always been a fan of mesh in shoes and this model has an ample amount. Cosmetically, the looks are pretty good too, maybe not quite as sharp and colorful as the Prestige Pro, but not bad. Clean and pretty low key. All in all, I have to say that I am somewhat impressed by this shoe, and as such, can recommend it. I will never wear it out, but I imagine that the wear guarantee is a bonus for some.
