Customer feedback
Comments: Just getting back into tennis after a 20 year layoff. First year back, I only played once or twice a month. Then three times a week and finally 5 times a week. Decided it was time to get a better shoe. Right out of the box was able to play a three set doubles match and had no problems with them. Plus, my feet didn't feel as sore as they normally did and after each day of play foot problems (heel and achilles tendon) disappearing. My foot is 10.5 but these were 11 and they fit perfect so I would suggest using half size larger then your normal size.
Comments: This was a great shoe while it lasted but for me it did not have good enough durability. The heel support was nice and rigid with the hard plastic cage on the back of the shoe and there was no break in required. However, I expect my shoes to last me nearly the whole 6 month
warranty period. I play 4 or 5 days a week and these lasted just under 3 months. My previous Prince shoes lasted a good 5.5 months under the same wear and tear, to the point that I thought I might not be able to get new ones under warranty. These had a hole to my sock after 3 months. I will also mention that I have medium-wide feet and these fit comfortably, which is rare among the performance shoes.
Comments: Most comfortable tennis shoes I have ever owned! Been playing for 6 years and I've tried them all but none compare.
Comments: My favorite shoes so far. This is my first pair of tennis shoes that is made by Head. I really thought Head didn't know how to make good shoes, I was totally wrong. I have wide toes, these shoes are like made specific for my foot. Good cushion, good traction, comfort, no break in, (don't know its durability yet), did I miss anything? Highly recommend for wide toes tennis players. (My last tennis shoes was Nike Ballistec 1.3, which is a little bit too narrow for me, in fact, I think the Head Prestige has better cushion) I'll stick with Head shoes from now on.
Comments: This is a great shoe. It is both durable and comfortable. I've had a pair for about 5 months and they still have life left in them. I would definitely recommend them as your next pair of tennis shoes.
Comments: Great shoe! Was a Nike Breathe Cage wearer for a couple of years but these really blow them away. Head has, in my opinion, hit a home run with the Prestige Pro shoe!
Comments: Comfortable right out of the box, top of the line, 6 month outsole warranty-nice. They also go well with Head Prestige racquets.
Comments: The most comfortable shoes I have worn in years. No break-in period required. So far holding up well.
Comments: I have played with the shoe for more than a year on clay. They are very durable and offer good traction and stability. A bit on the heavy side but they offer very good cushioning. I am buying now another two pairs to play with them on hard court.
Comments: I was a devout fan of Head's Contour tech shoes, and bought many pairs before they stopped making them. As these shoes have worn down, I've looked for other options; my last pair before purchasing the Prestige Pros was a pair of KSwiss Defiers, which were comfortable and fit my wide forefoot but were also a bit spongy. These new Head shoes seem quite well cushioned and perhaps a bit stiffer than the KSwiss but they are not stable in the way I would like. I could not seem to get my footing when playing in them, even though they felt very supportive. I think the problem is the high profile; they're just too much like running shoes for my taste. Obviously they're loaded with technology; they remind me of those smart phones that do everything but allow one to make an easy phone call. Bring back the Contours!
Comments: Thought these shoes were great out of the box, incredibly comfortable. Then I played in them. These shoes don't inspire a lot of confidence when changing direction. The forefoot seems to lean as I try to cut. The outsides of both ankles were sore after I finished playing. I am only 160 lbs, so I usually don't have this kind of issue. These shoes can only be described as soft. Definitely not the support of the Barricades they are often compared to.
Comments: Wonderful comfort out of the box. Felt great with good support on the day I received them. Hopefully, I will not encounter the ripping problems some have indicated previously. My only complaint is what passes as a toe guard does not come all the way to the top of the shoe. Not a big deal, as a little shoe goo works just fine.
Comments: I've been a devout K-Swiss user, but wanted to try these out after reading good reviews. Glad I did, out of the box these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever played in. Stability and traction seem very strong. Played over 8 hours in blistering heat this past weekend and my feet still felt great after. I think I'm a convert to Head shoes now.
Comments: This is a very good shoe with no break in required, it is one of the best shoes I have owned. A wonderful shoe from a great brand.
Comments: Great, no break in, comfortable, and slightly on the heavy side.
Comments: Very comfortable and durable shoe. I've had the same pair since September 09 and I'm just now getting a hole in the sole. Usually I put holes in the toe area after about 1 1/2 months but not with this shoe. It is a bit heavy but a great comfortable durable shoe for hard court and clay court play.
Comments: These shoes are very comfortable with no break in required. They provide very good support and allow me to move quickly on the court with no problem. I love the styling and colors. I haven't had them long, so we'll see how they wear, but they are probably the most comfortable shoe I've had without sacrificing support.
Comments: Great shoe for clay; have worn them every day for a month, about 4 hours on court a day, they still look brand new. The first shoe I have found that doesn't hurt my feet and doesn't slip on clay.
Comments: Great Shoes!! I've primarily worn barricades since I started tennis, and also Nike Cages(which I really hated), as well as some Prince shoes (T9, T22). Performance-wise these are one of the best tennis shoes I've ever tried. I feel quick on my feet, traction is great, and these shoes are extremely comfortable. There is quite a bit of room in the toe box, and the uppers are very soft.
I'm not too sure about the durability of these shoes as a slide a lot on hard courts which tend to eat the outsoles of my shoes. Only complaint I have is that I've noticed that the plastic piece on the bottom of the shoe is grinding down when I slide =/. These shoes required no break-in period.
Comments: Great shoes. I am a little worried about the durability of the shoe because 3 months in and I'm already slipping a little bit on the court. Great fit, comfort, and traction.
Comments: I just got the shoes yesterday and played 4 sets of tennis today. They are the most comfortable (out of the box) tennis shoe I have ever purchased. There is absolutely no break in period.
Comments: I bought this shoes and I have used them in 5 days of tennis. They are very similar to the adidas Barricade shoes in almost every aspect from design to comfort and weight. They feel a little on the heavy side. I'm just a little disappointed that the outsole from 4 days of tennis and the pivot point gas already disappeared, making me a little concerned about the durability of the outsole.
Comments: First positive surprise, the shoes are delivered with a good quality protection bag with Head colors, quite practical to protect clothes in a tennis bag, especially for clay players. The overall quality of the shoes seems very good and a lot of attention is paid to details. The design, look and colors are really nice. I have a relatively large foot and I felt immediately perfectly comfortable in this shoes that fit right to the size. There was no significant break-in period needed compared to what was needed with my previous Barricade. On the court the shoe is very stable and provided good support. Good response on the lateral side with adequate traction. Overall I am quite impressed with these shoes, which seems to provide just the right balance of comfort and stability with a nice design. Definitely a solid choice.
