Comments: I have played with two racquets in my life, a Wilson ripper I bought 5 years ago, and this racquet I have used this month, and I can say that this racquet is amazing, at first I was having some problems to find the sweetspot, but after the third match, my game turn to be the best of my life, this racquet gave me all the power I needed, and the control is so amazing. The only thing I can complain is that it comes with synthetic gut strings from stock, instead of megablast.

Comments: I've played with several brands, mainly all 170 or 175 grams. This is by far the best. Honestly, I don't know how they make such a lightweight racket with such power and control. I have played with the Blackjack and the Royalflush, and neither of them come close to the power/control of this bad boy. Definitely a great investment. I got one, then a week later got another one, because I knew if my first one broke I would immediately return to the same racket. But I've had this racket for a little over a year, and it's holding up perfectly.

Comments: I demo'd 8 racquets. Black Jack, Royal Flush, 03 Ignite, Metallix 170, Extreme 170, Mean Streak, GB 250 165, O3 Speedport. The Extreme 170 out performed the others by a large margin for me. Crazy power, wonderful feel and fantastic control. You can't beat this racquet especially for the price.
Comments: I recently started playing racquetball again and really hit a lot of pass shots and try to kill it on almost every shot. I'm not gonna lie i was playing with a cheap starter racquet's, but i can say i was very surprised in the power this racquet's has compared to my starter one. Love the new racquet's thanks.
Comments: This is an awesome racquet. Pretty sweet power, and Absolutely great control (From both front/back courts)!! Light, and pretty good for wrist flicks. Also if you're a player who uses the back wall a decent amount, this racquet is great. Even a tap sends it flying to the front wall (if need be). My only complaints are (and idk if this is just because it was from this site or what not) that the strings that come pre-installed on the racquet are generic Head Synthetic Gut, (it is not megablast as this site suggests). And also the grip last for a short time before becoming dirty, and also not as useful. I suggest either a new grip, or what I use is a glove, which usually alleviates the problem. Otherwise, amazing racquet.
Comments: This is a great racquet! It provides a wonderful combination of power and control. It works great for all types of swings-slow and fast. If you are in the market for an upgrade or need a consistent back-up, look no further... This is it!!

Comments: This stick is amazing! I've been a long time Ektelon junkie, but after hearing so many reliability issues with the O3 series, and having the same cracking issues with my beloved RG, I wanted to try something more durable. Now granted I've only been playing with
Comments: LOVE IT! Have tried demos of both HEAD and EKTELON. The Head Extreme 170 felt the best. Great control! Drive serves, backhand, "lob" serves, and ceiling balls. Able to put the ball right where I want it with ease.
Comments: Awesome Stick! Best racquet I've used so far in terms of power and control. Most racquets on the market have good power but lack a bit in control, yet this seems to have both. Will most likely buy another for back-up. Great job Head on a quality stick for a great price.

String type and tension: The stock Megablast 16 or 17 work great at around 35 pounds
Comments: I love Ektelon gear but I had so many reliability issues with frames and strings I thought I'd give this racquet a shot. It's the strangest thing, this racquet seems to be so similar in materials and design to the Ektelon but there's no comparison in performance. The Ektelon delivers way more power and control than this thing! I'll take the Ektelon O3 series with its reliability issues over the Head any day of week.
Comments: BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! I am an avid player (5 days per week) and i have played with quite a few different racquets. I own a head liquid metal 170 and 180, and this racquet. The math is very simple. Look at the specs on this racquet ie the strung weight, the swing weight, and the head heaviness. It is almost Identical to the new Head Royal Flush which sells for 200. This racquet has PLENTY of power, and the feel is pretty good as well. If you are a power player this is a top notch racquet. Here's a question....what good is an unstrung racquets weight anyway. You have to have string in the thing to play ball. Get this racquet, get an Ektelon maxtack grip and a prokennex pure 1 glove and your good to go, or will at least have the equipment to look like it anyway. Hit em hard!!!
Comments: Switched to this one a few months ago after playing on and off for about 2 years with the Intelligence i.165. Once I started to play more seriously, I decided that I needed a better stick, so after a bit of research, I settled on the Extreme 170. Played a bit with the MX and AMP series, but this one feels way better. It packs a ton of power, but also has quite a bit of control. Even kill shots feel nice and easy with the Extreme 170. I Highly recommend it.
Comments: I played with the MX 170 for three years and I just switched to the Extreme 170. The Extreme 170 is overall very similar in design and head shape to the MX170 but with better stability and power. The Extreme 170 frame also seems slightly thicker than the MX 170. I can notice the increased power when hitting passing shots and drive serves. Touch shots in the front court are also effortless with this racquet. This is the best racquet I have ever used. Period!
Comments: UNBELIEVABLE! This racquet is awesome...truely extreme. I have been using the Liquid-Metal 170 for the past 2 years and this is a step WAY above. It sounds crazy, but it really does provide more power and better control, and the feel is an instant connection right out of the shipping package. I have tried the:
Comments: Incredible racquet and very fun to play with. I didn't really get used to this racquet until I started swinging hard and putting power behind the ball. I demo-ed this racquet with the AMP175 and I felt a lot better swinging this racquet. Awesome power, but the control of this racquet seems to be aimed towards better players. I'll definitely keep my eye on this racquet once i get a lot better and start playing in tournaments.
Comments: I've been using HEAD for over a decade and the EXTREME 170 is the best stick to date. Better than the AMP, better than the MX. MX is a very decent racquet be not very forgiving. It's head heavy and small sweet spot. Additionally, the frames are weak. Not a good combination for a head heavy racquet. The LM series again, decent racquet but ugly as sin. The 165 frames broke just even coming close to a wall. The AMP series is way too stiff and bulky. There is no feel what so ever. The EXTREME is instant connection as soon as you put it in your hand. The feel, weight and feedback is outstanding. Control and Power combined. HEAD named this racquet correctly.... it is definately "EXTREME".
Comments: The past year I have been using the Head Liquidmetal 170...great control racquet but lacks power. Prior to that I used E-Force Judgement Stun 175 for 2 years...great power but not as much control. I was looking for a racquet that had power and control. The demo racquets I tried were Head Extreme 170, Head AMP 175, and E-Force NXT Gen Lethal 170. To be honest, I think I could win using any of these racquets, they all have good power and control...but I could only choose one. The E-Force shot as well as either of the Head racquets, but seemed to have the most string vibration even with the damper I installed. That bothered me just enough to pass on it. The Head Extreme 170 was effortless to hit killshots and splats, and the control was excellent...about as good as the Head liquidmetal but with way more power. When I tried the Head AMP 175 it seemed head-heavy compared to the Extreme 170, even though it is only 175g. I ended up buying 2 of the Head Extreme 170s in part because I shot the best with it right out of the box without having to re- learn the nuances of a new racquet, and also because I felt more confident using it compared to my Head Liquidmetal due to the extra power (without sacrificing control).
Comments: It's the perfect racquet for me: perfect handle, perfect head weight and perfect feel. No wonder why it is so popular!
Comments: I am currently playing with a Wilson NPower and I love it. I just finished a demo of the Ektelon O3 White and the Head Extreme 170. The Ektelon didn't have the control I expected and I just couldn't get used to the grip. Power was nice and I know if I spent time with it I would get used to it. The Head from the first hit was amazing. The racquet rockets the ball effortlessly and the control is incredible. I loved the racquet, unless the Eforce NXT is better-- when I demo that specific racquet-- I will be grabbing this racquet for sure.
Comments: I've been playing with Head racquets for the last 15-years, and this one is tops! This is a great all- around racquet. It has great power (especially if you nail it in the sweet spot), but it also has excellent control and "feel" for the finesse shots! The racquet is comfortable, well balanced, and just feels right! I also demo'd an Ektelon O3 White. It had amazing power, but the racquet felt clumsy and did not even come close to the Head with regard to control and feel! Head wins again!
Comments: This is my racquet of choice. I compared the Gearbox 250, E-force Lethal NXT Gen 170, and the Head Extreme 170. The following is my take on the racquets:
Comments: I was told that E-Force lacked control but was all about power. I had the opportunity to put the Lethal NXT Gen 170 to the test. We tried the Head Extreme 170 and an Ektelon O3 White up against the E-Force and the NXT Gen Lethal 170 by far was superior, not only in power but in control. If you are going to spend the money for a top of the line racquet, you must try the Lethal NXT Gen 170.
Comments: I decided to retire my More Attacks after 3+ years of unwavering performance and decided it was time to go ahead and demo the newest racquets on the market. After playing with the White, NXT Gen, and GB250 I found the Extreme 170 to be by far the best racquet released this year from any of the top manufacturers. The combination of power and control is unrivaled but the solid feel is like nothing I have ever experienced -- every time you make contact it feels like you are hitting the balls with a baseball bat; no twisting or vibration to speak of. It took some getting used to the difference in balance but it is smooth sailing now. I've tried every new racquet to come to the market since the Attacks came around 4 years ago and this is the first I have found worthy of replacing them.

Comments: Absolutely love the power and control. Swing weight took some getting used to from my Lethal(s), but really grooving with it now. Loving my Head Racquets.
Comments: I recently purchased the Extreme 170 Microgel to replace a Metallix 170 that had a frame collapse after 1 year of play. The feel of the extreme is almost identical to the Metallix which I loved for its power. It is a bit head heavy if you are used to a balanced weight but once used to it, the feel and power are unparalleled. I usually string it 2lbs lighter or so for additional power and that is where this racquet excels.
Comments: After 13+ years of solid play, I finally replaced my Ektelon Strobe...quite possibly one of racquetball's best racquets ever. Anyway, I tried the Ektelon O3 White and Black, the E-Force Lethal 170, the ProKennex HC2 165, and the Head Extreme 190, 180, and 170. The Extreme 170 is an absolute hammer that also has great control. Being a life long Ektelon fan, I was surprised how much I liked the Head racquets. The O3 White actually played very nice; however, the Extreme 170 just felt a bit more solid. So...Long time Ektelon fan but now a Huge Head Extreme fan.
Comments: What can I say? One of the best racquets I have ever hit with. Perfect blend of power and control. The feedback you get is amazing, probably due to the new Microgel technology. My previous racquet was Head's Ti 175xl. This was a big upgrade but well worth it. Very comfortable and fun racquet. Can't wait to hit with again.
