Gamma Asterisk 17 String Customer feedback
Comments: NEVER AGAIN will I buy these strings. Tension maintenance was a false claim; it quickly dropped tension within a few hours of playing. I strung it on 59lb, going back to X-One's.
Comments: I hated these strings the first two times I hit with them. No power and no spin. But they started loosening up by the third time and what a difference! Strings are soft, great feel, good spin, decent power, and strings don't move much. Now my favorite multi strings.
Comments: OK seriously, I left a comment a few weeks ago about this string and my opinion is the same on the feel, but this string doesn't wear like any other multi-filament I've ever used, its amazingly tough. I string myself and I used this string in the mains and the Tecnifibre bio-phase 17 in the crosses as an experiment-and I promise-after 3-4 weeks the asterisk strings don't even have wear marks on them--AT ALL! I'm guessing it’s because the cross strings are softer but I've used lots of combination's and have never been so frustrated with not being able to damage a string, this is why I went away from the mono's. Buy this string!
Comments:This string is pretty soft and has nice bite. It seems to be holding the tension as promised. I hit the ball pretty hard and the wear is actually really good so I'm not sure what this other guy was doing to break these in one hour, but I wouldn't not get these because of that. This is a really good string and is better than gamma's older multi-filament strings.
Comments: Good string, I am trying out a new hybrid and so far these are working nicely in the mains. I have the Tecnifibre X-One Biphase in the crosses(red). I have been doing the popular gut/monofilament hybrid for a while now and I wanted a set-up that would be a little softer and more arm friendly. Plus it feels like you have to swing so hard every time to get good spin with those luxilon type strings that everybody thinks are necessary these days. I like the Gamma to this point, the biphase are also great.
Comments: Prince 03 White strung @ 60lbs was too powerful, but otherwise a nice string to play with. No complaints of tennis elbow/fatigue of any sort. String did not move about too much. Had a nice feel but the string popped within 6 days :-( Am not sure if I will give it another try, most likely not.
Comments: The string had great feel and added more spin to my shots. Also, they did have good control and phenomenal feel. This string is a good choice for baseline players.
Comments: Strings popped in the first hour of play. Been using Tecnifibre NRG 17g for years. Will try Asterisk* 16g. Hopefully they will be more durable, because I love the idea of holding tension. We will see.
