Comments: The shoes are comfortable and I am now on my second pair, which will also be my last. They too have split on the right side of the shoe, near the toe area. A major default which should be addressed by the mfg.

Comments: I have purchased at least three pair of this Ektelon model, primarily because of their incredible comfort and overall good feel on the court. However, each of the pairs would fail in the same place, splitting through the side of the shoe, in my case, primarily the right shoe. (I am a left handed player). I have kept buying them hoping the design issue would be corrected, but it has not, so I am switching to as yet another untried manufacturer. Even though the reviews on this shoe are rife with the same complaint, Ektelon will do nothing about it according to my recent phone call to Racquetball Warehouse nor will RbW do anything. They consider it normal wear and tear.

Comments: I have been buying this shoe for years. The most recent pair tore in the mesh after a few months, just as other comments state. This is by far the best, most comfortable shoe I have used so I ordered two more pairs. I hope they resolved this problem. I bought 5-6 previously and they were fine so I'm taking the chance it was a one-time event.

Comments: Mine tore on outside along mesh within 6-7 months.

Comments: I had the same experience. After 6 months or so, entire heel has come unglued. These use to be my favorite shoe, but now forget it...
From: John, Tampa, FL, USA, 08/14
Comments: I have to agree with current posters. I've been buying these shoes for about 10 years and in the past 2 years the shoes have not been worth the money. On one pair the heel sole came unglued. On my current pair that I've used for about 6 months one of the lace holes ripped and now, on that same shoe, the stitching at the toes has ripped on the lateral side. I'm looking to NOT buy this shoe again
From: Craig, Midland, TX, USA, 07/14
Comments: These are comfortable shoes but of poor quality. Sides tear out within 3-6 months. I only buy these shoes because they come in wide size. If I can find other shoes in Wide, I will switch instantly. I would be willing to pay more, if they were made in USA and of better quality.
From: RJ, Bradenton, FL, USA, 02/14
Comments: I have to agree with the other posters, they felt good, but terrible construction. Mine are only a few months old and the tore down the side, making them unusable. Very disappointing.

Comments: play 2-3 times a week after 5 months later ripped on the side and shoe string hole ripped good shoe but dont hold up

Comments: I agree with the other comments. These are very comfortable shoes but have gotten worse for quality over time. I have been buying this brand/model for 10 years and now they can only hold up for 4 to 8 months. soles comes unglued, tears on the side etc.

Comments: Since posting a somewhat negative comment about Ektelon shoes in 2007 (often coming apart in different places, but very comfortable), I must update my comments: I've purchased 3 more pairs since then; the last 2 were the Ektelon Blue & White Men's NFS Classic Mid Shoe. I've been wearing my current pair now for 1 1/2 years; 3X week.... used only indoors on the court. They are great. No problems any more (maybe they're made better, maybe because I don't dive any more). That's why this particular model has been brought back form the 1990s. I've found in all 6 pairs of Ektelon shoes I've purchased in about 17 years (although they claim true size), I needed to get 1/2 size larger. for my 10 1/2 foot I buy sz 11. I've worn Head and Pro Kennex, but Ektelon is the best.

Comments: Wife bought me a pair of shoes for Christmas, they were pretty comfortable and worked well. I play racquetball 2 to 4 times a week and I keep them in my bag. I literally only wear them on the court. It has been 5 months now and the leather on the side is already tearing through. Normal gym shoes I wear every day last longer than this. I am very disappointed and will seriously consider if I will ever by Ektelon shoes again.
From: Tim, Chicago, IL, USA, 05/13
Comments: Original shoe (1990s) was best shoe ever. This one now is tight and uncomfortable. After one hour of wear I got a huge blister on my pinky. I am sending them back.
From: Lucy, Novato, CA, USA, 08/09
Comments: Comfortable shoe out of the box. Had them for about a month before they started to separate at the side seam, causing my foot to slide sideways off the sole of the shoe. Pretty disappointing for a new shoe. Time to find something else.
From: Mel, Carrboro, NC, USA, 09/07
Comments: I've had 4 or 5 pairs of Ektelon shoes over the years. They are the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. Unfortunately, they come apart. 1st Pair.... sole separated. 2nd pair ripped on side. 3rd pair ripped at top lace hole. 4th at sole . I still buy them because they're so comfortable right out of the box. Hopefully, Ektelon will eventually get it right.

Comments: I have bought 2 pairs of these shoes and i must say that they are very comfortable but not really that well built. Although i continue to wear them because of the comfort factor, I wish they would hold up a little longer. My 1st pair started loosing its sole after the third month. The second pair has not lost its sole but it did not take long for the toe part to start coming apart from the leather. I play appr. 2-3 days a week for about an hour at a time.

Comments: I bought my first pair of these shoes a couple of years ago and I loved them. They were comfortable and they held up great so I bought another pair. The second pair started to come apart and the sole after only a couple times of playing. I superglued them together in a couple different places and the help up pretty good. I decided to get another pair and this last pair started to come apart at the sole and at the toe of the shoe. Again, I used the Superglue and the sole held up but the toe ripped out shortly after getting them. As far as the comfort goes you can't beat them but ever since that first pair they just do not seem to hold up. I play 3-4 times a week and give them a good workout. I'm still looking for that comfortable, durable shoe. Any imput would be appreciated. Going to try a pair of ProKennex bases solely on the feedback on this website.

Comments: I also have experienced some anlke discomfort with this shoe. They also have an all together different feel than the originals I had several years ago. They feel harder and the materials are not has supple as the first pair. May be my imagination but the discomfort I have isn't. I have always used Ektelon Shoes but since my last pair of the form fitting model which they no longer make, which I can't believe, I am now serching for another make.
From: Tony, Charlottesville, VA, USA, 10/06
Comments: The shoe is really tight around the ankles, it is a unusal feel that has lead to shin splints in my legs. I don't think it is absolutely the shoes fault, but I have never had this problem with any other shoe. If I had another choice, I probably would not have got them, but since I had them for over a month (tried to give them a fair analysis), they are mine.
