Comments: No comments for this match! Wow! This match was historic in every sense of the word. The blueprint has made on how to beat Connors and how to out maneuver a power player. Even with all the power of today players still have to place and pick shots just as Ashe had to do with Connors because to match power with power is not a good idea and can lead to a lot of unforced errors from either player. Ashe shows how you have to have a game plan and execute it and make a power player like Connors beat you himself without giving him pace and depth. A lot of players will learn a lot by watching this match on video. A classic way to play tennis and still be a victor. Connors was no slouch in terms of his shot making ability and variety of skills. Later in his career he learned to even serve and volley himself so he could win some free points and not have to work as hard with all the effort it takes to manipulate passing shots and other difficult shots that can lead to a lot of errors. Viewers will see that Connors clearly added to his immense game over the years, which allowed him to beat the likes of Borg and Vitas along with McEnroe.
