Comments: I'm on my third pair of the Speed 2s. Great light weight feel, they hold up well on hard courts
playing 3 to 4 times per week. Switched from the Gel Resolutions and not going back.
From: T, 3/16
Comments: I have been using the Asics Gel Resolution 5 and 6 for the last few years and decided this time to
try the Gel Solution Speed 2 to see if I prefer playing in a lighter weight shoe. I ordered the same size that I have been
using for the Revolution 6 and discovered that in comparison, while the Speed 2 is significantly lighter in weight, it seems
to run about a half size smaller. I had to return the size 7 that I normally wear for the 7.5 size. The major difference I noted
in the sizing was that the room in the front 1/3 of the shoe is smaller and created excessive pressure on the top of my foot.
The larger 1/2 size was better. I know that the shoe will stretch over time with use, but I couldn't wear the smaller size out
of the box even though supposedly the shoe runs true to size. This will of course vary depending on the thickness of the
sock being worn
From: Joel, 11/15
Note from TW: Joel -- we do find the Solution Speed 2s to run true to size and we find most people wear the same size in the Gel Res 5/6 and the Solution Speed 2, but everyone's foot is different! Glad you were able to size up a half size and make it work! Also, the Solution Speed 2 is more narrow than the Gel Res 6, so if your foot is a bit wider, that can cause the shoe to feel too small as well.
Comments: Within 2 months the toe of this shoe started to tear off. Very disappointed in the quality of this
shoe. Liked my last Asics pair but may consider switching to a different brand.
From: Matt, 9/15
Comments: I will begin this feedback by stating that I suffer from "tennis toe" and cannot seem to shake it. I
was told that it can be combated with proper shoe size and shoes. I thought I had tried everything concerning size and
type of shoe but I was still getting tennis toe. I was then told to try the Asics Solution Speed 2 because the toe box of the
shoe is very forgiving and friendly to the toes. I cannot begin to tell you how comfortable this shoe is. I am a 4.0 singles
player that plays very competitively (my team is heading to Nationals). I have now played several matches in these shoes
with zero problems and my feet feel great after a match when compared to what I had been used to. I am now sold on the

Comments: I may have finally found "the shoe." This one is a natural, easy fit. My feet weren't hurtting after a
couple of hours of playing, for a change. Cushioning is excellent, even though your feet ride very close to the ground. The
light weight can't be beat. They are just a little less stable than the Gel Resolution with its polymer prison for your foot.
But for my feet and level of play, this is the better shoe.
From: N8, 8/15
Comments: This shoe has great cushioning. It is light weight and lets me move around quickly and elegantly.
From: Jason, 7/15
Comments: Great light weight shoe, low to the ground feel. Cosmetics are off the charts, ventilation is good.
Switched from the Gel Resolution 5, which were getting to be too heavy and not fitting as good as previous models. I have
2 pairs now and rotate wearing them. I highly recommend this model.
From: Tom, 7/15
Comments: Adding to my comment below on the Asics Speed 2. Great cushioning (the gel). The color is
stunning. But the sole wears out much faster than I imagined. Faster than the Nikes. But for the great colors alone, I am
willing to pay the premium.
From: Mark, 7/15
Comments: Comparing 3 light weight tennis shoes, the Asics Gel Sol Speed 2, the adidas Adizero Feather III
and the Nike Zoom Vapous 9.0, all of which I have, this is my personal opinion: The Solution Speed 2's gel cushioning is
superb, the best of all three. And it is very light. A bit like a running shoe type of tennis shoe. The lateral support is not the
best but not something that bothers me (taking into account it is a light weight shoe). Durability should be average,
probably on par with Nike which is never famous for being durable. The Adizero has the most foot-hugging fit. The lateral
support is quite good. The cushioning is not bad but doesn't compare to the Speed 2. Durability is best among the 3 it is
very light also. For the Nike, I understand it is more intended to be a supportive but light shoe, and not a game day light
weight shoe like the other 2. It is heavier, and the lateral support is not that much more superior compared to the Feather
with the extra weight you are carrying. But definitely better than the Asics. Cushioning is on par with the Feather.
Durability, as most people agree, has never been a Nike strength. My choice: Asics and adidas, with a slight edge to Asics
simply because the colors are so sharp on court.

Comments: I loved this shoe. But, I bought it on May 3 and as of today, June 17, the soles are flat in several
areas. Already time for new shoes.
From: Todd, 6/15
Comments: I liked everything about these shoes. Great comfort (cushioned), look cool, good stability and
good weight. However, after 4 months of hard court use the outer sole has worn away and the midsole is visible. I really
expected a bit more playtime, but lesson learned and I'll look for shoes that feature a sole warranty (these do not).
From: Matt, 6/15
Comments: Just finished reading Mark's review regarding ankle problems. Sorry to hear that, but my
experience has been great! I love these shoes! They are light weight, have tons of cushioning, and the stability of the shoe
is amazing! The shoe fits me like a glove! No ankle or foot problems here! An amazing shoe!
From: Brandon, 5/15
Comments: Ankles beware! I purchased a pair of Asics Solution Speed 2's after 12 months of enjoying the
Solution Speed. The originals were brilliant and I had no problems. I play/train 2-3 times a week on a variety of surfaces, I
run a lot (eg. 10km+ events ) so I was on the lookout for light and responsive tennis shoe that suited my quick court
After a long search I finally found the original Solution Speed and was thoroughly satisfied. Not so for the Solution Speed
which, out of the box, seemed more true to size in both width and length. However, the second time I used them on hard
developed ankle pain. I went back to the originas, recovered over a few sessions, then tried out the Solution Speed 2's
Worse! Ankle sprain! I've stopped using the 2's and considering selling them. I am back on court with a strapped ankle in
originals, the holy grail of tennis shoes for me.
From: Mark, 5/15
Comments: Simply the best tennis shoe ever made! Light and fast on the court, comfortable and durable for
weight. Cool colors too! Keep it up Asics!
From: Pete, 4/15
Comments: I have been wearing Nike Courtballistec 4.3s for years and now can no longer find them. Thought I
would try these out after reading reviews of lots of shoes. Wore them once during match and had immediate pain in my
ankle following the match. I had no issues prior to wearing them. The next morning, my knee was also hurting. Thinking
lack of arch support led to the pain I am having. Hoping I can send them back for credit or exchange of a different shoe. So
Nike would bring back the 4.3! I'm a 4.0 league player.
From: Rafael, 4/15
Comments: Phenomenal shoe -- it meets my every need! As a 59 year old with bad knees from years of quick
and pivots but who still likes to run the baseline, this shoe's light weight and stability are ideal. But the real bonus is the
sole gives a little against the court with directional changes to reduce the stress on my joints. Terrific fit (I wear a size 9.5 or
athletic shoes, the 9.5 fits perfectly). Good durability, adequate cushioning and excellent breathability. Highly recommend

Comments: I have the previous version of this shoe. I'm glad to see that some comments say that the lateral
support is better. In mine, I find this a bit lacking, but not enough to be a problem for me. I also notice that my feet sweat
in these shoes. I guess the venting or absorption of these is less that other shoes I've worn. I always use two pairs of

I decided to give these shoes a try and they are perfect. Super light and they provide decent support. And to my surprise,
have good durability. I train twice a day and I'm top 50 in the junior Florida region. I play tourneys almost every weekend

when they bring out the next generation of a shoe, they could ruin a good thing. The Speed 2s have a better heel fit for me
seem more stable and have a better locked in feel. I've owned two pairs of the original Speeds, one pair of Resolution 5s
Speed 2s are the best. The Resolutions feel clunky compared to the Speeds.

I used to be satisfied with every aspect of the other shoes I had tried in the past, but now that I'm 55, comfort is now my
concern about court footwear. I couldn't wait to get out of my shoes after playing before. Now I can't wait put these shoes
for any reason! And no one is faster than Tennis Warehouse in California. Get these shoes! (I'm typically easy on shoes --

shoes are great for me.

Comments: I've used Nike Vapors on and off for the past few years, but I've always had issues with the sides
big and pinky toes. Everything is fine for the first hour or so, but then there's pain and blisters. I've also tried some Adidas
Barricades (way too heavy for me) and Head Prestige II (zero stability). I finally tried these Asics Gel Solution Speed 2
shoes and I
am very happy. There isn't too much support on the sides, as it's mostly mesh. I'm totally okay with that, as that was

perfect for my needs. I compete at the 4.0 USTA level, and this shoe is just about perfect. I would imagine at higher
lack of side support might factor in, but for my game, these shoes are exactly what I was looking for!

Comments: One of the best tennis shoes I have worn, if not the best. Hot colors, cool looking, nice cushioning
they makes me float on the court because they feels so light. Durability is going to be an issue as with any lightweight shoe
plan to enjoy every moment in them!
From: RNY, 11/14
Comments: These shoes have almost no lateral support -- they are light, no question about it, but torsion and
lateral support which is a must for tennis, is very poor. I'm injury prone. So I do not recommended these for any tennis
above the recreational level.
From: Nick, 11/14
Comments: Simply the most comfortable, well constructed tennis shoe ever made! May not be durable, but it
light and fast on court. Traction could be better but otherwise this is my new favorite shoe! I own a hardcourt and claycourt
version and also find the clay version to be the best shoe for clay.

Comments: For many years, I've avoided most tennis shoes because I found them too stiff and heavy for my
I've tried so many popular pairs made by various manufacturers but could never find something that fit my game. Most
shoes have thick stiff soles that always left me with a feeling that I was stumbling all over the court. Others were too wide,
narrow, or had too much arch support. I eventually came across a pair of Nike cross trainers that I really liked. They
adequate lateral support but were also feather light. I was able to fly around the court and reach way more short or wide
that I used to have major trouble with. After the last pair wore out, I've been longing for another pair of shoes that gave me
same ultra light and down to the ground feel. But virtually nothing existed like this in the tennis world, until I found the Gel
Solution Speed2s. These are the closest thing to what i was looking for. They might even be better since they didnt
break in (every shoe ive ever had have always required break in even when advertised as not necessary). Note: I had to go
whole size smaller than my normal shoe size to get a nice snug glove fit.
From: Av, 11/14
Comments: This shoe is light, comfortable, and well constructed. I do not feel any heel slip as I do with other
models of Asics shoes.

Comments: I have bought both Gel Resolution 5s and the Speeds and find that the Speeds are far more
to my game style which involves strenuous impact on my legs. I also found this shoe to slide very well on hard courts. Love
these are by far my favorite shoe!
From: Lee, 10/14
Comments: I have used the shoes for over a month and a half. It has been amazing to move around the court,
so light I forget I have them on. I feel very confident when moving aggressively around the court. It takes about 2-3 weeks

Comments: I bought this shoe after considerable research as I was looking for a light weight shoe so I could
quickly around the court. I also needed good support as I have high arches and I tend to pronate outward. Initially, I was
happy with this shoe, it was lightweight and enhanced movement. However, I quickly noticed that the arch support was
for my needs. So I purchased some arch support inserts that did the job better. Nevertheless, I started to experience
Early in a singles match I incurred an ankle strain, something I rarely do. However, I couldn't point to an actual event that
the sprain or strain. Anyway, for several matches after that, I taped both ankles with concern that the shoes may have been
contributing factor. Most recently, after what was for me moderate exertion, a one hour lesson and a 1 /1/2 hour clinic with
other players, my right foot just started to hurt. The pain was on the bottom, middle right of my foot. It was pain that had
singular event cause but was seemingly more like stress induced inflammation. I could barely walk without a limp much
down a ball. Is it the shoes? I believe so. The shoe is relatively narrow and snug and perhaps doesn't have the broader
feet need, especially considering how my feet pronate. When I switched back to my other shoes, Fila or Yonex, my feet
cry out "thank you, thank you!" While the inflammation is still there, I can move effectively in the other shoes without
the pain. So I have to conclude, this shoe doesn't work for me.

Comments: I was a fan of the original Speeds and absolutely love the Speed 2s. I do think lateral stability is

great fitting shoe for the mid to narrow foot. For me, it's a better fit than the Gel Resolution 5. Arch support in the 2 remains
prominent as before. I didn't notice any difference in lateral stability but it wasn't a problem for me in the previous version.
