Comments: I'm so happy addias brought back the Feather. I've worn out 3 pair of the older versions, and so far the fit is very similar to the older ones. I'm so excited I may buy 2 or 3 pair. They are very light and comfy right out of the box. I play 3.0- 3.5 two or three times a week.

Comments: People, do not forget these are shoes designed for clay court play, so if you are looking for a replacement of your Barricades you are bound to feel disappointed. The shoes do not have the same cushioning and lateral support as the Barricades, you do not need it when you play on clay. If you are strong player and you like a firm ride these shoes are good stuff. As a friendly comment to everybody who might be interested, the lining is really rough, very resistant, you are supposed to wear real tennis socks, leave your no-shows at home.

Comments: Feather IV severely lacks cushion and lateral support. I played few three set matches and I walked away with a major foot injury which took over a month to heal. I'm now using Nike Air CourtBallistec 1.3 and this is a much better shoe! Again - I'm really disappointed with Feather IV.

Comments: I will be very short; this shoes are very stiff, after 3 months, still have pain in my feet plus got blisters. I loved feather forever, but not this IV version, I think feather II and III are much, much, better.

Comments: Great shoes! I have tried them after nike breathe cage 2 and they are a lot better: better stability, better durability, better cosmetics. The traction is excellent and they feel light and breathable on your feet.

Comments: After using the Feather II's and III's and loving both, particularly the III, I decided to get a pair of the IV's. I have to say that there is alot more room in the toe area and I initially thought this might be a problem, but while playing I didn't notice the difference at all and my movement certainly wasn't hindered as a result. In my opinion its the most durable shoe in the feather line. Bottom line: Another Great Shoe From Adidas!

Comments: They look great and are lightweight, but have almost no arch support and are too narrow for medium width (and above) feet.

Comments: I had the Barricade V's for a couple of weeks and ended up returning them. They were just too uncomfortable. I gave them sufficient break-in time, but they never felt right. They were also sloshy and stiff. I never felt that I got the same energy out that I put in when I would take off after the ball. I exchanged them for the feather, and I'm happy to say that these shoes are a much better fit for me. They are comfortable, they grip the court (I play mostly on hard courts,) and they add a spring to my step that makes me feel that I actually get MORE energy out than in (I know that's impossible, but that's how it feels.) Overall, I am very happy with these shoes. I've only had them a few weeks, but I've played probably close to 20 hours of tennis in that time, and I'm still happy with them.

Comments: These shoes are dumb and you should stick with the barricade. Theres no reason to buy these other than for clay and even then the barricades are better. I hated this shoe with a passion and Im sure you will too!

Comments: I was a big fan of Nike Vapor Vs, didn't like the Vapor VIs as much so I started looking around. Bought Adidas Feather IVs to try. At first I liked the fit and feel, they are super light and breathable. But after a week of play I now wish I could return them. The mesh upper material has stretched out and now there's too much room in the toe box. When I get them laced up tight enough, which is difficult, the material folds in strange ways on the top of the toe box, making them uncomfortable to say the least. When I take them off after a few hours of play I've got sore red spots up and down the top of my foot. The lateral support for hard stops and push offs is poor, and there's not nearly enough cushioning under the toe box for hard court play. Maybe they're ok for clay or for really light players, but not for the average guy on hard courts.

Comments: Ok so this the same Zach but this is after playing everyday for over a month and in tournaments. Even though these shoes are meant for clay courts, I really enjoy playing with them on hard courts because they are just so lightweight its easier to move around and I feel like I can fly across the court to get one more ball. I really suggest these shoes, but they aren't hard to break in like I once said they were that was just the first time. But I enjoy these shoes and I will hopefully enjoy later models of them too.

Comments: I found these shoes just as comfortable as any other tennis shoes Ive tried on, but what I really like about these, is that they're much more light weight than the Nikes that Ive put on, and also give me great court traction, which helps me get to every ball.

Comments: This is an updated feedback to my earlier post. So it's been about two months now since having these feather IV's, love the shoe. My last review I had just taken them out of the box and worn them in my house for about half an hour, then wrote the review. Well, now this time I have had plenty of on court experience with them. First off, I would like to say that I love how quickly these shoes will adjust to you and get comfortable around your feet (hence when they say it requires a 'no break-in' period). The shoes are very comfortable and light. From what others have been talking about on the whole red spots on ankles, and hurting their feet, I really don't know what to say on that, because these shoes are nothing but comfort for me. I have no problems with these shoes comfort wise at all. But now time for being serious on durability. When they say that these shoes thrive on clay, that's what they do, and were designed for. Clay. Living here in the US I bought these shoes knowing I wouldn't be playing them on clay. This was a risk I decided to take, due to my long lasting success with the feather II's. Well, like I had said before it's been about two months now. I have played one doubles match, and four singles matches, and a few ninety minute practices in them, and the grip on the bottom of my right shoe below my toes where I pivot my weight a lot, is starting to go bald. It's not horrible yet, but I can see a little baldness starting to get in there. So, I can't bash on these shoes, because simply they weren't constructed for hard court only. They are more of a clay shoe. So if you are thinking of buying these, and will be playing hard court, make sure you have another pair for practicing, and use these for match play. Or else these will be gone in no time if used 3-5 times a week, for more than 2 hours a day. Hope this provided good use! Glad to help.

Comments: Once again, these shoes are very comfortable. I just got them in the mail and put them on. These shoes are really good on clay, but the only bad part was that when I went to slide I rolled my ankle. They do require a little break in.
From: Zach, Cincinatti, Ohio, USA. 05/09

Comments: I recently got these shoes during spring break and I really like them. They're not as stable as the barricades, but after a few times on the court I got used to them and their pretty comfortable.
From: Zack, MI, USA. 05/09

Comments: I just bought them and I would like to say that they feel very comfortable. The other comments about the red spots are because they bought a wrong size, but in my personal opinion they are better than the barricade v. Good job Adidas!
From: Jose, Arabia Saudita. 05/09

Comments: These shoes truly thrive on clay. The tread works flawlessly on this surface, and makes sliding and moving around a breeze. I wear double socks to prevent blisters and haven't had any ankle problems whatsoever; maybe when buying this shoe buy it a half size larger than normal and use 2 pairs of socks. I agree with Zach from Ohio that this shoe works best if you have the correct equipment.
From: Alex, USA, 05/09

Comments: I just have to say that I am pleased with other versions of this shoe and that if you get tennis socks then it will not hurt your ankles. These shoes are probably decent shoes if you have the right equipment.
From: Zach, Cincinatti, Ohio, USA. 04/09

Comments: I haven't bought these shoes but am very interested in doing so. All I have to ask about the negative comments "After playing with these shoes for two hours the bottom of my ankles were getting red spots from the shoe rubbing against them." Have you heard of non-ankle socks maybe an inch or two above the ankle would take care of this problem. All I can say is that if your bare skin is rubbing against a rough material its bound to happen, same can be said about loose socks, but I'm actually going to order them based on the other two reviews. Thanks!

Comments: Have really liked the previous versions of the Feather, so was surprised at the fit of the Feather IV. Like one of the other comments, I too had immediate problems with the shoe rubbing my ankle bone. In addition, I had immediate pain on the bottom of one of my heels. Needless to say, I won't be wearing the Feather IV.

Comments: Just got these shoes today, The Roland Garros black edition. I pulled them out of the box about half an hour ago and have been wearing them since. I must say, not a bad shoe at all. Very light weight, and comfy. I had been wearing Adidas Feather IIs for the last two years, and I love love love that shoe. I was hoping they would bring them back, but it don't look that way, so I had to advance as well with the Feather IVs. I've been walking up and down my house in them and I agree with Michael from Pasadena these give off a gummy-type feel on your feet walking it is nice. Can't wait to take these out on the court and play with them, but they look so good I don't wanna tear em up either. Great shoe! Adidas is the only way to go.

Comments: I have the black/silver version of this shoe and not only do they look awesome, but I was surprised at how light they maneuver around the court (compared to the A3 Accelerator or Barricade). Despite the low ankle support, the shoe is very flexible around the arch. The outer sole of the shoe is surprisingly flexible as well, and I was pleased with the gummi-feel of the shoe against the court while sprinting in different directions.
From: Michael, Pasadena, CA, USA. 3/09

Comments: Although these shoes looks cool the definitely do not fit or feel as good as the look. After playing with these shoes for two hours the bottom of my ankles were getting red spots from the shoe rubbing against them. I also had trouble with the fit. I wear a size twelve and the shoe was too big. Every time I would run I would feel as if they were about to fly off so I suggest getting a size down when you get these shoes. I would not recommend these shoes.
