Comments: Just finished a couple matches (both singles and mixed doubles) using my new Avery M3 Control racquet. The racquet plays beautifully! I have probably demoed or owned about every "player's" stick out there and I ended up getting the Avery and I'm very happy with it. I am a 3.5 transitioning to 4.0 player and needed a racquet with more stability against higher level players - the M3 is making it a lot easier! I used to really like the Prince Original Graphite, it had the cross bar in the yoke and I definitely liked having that extra stability against heavy hitters. However, I was never quite comfortable with the Prince Original Graphite because of the slightly even balance - the Avery fixes that and with the great feel of the graphite and the low swing weight, this racquet is a solid tool for the court. I also compared it to a Babolat Pure Storm Ltd., a racquet I really love (as well as the Pure Storm GT), but, back to back, the lack of bracing across the yoke definitely took away from hitting precise shots - I can put the ball on a dime with this racquet and get a lot of power for topspin and serves. So, I'm sold! I did read about the "grip" issues - the grip on mine was perfect: well put together, nothing falling off or poorly assembled; and it came with a good overgrip. That's good service! Maybe the "grip" issue was just from a small group of racquets on a bad day at the factory! I prefer the feel and slight extra weight of a leather grip, so I immediately put on my favorite Wilson leather grip and an overgrip - plays beautifully! I think this racquet will easily take me to 4.0-4.5, it's a relief to finally get a racquet that fits my game!

Comments: I traditionally like headlight racquets and was looking for something with a little more power than the 93 square inch racquets I normally play with but still with a good amount of control. While this racquet was one of the more powerful players racquets I've hit with, it was too headlight for me. I have a pretty fast swing but I still took quite a bit of flack when playing a hard hitter and didn't feel like it was stable enough for me to attack back on his hard hits. The racquet was fairly control oriented but I didn't feel the pinpoint accuracy I get out of my old Prestige Tours or Redondo. The grip basically disintegrated the first time I played with the racquet.

Comments: The flexible feel was great, but the 12pts head light balance really felt too whippy and unstable for my liking. Pace on serves was slightly slower as well as more inconsistent as a result. Good spin on ground strokes though. Also, the handle was too round. Overall not my favorite stick.

Comments: Ditto Mark's comments. I had to replace the grip because it was slipping off. When it was removed there was some type of tape on the handle, which was causing the grip to come off. Unfortunate, because this is a very enjoyable racquet to play with. Hope they can improve the quality so people will keep coming back to purchase.

Comments: A good performing racquet. However, quality is lacking. I purchased four and two grips fell off the first time I used them. Two of them had drill flash and I had to send them back. But like I said, they actually play pretty well for a racquet with such an odd flex.

Comments: Any player out there who has been desiring more depth, but has been frustrated by seeing their whipped ground strokes regularly falling short into their opponent's court, should give the Avery M3 Control racquets a try. The increased heft of the 12.2 ounce Avery racquet, the weight of which you can adjust to your precise liking with a little lead tape, adds an extra two to three feet on your groundies for the same amount of effort. For those players who play a lot of doubles or like to volley in singles, the Avery M3 Control's solid feel on contact results in penetrating volleys and the frame's relative flexibility compared to stiffer racquets provides feel and touch. The headlight balance allows for maneuverability. The frame's heft and stable crossbar design in the throat area result in the incoming ball regularly getting the worse end of the collision, not your racquet face or arm joints. Take an Avery M3 Control out for a spin! You'll like what you experience.

Comments: I've had the M3 Control racquets now for a little over 3 weeks. I've played two tourneys with them and made both doubles finals, winning one of them. In the singles I lost in the semis to the eventual winner. I haven't even had time to get used to them and they are performing this well, I can't wait to see where this partnership ends up. If you are a control player and like to know exactly where the ball's going you have to give this racquet a try. The weight is so well distributed you'd swear it was a much lighter frame...it's the best volleying racquet I've ever played, the ball just "pops" on the volleys. Don't cheat yourselves, give this one a try.

Comments: I've been playing the M3 Control for 6 months. The first time I played the racket I won a match against a tough opponent with shots more accurate than I had ever hit. Needless to say I now have two M3s and have enjoyed playing the game more than ever. As a fairly new tennis player, I give a lot of credit for my shot development to a racket that offers great control and stability when facing heavy hitters. The weight eliminated any arm or shoulder pain I was experiencing with a lighter racket.

Comments: This is a remarkably well conceived frame. Beautifully balanced and easy to swing despite the 12.5 ounce weight. I like the slightly wider head and the cross brace below the head does help with control. Another feature that I like is the fact that you can feel the frame flex a bit on well hit serves and approach shots, something that is lacking on too many of today's stiff frames. Look forward to getting to know this racquet and learning to take advantage of all that it has to offer.

Comments: I played yesterday for the first time with M3 control (without lead tape yet, I am thinking about that to increase the power of forehand) and I could not believe how good serve now I have ;-). So fast and precise like surgery knife!!! Thanks to M3 control and Tom Avery's DVD - Return of serve I have beaten for the first time my 17 years younger, 2 meters tall fellow (I am 44) with heavy forehand and serve swings. I am just astonished that I could now return so many big serves back. O.K., he has not placed them so well to the sideline like he used to but now I can manage such fast balls and also kick serves which jump on the level of my head (if I would stay on the baseline) I can now return being a little bit more behind the base line still safe into the court. I am again happy to play well placed balls from all positions, slice backhand has improved even further and now I can return lot of shots landing just to my feet. This racquet is so much maneuverable!

Comments: Bought 5 M3 Control rackets over the past 10 months. These rackets simply have all the traits of a perfect player's racket... 12+ ounces, but head light to keep the racket extremely maneuverable. No frills dependability. After demo-ing many rackets over the years, I really think the Avery M3 Control is the real sleeper hit out of all the rackets in the market. I hope the word spreads - because Avery has a real winner with the M3 Control.

Comments: Very nice- quality finish. My one handed backhand improved almost overnight due to the mass of the frame. Solid volleys and return of serves as expected. I use this one mostly for practice since I don't believe I would be able to get a matching pair due to wide variation in weights between the one I demoed and 2 frames I received afterward. Still worth the investment to protect wrist, elbows and shoulders though.

Comments: I've been playing with Wilson original 6.0 95 and recently Avery 95 M3 control. The Avery is very well balanced, and with the head light balance, low swing weight, I can play for 1.5 hours and my arms do not feel tired. With this racket and gut string, I can produce good spin, nice pop with power and control. With a heavy 12 oz frame and 100% graphite, it feels stable to me and I can hit through the ball nicely. For extra spin and hard hitting, I use the Avery racket with Luxilon ALU rough. If you are looking for a headlight racket, 12 oz, some flex but stable, demo the Avery M3 control.

Comments: I didn't like the Avery M3 Control very much. I thought that it was flimsy and didn't give me the controllable power that I was looking for. I also thought that it felt very light due to the fact that it's listed at 12.2 oz. strung. It served okay, but not great. It will not be my next racket.

Comments: I have been playing with the Avery Control for a few months now. I have played with Prince Diablo Tour Mid and MP, Head Radical line. Yonex RDX MP, Tecnifibre 320, Donnay Mid and finally the Avery M3 Control. The M3 Control gives me the precision of the Prince Tour Diablo Mid but slightly more maneuverable. I can play with the string tension down on the low ends with out feeling like the ball is springing off my racquet. It allows me to blast deep in the corner or pop a short cross court and still keep it in. It hits a heavier ball without feeling heavy when swinging. I even added a slight bit of lead tape to move the balance out toward the head slightly (still head light). I have not felt any elbow pain since switching to the M3 Control. The M3 can do everything I need. If I miss a shot or hit short, I can no longer blame the racquet.

Comments: I had the opportunity to hit with the Avery M3 Control and must admit that it is quite a fine racquet. Easy to maneuver despite the weight and hits very solid with great spin. My regular hitting partner noticed extra kick on the ball with topspin groundstrokes and more pace and bite with slices. The M3 control makes the court feel bigger -- I can go wide, short, and deep with confidence and precision. The arm-friendly specs have kept my tennis elbow happy, and I can play without that achy twinge at the end of the day. I hope that Avery will get more exposure to the market because they are simply no nonsense solid, high quality frames.

Comments: I have demo'd over 75 racquets in the last 2 years. Most of them were "players" racquets and most of them came from Tennis Warehouse. I have to say that the M3 Power and Control racquets are two racquets that you absolutely should demo before making up your mind. You cannot go wrong with these two racquets. I bought each model (the Power and Control) because some days I feel more like taking bigger cracks at the ball and use more of my own power = hence the Control racquet. Some days I don't feel like swing so hard, but don't want to give up too much pace = hence the Power racquet. They are both crisp racquets. I even had a chance to chat with Tom Avery himself, and I have felt that he really cares about helping customers with their tennis. Anyway, you lose nothing by trying these two racquets. If you are scared of the 12+ oz weight, then try the Control - its swing weight is VERY manageable. In the midst of all the new bells and whistles that big tennis companies are pushing these days, it's a pleasure to find a company that keeps it simple and yet so effective. Again, just demo them to see for yourself. Also - special thanks to Tennis Warehouse for having such a comprehensive demo program.

Comments: I like this racquet! I'm playing better than ever, and I think my switch to the M3 is part of my success. My consistency is better. I get good spin and consistency on my second serves. I'm able to get the racquet around nicely, and with a moderate swing speed make accurate, high percentage shots. This one works for me.

Comments: I was using TW's Racquet Finder program to search for a replacement for my aging Gamma Tradition 18s. The Avery M3 was one of the frames that popped up as a replacement. Comments: I really enjoy playing with my Pro-Kennex Redondo but decided to see what the Avery M3 Control felt like. The answer is very nice. I still love the feel of the Redondo but have found the Avery addictive. It is certainly a little easier to generate good spin with the Avery, due to the string pattern. A heavier frame can benefit you in so many ways. Just today I turned an eleven-year-old young man on to this frame. You would have thought that it was Christmas morning! Comments: This racquet will amaze you! I purchased one last year and have been nothing but impressed. This racquet performs from all parts of the court, serves are spot on, groundies feel great on both sides even when in heavy baseline exchanges. I find lots of precision on the volley, which has helped my serve-volley game. Have been using 12 oz frames for a while and nothing compares when it comes to the comfort level and playability. Can't say enough positive things about this racquet. I saw that TW is selling this racquet and got excited, now I can buy another.
