Asics Gel Resolution Men's Shoes Silver/Blue Customer feedback

Comments: Great shoe. Very stable. I have many ball of foot issues, and I have no problem in these shoes. They seem to wear out fairly quickly. I only play about 4 times a week, and I have had them about a month and a half and need new ones. It is worth it to not have foot pain though.
From: renee, Las Vegas, NV, US. 6/08

Comments: I just got these shoes today, and they feel great. I highly recommend these shoes for people with flat feet. I have the flatest feet you will ever see and these shoes feel great. Thanks, Asics!
From: Connor, Houston, Texas, USA. 6/08

Comments: By far, the best shoes on the planet. I'm a teaching pro and spend numerous hours on the court. These shoes have out performed the best of the Nike and Adidas lines I have previously owned. Even though Nike gives discounts to USPTA members, I prefer to pay more to get these instead. I only wish I had tried them sooner.
From: Brian, Florida. 5/08

Comments: This is far and away one of the best all-around shoes, ever. The comfort is remarkable, with a soft yet supportive feel that completely erases any sensation of pounding or shock. The stability, which you would expect to be compromised given the lightweight and speed-oriented design of the shoe, is incredible: I would rate this shoe as stable as (or even more stable than) the Barricade IV, my previous shoe. It is nicely ventilated, the upper and tongue are soft and supple (yet still supportive), the fit of the shoe is snug (which improves feel and inspires confidence of movement), and the traction is excellent. I honestly cannot even feel the pounding of hard courts when I play in these. To compare to the Barricade IV, imagine a shoe that has all the stability and support of the BIV, with much less weight, much more cushioning, and almost zero break-in time. Is the durability the same? I don't usually go through shoes that quickly, but I can guarantee you that it is worth it to buy an extra pair of these shoes, as the protection they offer your joints is well worth the cost. You won't find a better shoe out there!
From: Francesco, CA, USA. 5/08

Comments: Great comfort, like others have said. I play 2 hours a day, 4 days a week, and I have already gotten a hole in the front of the shoe, and I don't drag my toe. I am unsure if I will buy these again because of durability issues. I bought these at the end of March, and it's only the second week of May, and the shoes are almost worn out. Sadly disappointed in this durability issue, otherwise a great shoe.
From: Paul, Chicago, IL, USA. 5/08

Comments: These are by far the most comfortable and lightest tennis shoes I have worn to date. People's opinions vary throughout, however. I have worn Nike Air Max Breathe Cage, Barricade 2's and 4's. None of these compare when it comes to out of the box comfort. It almost feels like I am wearing a pair of runners the lightweight cushioning is so good. Time will tell as to whether the durability matches the Cage. Got around 3-4 months from those. Same with the Barricades.
From: Pat, GC, QLD, Australia. 4/08

Comments: After a decent break-in, this seems like a fine shoe. The heel area and mid-foot fit nice and snug on my narrow foot. For a narrow-ish show, the toe box seems really roomy (tall), but with two pairs of socks it feels OK. The shoe is lightweight and is way better looking in person than it is on the Web site. The outsole seems very durable and shows very few signs of wear after a month. I play a lot of all-court singles, and the shoe has proved effective.
From: Dustin, Fresno, California, USA. 4/08

Comments: This shoe is definitely an upgrade from most shoes on the market today. It feels even lighter than it is when you're on court, and the comfort is very good. I have a slightly wider foot than average so the toebox is a little snug on me for my liking, but it is easy to deal with when comparing that to the rest of the shoe.
From: Chuck, NEPA. 4/08

Comments: The Asics Gel Resolution is a great shoe! It is the first shoe that I have found with such excellent cushioning that my ankles and feet don't feel as sore the day after playing a few hours. And I noticed that the cushioning was great on both hard courts, which have a greater impact on your joints, and clay courts. The shoes took a short while to break in before they really got comfortable. I broke them in by both playing with them on and using them as casual walking shoes. But once they are broken in, they are great. The silver colored shoes are great looking too. A definite recommended buy. Especially for anyone who may be experiencing discomfort in their ankles or feet after playing.
From: Doulers, New York, NY. 4/08

Comments: Great shoe -- light and quick around the court. Not very durable, though.
From: Krishan, New Zealand. 3/08

Comments: This is with out question the best fitting, and most comfortable, straight out of the box shoe I have even worn. Having been a Nike Air, New Balance guy I have been looking for a light weight, close to the ground shoe that feels as good as it looks and this is it. After the fist two weeks I ordered a second pair just to make sure they I would have a pair on stand by for when these wore out. I play 3-4 times per week on both hard and soft courts, they feel great and provide great traction when new. The overall wear has been good, although I did notice some loss of traction on soft courts after about three months of use. The out side has held up fine and still looks great. It is the first shoe that I have worn has been noticed for its looks by other players. Sizing runs about a half size small and it seems to be built for a normal or slim foot. This shoe is very light, stable and keeps your feet cool. Asics doesn't make many tennis shoes, but they got this one right.
From: Frank, Tallahassee, Fl., USA. 3/08

Comments: After switching from brand to brand, I've ended up with Adidas Barricade. Most people seem to like them, but they injured my fee and created a plantar fasciitis that took almost six months to recover. I'm now playing Asics and found them extremely comfortable, even using tight ankle support bandages. I do recommend them to every player with normal feet, although I do agree they may not be for wide feet. On standard width feet like mine they are difficult to tie, seems the tongue is too thick.
From: Patricio, Riverside, CT, USA. 3/08

Comments: I've had these shoes for almost three months now. I play 3 days/week, mostly on hardcourts (approx 70%). I really like how snug fitting they are, as i have narrow feet and had previously been using New Balances for years. Very comfortable and low to ground feel. Strangely, when at local shoe store, they only had a 10 and 11.5, and I'm usually size 11. I tried on the 11.5, and due to narrow toe box, these seemed to fit fine so I got them. Durability is good after 3 months, with little/normal wear, and they're more comfortable than any shoe I've had. I'd probably recommend trying on a half size larger than your usual shoe, though, due to narrow toe box. Good for narrow feet like me, and maybe not so good for wide feet from what i see on other comments. I highly recommend these and I'll be getting same pair again once these are toast.
From: Rich, Daytona Beach, FL, USA. 3/08

Comments: Overall a decent shoe. Light, comfortable and stable. It does not offer much ankle support. It's difficult to lace tight and not for wide feet.
From: JT, San Diego, CA. 3/08

Comments: I bought this shoe for my son. He is a junior tournament player who plays 5-6 days a week. His foot is on the wide side and these shoes fit him terribly! They have destroyed his pinkie and big toe because their is no room in the toe box. I would not recommend if your foot is on the wide side!
From: Anon. 3/08

Comments: This is a nice shoe but ankle slips out sometimes. I need to try these out on the court, but after putting them on, I don't really like the fit all that much. The toungue is fatty.
From: George, Bay Area, California, United States. 3/08

Comments: A simply fantastic shoe! Imagine all the mobility, comfort and ventilation of the classic Nike Breathe Free 2 married to the stability of an Adidas Barricade with the shock absorption of an Asics running shoe, and you might have some idea of what this shoe is like to play in. Low to the ground, very light, cool, comfortable and stable -- it is indeed in a class by itself. This the best new all-around tennis shoe to come around in years! I can't imagine a player who this shoe wouldn't suit. I have tried everything out there, and this shoe rules supreme. Truly the perfect shoe.
From: Mark, Orange County, CA, USA. 3/08

Comments: A couple of things to note. Shoes feel very light, lighter than their weight would indicate (if that's possible). It feels very low to the ground and active. Despite that, the cushioning is amazing. I had a meniscus injury before, and on hard courts I can feel in my knee if the shoe is not absorbing the impact. This one absorbs the impact tremendously despite the light weight (maybe it's the Gel technology). I can't comment on durability as I don't play that much and can't provide a point of reference. One bone that I have to pick with this shoe is that it does not grab my ankle and hold it in place. When I change directions with a lot of force and pressure, my ankle tends to come out of the shoe slightly. I have not lost the shoe on the court yet, but the feeling is uncomfortable and troubling. As a result, I relace the shoes every 5 min. That, however, is the only downside and could may be because of my flat feet.
From: Barry, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. 2/08

Comments: Probably the best tennis shoes available on the market in terms of comfort, stability and support. They break-in really quick, feel light on the foot and are quite reactive and dynamic. Only little weakness: The outsole is less durable than an Adidas Barricade (which is the reference in term of sole duration).
From: John, Toulouse, France. 12/07

Comments: This is the perfect tennis shoe. I am a very picky when it comes to tennis shoes. I want a shoe that is light, efficient, low to the ground, has a good fit and is not clumsy. This shoe was designed by a genius. I tried Nike Cage and Adidas Feather, and they are bulky and clumsy.
From: George, Washington DC, USA. 12/07

Comments: Best shoe on the market. It rides low to the ground and are very comfortable. They also feel very light around the court and have great durability. I have had them for more than 6 months now and still look and perform great. They also look very flashy. I got them becasue no one else has them around where I play. If your thinking about getting them, do it!
From: Kyle, Miami, FL. 12/07

Comments: I've only had these shoes for two weeks, but so far so good. I bought these to try out instead of Adidas a3 Accelerator, which I had originally intended to purchase & replacing Adidas CC Boom II, which had very poor durability (see my review of that shoe). These are extremely comfortable, reasonably stable with a low ride, which I particularly appreciate. They feel almost like a running shoe after a minimal initial break-in period. Certainly the opposite of let's say Barricade IV, which are seriously clunkly (not good) and have a high ride that has given me ankle problems in the past. Although it is way too soon to speak about durability, if they do perform in that area then these are some tennis shoes worthy of very high appraisal. Asics are certainly one of the leaders in the world of athletic runners & have been making their mark in a variety of other sports now too. I can't see why they should not be capable of making a top-flight tennis shoe to add to their range!
From: Dean, Qld., Australia, 11/07

Comments: Well I bought the shoes about two months ago and played hard on the hard courts. After about 45 days the bottom right side on the shoes started tear very quickly that next thing I noticed was that I just lost a piece of sole. It was weird, and the same thing was starts on the other shoes. The shoes are very light and good. Next shoes I am going to get is a Nike cage
From: Anon, 10/07

Comments: These shoes have served me very well. They are pretty light, provide plenty of support and are very comfortable just like every pair of Asics shoes I own. The soles have shown signs of wear after 6 months but that is to be expected with any tennis shoe on a hard court surface. Overall this is an excellent tennis shoe, the best I have ever worn, and I would recommend them to anyone.
From: Korey, AuSable Valley, NY, USA, 07/07

Comments: Great shoes, feel fantastic on. I have been playing in them for about four weeks and the soles show next to no wear. The shoes are also very light and nice and stiff. I would suggest these shoes to anyone.

Comments: A lightweight stability shoe - simply amazing! I need moderate support for over-pronation and have had to either sacrifice the health of my feet and lower legs or force myself into heavy stability shoes. Best of both worlds here. Can't recommend enough for players with mild over-pronation.
From: Casey, Satellite Beach, FL, USA, 05/07

Comments: Shoe plays lighter than it looks. They broke in fairly well. After 2 months of play I find myself sliding around as he outsole is wearing. I had to stop wearing he tread has become compromised and akin to a racing slick in some places. I initially like he shoe but the unusual wear has caused me to shelve them.
From: JT, Orlando, FL, USA, 05/07

Comments: I love these shoes, I used to play with the Adidas Feather II's. But since I play mostly on hard courts I decided to give these a try, they feel about the same as the Feathers weight wise, a little wider, more stable, and more padded they are the perfect shoes.
From: Will, Richmond, VA, USA. 4/07

Comments: These shoes are very, very good. I play 6 days a week and over the past 4 weeks they have not worn out much. The sole on the inside comes up so it does not burn when I drag my foot like every other shoe does. They are a little clunky for the first week or so but overall they are a great shoe
