Comments: Nice shoe. Very comfortable with excellent cushioning. The toe box is a bit wider than Nike shoes.
I went through the sole in 4 months playing 3 times per week. TW honored the 6 month guarantee.
From: Joe, Shelburne, VT, USA, 03/11

Comments: Great shoe that finally helped with chronic foot pain! QUALITY shoe that has low to ground feeling and I find the tread pattern works well even on clay.
The feel of these shoes are unique. Firm outsole, but very cushioned inside the shoe.
I just hope they wear well as they're being closed out for the new Gel Resolution 3s, but I expect those shoes to be a good future purchase.
From: Geoff, Huntersville, NC, USA, 01/11

Comments: Absolutely, flat-out the best tennis shoe I've ever worn...by far! Awesome fit & feel. Support both laterally & rushing net is equally superb. Shoes were 100% perfect right out of the box as no break in was required. Note: I have a medium to high arch.
From: Kevin, Hickory, NC, USA, 01/11

Comments: Good shoe but poor durability. The 6 month warranty helps but these still lasted less than 40 hours of play. Granted, I can burn through some soles but these wore really fast. I would only recommend these to people that don't burn through shoes quickly.
From: Vik, TX, USA, 01/11

Comments: I've tried them all and these are the best shoes for hard courts. The only thing was the durability of the sole but TW offers a 6-month warranty and they sent me a new pair! Awesome shoe!
From: Jayson, Austin, TX, USA, 12/10

Comments: I just bought a pair of these as I'm a fan of the Asics' running shoe. However, I will be returning them as they were a huge disappointment. I had some of the same issues like the stitching rubbing on the side of my foot and my heels felt like they were going to slide out of the shoes. I had these problems with the shoes when I was just walking around the house so I can't imagine how bad they would have been playing on the court. They are not comfortable shoes and felt very stiff. I've have also tried shoes from Nike, Adidas, Prince and Wilson and the only shoes that work for me are the K-Swiss Defier RS. I've been using these for 3 years now and they are far superior to anything else. If you haven't tried these you should give them a test run.
From: Chris, Port Huron, MI, USA, 12/10

Comments: I love these shoes! I am 189 lbs, underpronate, low arch, and have moderately wide feet so need a slightly wider shoe with stable cushioning. These shoes fit perfectly compared to the Courtballistec 2.3 (which I tried since to me they are the best looking shoe) and Adidas CC Genius II's, which were both way too narrow and stiff. The Zoom Breathe 2K10 was too wide in the forefoot and the cushioning felt a little soft. I feel the Resolution 2's had the perfect dimensions for my feet and the cushioning was perfect and not too "pillowy". The side support is great so I feel very stable on lateral movements. The outsole doesn't appear as durable as the Courtballistec or Barricades, but it should still last about or little over 6 months with 2-3x/wk play. The toe cap and medial toe guards are extremely durable. A very well made shoe.
Overall completely happy with theses shoes and would buy again in a heartbeat.
From: Danny, Houston, TX, USA, 12/10

Comments: Best tennis shoe I've ever worn. Comfortable, good stability, and you can really feel the gel insert in the heel. Can't wait for the GR3 to come out!
From: Anon, 12/10

Comments: I have tried many kinds of shoes over the years, including the Barricade, which for me personally is way too heavy and clunky. I thought I had finally settled on the Nike Breath Free Cage II due to its snug fit and low-to-the ground ride. But that shoe has its problems. For one, the entire tongue is stitched to the shoe, creating a sock, but making it very difficult to put on. Also, the tread wears out in practically no time at all. And the current design is geeky looking. So I was looking for a better shoe, and I have found it in the Asics Gel Resolution 2 Black/White. Besides being a great looking shoe, it is snug, with a free-floating tongue, is low to the ground and requires no breaking in. The tread is quite durable relative to the Cage II.
From: Larry, Washington, DC, USA, 11/10

Comments: I usually love Asics (pretty much all I wear) but I'd watch out for these especially if you have a wide forefoot. As a few people mentioned, there is a thick seam on the outer edge where the first support strap comes down, right at the corner foot bone just below my pinky toe, causing there to be a hump under the edge of my foot. I wore them 3 times and could not put them on again as every time I planted my right foot it felt like a was stepping on an acorn. My doubles partner has them and is having the same problem. He tried putting a band-aid on the seam. I tried skipping the eyehole on that strap as someone mentioned and that helped a little but ultimately I could not wear these a second longer. It's a shame because other than that they have that great Asics fit. Obviously from the other comments many people aren't having a problem with it but if you get these, before you wear them outside, move side to side in them and make sure the seam is not hitting the edge of your foot. A strange oversight in such a high end shoe, I must say.
From: Keith, Durham, NC, USA, 11/10

Comments: Just finished my second hitting session with the Gel Resolution 2. Yesterday (after 4hrs on-court with them; clay) I was concerned that the shoe wasn't suitable for my wide feet, but today (2hrs on-court, hard) they stretched out nicely after a few minutes and I was no longer aware I had them on. I thought I was completely happy with NB CT1004, and in fact do like the fact that the shoe is available in a wider fit, but I both move better in the Asics -- and my feet feel much better after playing. I have been dealing with plantar fasciitis, at times extremely severe, for more than three years. The court time after the Asics are the first time in years I haven't been limping when I came off the court.

Comments: Overall Great Shoe. But extremely poor wear
Pros
Almost no break in
Fairly light
Good Fit (I have a double e wide foot)
Good construction
Nice look
Rides Low
Great support
Cons
This shoe wears out more quickly than any tennis shoe I've ever owned. I play about 8-10 hour per week, and these shoe showed extreme ware in the inner toe area after two months.
From: David, So Cal, USA, 11/10

Comments: I'm disappointed in this shoe. Pinch points on the outside of the little toe and on top of the second little toe.
From: Alex, 11/10

Comments: Terrific shoe and great warranty. Have always worn Barricades, which are great as well, but these are significantly less expensive and feel just as good. Great traction, soft feeling, and out-of-the-box comfort.

Comments: This is the best tennis shoe out there. Comfortable right out of the box with excellent stability and traction. Plus, thank you Tennis Warehouse for adding a 6 month warranty. This shoe is good on clay and hard courts. This is my 3rd pair and I plan to purchase more. Excellent job by Asics!
From: KM, Tallahassee, FL, USA, 11/10

Comments: These shoes are absolutely fabulous! I was having ankle, knee and Achilles tendon issues, playing 3 times per week on hard courts. These problems went away immediately when I started wearing the Gel Resolution 2's. Lightweight feel, excellent cushioning and stability, and a great fit for my Size 8 medium feet. Not the most durable shoes, but based on performance I'd take a pair of these over 2 pairs of any other tennis shoes you can offer.
From: Chris, Plymouth, MI, USA, 10/10

Comments: Best shoe I have tried in years. For me they wear well and are extremely comfortable right out of the box, the best thing for me is that they come in 12.5. I have always had a hard time finding shoes because 13s tend to be too big and 12s too small these are wonderful. I have a wide foot and I fit these just fine. Since all of the shoes for the most part have gone from leather to some synthetic I have had a real hard time finding a shoe that fit. I was about to go the custom adidas route but then I found these. They are perfect and after spending gobs of money on shoes that I thought would work, these have been a godsend.
From: Hank, CA, USA, 10/10

Comments: Great shoe right out of the box. It's almost hard to believe how comfortable these shoes are. Before these I wore The Adidas CC Genius and loved them, but after reading the reviews and seeing the price difference, I thought I would try these out. Best decision ever. Highly recommended.
From: Devin, Chino, CA, USA 9/10

Comments: After wearing out two pairs of these shoes, I love them. My style of game play is a baseliner with wheels (I get to a lot of balls). Throughout my recovery period after a full lumbar fusion, these were the only shoes that I would wear. The fit is wider than the Adidas (and I agree with the Adidas toe comments) and the shoe is comfortable out of the box. Although the synthetic fabric, plastic like at times, is quite strong, the way it bends in the toe area is quite odd and at first did click a little. After a week or two of wearing the shoes, this quickly disappeared. If you play on hard courts daily you may blow through these shoes (the soles) in a month or two, but the comfort level, lateral stability and traction make up for the soft sole. It seems to make sense that a shoe this comfortable has to have some weakness; obviously you give up durability for comfort. Last week I purchased my third pair. TW added the durability warranty that was much needed. If you have a wide foot with a narrow heel, this shoe may be worth a try. I play 90% of the time on clay courts. A couple of my friends have also had positive results with these shoes.
From: BD, Delray Beach, FL, 09/10

Comments: I just got these shoes and they are amazing! I have worn Barricade II, IV, and V's, as well as my previously favorite Nike Courtballistec 1.3 and 2.3's. These have MUCH better cushioning than the Courtballistecs. Be careful with the sizing though. In my experience, I wear a 12.0 in the Courtballistec, but barely an 11.5 in these. These are my shoe of choice!
From: Aubrey, Carrollton, GA, USA, 09/10

Comments: I have run for years in Asics running shoes (always going back after trying different brands and finally sticking only with Asics), therefore, tired the Asics Gel Resolution 2. I have worn them out in a very short time and only play regularly once a week (with occasional matches beyond). But TW honoring the sole replacement, so can't complain too much. Overall, I wasn't as happy with their tennis shoe as I am with their running shoes. They seem to be fit narrow and are stiff, maybe if they offered a wider width I would feel they are more comfortable. I will try something else after my warranty pair wears out.
From: Paul, Forest, VA. 09/10

Comments: I bought these based on the comments regarding the generous toe box - they are spot on. These are by far the most comfortable shoes out of the box I have ever tried. Very light, stable in direction change and good grip. I have the black version and they look terrific as well. Solid buy compared to more expensive Adidas models that mangle your toes for the first few sets.
From: Ed, St. Simons Island, GA. 09/10

Comments: VERY comfortable cushioning, but I ordered a 12 (which is my size in the Nike Court Ballistic 2.3) and I am having to send them back for an 11.5. The toe box seems extra large. Looking forward to wearing them when I get the 11.5 though!:)

Comments: Bravo Tennis Warehouse for adding a warranty!
From: John, Davenport, IA. 09/10

Comments: An excellent shoe with very nice absorption but not very long lasting on the hard court. May be 4 month maximum in playing 5 to 7 hours a week. But still the shoes they permit me to play tennis with my fragile knee.
From: Gilles, 8/10

Comments: I just bought these after wearing the Barricade 5s for the past few years, which I liked pretty well. I tried the Barricade 6s and they destroyed my feet-every toenail was black and fell off. The Asics feel great, have very good support-I don't feel like I am giving up anything coming from the Barricades. I have found my new shoe!
From: Matt, Greenville, SC. 8/10

Comments: I took in all the comments about this shoe before I purchased them. They are in fact the best shoe for fit, comfort, shock absorbing ability and playability I've ever worn. I'm 60 and still get around the court (hard courts) pretty good and I credit this shoe for helping me do that. They've proven more than adequate on durability (in fact I give them an A in that category).
From: Joe, River Edge, NJ, USA, 08/10

Comments: I have tried several different brands of tennis shoes and tried these based on the feedback. I am extremely happy I took the time to research. These shoes are terrific - comfortable, fit well in the toe box not large and clunky like some Adidas and Prince, and no break-in required.
From: CAM, Austin, TX, USA, 08/10

Comments: I have had Adidas Barricades for the past 10 years or so, starting all the way from the II's to the current model, 6. After three months in the new Barricade 6 recently, a number of feet problems arose. I have gotten my toes smashed with 3 broken black nails due to the new non-stretchable material in its tight toe box, and heel bruised due to lack of overall heel cushioning. The shoe is also very stiff, which caused my Achilles to hurt. After researching, and testing virtually every shoe and model available, I decided to switch to Asics Resolution 2. Excellent right out of the box, comfortable, stable, and fit superbly. Unlike the Barricade 6, I am not worrying about the health of my feet during a match.
From: Gordon, 08/10

Comments: Well, I've finally found a shoe that does not tear my feet up. The Adidas Barricade IV was the best shoe I'd ever worn and although, I liked the Barricade V, all of the rubber "armoring" on the toe caused some blistering problems. As a result, I've tried about 8 different shoes over the last two years ranging from some that moderately ok to those that were simply unwearable. I was hoping that the new Barricade would work for me, but from the reviews, it sounds like Adidas made some dramatic changes and many people are unhappy with them. Why on earth Adidas feels compelled to mess with such a good thing is a good question, but they've made some bad moves over the last few years. I've only played once with the Gel Resolution 2, but can definitely say that it is a winner. At least $500 later, I'm kicking myself for all of the different Adidas and Nike's I've tried (and wasted money on) over the last two years and wonder why I felt like I should stick with those brands. So if you are like me and have hard time finding a comfortable high performance shoe, give Asics a try.
From: Bob, WA, USA. 08/10

Comments: Wonderful shoe. I played previously with Barricades for several years and was constantly jamming my big toe/toenail. I don't have that problem with this shoe. The Gel Resolution 2's are lighter and more cushioned than the Barricade III, IV and V's and also offer good stability and traction. I'm glad they started making this shoe in black - the blue version is hideously ugly.
From: Anon, 08/10

Comments: I started playing again about two years ago and were previously using the lighter weight Adidas shoes before they were discontinued. These shoes are very very comfortable on the court and required no real break-in. I have wider feet with a lower arch and my feet used to hurt during the initial break-in of the Adidas but none of that with the Asics. Very quick on the court albeit a little less stable than most Adidas or Nike shoes I've worn. Big downside is the durability. On outdoor hard courts I've gotten maybe 13-14 matches out of them before the toe box wore through on one shoe. Those have also been doubles matches so playing singles I would probably get less than 10 matches out of them...
From: Phil, ATL, GA, US. 6/10

Comments: These shoes offer the best cushioning out of all the shoes I've worn in the past 3 years. These shoes also offer the worst outsole durability out of all the shoes I've worn in the past 3 years. When I wore these shoes, I was practicing 1.5 hours a day for 3 days a week, and then I'd play a mixed doubles match on the weekend. By the end of the third week, I had worn through the outer outsole layer down to the gel compartment underneath. I expect more durability out of a shoe at this price point. I was really sad to get rid of these, especially since the blue color made me feel sexy on the inside and outside.
From: Emile, Seattle, WA, USA. 6/10

Comments: I have to say that Asics did a great job with this shoe. In the town I live in Asics is pretty much the only shoe brand people buy from for running, so I thought they would also be good for tennis. I was right, Asics has excellent tennis shoes. The Gel-Resolution 2 is probably they're most important tennis shoe because it is the only one that comes in several different colors. Based on the shape of the shoe I think the best foot type for it would be a wide normal arched foot, although this doesn't mean you shouldn't buy these if you don't have this foot type. If you have any kind (high arch, low arch, normal arch, etc.) of a narrow foot I would recommend to buy a half size smaller than your usual shoe size because the inside runs a little longer than it should be where a wider foot is intended not to reach. I have a wide high arched foot which feels a little weird inside these shoes (foot slowly moving backwards), but it's. Also, if you are looking for a shoe to help heel problems this shoe molds to your heel for incredible comfort. I think this is an incredible shoe and will be looking forward to newer generations of the gel resolution line.
From: Chris, Massachusetts, USA. 06/10

Comments: I love this shoe! I completely disagree with all of you guys. At first I wanted to try them because of the color, but the I fell in love with them. I am a very competitive tennis player and I wear these shoes every day and I LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM!
From: Tatiana, Lone tree, Colorado, USA. 06/10

Comments: A shoe of bad quality. Have two pairs and all four shoes have breaks on the outside at exactly the same area after about three weeks. That's embarrassing for such a company as Asics and for a shoe of this price.
From: Sven, 6/10

Comments: Every time I look at my GR2's, I wish I could wear them. They look sweet and I've had many compliments, but the sad fact of the matter is that they are total ankle-breakers for me. I have no previous ankle problems with anything Adidas or Nike, but these shoes gave me several close calls in the first two weeks I wore them, right up to the point I rolled my ankle hard over- on the eve of a national event. Oh, and the outsole durability is scary short.
From: Johan, Florida, USA. 06/10

Comments: Rahul, I had a similar problem but I found a solution. I also thought the stitching on the right side of my right shoe was too firm. No amount of break-in made the situation better. The firm stitching caused so much pain at the base of my small toe that I found myself limping after an hour on court. For me the solution was to simply lace up my right shoe in a way that skipped the lace hole near the area that caused my problems. Voila! Problem solved. Now I think these shoes are great. However, I'm still a bit peeved at Asics. The shoe does everything I want but I wouldn't buy another pair until Asics makes changes.
From: Anon. 5/10

Comments: These shoes are soo killer. I have had 4 pair, and only ones that compare are the Breathe Frees, honestly. They're light weight, lace up ultra tight, come in tons of colors and you never see any one else with them on the court so that's the best part. One of the only shoes I have found that the tongue doesn't slip to the side. Such a cushy tongue and inside outsoles of the shoe have stellar rubber reinforcement for when you drag hard. I play a good 5 days a week for 2 hours-ish and I got a pair in December and they're just now though the bottom, so pretty good pair of shoes for any college player. They're so soft they feel like a pair of leather soccer shoes. Feel the same on the first day as they do when you throw em out. Solid all around. Chose them over the Nike Vapor team shoe any day. Those are too stiff clunky, and I am not willing to give the time they need to be broken in. Get more compliments than any other shoe I have had, so that's reason enough to swoop another pair or two!!
From: Kenny P., Santa Rosa, CA. 4/10

Comments: These are the worse shoes I have ever worn. Before purchasing I read some review where a person said that some stitching comes down the side that hurts. I ignored it but unfortunately the same is true for me. It hurts mainly on the right side (on the outside). The left side is much lesser and is almost not a problem. However due to the annoyance in the right shoe, it causes me to limp a lot and not be able to enjoy the game. This will be my first & last Asics purchase. I probably could have got better shoes for 20 bucks. I'll just stick with brands I've had more success with in the past - Nike, Reebok & Adidas.
From: Rahul, Hackensack, NJ, USA. 4/10

Comments: The Gel Resolution ONE (the older version) was the perfect tennis shoe for me. It was light weight, low to the ground, narrow, had a snug fit and had great maneuverability. The GEL Resolution 2 is heavier, harder to break in, wider, not as low to the ground, not as maneuverable and does not have a good tight fit. ASICS please bring back the original GEL Resolution. It was SIMPLY PERFECT just the way it was. Why mess with perfection? Thank you.
From: Michael, WASHINGTON DC. 4/10

Comments: I've been using this shoe for a year and I couldn't agree more with Gtechy from Parkland FL. Great cushioning but foot support and stability could be better. The out sole durability is terrible! If you want comfort and speed, this is your shoe!
From: Fernando, 04/10

Comments: I am on my 3rd set of these shoes. The reason is that they are light weight but have really good cushioning for my knees. The only drawback is that you don't feel all that secure in the shoe when running hard side to side, other shoes offer better overall stability. They are not my favorite pair anymore since newer shoes from Nike (Breathe 2K10 for example) seem to have caught up to Asics in being lightweight, providing great cushioning but also better overall foot support and stability.
From: Gtechy, Parkland, FL 03/10

Comments: I play about 5 times a week on hard courts and am looking for a cushioned yet responsive ride. The Gel Resolutions are the best I have found for this combination (versus high end offerings from Adidas and Nike which tended to be significantly less comfortable and/or responsive). The only problem I find with the Resolutions is outsole DURABILITY which is terrible. On my last pair the outer rubber layer on the toe was wearing though after only 2 sessions which is pretty outrageous for a ~$100 shoe! If Asics fixes this problem they would have a truly superb product.
From: Paul, Guilford, CT, USA

Comments: The ASICS Gel Resolution 2 is the best tennis shoe I have ever worn, especially for players with weak ankles like myself. It has a really good mix of support, flexibility, and durability. However, I have found that the newer models just released are not as comfortable and do not break in as easily. ASICS made some bad choices in the "upgrades". I'm planning to buy a few of the old GR2's before they aren't available anymore.
From: Ro, Long Beach, CA, USA. 03/10

Comments: I'm a tennis player on the court everyday! I chose these shoes for my first and it was a decision I am glad I made. After they wore out around 8 months later, I switched to Nike ID which were flashy, but ripped too soon. I currently just placed my order for my new pair of tennis shoes! These are a great option if your looking for durability and speed.
From: James, Columbus, OH, US. 03/10

Comments: I didn't realize just how much I absolutely loved these shoes until I switched to a Nike shoe a week ago. The new shoe felt cheap and uncomfortable. Where the Asics Gel Resolution seemed to give me an extra burst of speed to get to tennis balls I shouldn't have been able to get to, the Nike shoe seemed to do the opposite and actually stifle my speed and my ability to get to these extra shots. Needless to say, even though I just wasted money on those Nike shoes, the difference that these Asics shoes make is so profound I immediately placed an order for a new pair of these. I will probably never switch away from these shoes again. They're too dang good!
From: Matt, USA 03/10

Comments: This is my first pair bought about a month ago and I love this shoe. Break in time is minimal and comfort and support are great. When you come home after a match and your Achilles tendons, and feet are pain free who cares about a 6 month guarantee.
From: Jeff, Williamsburt, VA. 3/10

Comments: The forte of Asics is in making great running shoes. So it is no wonder that they have come out with this lite, cushioned and fast tennis shoes. The only defect is the narrow toe box, making it uncomfortable for guys like me with flat splayed out feet. Let us hope that Asic correct this problem in their next generation model.
From: Bakthan, Anaheim, California 02/10

Comments: I just bought this shoe today and it is amazing. Absolutely no break in and it fits like a glove. I play high school tennis and this by far the fastest shoe I have tried (Used to wear Wilson and Adidas.) If you're looking for a new shoe you have to give this one a try.
From: anon. 02/10

Comments: The most comfortable and supportive shoe I've ever worn. I started wearing them about a year ago and I'm on my fifth pair. Sadly they wear out very quickly but are so good in every other way, I'll continue to buy them.
From: Scott, Red Bank, NJ 02/10

Comments: I'm 15 and play High school tennis in Florida. I've gone through plenty of tennis shoes, but these are the greatest shoes out there by far. I had a pair of adidas tennis shoes which were horrible. I currently have a blue pair and black and they are so comfortable and easy to put on. Asics make the best shoes out there and there's no better shoe then the Gel Resolution 2
From: George, Ormond Beach, Florida 01/10

Comments: This is by far my favorite tennis shoe out there. The shoe is so comfortable from start to finish and feels great on any surface. However, if you're a frequent player on hard courts, the shoe wears out very quickly. If you're looking for a shoe that's going to last a while, this isn't for you.
From: Jared, Providence, RI, USA

Comments: Great shoe BUT not wide enough for "D" width foot or greater. I had switched from New Balance because 1004 model was killing my knees due to lack of support. Really loved Asics but will have to reluctantly give them up as only will fit regular width foot. If you have slightly wide foot you will be disappointed.
From: John, Venice, Fl 01/10

Comments: Trying to really love these shoes, but there are some flaws. They feel great right out of the box, are light enough (compared to my previous K-Swiss Stabilor - rock solid, good wearing, heavier than work boots), and provide great cushioning. After 3 weeks of playing (3-5x/week, mostly doubles), some of the fancy mylar-like graphics (really? orange and silver?) is starting to peel off. And I just noticed this morning how much wear is on the outside edges of both feet (normally I wear more on the inside). I usually get a good 6 months out of a shoe, but this one concerns me (and it appears there is no wear guarantee like other shoes).
From: anon. 01/10

Comments: Right out of the box, I am loving my new 2010 Asics Gel Resolution 2 in Black. The Black looks great by the way! I suffer from a weak left Achilles tendon, and the gel treatment and advanced heel support system, is just what I need to allow me to play 4-5 times a week at my club at a 4.0 plus level in both singles and competitive USTA team doubles. I just got off the court playing 3 sets of singles, and the shoe is an "outright winner", as I feel great. I highly recommend this shoe for anyone with heel or Achilles issues. If you are over 40, most of us suffer from weakening Achilles, so this shoe is for you! I have enjoyed the New Balance #803 for the past 2 years, but after wearing these Asics Gel Res 2, I am one happy tennis guy, and an Asics advocate! Thank you Tennis Warehouse & Asics for making this great shoe available for senior guys like me....
From: Fred, Dallas, TX 01/10

Comments: My son is 11 years old and last year began to suffer foot pain in the back of his heel. It was not spurs, but the back part of his heel. He is a tennis player and I noticed the foot pain was significantly hampering his footwork. We went to podiatrist and got inserts that didn't help, but they recommended the Asics gel shoe. They didn't have any at the place we went, so I began looking online. So I ordered these from TW. Right out of the box, they felt great to his feet. I didn't want him to wear them out until I knew they felt good. After a day of wearing them around the house, he told me that he wore them outside because they helped his feet. I took him to tennis practice where he drilled for hour and a half. He got in the car and said his feet didn't hurt. Good news. On the way home, we stopped to get something. He got out of the car and gingerly stepped because of the pain he would normally have after the workout, and I heard him say to himself, "Wow! My feet don't hurt. That's cool!" He would normally waddle until the pain got bearable, but he resumed his normal stride. He has played basketball in them with no pain either. These shoes really helped him as the doctor said they would. We will definitely be buying a few more pair! Great support. Don't know about durability yet, but comfortable supportive shoes for sure!
From: Chip, SC 01/10

Comments: I have worn the GR I and II for the last 2 years and alternate with Adidas Barricades. The Asics are great out of the box and I agree that the wear is not the greatest. The Barricades are very stiff and take a couple weeks to break in for comfortable wear. I only now wear Barricades for fun matches and save the Asics for USTA matches or tournaments as they are too heavy. I feel like I am plodding along when I wear the Barricades. I am sold on the GRs for their comfort and will probably find another shoe other than the Barricades for practice and fun matches as they are just too heavy.
From: Jon, Palos Verdes, CA, USA 01/10

Comments: Great shoe, but suffers from durability problems, lower arch support than most shoes, and also the fit was a little bit wide on my foot, but I have a narrow foot to begin with. I'm hoping these are addressed in the next version because if they are then they will be the best shoes on the market easy.

Comments: Great fit, comfort, and all around stability, but the outsoles clearly suffer from the light weight. They only lasted me 3 months before a hole wore through the whole shoe to the insole. Other than that I would recommend if you are playing less than 6-10 hours a week.
From: Anon. 11/09

Comments: I would NOT buy these again. I love the fit, cushioning, support, low ride, however the out-soles only lasted almost 3 months and I only play 6-8 hours per week. My pair are still looking great except for the toe areas of both shoes. I'm back to the Nike Zoom Vapors until Asics makes some BIG improvements.
From: Joe, Felton, CA, USA, 11/09

Comments: Going on my third pair of Asics Gel Revolution 2. The best shoe I've had in 35 years playing tennis. Has great support and durability without being too heavy.
From: James, Miami, FL 11/09

Comments: These shoes are very comfortable out of the box. Plenty of width for my wide feet and cushioning for running around the court. I find that they provide good traction and lateral support. They are not as flexible as the Prince T22 that I recently bought so I think these will hold up better over the long haul. They are not quite as stiff as the K-Swiss Stabilors out of the box. These shoes don't have as far forward a flex point in the sole as the Prince T22s do. The flex point is more on par with K-Swiss. These shoes don't hug your feet and fit quite as snugly as the Prince shoes or the K-Swiss Stabilor. I really like the blue color as they really stand out. I play 3x a week and glad I found three nice pairs of shoes that I can wear interchangeably. A great non-traditional colored shoe.
From: Mike, Phila, PA 11/09

Comments: Great shoe. Very comfortable, but wears out in less than 3 mos. Use Babolat (Roddick) now. Just as light, great support and after 3 mos, very little sign of wear. Better shoe for essentially same price. Play 3 to 4x per week.
From: MJM, Charlotte, NC, USA 10/09

Comments: Cool looking shoes, and they were really comfortable too, I just wish they lasted more than a month. I don't have the best footwork nor do I drag my feet an obscene amount, but during my high school season these literally lasted me a little less than a month, 3 and a half weeks to be exact, of playing 5 times of week. Other than durability, they're great shoes but if you play a lot they won't last. If you can afford new ones often then that's awesome because they are good shoes, but I couldn't get another pair knowing I'd wear completely through them in another month.
From: Andrew, Virginia, USA 10/09

Comments: I am ordering my 2nd pair now. I have used Adidas Barricade and Prince brands, but was not satisfied with the fit. So far, only ASICS fit my foot properly. No turf toe incidents in 2 years with the same pair. They are looking pretty worn now, but 2 years is pretty durable IMHO. I will also order another pair of running shoes (same reasons - running hilly trails).
From: Mat, Washington, DC, US. 10/09

Comments: Before injury, I moved extremely well. I had micro fracture surgery on one of knees about a year ago but my knees still ached during and after play. Based on the recommendations of those on TW Talk Tennis forum and customer comments, I purchased the Asics gel resolution 2 and used them on har-tru last night for the first time and played singles. I moved very well. They are a great performance shoe with outstanding comfort. All I know is that during play, immediately after play and today (the day after) I have had no discomfort at all. The other knee, which is also osteoarthritic, also feels much better. Best I have felt in over two years!
From: Evan (4.5), Jericho, New York, USA 09/09

Comments: I have used this shoe for around 60 days of playing. I am 3.0, don't run around too much. Already the right toe is coming out. Other than that it is really comfortable shoe. I used to use Barricade IV and it was really hard on the knee and I would have to clip toe nails. If you have money to spend every 3 months it is a good shoe. Otherwise find something else.
From: SN, USA. 09/09

Comments: They might not be as durable but they are oh so comfy. I find that with durability comes the hefty price tag of comfort. For some reason, less durable shoes seem more comfortable, maybe because the material is softer and therefore less durable.
From: Jorel. 9/09

Comments: These are great shoes, they are comfortable, light and they provide enough support that I don't need any heel pads as with other shoes I used in the past.
From: Kim, Newcastle, WA USA 09/09

Comments: Not as durable as the Barricade but a lot more comfortable. The Barricade usually lasted me 3 months the first pair of Asics lasted 2.5 months I'm on my second pair and will keep purchasing.
From: James, Miami, FL, USA. 09/09

Comments: I'm a teaching pro and I put holes in both toes in less than 2 weeks. Cool looking shoes and that's about it. Go for barricade V's instead.
From: anon. 08/09

Comments: Very nice shoe. Comfortable. The main thing here is that I don't stub my toe when I'm racing to the net and have to stop short. Excellent support, light, low to the ground and very light. I'll buy another pair without question.
From: Jose, Fishkill, NY, USA. 8/09

Comments: These are the most comfortable shoes I ever had. Used to be nothing but Kswiss, but not anymore. Besides, the blue Asics are just the right shoes for the right attitude on the court. It's eye catching. Lot of compliments from my partners and friends.
From: Pat. 8/09

Comments: This is the second pair of Gel Resolution I have bought. Right out of the box comfort. Very light, comfortable and supportive. I will only buy Asics from now on. A very good shoe.
From: T, Amarillo, TX 08/09

Comments: The shoes are great, but unfortunately, don't have the best longevity. I have been a very loyal fan of the Nike Breathe Free II shoes, and these are equally comfortable and have significantly better traction. Even though the tread is nearly worn out, they still grip the court surprisingly well. In the Nike's, I found a very significant drop in traction after a few weeks of heavy playing. I'm still on the fence as to whether I'll keep using these shoes given the hefty price tag, but if nothing else, they'd be a great match-day shoe.
From: John, Davenport, IA 08/09

Comments: I thought I would love these shoes because the descriptions fit me pretty well. I try to get out and play as much as I can, but I usually only get out about once a week. I play tournaments when they are close. I bought these shoes at the beginning of the summer fully expecting them to last through the summer and my fall school season. As of now, August 1, there are holes in the toes of both shoes, and I am now looking at having to get another pair before summer is even over.
From: anon. 08/09

Comments: Have tried lots of shoes over the last 10 years but none have fit as well and been more comfortable. I play about three times a week the shoes fit like a glove and are very light weight. Not sure about durability have been playing with them for about two months and they seem to be wearing a bit.
From: Michael, Sanford, ME, USA, 07/09

Comments: These shoes are horrible. Sure they look great, but after only six weeks already have a hole in the toe. Compared to my Nike cages which lasted me about 8 months. They are very light compared to other shoes, but not half as much durability as other shoes in the same price range. If you must buy these shoes get them from somewhere with a six month warranty. Do not recommend.
From: anon. 07/09

Comments: Great shoe but after just 2 weeks my toe was coming out of the shoe. They're great shoes for someone who plays once a week but I'm switching back to the Barricades.
From: Justin, 7/09

Comments: I have to agree with most of the positive sides the of the comments listed. I did not like two things about these shoes, however. First, the flat sole profile. If you like that kind of sole, then this is not a problem for you. Second, has anyone played on a really hot hard court with these yet? My feet felt like they were going to blister. I wear two pairs of Thor-Lo's and a full foot orthodic and the shoe still felt like it was very very hot on the bottom. I still prefer the Adidas Barricade. Never have had the hot foot and I like the heel-up profile.
From: Mark, Irvine, California, USA. 07/09
NTRP Rating. 5.0

Comments: Positive: These shoes fit well and have decent cushioning. Break in time was minimal and played great out of the box. Negative: I got these shoes two months ago and play quite often. The soles are wearing out already. Overall: Great for the weekend warrior but not for those who play more than four times a week.
From: Michael, Princeton, NJ 07/09

Comments: These are great shoes. They are much lighter than Adidas barricade and even Nike cage. The problem is that they simply can't match up to the amazing quality and comfort of Asics running shoes. There are two things I really wish these had: 1) cross-lacing system like on nimbus 10 (would eliminate popping and lace tighter 2) more gel cushioning in the heel and balls of your feet. I also wish there was a six month durability guarantee. It sounds like a lot of complaints but all-in-all great shoe.
From: anon. 07/09

Comments: I've always liked Asics running shoes and liked the feedback I read on the Gel Resolution 2 so I decided to try a pair. I purchased these shoes about 2 months ago and they are the first shoe I've ever been able to wear comfortably out of the box and on the court without having to break them in. I've been wearing the Barricade 2's, but these are much more comfortable and much lighter. The wear on the shoes is ok. I slipped a few times recently because of wearing tread and I'm about to wear a hole in the toe, but, I will continue purchasing this model. They look cool and they feel great.
From: Todd, Atlanta, GA 06/09

Comments: I first purchased this shoe because I was looking to try something new, but I ended up REALLY enjoying them. They are very light and comfortable. The only problem is that they aren't very durable. Overall, a very good shoe.
From: Lucas, Bradenton, FL, USA 06/09

Comments: I purchased these shoes based on fellow comments on this board and I am glad I did. It takes a few days to break them in before they become comfortable and supportive. I am glad Asics is giving Nike and Adidas a run for their money. Asics is known for making great running shoes, now finally, they have made a great pair of tennis shoes.
From: Tai, SF, CA 06/09

Comments: I purchased these shoes based on fellow comments on this board and I am glad I did. Although, it takes a few days to break them in before they become comfortable and supportive. I am glad Asics is giving Nike and Adidas a run for their money. Asics is known for making great running shoes, now finally, they have made a great pair of tennis shoes.
From: Tai, SF, CA, USA. 06/09

Comments: I've been running/jogging on Asics for years and they've been awesome. So, I wanted to love these shoes too. They would be fine....EXCEPT FOR THE ANNOYING POPPING SOUND that the plastic cage around the toe box makes. The upside is during play I don't notice it as much. Definitely not a kicking around shoe unless you want your shoes to be heard and not seen. Seriously, for what I paid I don't want to hear pop...pop...pop while I'm walking.
From: Sam, Maryville, TN, USA. 6/09

Comments: Very, very comfortable. Very quick break-in. The shoe conforms to your foot well and has good traction and stability. I play almost every day for at least 2 hours. I have played 2 intense matches and otherwise just practice. After 2 weeks, the tread on the medial toe area is smooth. Great shoe on every aspect except for durability. Overall:9.5/10
From: Anon, USA. 6/09

Comments: If you prefer speed, quickness and explosion, get this shoe. Quick feet, agility, lateral explosion are vital to my game. I tried the latest generation of the Barricade and I'll never wear that shoe again; like wearing ankle weights. The Resolution fits naturally, maybe a one-day break in period but that's it. Stability and comfort are not compromised. However, if you play 5-6 days a week, with aggressive all-court play, look to replace them in about 4-5 months.
From: Sheldon, Pittsburgh, PA. U.S. 6/09

Comments: Simply the most comfortable tennis shoe that I have ever worn.
From: Basil J, Wakefield, MA, USA. 06/09

Comments: Great shoe right out of the box. This is the second pair of gel resolutions I have worn. Comfort, fit, durability and quality are all top notch. The weight of the shoe is excellent if you are going to play a lot of tennis in one day. Highly recommend.
From: Tom, Birmingham, AL, USA. 06/09

Comments: I wore these shoes around the house for about 3 days before I thought they were going to be okay. They seemed very stiff, but after getting on the court I must say very nice. Great support and comfort. I have a wider foot, but these feel good. They do have a smaller toe box, but still very comfortable. My previous shoe was the K-swiss Ultra but never really got the right fit because of no 1/2 sizes above 12.
From: Rob, Villa Park, Il, USA. 06/09

Comments: I hate to say it, but these shoes have replaced my Barricade Vs as my preferred shoes. I don't know about others, but with my Barricades, sudden stops and turns really hurt my toes (specifically the toenails). With these Asics, though, I feel like I'm playing with pillows on my feet. These are absolutely fantastic! Traction, comfort, and performance excel with these shoes. I played for 5 hours and afterward, my feet felt great! Highly recommended and a must buy!
From: Ken, Schaumburg, IL, U.S.A. 6/09

Comments: Fabulous!!! These Asics provide an excellent fit, smooth cushioning, excellent stability, great look. I have played 4-5 hours of 5.0 singles three days in a row using these new shoes, and they provide the most cushioning of any shoe I have ever used. They are very comfortable and they provide stable support!! I love playing tennis in these shoes for more court time and better results beating my friends. If you love playing competitive tennis you should try ASICS to see if they fit your feet. If they do you will be so very happy!!!
From: Pat, San Francisco, California. 6/09

Comments: Like most here, I loved these shoes for the first couple of months I had them. Unfortunately, they really fell apart quickly, and I'm not very hard on shoes at all. The sides lost most of their support and the soles wore out in no time. The orange ASICS logos on the sides even peeled off! In two and a half months, these shoes looked like I'd been playing in them for two and a half years. I guess I'll go back to Barricade IIs, as long as they make them. Darn, it's getting hard to find a good pair of shoes these days.
From: Gerry, 3.5, Louisville KY, USA. 6/09

Comments: Great shoes! It is easy to feel better after playing 4 hours of singles tennis in these excellent shoes. Great support, great cushion, excellent fit, excellent in every dimension. Best shoes ever!!!
From: Pat, San Francisco, CA, USA, 05/09

Comments: I have been a committed Price shoe player for a number of years. I decided to give the Asics Gel Revolution 2 a try because of the company's great reputation in the running shoe industry. No complaints regarding fit, arch support, weight, stability, and overall comfort, but the outer sole is gone after less than two months of play. Not long enough for my money. So much for the "ASICS High Abrasion Resistant Rubber" on the hard courts in northern CA. FYI, 6-month sole guarantees don't last 6 months on my feet either, but usually 5. I play tournament level 4.0 tennis and am on the court 5-6 days a week. I'm back in my trusty Prince MV4's for the foreseeable future.
From: Jeff, Sacramento, CA, USA. 05/09

Comments: Great shoe. I have had issues with my ankles and arches. This shoe gives me the support I need, but is comfortable. Played hard with them with no break in and they felt better than my Nikes and K-Swiss that were well broken in.
From: Bill, Arlington Hts, IL, USA. 05/09

Comments: This is flat-out the best court shoe I've ever had! I was formerly a K-Swiss fan, but this shoe is in a different league. It has the best cushioning system ever without compromising lateral stability. It is also very cool, lightweight and reasonably durable. A great find for my feet and game. I thought the original Resolution was good, but the GR2 is even better!
From: Steve, San Diego, CA, USA. 05/09

Comments: Just for the record, I play with ASO Ankle Braces and the inner lining around the heel and ankle had huge holes after some few tennis sessions. The shoe is great, feels fast, stable and light, but I think I am going back to my 100% reliable Barricades next time.
From: Anon. 05/09

Comments: I love, repeat: I love these shoes! After many hours of play, I'm leaving my first feedback with painless feet and legs for these great shoes. I used to be an all Adidas guy, but these shoes have won me over; they're lightweight but have just as much stability as the Barricade IVs, great grip on hard courts and clay, and the best shock absorption I've ever played with. Barricades were too stiff and my feet were fatigued after any play with them though they are rock solid and durable. I get to many more balls with the speedy Asics. Only honest concern is that pattern on the sole of this shoe is not meant for Har-Tru. I clean my shoes of the clay at home after every time I play and the clay does not come out easily, and after a few minutes on the court sliding becomes difficult to pull off. I would say these are meant for hard courts and not clay as TW suggests on shoe finder. I'm off to try the Feathers!
From: Alex, Miami Beach, FL USA. 4/09

Comments: This is my second favorite tennis shoe of all those I've ever tried. Nike Breathe Free II is still #1. These are the closest I've come to those, although they are in fact much different. Mainly, they are lower to the ground. They have a softness and spring greater than any shoe I've tried maybe even the BFII: way better than Air Vapor IV or V; better than Barricade. You put on a Vapor or Barricade and then a Gel Resolution, you will immediately notice the difference. If you play 10 hours per week or more, you'll probably also notice a difference in the amount of pain you feel in certain parts of your legs. These shoes feel light and fast. The price is also lower than a new pair of Nike or Adidas, though with the new prices on BFII sale, I guess those are even cheaper than the newest Gel Resolution.
From: Jerome, Princeton, NJ, USA. 04/09

Comments: I'll never wear Adidas tennis shoes again. Lately I've been on a New Balance kick, and still absolutely love them. I'm very impressed with Asics now too. Adidas and Nike make a great *looking* shoe, but that's about it. Asics and New Balance focus more on the comfort and support, and you can definitely tell! These shoes are very very comfortable. I play on clay courts a lot and have only hit for about an hour, but I usually have to break shoes in to slide and had no problem with these. Great shoes all around!
From: Cary, Ft. Myers, FL. 04/09

Comments: Excellent shoes. I recently wore the New Balance 1003 and they were no comparison. The Resolution is very comfortable, offer great lateral support and wears nicely. They are such an improvement over the New Balance I gave the New Balance away.
From: Kevin, Laguna Beach, CA, USA. 04/09

Comments: One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The problem with this shoe is durability. I've had them 2 weeks, and have almost worn a hole in one of the shoes. For comparison my Barricades usually last about 5 months. I can't afford to buy a new pair of shoes every month so this will be my last pair.
From: Anon. 04/09

Comments: Nice shoe, and the orange is more subtle than the pictures depict. However, not for folks who need a wide toe box. Barricade II's and KSwiss Glaciators are the narrowest shoes that fit me without foot problems. Looks like I'll have to go back to New Balance 2EE's or possibly Prince/Wilson to get the width I need.
From: Herschel, Sacramento, CA. 04/09

Comments: After years of using Asics running shoes and Diadora tennis shoes, I decided to try these Gel Resolution II shoes. From the first point, I was able to feel the great cushioning in the forefoot. The support is very good, and of course, heel strike is muted due to the gel pads. The shoe looks hi-tech, but you can feel the engineering went deep into this well constructed shoe. I was using the Diadora Speed Zone shoes, but the Gel Resolution II takes things a step further with the extra lateral support and carpet-like cushion properties. Expensive? Maybe. But I feel the preventive maintenance to one's body with good equipment beats the heck out of knee/hip replacements! Bravo, Asics! By the way I play 5 times per week, at 4.5/5.0 level.
From: Gerry, Williamsport, Pa. 4/09

Comments: I've purchased all the Nikes (breathe, ballistics, and vapor V) and they don't compare to these Asics. This is my first time purchasing these and what I love is the fact that I don't develop any blisters. On the other hand, my Nikes would give me blisters on both feet after matches. Also, I have pretty wide feet and the Asics fit comfortably. I rely on my speed and I was able to change direction without slipping with the Asics. If you are an aggressive hard court baseliner, these are the shoes for you!
From: Jay, Austin, TX 04/09
NTRP Rating: 4.5

Comments: The popping noise is actually due to the rubber on the top of the toebox, I noticed it when I tied my laces too tight, so when you bend at the balls of your feet the rubber makes a popping noise since the rubber pad doesn't have anywhere to go. Absolutely has no effect on the performance. I got around this by tightening every lace other than the first set. Awesome shoe, I've worn barricades for 5+ years, definitely not going back to Adidas, Asics are better than you think!
From: Alex, Orange County, CA. 04/09

Comments: Just got a pair of these and I have to say I am very pleased and that these are probably the most comfortable tennis shoes I have ever had. I think I will buy a second pair for later use. However, if you have a wide foot as I do, I would go with a half size larger. I got my regular size and they were too narrow; half size bigger and they fit like slippers! I could not get the original Gel Resolution that Asics made a few years ago on my foot no matter what, but these I could. Excellent cushioning and great arch support; light weight too. This shoe has a rare combination that I have not found in other tennis shoes. I had been using Nike Max Air Breathe Free for a few years- they were the only Nike I could get on my wide foot. Never felt like I had the cushioning though. In regards to use out of the box- yeah you can, but I disagree with the posts above because I think they are a little stiff and need some break in, but it is no big deal. Just wish Asics would make a wide size so we "flat foots" could buy true to size!!
From: Kenny, Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA

Comments: These shoe are the best thing that has ever happened. The first time I went out to play with them I had countless amount of people come up to me and tell me how beautiful they were.
From: tom, Valparaiso, in. 3/09

Comments: This is just a great shoe. I have played with the Breathe Cages for three years. I switched because of knee problems. They are so comfortable and they really do take pressure off of your knees and ankles.
From: Anon. 3/09

Comments: Asics are generally underrated across the board since they don't do a lot of advertising or big sponsorships. These shoes are simply fantastic. They'll take away two steps to every ball with their low to the ground and lightweight feel, but still offer the stability and comfort the most aggressive players need. I've had bloody feet with some of the top tennis shoes out there... not the Asics Resolution2!
