Customer feedback
Comments: This was the first Asics tennis shoe I bought, but I plan to return them. This shoe did not feel stable b/c I felt too high off the ground. My heel also slid around too much but the toe area was snug. Since I'll be returning them, I won't try them on the court to loosen them up, but the sole just felt stiff out of the box.
Comments: This is a great shoe. They are lightweight and have a lot of cushioning. My heel slipped at first, but I laced them all the way to the end. It seems to fit better that way. Played for 1 1/2 today and feel great!
Comments: Love these shoes. Light weight, great cushioning, and fast. I have major knee and ankle issues so cushioning is important. Only drawback is the durability. Because of that I am looking for a different brand that has good cushioning but better durability. Any suggestions?
Comments: I've been wearing Gel Challengers for 7 years now [no, not the same ones but 2 new pairs a year!] However, like some of the other reviews, I too have been disappointed with the Gel Challenger 7 model - too tight across the forefoot. After 6 competitive sets and a drive home yesterday, my feet were screaming at me! Why has Asics made a silly change and disappointed so many of us? I'm now trying the K-Swiss 7.0 Defier model; it has a nice big comfortable toe box, so far so good!
Happy tennis guys!
Comments: Never had Asics shoes for tennis & decided to try these out. Felt a little stiff initially, but after a couple of hours of play they feel good. I have a very narrow, flat foot & previously have only been able to wear Nikes (the original Cage), which have been out of production for a while. Replaced the original insoles w/blue Superfeet and my feet feel just fine. No pain & good support. Nice lightweight shoe and definitely will buy again.
Comments: I love this shoe. I need a lightweight shoe with lots of stability and I've found it with the Gel Challenger. I play 3-4 time/week and it's lasted about six months. I tend to drag my toe and never wore through the toe area.
Comments: I am not loving this version of the Gel Challenger -- was a fan of the previous model. Feet and legs are very sore after playing in these.
Comments: Very comfortable shoe, but durability is a major issue. Shoe is light, molds to your feet well, cushioning is great, but shoe lasted only two weeks before I wore a hole in the front right toe area.
