Wilson BLX Six.One Team Racquets Customer feedback

Comments: I bought this racket last week and I played several times and it feels really great. I used to play with a lighter version and 100sq inch. After changing to this, I get a better control. But I am getting severe clot in my lower palm. I am not sure if I am holding it wrong and I need to check with a trainer. Can someone help me here how this can be avoided. One reason is I am switching from very lighter racquet to this one but how can I get used to this?

Comments: I just bought this racket from tennis warehouse last week and im already benefiting from the results my old stick was the Babolat Pure Drive Roddick and I was having real problems with control and the weight of the stick. The six one team does everything I want out of a racket its just great.

Comments: I am 15 years old and play about 6 hours every week. I bought this racquet and felt great. It gives you a lot of control and power, and let you play very hard and attack every shot. I recommend it!

Comments: I really like this racquet because this racquet gives you more power but at the same time a lot of control.

Comments: I have been using this racquet now for about 1 month and it feels great. You just have to swing the ball and it gets into the court. It is a very comfortable racquet and it seems that you have nothing in your hand. It gives a lot of crunch and crisp to our palm. At net, you can punch each and every ball very easily and it has a very great swing speed. I recommend this racquet to all the base liners and volleyers. That's my point of view.

Comments: After switching from a Babolat Aero Storm Tour which strung weighed 12. 3 ounces I noticed how much control it gave me. I originally wanted to try a lighter racquet but now added led tape to make it weigh about 11.7 ounces. I play three hours a day, 5 times a week and it holds up great and so does my arm. I would highly recommend this racket for the intermediate player. For more advanced players I would recommend putting lead tape on it.

Comments: I find it quite stable and it works for me because I usually play in all around game. Indeed, whenever I take full swings at the ball or simply want to block it in with a slice, this racquet performs perfectly. Combined with the LiveWire XP 17 it gives a nice pop and controlled feel. I really like it for that. I have improved dramatically, almost, when it comes to my groundstrokes and slices. I also feel better hitting my backhand, which is really powerful when I get it right in the center of the frame. The only gripe I could possibly have with the racquet is that I cannot generate as much spin off its small head as with the other racquets I have used. The spin only becomes apparent once you start to make an effort to brush up the ball and angle your face upwards.

Comments: This racquet is very maneuverable and quick feel in your hands and a great racquet for all- courters. The head size is small (95), so if you are looking for a big friendly sweetspot you should look elsewhere. If you have good strokes and good hand-eye coordination, you will enjoy this flexible player's racquet. It plays entirely different from the stiff/heavy Six.One 95's. The Six.One Team is best described as a light, maneuverable, comfortable racquet with excellent control. There is zero free power in this racquet, but the trade off is that you can take good swings at the ball and it won't fly on you. Whether you are a 3.5 NTRP or a 5.0 NTRP, keep the string tension in low 50's and use 17g.

Comments: I came to this racquet searching for control in a lighter frame. This racquet did satisfy most of my needs for control, but the light weight of the stick can cause it to be a bit shaky on mishits or on shots with pace if you don't generate racquet head speed (shouldn't be a problem, for the light weight allows fast speed). I placed some lead tape on the sides for stability and it plays much better with more pop and weight. I would recommend this racquet if you want control and a lightweight racquet.

Comments: I am a smaller player but play top 100 in my section in Boys 16s. I had previously been playing with the Pure Storm Tour but the weight just became to much. I demoed several sticks and ended up with this one. So far I am loving it! Arm issues have stopped and the racquet is far more maneuverable than my Pure Storm Tour. I also have to disagree with those who claim the stick is to light and unstable for serious players. I play with some of the top players in my state and so far this hasn't been an issue. Also nothing a little lead tape cant fix. Great racquet.

Comments: Absolutely top notch racquet. Has excellent feel and good power without being uncontrollable. The flex feels great and doesn't get pushed around by heavy hitters. I am a tennis academy director and I hit daily with high level juniors and I can vouch for the solid feel of this one. Easy to get around but still stable. Very customizable as well. Comments: This is my second stick after Babolat Aeropro Drive. Babolat gave me a monster spin but I change my stick because I wanted to improve on other aspects of tennis such as footwork, court positioning etc. 6.1 team is a excellent choice for intermediate players seeking game improvement. Here are some pros and cons in my opinion Pros: Excellent control maneuverability. Best suited for one handed backhand.(You can easily hit Roger style (BH). 18*20 string pattern helps players to refocus on other fundamentals of tennis such as footwork and ball positioning rather than relying on topspin to get the ball into the court. Cons: Not suited against hard hitters. May not help higher NTRP players.

Comments: I bought this because I wanted more control than I could get out of my Babalot AeroPro Drive. I've been playing less than two years, and I also wanted a less powerful racquet that would force me to use my feet and body rather than just 'arming it.' I love it. This racquet has great control and feel. Solid on impact. I can get almost as much topspin as I could with the Babalot and get a good pop on the serve. I hit fewer balls out, which gives me the confidence to take a long, full swing. I'm 6'2" and a former college football player, but at 50 years old, I just find it easier to swing than the Babolat. After a month I added two things to get a little more power: lead tape under the end cap to bring it up to 11 oz., and a loose stringing at 53 lbs. (By the way, I tried natural gut because they were on sale, and at 53 lbs. they lasted forever-- I played over 50 times before I changed them- unbelievable!). Not for beginners, but you don't have to be a 4.5 or better either. If you can generate decent power and hit a smaller sweet spot, you will love the control, feel, and maneuverability of this racquet.

Comments: If you are looking for a lighter version of the heavier 18 X 20 Dunlops, Wilsons, Princes, etc., then this racquet is worth a test drive. I hit with a full swing with plenty of topspin and a one handed backhand. This is a racquet I can swing with tons of confidence for hours without getting tired. There is not a shot I couldn't make if I could get to the ball. There was no need for me to add weight, but this is a great stick for customization if your game calls for a heavier version.

Comments: Just too light and unstable for serious players. Probably OK for younger juniors and lower NTRPs. Almost no plow, and gives a harsh unforgiving feeling when hit hard. The tight string pattern probably doesn't help in the forgiveness department. It's even worse if you hit off center. Even though spec-wise this isn't a "stiff" frame, the tight pattern ends up making this light frame feel stiff, which is not a good combo unless you're looking for wrist and elbow problems. Poly in this stick is not a good choice. If you're a Wilson devotee but can't quite swing the regular Six.One's, try the BLX Tour or Surge. Both light racquets, but more stable and forgiving.

Comments: I have traditionally played with Wilson rackets, even after a short stint with the Aero Drive GT. My all time favorite is still the original Pro Staff. I have used the Wilson Six-One Tour, but found it punishing on the arm, becoming heavier especially as the game goes on. The Six-One team BLX is more forgiving, lighter, good feel...great control and you can rip your shots with power. Highly recommended.

Comments: I demoed this racket quite a while back and I was very impressed, however I found my racket of choice in the blx tour limited this year. Then the blx team 6.1 came out and I demoed it. It was the 4th best racket I have ever tried behind blx tour limited, hyper hammer 5.3 and k-blade team 104. The feel depth and easy power was a joy to hit with from the baseline. The team blx 95 was great at net for volleying. The tight string pattern allowed me to slice well and to hit easy topspin shots effortlessly. I would say that honestly as I stated already that it is the 4th best racket I ever hit with. Wilson has done a great job trying to improve their rackets and satisfy the customer demands and keep up with the trends. It is a reason why so many pros pick Wilson as their racket of choice. It will be interesting to see what will be the next step in the technology upgrading in the rackets to come in this new decade.

Comments: My main racquet was the K-factor 6.1 95, which provided good feel on groundstrokes and excellent service power. However, after a heavy tennis schedule, I began to develop tennis elbow. I switched to the BLX 6.1 95 Team, and it allowed me to continue playing. There is a noticeable loss of power, however the feel is the same. Now that my tennis elbow is better, I will continue using the Team model, which is lighter. I lack power on "levered down" returns of serve and volleys, however I realize that I must move forward and have better footwork now. The weight balance of the K-factor 6.1 95 allowed me to hit shots without the best footwork. I've become a better player with the BLX Team model. I highly recommend it! It is not a beginner's racquet. It is best for more experienced players.

Comments: I originally purchased the BLX 95 Six-One Tour and really liked the feel of the racquet however it tired my forearm after about a set/half (hour or so) of play where I found myself starting off well, only to lose matches by the end of a 1.5 to 3 hour game. Backhand was the shot that tired first, struggling to get topspin finding many shots hitting the net and with for forehand flattening and going beyond the baseline. Wasn't so much the racquet not performing, it was more that my wrist and forearm simply tired and by the latter stages of the matches I ended up losing the feel for the shot and tried to compensate by hitting harder to shorten the points....with no success.
After about 3 months of this I ended up very frustrated, so I took my 11 year old son's KSix-One Team, which is noticeably a lighter racquet however with similar specs. Well the difference was noticeable from the first serve, to hitting tireless heavy (1- Handed) backhand topspin to ripping my forehand cross-court or flat down the line. Most noticeably as the game got longer, the feel and touch remained and as my shots got heavier (as I wanted to shorten the rallies)...the ball stayed within the baseline giving me confidence to let fly with full swings on anything short with heaps of maneuverability as if I was beginning of the match, not at the end...It felt great!! So convinced in the racquet vis-a-vis form, I asked my son to give up his racquet...of which he said no (smart kid)...so I went out and bought one for myself.

Comments: Got this frame because I'm playing a lot more doubles now, and figure it would be helpful to have a lighter & slightly large headsize frame upon the net. Usually use the 6.1 Tour (K & BLX) & I thought sticking w/the 6.1 family would be ideal. Wow, this racquet is totally different than I expected...it's light and hollow. It felt very unstable; the "ping" noise is endless even w/a dampener. The double holes didn't help either. Not sure why this frame is in 18X20 pattern. The glossy paint job looks very cheaply made, compared to 6.1 Tour. I suppose to counter the lightweight, it made it extremely head heavy, which was awkward. Overall it doesn't feel very solid. This frame plays very similar to K Bold, and somewhat like a K Tour. The price tag Wilson set on these are unreasonable, considering K Bold is half the price and near identical.

Comments: I ordered The BLX Six.One Team from TW early this year. It was a bit light, so I experimented with some lead tape (final weight is 337g). Good directional control. On the serve I can aim for short and sharper angle, probably due to the closed pattern. Volley is noticeably good. I hit topspin strokes, and I have no trouble generating spin with this stick. Comments: This is a great frame. I still play with the Prostaff 6.0 Original 95 and this is quite similar. It's much lighter and it moves through the air very nicely. I use it to play on the red clay where the ball just gets so much heavier and thus the weight of this racquet on the dirt is perfect. I can swing freely and not worry too much about it going out. Good balance, absorbs shock well, very solid, would definitely recommend it, no question.

Comments: This is a great stick! Very accurate and easy to play. I can master all spins on serves and was very confident hitting a second serve anywhere in the box, whether topspin or slice. Since it's only 10.7 once, it gives me too much power on first serves and fast shots. I am switching to the same racquet but the heavier version of it. I believe the 12.2 once (that I previously demoed) should give me more control on flat shots and hard first serves. Other than that I recommend it. It's very solid on all shots.

Comments: Plays very similar to the previous KSix-One Team, but it feels slightly stiffer. This could be the "blx" material in the frame or a slight change in the production line mold. I like it. I felt the K6-1 team was a little too flexible (especially in the upper half of the frame) for my taste, so a slightly stiffer frame is an improvement. As with previous comments, I have to agree with that new Wilson hybrid leather grip - just no good. I too removed it; replaced it with the Wilson leather grip and the Wilson pro overgrip......to me, this is the best combination of what I'm looking for - feel/sensation of the bevels and comfort. I also have to agree with a lot of the comments on the "improved" blx technology - see all the reviews under the blx tour 90. I play approximately 3-4 hours a week. Now, I'm not a pro, but I think I play enough. But I cannot really feel a big change or vibration improvement with the blx fibers in the frame.....at least not enough to go and get rid of my Kfactor 6-1 team and buy more blx 6- 1 team racquets. There is certainly not that much improvement in feel or performance to switch and spend more money. I'm 40 years old so I really appreciate the lighter weight. I use to play with the old prostaff 6.0 95 and then the tour 90 frames. The lighter frame certainly makes playing easier now. My serves feel more like "throwing" the ball again; I'm able to get around on my one-handed backhands faster (especially on return of serve); can react faster on volleys and other emergency shots. Also, my shoulder feels better after hours of playing.

Comments:Had 2y experience with K95 20x18 as my favorite racquet, but always struggled with overheads and serves. 1-h backhand tended to be flat, very difficult for me to produce topspin on this wing. Changed to Volkl PB Mid 93; this solved many of the problems. With doubles, I am still too slow even with the a bit swifter Volkl. So I tried the lighter brother of the K95 for doubles. Now, I am thinking to make the change for singles, too. In the topspin groundstroke and smash department this racquet is miles easier to handle. Surprisingly, I find myself to be more precise with the 95 Team. Long slices lack a bit of oomphh in comparison with the heavier racquets, and it is not as easy to block a fast ball back to sender; on the other hand, you haven't: even when returning fast serves or with half volleys, it is always possible to produce some kind of short, controlled stroke. After having played sticks in the 340g and above class, I am glad to have stepped down a bit.

I wish this was heavier, but I can always add lead tape. The grip is useless just get a leather grip and add an overgrip because I have no idea what Wilson was thinking with this grip.

Comments: After using the highly disappointing six one 95 box, I tried this. This racquet has a great feel even on off center hits, nice power, and nice flex. I wish this came in a 16x19 string pattern and was heavier but not as heavy as the 95's. I also have to mention that the paint job is even worse than the 95's. Overall, a 8.5/10.

I have used most of the Wilson KFactor/KBlade series, and this BLX is definitely on the top 5. I found slicing on this racket more effective, and easier, due to the improved feel. Volleys had pop and depth, serves powerful yet not too overwhelming. Winners from all over the court, drop shots easily made. Definitely a racket worth getting a demo, try it out! After getting both the same, then began tuning until I got what I wanted. That's the nice thing about lighter racquets- room to add weight...added quarter ounce under the trap door in the handle and 3 grams total lead weight at 3/9 and now it is a great racquet for me at about 11.1 oz. I'm used to a 100 sq. inch head size so it took a little while to transition but after that I was rocketing cross-court forehands constantly. Very spin friendly. I made 29 out of 30 and was very impressed with the control considering how light the racket was. Tried serving and on the very first serve hit it on the T. It was also very spin friendly on the serve too. A MUST try racket.

Comments: I first bought the BLX Six-One 95 and it was an awesome racquet, very solid, and allowed me to take big cuts at the ball and power my forehand cross-court and down the line with confidence. But, being a smaller framed person, the racquet was just too heavy for me. So I got the BLX Six-One Team and I'm loving it. It's very easy to maneuver and its lower weight allows me to get plenty of acceleration and consequently generate TONS of topspin off both wings. It has ever so slightly more power than its heavier sibling but provides generous amounts of control. That being said, it is still underpowered enough to allow me to take full swings without too much fear of having the ball sail long. I lost some ability to really plow through the ball, but gained a lot access to pace in the form of topspin. In some ways it is the racquet I've always wanted, providing plenty of control, plenty of access to spin, and it allows me to take a big swing when I want to really go for my shots. It's very maneuverable. For me, it's all around awesome.

Comments: I just played 2 hours with this excellent stick and I must say I totally agree with KD Bourne... I have played with a lot of players frames most recently: K six one Tour, K blade Tour, K Pro Tour, N Six One 95, Dunlop 4D 200 Team, Babolat Pure Storm Ltd. I am an all around player with developed full strokes so I look for a racket that gives me supreme control and feel/touch. I have found that I liked the feel of the Six One 95 the most and the kind of game I play with it, an all around game instead of a baseline bashing style, a style I can also turn too. Played with the aero pro drive for a while but wasn't satisfied with that type of play. Strange thing is that when I play with the six one 95 my friends commented I played smarter tactically and I won a lot of matches because of that. BUT my arm just couldn't handle the hefty weight (didn't have that problem with the K six one tour though) and it left me with an irritated elbow. So I figured I'll try the lighter version and played with the n code 95 team which has the same specs as the BLX team. It played great but it lacked power, so I am happy to say that this BLX version not only feels buttery smooth and more solid but it also plays heavier then it's weight class, I could relax and hit terrific topspin with my full western grip but I could also rip my shot flat for a winner on any ball midcourt. An important attribute to this frame (next to the feel) is the fabulous control it reminded me of the Babolat ltd, the second best frame on my list. It had me feeling like the king of the court, the amount of control gave me extreme confidence. I played on hardcourt today, tomorrow I'm hitting the slow red clay.... Can't wait to get a hybrid poly/gut string and some weight customization... Pleasant hitting everybody:)

Comments: Switched back to Wilson after I played with the new Prince XO3 Red. 6.1 Team is approx same weight as Prince but plays much lighter and generates much more pace. Easy to maneuver on groundies and volleys. Great stick.

Comments: This is an update to a previous post...I've added a total 4 grams of lead tape (9 - 3 points)...adds much more power and stability to this already fine weapon...indeed!

Comments: I just got this two days ago and I can't be more pleased with it. As a matter of fact. I'm ELATED!! I'm a 52 yr old former 4.5 all-court player (still in pretty good shape!) that just started playing again in September 2009. My former racquets (Wilson Pro Staff 6.1...the "Rainbow". You know the one Stefan Edberg played) was way too heavy for me after all those years of not playing and my arm was suffering something fierce hitting that thing. I bought two Babolat AeroPro Drives in September and wasn't all that impressed with them. Great baseline racquet but it basically didn't do the job for my all- court game. I hit a friend's K Factor Team and really like it...he also works in the tennis industry and told me that the new BLX 6.1 Team would probably be more to my liking since I'm really a "feel" player and preferred a lighter weight tour spec racquet. I have to say he was right...this racquet has great spin and is quite powerful from the baseline. My backhand (my best shot)...all I have to say is the CONTROL and FEEL with this racquet is AWESOME! I could zing it crosscourt with great topspin, power it down- the-line flat at will or slice and dice it with ease...Volleys had great control, pop, feel and landed deep into the backcourt. I could kick-spin serves to the outside or cannon it flat right down the T... basically placing it where I wanted. I liked it so much better than the K6.1 Team, I bought two! I would recommended this racquet to any adult all-court or doubles players looking for better CONTROL and FEEL or to the strong junior player looking to transition to a "tour" spec racquet. CONTROL AND FEEL...if you're that type of player, then you will find this racquet a wonderful scalpel for fine surgical precision on the court! Wilson...the have far exceeded my expectations with this new model. I LOVE IT!!
