Basalt fibers are woven longitudinally with [K]arophite Black into the makeup of the graphite. Wilson claims the Basalt fibers help reduce vibration and provide a cleaner response. Our playtesters were able to generate great racquet head speed on their groundstrokes, imparting exceptional amounts of spin from all areas of the court. Up at net, both touch and punch volleys felt solid and crisp. At just over 10 ounces, the Surge BLX is an ideal choice for players wanting to customize their racquet as they advance their playing level. A nice balance of power, control and spin, this racquet is a must demo for players 4.0+.
