According to HEAD, the Metallix 10 is their most powerful and technologically advanced racquet. The Metallix construction combines a matrix of carbon fibers and a new crystalline metal alloy. The alloy construction utilizes a grain size 1000 times smaller than typical metal making for dramatically increased structural strength. Our experience out on the courts finds plenty of merit to those claims. The Metallix 10 offers plenty of power from all court positions. The feel at impact is very comfortable and we found the sweetspot to be very generous. Only a compact swing is required to develop lots of pace and depth on shots. The open string pattern offers a lively feel and offers easy access to spin. The HEAD Stabilizer technology in the throat of the racquet makes for a dampened and comfortable feel. Maneuverability is excellent from all court positions making this a solid choice for smaller framed players. To further enhance the power potential of the racquet, HEAD's LMS technology places the throat bridge in a lower position, resulting in longer main strings and a larger sweetspot. All in all, this one makes a great choice for the player looking to add some serious power to their strokes without sacrificing comfort or maneuverability. Best suited from beginner to 3.5 level players.
