Test Drive

HEAD has responded to player demand with a whole new addition to the Radical line-up. In a departure from the traditional HEAD Radical tight string pattern, the Flexpoint Radical Tour offers an open 16/19 string pattern for easier access to spin and a more lively feel off the stringbed. We noticed plenty of extra kick to topspin serves and groundstrokes with this racquet. The heftier 12 ounce weight and slightly larger headsize (100 sq. in.) compared to the Flexpoint Radical Midplus made for more court penetration and some extra weight of shot from all areas of the court. The stock weight of this racquet also made it more stable during heavy hitting and provided our testers with a solid platform for defensive hitting. The head-light balance retains maneuverability on groundstrokes and volleys. We liked the weight and spin on sliced groundstrokes and approach shots. The extra flex in the head of the racquet offered plenty of feel when finesse was called for and the open string pattern offered a little extra bite to slice droppers. This solid racquet will find plenty of appeal with both baseline and serve and volley players. If you've ever wanted to try a heavier player's racquet, they don't come much better than this. The Flexpoint Radical Tour is a solid choice for aggressive players with sound technique.
