Available in two headsizes, the HEAD Protector
racquets look to smash the pain of tennis elbow. Both Protector racquets feature an Electronic Dampening System
(EDS). HEAD states that its EDS chip system creates a canceling counter vibration to dampen racquet vibration after impact
with the ball, resulting in greater comfort and dampening from the racquet. If tennis elbow is a problem you're familiar with, these
racquets are definitely worth a look.
Midplus
Light and maneuverable, the Midplus Protector is well suited to the all court game. From the baseline we found a comfortable and
fairly powerful response from this one. There's plenty of bite from the stringbed with both topspin and slice being easy to
generate. A moderately paced and length swing is all that's needed for deep baseline to baseline hitting. At net this one feels
maneuverable, yet offers plenty of comfort and a nice solid feel at impact. Players at the 3.5+ level looking to add a little zip to their
strokes without the stiff feel of a powerful racquet should definitely take this one for a demo.
Oversize
The Protector Oversize packs plenty of power, but thanks to a very comfortable response, only the ball - not your arm - takes a
beating. There's ample power from every area of the court with this racquet. Groundstrokes only require a compact to
moderate swing for deep baseline hitting. Like the Midplus, we found this one spin friendly for both groundstrokes and serves. The
115 sq. in. head offers a generous sweetspot and the Oversize Protector is very forgiving in play. A solid choice for the 2.5+
level player looking for a comfortable stick.
