In appreciation of Andre Agassi's retirement at the 2006 US Open, HEAD has released a special production of its venerable Radical racquet. The Radical found instant fame, thanks to the mesmerizing talent and always exciting to watch, Agassi. According to HEAD, this Limited Edition Radical is an exact replica of the original Radical racquet used by Agassi when he signed with HEAD in 1993. Each racquet features Agassi's signature on the shaft as well as his Grand Slam titles and the years he won them while using the Radical. To match Agassi's personal set-up, each racquet also features a blue overgrip, is strung with HEAD Ultra Tour 16L and comes complete with a rubber band tied in the strings to dampen vibration. A black racquet cover printed with Agassi's signature is included.
Playtesting has revealed this to be the real deal, old school Radical. This racquet offers increased control, stability and a more solid feel than both the Liquidmetal and Flexpoint Radicals. The heftier feel makes it a more demanding racquet to swing (less maneuverable), but solid technique is rewarded with an excellent blend of power and control. We tested this racquet as it ships - complete with factory string, rubber band dampener and blue overgrip.
