Available in two headsizes, 98sq. inch Midplus and 107sq. inch Oversize, the Gamma IPEX 7.0 racquets offer a control oriented response advanced players will enjoy. Featuring Gamma's IPEX technology which makes racquets stronger at the molecular level. Each IPEX racquet concentrates different high modulus carbon fibers throughout different strategic areas of the racquet, improving power, control and feel.
Midplus
Offering a flexible response full of feel and control, this one will find favor with players seeking precision shot making. We found a spin friendly response from the stringbed and lots of control on groundstrokes. There’s a nice blend of stability/maneuverability with this one, with enough mass to handle heavy hitting, yet a more than manageable swingweight that makes it easy to whip the racquet through the contact zone. At net the Midplus offers a very predictable response and we found excellent control on volleys. Players should find adequate pace and spin when serving with this one, again, with the emphasis primarily on control. The IPEX 7.0 Midplus is a very solid offering with lots of appeal for 4.0-6.0 level players.
Oversize
This racquet offers a high level of control combined with a generous sweetspot and a spin friendly response. Yes, there’s more power here than with the Midplus, but the emphasis is still clearly on control - more so than with other, modern player's oversize offerings. We found a nice, flexi feel from all areas of the court which combined to offer plenty of comfort and a very connected sense between player and ball. At net the racquet offers good maneuverability, some nice touch and a solid feel. When serving with this racquet we found plenty of action on kick serves and ample pace when flattening things out. All in all, this is a solid offering from Gamma and well worth a demo for player’s oversize racquet fans and those advanced players seeking a more forgiving racquet response.
