Overview

Introducing the 3rd generation of the Pure Strike 100, a light player's racquet that combines moderate power and spin-friendly precision with good feel. At approximately 11.1 ounces strung and boasting a 319-RDC swingweight, the Pure Strike 100 strikes the right balance between speed and stability. Like the previous generation, it has a hybrid frame construction (called Control Frame Technology), which blends the control and feel of square beam with the speed and dynamism of a modern elliptical beam. This racquet also has FSI Power technology which features wider spacing between the upper cross strings for easier access to spin and pace. New to this frame is C2 Pure Feel, a material technology that combines cortex with a uniquely flexible viscoelastic rubber at 3/9 o'clock for added comfort and dwell time. On groundstrokes, this stick feels fast, crisp and accurate. Although not as powerful as the Pure Drive or Pure Aero, the Pure Strike 100 packs enough pop to penetrate the back court along with the needed pocketing and touch for crafting droppers and sharp angles. Boasting a higher swingweight than the previous generation, this update does a slightly better job absorbing and redirecting pace, but it's still speedy enough for whipping up effective spin. At net, the Pure Strike 100 comes around fast to deliver good touch, above average stability for its weight class and decent pop on punch volleys. Aggressive servers will find enough spin, precision and power to force weak replies. This racquet also shines on service returns where it is versatile enough to block first serves deep or punish second serves. Ultimately, with some impressive tweaks to the feel, the Pure Strike 100 remains a great option for the player who wants a light player's racquet with easy targeting on full swings.

So far the best feeling racquetThis racquet matches my game perfectly. It offers controlled power, great feel, it's quite precise. Despite the high stiffness rating it feels comfortable. I previously played with Pure Drive 2018 and this one is miles better.

Wonderful RacquetI bought this racquet for my niece as an early Christmas present, as she just started playing tennis. She loves the racquet and her play has improved tremendously from the previous racquet she was using. I attend her lessons and when she's playing and she looks to be in tune with the racquet. She let me hit with it a couple of times and the racquet feels very nice. It is a bit light for me, but it is the perfect weight for a 13 year old girl.

My Favorite BabolatReally enjoyed my demo of this racquet and would put it at the top of my list of potential Babolat purchases. Groundstrokes and volleys were easy and fun with ample power, and while it doesn't serve with quite the power of a Pure Drive, I felt more confident of keeping my serves in play with this racquet, my partner commenting on how consistent my serving became with it. The only thing keeping me from buying a few immediately is that off-center hits definitely remind you it's about a RA 69, and that harsh feel has me concerned about the integrity of my elbow. If you've got durable joints, I think this is a terrific frame (even better when I put a little extra weight on the hoop).

Comments: My wife got into tennis this last year and needed an upgrade from an entry level racquet. She did a demo of 6 racquets and the Pure Strike was just right. She is a 2.0 - 2.5 player with an all court game and medium spin. This racquet has the right amount of spin, power, and control she needs to swing confidently. I'm a 4.0 club player and also enjoy hitting with this racquet. It's a little light for someone who has a more aggressive game, but that makes it good for a newer player still finding their swing. Would definitely recommend.

Comments: I love these racquets, they play very well. I replaced my 15-year-old Babolat Pure Strikes with them. I string them with natural gut at 54 lb tension. I'm a high 4.0 club doubles player.

Comments: Coming from good old Pure Storm bandwagon here. Time to upgrade finally and the move was superb! I don't really like previous Pure Strike generations 1 and 2, but this one is a pure beast. Four racquets were all stripped to casts, applied a half grip shrink sleeve, counterweighted to original HL, totaling 340 grams each. Enough plow to do 160 km serves, stay quick at net and withstand dense bombs of high humid Texas hitters. My biggest concern are grommets! Original one lasted for 12 months and about 12 to 15 restringing. The one I bought on TW to replace are too soft, ready to be replaced after five restringing, and are getting really damaged on the starting and tie offs for crosses, just in case I'm not into high tensions 51 and 49 pounds with Dunlop Black Widow 17 and Wilson Sensation 17.

Comments: I absolutely love this racquet, took me a couple weeks to get used to it, but love it now. I had my previous Babolats for over ten years and it was time to replace them. Tennis Warehouse customer service was great, shipping was great. The stringing was not so great. Both racquets I bought from them, the strings snapped within a couple hits.

Comments: Perfect for a hand-friendly racquet. If you can generate power in your swing, and you want the racquet-arm feel, which you don't get from the thick frame racquets that add power for those who do not have their own power, then this racquet is perfect.

Comments: Very good racquet for my 12 year old boy who likes power shots. It has better control than the Pure Drive. Has a good balance of power and control.

Comments: I bought the Pure Strike 100 after using the 98 and realizing that I'd been spoiled by the large sweetspot and power that comes with my old Wilson Hyper Hammer. I'd hoped for the Pure Strike 100 to give a boost in power. However, both Pure Strike racquets require significant player, supplied power, and are unforgiving when shots are attempted outside the sweetspot. I did find more power on my flat serves with the Pure Strike. My search continues.

Comments: Excellent racquet! Power, spin, comfort, easy to maneuver, but what impressed me the most is the control! Very good control for a 300 grams racquet! Plays very well with MSV Focus Hex Ultra white 1.20 mm, strung at 21 kilograms or 46 pounds. I know that the 98 version is more popular, but this 3rd Generation 100 version is really very good! I have tried a lot of racquets in the last few years. I strongly recommend this one for anyone who wants a versatile racquet.

Comments: Got my 6 foot 4 inches, 24 year old, ex-collegiate rowing champ niece a demo of this stick along with three others. A Head Graphine 360+ Gravity MP, a Prince Warrior 100, and a Head Speed S because the Yonex EZONE 100 wasn't in, and I wanted her to see why the light stick she thought she wanted wasn't for her. The idea was to give her a nice variety of medium weighted control-racquets, each favorably reviewed at TW. It's funny, she homed in on the Pure Strike 100 so fast my head practically spun as fast as her new-found topspin. What she liked in particular was how the 319 swingweight and 4 pts HL balance almost made her loosen up her grip and wrist, as none of the others could. She called it, a racquet I can grow into, that challenges me play better. The point is, the TW reviews have it right, this 3rd Gen Pure Strike 100, so different from its underpowered progenitor, is like the Project One7 was in 2017, an almost miraculous balance of control and power, a tweener holy grail, if you will. Indeed if I didn't already have, and love, my Project One7, I'd be honored to play with this 100, as none have ever felt so buttery before, at least to this 4.0 level player. All to say, if tempted, pull the trigger, demo this stick for yourself. I only differed from the TW reviews with the power. A couple of reviewers mentioned there being not enough. If you check out TW's Racquet University x-y graph on the TW reviews page, this 100's sweet-zone size and power potential rank in at least the top ten percent of all racquets, much like the Project One7. Likewise, I felt a heavy ball imparting plow through that belied the racquet's 11.1 ounce lightness. Indeed, to this 4.0 player at least, this stick plays much heavier than it weighs.
