Overview

With its updated material mix, Power Fiber II offers improved feel and durability over the original Power Fiber string. The multifilament construction of this string makes for a comfortable response with an emphasis on playability. We found good ball pocketing from Power Fibre II resulting in plenty of feel and control.

Volkl Power Fiber IIWhat I like about this string is not only the feel, but the poly coating over the multifilament makes it possible to fix (straighten) your strings easily. In other words, the poly coating minimizes grooving and allows you to easily move the strings back into place. It also helps with maintaining tension.

Comments: I tried this string in my V-Sense 4 at 48 pounds, full bed. It felt stiff, but not uncomfortable. I am lowering the tension to 46.5 to see if it makes a difference. I would have thought that in a 105 sq inch head it would have been better.

Comments: I ordered my '13 Aeropro drive GT+ with poly strings. The combination was way too stiff resulting in immediate elbow pain never felt before. Replaced it with a multifilament strung at a lower tension 50lb. Initial first hour play test felt very crisp, smooth power delivery, and had a satisfying pop feel. I'm a flat ball hitter so string movement wasn't an issue. Very comfortable on the arm, wrist, and elbow. Having the right string is like driving with the right performance tires.

Comments: It felt stiff for a multi but not uncomfortable. It maintained tension for about 5-6 hours, then felt flat. It provided minimal spin, though curiously, I served very well with it. I'm a 4.5 player who plays with moderate spin and power.

Comments: I felt I didn't get the topsin and the durability. After reading these reviews, I felt the opposite. It does get mushy and lacks control. I used a Head YOUTEK and am a 5.0 player. I broke these strings in about 4 hours of play. I prefer the Volkl V-Pro strings.

Comments: I have been playing this string for about 2 months now. It is a very good multi. I get good durability, spin, comfort and control compared to other "premium" multi's like SP Micronite, NRG2, BP X1, NXT, and LaserFibre Super Natural Gut Phenom. I think it is priced very reasonably too,I have a reel and my buy another.

Comments: Great durability, soft on the arm, tons of power...Power Fiber is a great string on the crosses with a co-poly on the mains.

Comments: Love this string and there's nothing else I could say. It's really better when compared to other multifilaments. Everybody should try this.

Comments: Being a frequent string breaker with arm issues I am always looking for the perfect combo. The problems with most multis is they break too fast and have a tendency to move around; the plus is lots of pop and touch with less impact on the arm. Using the Power Fiber 16 as a main and a nice soft multi NRG2 or Maximum Touch (even better) as a cross is a great hybrid. An arm friendly combo that has some durability along with playability. The Volkl string is a bit thicker 1.32 and stiffer than other multi's and adds some durability to the combo along with less string movement. The softer cross adds the pop. Play with the tension, I string the Volkl down a lb and up the cross.

Tension: mains 60 cross 63, oversize racket
NTRP Rating: 4.5 player

Comments: This is my second set, and it is a great string for the first 20 hours of play - crisp. After that the tension drops about 20% and becomes mushy and becoming more difficult to control the ball.

Comments: When I first got my new racket, I actually asked for this string, but the stringer didn't have it in stock, so I had to choose Babolat XCel Power. I was fairly satisfied with the racquet after that, but when I had it restrung I chose this. Right away, I noticed a definite power and spin improvement, particularly on the serve. It also had better feel, but I had to take out the vibration dampener. My groundstrokes were deeper and had more spin. I've used this string many times and have never had any durability problems. I was surprised that even with the same tension I had such a power improvement. As far as I'm concerned, you won't find a better multifilament for spin and power, and it's also easy on the arm too.

Comments: Nice multi for durability. I've been looking for a multi that plays and lasts = and this one is as close as I have come. The 16 gauge is 1.32 mm which is a bit thicker than most 16g strings. They play stiffer than some of the others Wilson nxt and Tecnifibre nrg2 so I have been stinging them down 2lbs which adds a bit to the feel. I have also tried them as a main with NRG2 as a cross which added some pop and feel. Will also try the new Hollow core Pro as a cross and Weiss cannon Explosive as a cross to see if I can get a softer hybrid feel going. If polys are a bit hard on the arm this Volkl could be a nice alternative as a main.

Comments: This string is good because it has power and spin. It has decent durability. It breaks in about 10 hours. I am 10 and use a Volkl tour 6. The tension I use is 56lbs. I use this string on the mains and Toa gold on the crosses.
