Comments: I have this racquet already, which I think I bought on ebay before I started playing tennis regularly. After demoing several racquets, nothing stood out as "the one" so I decided to order another of the same one. Was happy to find that TW still has some of these classics hanging around! It meets my intermediate needs and you can't beat the price!

Comments: Quick delivery -- just what I wanted! A very satisfied customer!
From:Janey, 3/6/21

Comments: This is a great racquet for the beginner. It lacks control a bit, not pinpoint accurate, but it has great power for those not adept enough to take full swings and keeps balls deep. Great punch power when returning powerful serves as well. This is not the racquet for the advanced player looking to get an edge with spin and precision, but it is hard to beat at the price.
From: Derek, 3/5/21

Comments: This racquet is incredibly light! I am a beginning to intermediate player and wanted an update to an earlier Head racquet I owned. So far I like it and think it will meet my needs for playing socially.
From: Marcy, 1/11/21

Comments: Just got mine because a friend who used to be a pro at the San Francisco TC had one, she was Navratilova's hitting partner when the tour came to town. The racquet feels more stiff than I expected, but not harshly so. I expect this to change when I get rid of the stock nylon string and get my own multifilament put in. As for playing it did everything I wanted. Touch shots, my forte, were easy to hit and I found the control generally good. The power was adequate and I detected no wobbling on hard shots. I have lead tape running from 10 o'clock to about 8 o'clock on the sides to make it more stable. Defensive reaction shots are made noticeably easier by the extended length, large hitting surface and lesser weight. I would have to say the TI.S5 has exceeded my expectations as this frame was ordered without any pretesting and I expect to be getting a few more to keep me stocked for the next several years of chipping and charging doubles.
From: Geoff, 9/25/20

Comments: Very nice racquet for intermediate beginner to intermediate who is hitting well, but likes it light. It is really smooth, gives you plenty of space and the head really isn't an impediment. Budget wasn't a major issue and was looking and demo'ed higher end $200 racquets, but in the end, even though cheaper, I am happy with the purchase.
From: Kmna, 9/6/20

Comments: Not the twin brother to the original Titanium Ti.S5 at all. I now have two of the originals Ti.S5 and they play much better. I tried the Comfort Zone thinking it was the same as the original and after 3 months of trying to use it I studied the string pattern and realized I wasn't imagining that the racquet IS very different from the original. I could not play with it and went back to my 1990's original Ti.S5 even though I could not get a new head guard/protector for it.
From:Tigsy, 2/1/18

Comments: Inherited the old version from my Grandad and am very pleased with it. It's lighter than a lot of junior racquets but has good power and control for all that. This racquet has been used a lot and shows no sign whatsoever of cracking at the handle. Seems nice and solid.
From:Maxwell, 11/16

Comments: I am an advanced beginner to intermediate veteran player who only plays social tennis. I asked for something gentle for my chronic golphers elbow. I was shown a few racquets but not so many as to become confusing, and selected the Head TiS5. It has proven to be very friendly to my elbow and meets my needs very well for my level of play. The sales help from Tennis Warehouse was spot on.
From:Phil, 12/15

Comments: My experience playing with the Head Titanium Ti.S5 Comfort Zone racquet was that it was very easy on the shoulders and elbows. Also, when serving with this tennis racquet, I noticed it was very accurate. Also, found that I didn't have to put a lot of effort when swinging with this racquet because of it's power. Overall, I had a positive experience playing with this tennis racquet.
From:Anonymous, 12/15

Comments: Played with this racquet for two years until it cracked (may have been damaged in my garage). Did not hesitate to buy another one. Like many here, I have shoulder problems and the light weight helps a lot. Demoed it with three other racquets and there was no comparison with the weight. It's like using a fly swatter. The ball has a tendency to sail because this racquet has a lot of power.
From:Anon, 10/14

Comments: This racquet saved my career (such as it is). I'm 71 years old but play several times a week. I had frozen shoulder and arm muscle problems and could barely serve with my old tennis racquet. I tried rest, physical therapy, and nothing helped. My opponent gave me his old Ti S5, and within three weeks my shoulder and arm were totally painless, and I was possibly hitting the ball better than ever! I know this sounds like it was written by a company shill, but it's not.
From:Jim, 12/12

Comments: I have been using Head Ti.S6. Compared to that racquet, this Ti.S5 tennis racquet does not meet the expectations. Swing weight is less and swing speed is also less. The weight falls on the handle rather than the head. It is not a powerful racquet. Even aggressive players cannot play well.
From:Shankar, 10/12

Comments: I'm very disappointed. I got 3 of these in February and I like the racket, but in August I hit a shot and thought I broke my strings, but a few minutes later I noticed it cracked pretty well at the throat. This seemed very odd so I checked one of my other racquets and noticed it was cracking slightly too. I have a third, but I expect this is a flaw in the racquet and it's just a matter of time before this one cracks. Surely, Head is aware of this flaw. I'm dealing with returning the racquets and trying to get replacements.
From:Brad, 9/12

Comments: Demo'ed this racquet with three others and really liked the light weight. I have a shoulder injury that flares up when I play a lot and this raquet will help a great deal.
From:Ken, 8/12

Comments: This racket is perfect for people just finally getting around to using a decent racket. I found it heavy allowing me to put less effort into my swing. It has a good string pattern for top spin. I didn't even have to swing hard on it to produce spin. If you're wanting something that gives you more movement and power and less weight to lug around on the court, then this is a great choice. It's decently priced for what it offers.
From: Anon, 1/12

Comments: This racquet offers pretty fair control with a sizable sweetspot. However, this racquet is more suited to players with slower swing speeds. I have a fast swing speed so when I go for those slam topspins, the ball usually flies on me. However if you are looking for tons of spin this is a racquet to consider. The fan-shaped string setup combined with the open 16x19 string pattern is perfect for those slices of a topspin with lower swing speed.

Comments: I have been using this racquet for 15 years now. It does not break, crack or anything else that easy (made in Austria by the way). Though I still prefer the Head "intelligence". The weight of the Ti S5 is in its head, that is what gives a great pop to the serve and winners, but I feel a lack of control. I can't really get the control I need during volleys either. My 13 y/o daughter uses it now.
From:Rosalia. 5/11

Comments: Please tell the big shots at head never ever stop making this racket. I have been using this racket for the past 5-7 years. Probably bought at least 5 through the years. It's a great racket. My son is 7 y/o and he is using this now. His game has improved tremendously.

Comments: Great racquet, but a bit light for players with a bigger swing and above a 3.5 rating. Putting a little weight at the corners and top of the racquet will help a lot. It reduces racquet vibration, assists with more pop on your serve, and allows you to swing more naturally with the lighter and stiffer TSI5 racquet. I am a high level 4.0 and a little weight really helped. This is one sweet racquet.

Comments: I really like this racket except for the string that keeps popping. I play 3/4 times a week (2-3 hrs each time) but I've been breaking the string each week (tried many different kinds at many different tension sets including hybrid-hybrid lasted 2 weeks but it costs twice as much as synthetic). If it wasn't for this string-breaking, I'd give it a five star.

Comments: I agree with the last poster. This racquet has great control but since it has no weight it lacks power. To hit with pace you have to swing as hard as you can and make sure you throw your body into every shot. This can be a bit tiring having to work this hard.

Comments: This racquet lacks weight which makes it very maneuverable but makes serving with pace a challenge. Groundstrokes and volleys were very nice and since it's so light control was good. Comfort was just OK compared to many of the newer frames. Overall the S5 was a very easy racquet to play with but, serving was a nightmare for me. Aces and unreturnable serves cannot be done with this frame. Which is a real shame because it does everything else very well. I would not recommend this frame because opponents will be T-ing off on your 60 mph serves.

Comments: I really like this racquet. It is an excellent value and at a great price. This racquet is excellent, very maneuverable, really great for volleys. My volleys really improved with this racquet. The racquet has good pop on the serve and you can hit powerful groundstrokes with a medium swing. I did find that I could expand the sweetspot and enhance its stability for returns of heavy/fast serves by adding a bit of lead tape. I added lead tape at 9 and 3 o'clock and also at the top of the racquet for even more pop on my serve. I added a similar amount of lead tape at the end of the handle under the grip to keep the balance of the racquet the same. I play with this racquet leaded up and on occasion one without lead tape, depending on how tired I might be or other conditions. As for the durability of the racquets. You can't prove by me that they are prone to breakage. My racquets have slipped out of my hand on hot sweaty days while serving at least 10 times, they have not cracked or shown any damage beyond scuffing. IMHO, those posting here with cracking problems either got racquets out of a bad factory run or their racquets were abused in some manner, either by the player themselves or by a not so good racquet stringer. In the past I've used Wilson Pro Staff 5.0 and Wilson Hyper Pro Staff 6.1 with the 105 or so sq inch head and extra long body. The extra lightness of the Head Ti S5 makes it a better racquet for most players in the 4.0 or below class than the 12+ oz racquets like the ones I used to use.

Comments: Loved Ti5 from its historic start. My 1st racquet warped when left in car. Second one after years of use just cracked. Now about to buy my 3rd one and I hope the new version will be as suitable for my game now that I am 75yrs old! I get a nice pop on serve and I like the lightness as I have weak wrists - the power should come from the shoulder turn.

Comments: I am an Intermediate player, and I love my TiS5. It has not, contrary to the comments on this forum, broken in a year, and is great for me because it is long, helping on volley, light, puts pop into my serve, and has almost no balance. That is a good thing for me, because I hit topspin with an Eastern grip. This is not a beginner's racquet, because it is so narrow, and gives no room for mis-hitting. It also is a good recovery racquet, so you can still hit a good shot if you are a bit late.
From:Akil, Cary, NC, USA. 04/09

Comments: My comments may be void because I do not play with an out-of-the-box Ti S5. It is too light and lacks stability, but I solved that problem. I added a total of 2oz. of weight to the racquet. I used lead weights in the handle and lead tape on the head at 9 and 3. It is now a much more stable, and comfortable racquet. I love it even when hitting power shots against very good baseliners. Its length is definitely an asset at the net, especially in doubles.

Comments: I used to Wilson Hammer 6.2 (the old one). I thought that never I would change it, though one day a workmate brought me a Head Titanium S5i. Since then, I've improved a lot. This is my favorite racquet. I've been thinking to try on a S6 i.

Comments: I have had this racquet for a year and 3 months and have been fairly pleased with it although it doesn't suit my game style. It's great for serves, volleying and backhand but I have struggled on the forehand side with it. I find it is too light and produces uncontrollable power when going for winners.

Comments: I have had this racket for only 3 months now, but the first time I played with it was 4 years ago. I have decided to own one at that time, and thanks they are now back with a very reasonable price. I have read a couple of negative comments, and I wonder about durability of it. As I have broken two rackets previously. Hope this one will last longer.

Comments:I personally think this racquet is awful. It is too light and it's way too easy to break the frame. This racquet is one only for beginners to intermediate players. If you want to step your game up to the next level you need a different racquet. I would recommend the Babolat Aero Drive for anyone who is serious about stepping up there game. I have this racquet now and I play number five on my high school team, which went undefeated this year and I did too. I owe it to this new racquet.

Comments: I really like the Ti S5 Comfort Zone. It's very light and definitely has good pop. It made my serve a lot better, instantly. I was using a Prince Thundercloud Titanium, but it had too much pop and you couldn't aim the ball well. However the Ti S5 Comfort Zone has pretty good pop and you can place the ball fairly easily. I recommend to anyone who needs a little more pop in a racquet.

Comments: This is my first racquet, and it works great for me. I'm one of the best players on jv and I'm a freshman. All the other players on the team like it. It's light weight, and I can serve faster and with more control than my friend's racquet that I used.
From:Marc, Illinois. 3/08

Comments: This is an excellent racquet for all players. Its control is unmatched and has a nice amount of power. The only great flaw with this racquet is it will break if your not really careful I bought this racquet 4 weeks ago and 2 days ago it broke on my during a match when I served and I hit the ground. I only recommend this to players seeking control over power.
From:Tron, Fort Worth, Texas. 3/08

Comments: This is the best racquet I have ever used for doubles. Over the past five years I have tried more than a dozen rackets, trying to find the perfect one for doubles. The TiS5 came out the best. The harder you hit with this racquet the more control you have. This is not a beginners racquet by any means.

From:Evan, 06/07

Comments: The Head Ti S5 Comfort Zone is the racquet that I have been looking for. I have tried various racquets and I finally think I will settle on this one. I like its lightness but it has very steady feel even on strong volleys and the best part is its maneuverability. Now I can control my placements even on returns from hard drives of my opponents. I think this racquet was built for me. I even purchased a spare in case Head will stop selling them.

Comments: I have used the Head Ti S5 Comfort Zone for several seasons. I first selected this racquet because it was light, large, and long, meeting my particular requirements. I have not regretted my decision since. This racquet has the control and power that I seek, and lets me work the ball effectively on all strokes. Any other racquet felt like a club in my hands. When I literally wore the Ti S5 out (in its fourth season), I demoed a few different models, thinking that perhaps it was time to trade up or move in another direction. The whole experience was frustrating, and I finally made a decision to purchase another Ti S5 CZ. It's nice to see that they're back at a nice price.

Comments: I got the S5 first as a demo from my tennis coach after finding out my current racquet wasn't up to par. The moment I stepped on the court and took two ground strokes I knew it was for me. I play on JV tennis 1st and 2nd singles for a high school in Ohio and this racquet improved my play drastically! I'm amazed at the amount of control and speed I can get on the ball with out having to kill the ball. Definitely a good racquet for average players...at least in my case.
From: Todd, Silver Lake, OH. USA 7/01

Comments: I just started playing with the Ti S5 Comfort Zone and am pleasantly surprised at the stability of the frame, particularly on volleys and reaching shots. My backhand slice and passing shots have much more zip than with the Ti S2 used previously. There is a pronounced difference in the level of torque and stress in comparison to other titanium racquets used. This one is much gentler on the arm and elbow. The increased length will take some adjusting on the forehand side, but I'm not slinging them out-of-bounds like I thought I might. Overall, a very favorable review and the price has come down.

Comments:I really love the Head Ti S5 Comfort Zone. I feel as if I can't serve with any other racquet, because this one spoiled me for good. It adds wonderful pop to serves, volleys and overheads. Plus it really revved up my backhand. (I'm a 3.5-4.0 player.) But the sad truth is that this racquet re-aggravated my old tendonitis problems. Lowering the tension and stringing with 17g. string have not helped. Another person I know has the same Head racquet and developed the same arm problems. We both are going back to our Prince racquets (I have a Thundercloud Oversize). I plan on keeping the Head around for matches and looking for something else for drills and recreational play. Too sad, because the Head performs terrifically!

Comments:I'll start by saying that I really like the Titanium Ti S5 Comfort Zone. I have been playing with a Wilson Sting midplus for eight years, and decided that I wanted something lighter and more maneuverable at net. Well, let me say that the Head Ti S5 Comfort Zone answered the call on both accounts and more. My serves have picked up about ten to fifteen mph, ground strokes are powerful with this racquet but with control - everyone knows power is nothing without control. The Ti S5 is a good happy medium; it blends all aspects of the game nicely. One sidenote: my first time out with the Ti S5 I was a bit shaky; the lightness of the racquet took a little getting use to, but all is well after my second time using it. Anyone looking for a nice all around racquet should take a look at the Ti S5 Comfort Zone. That old Sting feels like a 2x4 when I pick it up now!

Comments:I like the Ti S5 Comfort Zone. It's light enough to make a correction when you're late for a shot but still has the power to drive the ball. I'll be buying another one in the spring.
