Overview

Updated with a new frame construction along with improved feel, Head's Graphene Touch Instinct MP remains a very user-friendly option for intermediate ball strikers. This racquet should also work well for the advanced player who needs a light player’s racquet with controllable power and easy access to spin. Compared to the previous generation, the Graphene Touch Instinct MP is a tad more head heavy, but it remains extremely maneuverable. It also comes with a slightly thicker beam, which creates a livelier, more even feel on off center impact. Thanks to the addition of Graphene Touch to the layup, this racquet should have enough dampening to satisfy comfort seekers. From the baseline the Instinct MP is fast and lively, but it also comes with the kind of accuracy that inspires big cuts and aggressive targeting. The muted feel helps soften the ride, and the open 16x19 string pattern supplies more than enough bite for bringing the ball down sharply with spin. At net this stick errs on the side of speed, making it ideal for those who want quick positioning when the pressure is on. Like its predecessor, this version of the Instinct MP also comes around fast on service returns, making it easier for you to step in and attack the ball. All in all, Head has produced a fine update to the Instinct MP. Offering a slightly more dampened ride, this racquet is a nice option for intermediate and advanced players who want a modern player's racquet with a speedy and precise feel.

Comments: Having experience with the original Graphene edition but not the XT, I had an idea as to what to expect out of the Touch version. I've hit it with Volkl Cyclone 18 at 53 lbs in the mains with a round poly in the crosses and then with Y-Tec Quadro Twist 17 in the mains at 58 lbs and Tourna Black Zone 17 in the crosses. In stock form, easy access to spin and very easy to swing, even for its weight class. The comfort was better than the Graphene version but I felt that it sacrificed quite a bit of feel, leaving me disconnected with touch shots. The power was surprisingly low and the stability wasn't improved since the Graphene iteration. Overall, it was a mediocre racquet and I would just stick to the Pure Aero or Pure Drive if in stock form. However, I played around with the weight, adding 0.2 grams to the 3 and 9 o'clock positions in 3 inch strips and counterbalancing it in beneath the grip. After than customization, it was at 11.6 oz (330 grams) and played incredible. More power on serves, excellent stability, still very fast and easy to hit with spin. Almost everything that felt lackluster suddenly felt like a strength for this racquet. The only thing the added weight couldn't help was the feel. Aside from that, a very fun stick to hit with.

Comments: Not only is the paintjob awesome but the playability is great! I added a leather grip, overgrip, weight to the hoop and and some soft poly strings and this thing is money. What you will find is this stick cries for some lead at 12:00, 3:00 and 9:00, then your serve comes alive and your groundstrokes and volleys will be rock solid!

Comments: This is a phenonminal stick! In stock form it is a bit light but it is extremely customizable and with a bit of lead at 3 nd 9 and counterweight on the handle for balance, it is as good if not better than anything on the market today. Don't be mislead the negative hype, demo the reacquet with a full bed of soft poly or hybrid and play around with some lead and you will be astounded by what this baby can do!

Comments: I have never been more pleased with a racquet purchase. I am a 4.0. As soon as I put the racquet in my hand I was a 4.5. That was with a factory string job. The racquet does everything! Perfect ground strokes off both sides. Perfect volleys & serves! The racquet produces a lot of power without sacrificing accuracy. After demoing the racquet, I bought one from Tennis Warehouse & used their racquet string guide to get the perfect strings at the perfect tension! I give this racquet a good five stars or more if I could! This is not a girls racquet even though Maria Sharapova endorses it! Even the strongest male hitter would appreciate this racquet. It's not quite as stiff as some Babalot's or Wilson's. That's why I love it!! It won't let you down! City, State, Country: Las Vegas, NV
