Overview

The Graphene Touch Speed Adaptive is easily one of the most versatile racquets ever made. In stock form it is perfectly weighted for strong beginners, competitive juniors and intermediate level adults. At under 11 ounces, this racquet accelerates with remarkable ease and offers great feel, easy access to spin and controllable power. It also comes with Graphene Touch, the most comfortable version of Head’s polarized weight system.

What separates the Adaptive series from any other on the market is the degree to which Adaptive racquets can be customized to meet your needs. By selecting the option for the Adaptive Tuning Kit, you can have TW build the perfect racquet for your game! You can choose between two different string patterns, three different lengths and a variety of weight modifications. By selecting the 16x16 string pattern, you’ll find a nice boost in spin potential coupled with a higher launch angle (easier net clearance). If you’re looking for extra stability and plow through, you can select heavier grommets. This will put some very effective mass at 3 & 9 o'clock, resulting in a more solid feel on off-center hits. You can also select a heavier butt cap insert to tail-weight the racquet and create a whippier more head light feel. Finally, if you want some extra momentum along with more reach and a juicier combination of pace and spin, you can select one of the extended length options. Those who choose not to buy the tuning kit can always purchase it later, allowing them to modify the specs as needed. With the Graphene Touch Speed Adaptive, Head has created a genuine game changer. This extremely versatile racquet can be made to fit a staggering range of playing styles and ability levels.

To select from the many customization options, check the box for "Yes, I want to customize my racquet with the HEAD Adaptive Tuning Kit for $29.95."

If you want to purchase the racquet in stock form and customize it later, you can purchase the Tuning Kit separately.

Comments: I was looking for a softer racquet with more feel than the Aero Pro GT Team and demoed some Prince and Head racquets. I ultimately settled on this model just based on specs, and because of the included adaptive kit and similar weight to mine. I'm a 3.5 with some wrist pain, so I used the two I bought in stock weight and balance (285 g), syn gut at 48 lbs, one with 2 of 3 extension rings, so .4" longer. The feel is excellent. An interesting peculiarity is that the string spacing of the mains is very even, unlike my old racquet, which has a more dense mains spacing in the middle. Not sure if that matters at all but I like the idea of this racquet's more consistent string bed no matter if I hit on or off- center. The volleys feel great and the racquet feels very accurate. I seem to have more confidence on overheads and serve also (which has always been the case for me with Head racquets). Awesome racquet. Once my wrist gets stronger I might play with the adaptive weights a bit, but regardless, the stock setup truly feels great to me!

Comments: Great racquet. It is very arm friendly. I think I am going to replace my older Blade 104 with it. It really doesn't feel soft like most racquets in the sub 60 flex rating like the older Prince Tours, Team Blades, etc. I can also put balls away with it which I struggled with the flex Prince Tours, Team Blades, older Yonex racquets, etc. I also am getting loads of spin off of it. Not sure if it's the 16x19 pattern or that I am so used to the Blade 104 which is 18x19.

Comments: This racquet is like butter. I am using Solinco Tour Bite 17g at 45 lbs and a leather grip, of course. I have maxed-out the length with the inserts and added the heaviest but cap. I also added some lead tape for plow through at 12 o-clock across all of the mains on both sides of the head. It's truly an amazing soft racquet. I play at the 5.0 level and everyone is telling me that my ball much heavier with tons of spin and with pace. On many of my shots I have asked them "are you sure that ball was in." The feel is amazing on every shot, even volleys. The ball just dwells in the frame and snaps out with tons of spin and pace, but I feel nothing on my arm and I mean nothing, even with no dampener. I am a hug fan.
