Overview

Babolat's VS Original Overgrip is one of the thinnest overgrips available. It offers a smooth, non-inhibiting surface, and a two week TW playtest showed good durability. This comfortable, soft feeling, easy to wrap overgrip is popular with both ATP and WTA players. It fits standard and extra long racquets.

Great feel!I was a long-time Tourna grip user, but this feels so much nicer. I love the aesthetic too. After about three uses, it start to wear out around my thumb and base of middle finger. However, it is still soft and absorbent. High marks!

Great OvergripLove the absorption and tacky feel. Doesn't increase grip size and gives you a secure feeling with the grip.

Great grip- helps with sweatWhite seems popular for a color and if you are brand loyal to Babolat this is a great purchase. If you sweat and go through grips why not stock up.

If you need thinBought these to go on my Yonex VCORE 98 2023 because the Yonex grip is bigger than my previous Wilson racquet. For how thin they are these are great. Buy them if you need a thin overgrip. They don't last long since they are thin, so you may need to replace more often than others, but totally worth it to improve my grip size. I also replaced my base grip with the Babolat Syntec Team Replacement grip.

Thinner than I thoughtThese are a good product, but they are thinner than I thought and won't last very long.

Just rightThis is a great overgrip, that is thin enough that it doesn't add an extra "size" to my racquet, and yet strong enough to last a brutal session on a hot day. Love it.

Comments: These are the best over grips I've ever played with. They have some tackiness, but most importantly work for sweaty hands by keeping the grip pretty dry. Most importantly, they're thin. Oh, and by the way, they work for one of the best players of all time. Vamos, Rafa!
From:Johnny, 7/16/17

Comments: My new favorite! I used to use Supergrap and Tournagrip but those made the grip too fat. This is ultra thin and kind of feels like Tournagrip but with a little added tackiness.
From:Sam, 10/16

Comments: If you don't like tacky grips this is the one for you. It's the most comfortable overgrip I've ever used. Felt-like feel, and stays very dry, making it easy to change your grip as you play.
From:Roger, 9/16

Comments: I really loved the feel of this grip, it gave me a nice feel to my Wilson racquet. But it did wear out in about two to three days. A hole appeared on it (probably from my hands), but I don't mind re-gripping my racquet every week or so. If you sweat a lot on your hands, then I think a color other than white could be better, but this was one of the best overgrips I've used.
From:Matthew, 9/15

Comments: If you want a grip that hardly increases the size of the original grip of the racquet -- this is the one!
From:Phillips, 8/13

Comments: The feel of the grip is satisfactory, but there are few big problems with this overgrip. The biggest one is that this overgrip wears out too fast, in just two to three matches. Secondly, it is too short. It feels powderly but it is tacky enough to play with. Anyway, I do not recommend it.
From:Alex, 12/12

Comments: Very thin, dry-powder grip. Nice feel to it. Slipping was not aproblem for me, because my hands never sweat. Wears out incredibly fast. After a while, the grip starts sliding (no matter how well I wrap it) toa point where it's too uncomfortable for play and I have to wrap a newone.
From:Eddie, 4/12

Comments: After trying this OG, nothing else will do. It's thin enough that you can feel yourbevels and it doesn't destroy my hands like some of the tackier grips do.
From:DW, 3/12

Comments: It seems that for this grip, you either love it, or hate it. Personally, I love this grip. Been using it for two years and no other grip feels quite like it. The feel is incredible. You really seem connected to your racket. It is very absorbent, especially in those tight, three set matches. Tackiness is less than the wilson pro, which is perfect. I don't like a "sticky grip". Granted, the grip will begin to show signs of wear after the first 8 hours of play and by 15 hours the grip is torn. Personally, it doesn't bother me very much because my hand is practically a calloused glove now. I wouldn't recommend it to those who blister easily. Quite easy to wrap and the box makes transporting easy. I usually order these in bulk packs of 12. My favorite overgrip of all time. I am a 5.0 baseliner, with a 2 handed backhand.
From:Kyle, 12/11

Comments: I must have tried every overgrip made, and for wintertime play, this is my favorite. It's thin, giving excellent feel on my Wilson Pro Open, and it's tacky enough that it stays put, even when returning pace. With that said, I do prefer the Wilson Pro Overgrips in summer, as they do seem more absorbent to me. In summer, after about a set, the Babolat VS overgrip is a "slip and slide", while the Wilson Pro is still just as tacky. Otherwise, the only downside is that this is the shortest lived overgrip, needing replacement every 5-7 hours of play. For the comments about it being short, I have at least 5-6 inches of material to trim at the end!
From:Mike, 11/11

Comments: I'm using the Wilson BLX Six.One Tour, I have to say this is one of the best overgrips I've ever had. However, it comes with a funny white dust I don't know what is it. But it keeps the overgrip dry, and the ultra-thin design makes my racquet hold very solid and comfortable. Also, the softness of the grip is very good for me, no more blisters!
From:Alfonso, 10/11

Comments: I found the grip to be too short. I can only cover 2/3 of my replacement grip. Not good for 2 handers.
From:Mike, 10/11

Comments: I really wanted to like this overgrip. I loved the feel of it but it kept slipping and shifting out of place after about ten minutes. I had to throw it away. On the bright side it leaves behind some stuff that really dries your original grip which I like a lot.
From:John, 8/11

Comments: I found this to be a good overgrip. However, I think the life of the grip is too short.
From:Steven, 8/11

Comments: Both my brother and I use this grip, he as the Babolat AeroPro Drive GT and I have the Wilson BLX Six One Tour. This grip is perfect for my brother but for me it always slips down. I thought it was the leather grip so I replaced it with a head replacement grip but it still happened. I guess this grip was made especially for Babolat racquets. One more thing is that I play a lot and this grip does not last. It lasts for a week at most.
From:Anon, 8/11

Comments: Many people seem to be comparing this overgrip to the Wilson Pro, which was previously my overgrip of choice. The Wilson has more tack, is easier to apply, has more absorbency, etc. But what it lacks in those areas, the VS makes up for in feel. Dry to the touch, doesn't increase grip size too much, and makes you feel really connected with the racquet, especially with a leather grip underneath. However, the lack of absorbency and overall durability issues could be a problem for some. If you have the time, resources and inclination to replace your overgrips frequently, and enjoy dry feel and extreme thinness, this is the overgrip for you. My new overgrip of choice.
From:Patrick, 7/11

Comments: I have been pleased with my Wilson Pro but when it was out of stock a few months ago I decided to try out some Babolat grips. Big mistake. I was displeased with the tack on them primarily. This makes the grip break open easily (this has never happened to me before, and I am a good over gripper) which is very uncomfortable.
From:Josh. 6/11

Comments: If you like the way that Tourna Grip feels, but you don't have the luxury of buying grips all the time, this the grip for you. This pretty much feels exactly like Tourna Grip only this grip lasts much longer.
From:Anon. 6/11>

Comments: Not long enough to wrap my 4 1/2 handle. It doesn't last more than ten days playing four times a week. Not for me. There are better ones out there.
From:Cristian, Sebastopol, CA, USA, 08/10

Comments: Best grip ever. I love using this vs grip because of how thin it is and dry feeling it gives you. Its pretty durable but not as good as Wilson overgrips. Feels a hell lot better then the "the light blue grip that does slip" tournagrip which really does slip.
From:Anon, 07/10

Comments: This og really is fantastic. Tremendous feel, and considering it's very thin, it is surprisingly durable. Big thumbs up to Babolat OG's
From:Ryan, Vancouver, Canada, 04/10

Comments: I will never use this overgrip again really uncomfortable, not durable. It lasts me for 1 or 2 matches compared to Wilson Pro which last much matches.
From:Jaime Espinoza, Lima, Peru 03/10
Racquet: Wilson BLX Six One Tour (4 3/8)
String: Luxilon Adrenaline 17G

Comments: I am disappointed in Babolat grip now. I thought this grip would turn out to be great, keeps your hand dry, a bit sticky. NOTHING. It peels the first hour I put it on. I can understand that I have callus, but I had the Wilson overgrip and it never peel the first hour. I WILL NEVER BY THIS AGAIN!
From:Anon. 12/09

Comments: This grip is barely long enough to wrap my 4 5/8 handle. Unlike Wilson Pro overgrip which always has a few inches extra to spare.
From:anon. 10/09

Comments: I've played with this grip for 6 hours a day of training and amazingly the feel is still just like you newly change the overgrip, usually it lasts for 13 hours of play/training for me. But since the overgrip is thin so the overgrip could be torn off quickly.. because I always throw my racquet when I'm angry on court...(3.5 serve and volley)
From:Firdaus, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 7/09

Comments: Horrible! This grip tears so easy! I played it a couple of days and it peeled to the first layer! Do not buy!
From:Jarrett, Norman, Oklahoma, USA. 6/09

Comments: Man I've never felt anything like it. They last a lifetime even when they are dirty. They're still sticky, but there not uncomfortable! Anyway Babolat VS is the best thin durable overgrip out there! I use the Wilson (K) Factor Surge and Babolat has help its power and (K)ontrol. What more could you ask for!?.
From:Anon. 3/09

Comments: Not the best overgrip out there. Feels smooth and pretty tacky, but wears out after half an hour of training. Wilson Pro stays my overgrip of choice.
From:Anon. 10/08

Comments: If you're looking for an overgrip that truly doesn't change in any way the grip size and you don't sweat too much, this is a perfect overgrip.
From:Marco, Venice, Italy. 8/08

Comments: Awesome overgrip. They are thin and they don't change the grip size. Great feel. I like it better than the Wilson one, though the durability is an issue.
From:Peter, Korea. 8/08

Comments: This grip is thin, cheap, and not tacky at all. There is a reason they sell it in 12 packs; because they know that you won't want to buy it again. HORRIBLE.
From:Connor, Houston, TX, USA. 8/08

Comments: This grip is awesome. My only complaint is that it rips way too easily.
From:Nick, CA. 7/08

Comments: This grip is "powdery" and grips like you have chalk on your hands. My hands aren't that sweaty but after hitting for about 2-3 days, the grip actually becomes really slick to the point where I have to dry it on my shirt and blow on it before I can serve. I really loved this grip because it didn't add to the grip size but I've already run through 30 of them in like a month and a half. Also, I don't death grip my racquets and at times this grip causes my grip to shift upon impact, making my shots less effective. I have a callous on my thumb and this shreds up the overgrip easily, more so than Wilson's. Overall, I think I will be going back to Wilson Pros.
From:James, LA, Cali, USA. 7/08

Comments: I like this grip; however, it feels thinner and less tacky than Yonex or Wilson, also seems little shorter as well. Durability is ok, but unlike Yonex or Wilson, you can not just turn it over and reuse it for second time.
From:M.Darius, Bethesda, Md, USA. 5/08

Comments: Hands down the best over grip out there out of the box. It's Very thin and comfortable. Ideal for drier conditions. They're not good if you sweat a lot because these are thin and will wet fast. Each grip lasts me a few weeks; I have an extremely rare tennis grip; I use the same grip for regular forehand and backhand groundstrokes.
From:NL, Blacksburg, VA, USA. 3/08

Comments: This overgrip is fantastic. I use grip size 4 1/4, and this overgrip doesn't increase the grip size. Feels great over Head Hydrosorb replacement grip. Hydrosorb adds a slightly spongy feel which makes the VS overgrip feel even better. Quite absorbent for such a thin overgrip, and durability is also good for its thinness. Recommend this overgrip to keep grip size same, and for non-slip, good feel performance. In my case, feel worth the money.
From:John, Adelaide, South Australia, 02/08

Comments: This is the best overgrip! I've tried a lot of overgrips like Tourna Grip and Wilson Pro overgrips, but this is by far the most durable comfortable overgrip I've ever tried. And the price is excellent. Try it and you'll be amazed.
From:Daniel, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. 12/07

Comments: I love the soft feeling, but the durability isn't there. I noticed tears and rips 2 games into the first set. I put it on 4 of my sticks, and all of them done the same thing. I read all the comments before I ordered a 12 pack in white. Maybe the color has something to do with it coming apart so fast.
From:Dennis, Burnsville, NC, USA. 10/07

Comments: This grip is great to play with for the first couple of sets you play with it, but after a few days wear the grip gradually slips out of alignment, which at times is frustrating! But apart from this flaw this is an excellent thin, slightly tacky overgrip.
From:Anon, 07/07

Comments: This is a good overgrip, but it has some flaws. I play high school tennis and I used this grip the whole year. Its got good tack and grip, but it doesn't last very long and it constantly slips out of alignment. After a set or two, the overlapping of the grip would come out and I would get bigger and bigger gaps where I could see the original grip of the racquet. Then I would have to undo the grip and rewind it back on. It also doesn't have the greatest last of all time either. I think a grip would last me about a singles match, a doubles match, and a few practices and that's about it.
From:Zack, Sacramento, CA, USA. 5/07

Comments: Love this grip. Got it with my Pure Drive plus purchase and wouldn't recommend any other. Does dirty up quickly but if you love and are good at tennis, you'd change it by that time anyways.
From:Vang, Conover, NC, USA. 12/06

Comments:Im a big fan of this overgrip. I like that it is thin and doesnt add too much to the grip size. Also, its tacky, but not too tacky. Its very comfortable and smooth. All in all, its pretty similar to the tournagrips except its a little smoother, maybe just a little less tacky, and thinner. I love it.
From:Dave, Baltimore, MD, 10/06

Comments: Great Overgrip! Good feel, but rips fairly easily and gets dirty pretty fast. Otherwise highly recommended.
From:JRH, Westchester, NY, USA. 9/06

Comments: This is the best grip- best traction, best moisture absorption, best feel and much more durable than Tournagrip, which I consider as its most close competition. On average it lasts 2-3 matches whereas the Tournagrip shreds in just one match.
From:TF, Palo Alto, CA 02/06

Comments: This is a very good overgrip. It absorbs all of my sweat therefore meaning you have great feel and generally play a better game. However, on he downside, it isn't very durable and isn't long enough for my Yonex racket.
From:Alan Dwight
London, England 1/28/06

Comments: Best overgrip? No question about it! My sweat level is high all season so this one does the trick. It lasts me for 2-3 matches compared to all others like Yonex, Wilson Pro, Tournagrip & Gamma Supreme which only last me only 1 match. Babolat Pro team comes close as well, but this one is the thinnest and great comfort to hands for hard hitting.
From:Kevin, San Carlos, CA, USA. 10/05

Comments: I have to agree with "Bob, San Francisco" that they last only 1 hour of play. They are not very lasting given the humid conditions (95%-100% humidity-tropics) here in Singapore. But I'm sure in a drier environment, things might differ, unless your palms sweat a whole lot. Otherwise, a good grip.
From: NeroSIngapore

Comments: I'm going to have to rewrite what I said about this grip before. It's an awesome grip, pretty durable and the feel is just amazing. The only problem I have with this grip is that it doesnt seem long enough to go around my 5/8 grip unless there is a longer version of this overgrip somewhere.
From: Doug, Canada. 03/05

Comments: This grip is absolutely amazing. I couldn't believe the unmatched feel I got when playing with it. Plus, it's extremely durable, yet thin, and comfortable to play with. It also absorbs sweat from your hands very well. The only downside is that it's a bit expensive. Other than that, this grip is virtually flawless. If you're looking for feel, this is the grip for you.
From: Sydney Liu, San Lorenzo, CA, USA. 02/05

Comments: Very good overgrip, very comfortable, but trust me it doesn't last longer than 1 week.
From: Boyd, Chiang Mai, Thailand. 02/05

Comments: look no further, these are the best grips on the market!!! they feel like the original grips from the 90's that were the best of all time. durability is good but the feel is the big attraction.
From: Isaac, Australia. 01/05

Comments: I really like this overgrip because its thin and absorbs really well.
From: Adam Gregersen, USA. 01/05

Comments: I love the soft feeling, but the durability isn't there. Either it was my blisters, or it was the grip, but I noticed tears and rips within an hour of use.
From: Doug, Canada. 12/04

Comments: I read all of the comments and ordered a pack of the black. One session of playing and the black outer layer was coming off. I've used other (thicker) grips for weeks without shredding like these.
From: Bob, San Francisco, CA, USA. 10/04

Comments: Thin, durable and tacky... what more can you want? I have used Yonex, Tournagrip, Wilson, and other, but I cannot find a better one than this. I have given in to Babolat VS... it's well worth it for ANY racquet, not just Babolats.
From: Jean-Paul Sanday, Boston, MA, USA. 08/04

Comments: Even though this grip is very thin, it is very comfortable to use. It gives you a better feel for your racquet and allows you to hit better shots. I have heard some people say that this grip is very durable, but within the first week it was beginning to tear. I don't know if it was just this grip, but it didn't last too long for me. But still, I think you should try it out.
From: Karthik, East Windsor, NJ, USA. 3/04

Comments: The best grip I've ever tried. It's thin but very durable, and doesn'tmake your hands sticky when you play for a while. My only complaint is thatthey've stopped making gray! (or at least I can't find it anymore).
From: Will, CT, USA. 3/04

Comments: It's the best grip ever. Yellow is the nicest color in the collection of the grips.
From: Thomas, Belgium, Lembeke. 1/04

Comments: It is very durable but it's not that tacky. Overall it is a very good overgrip.
From: S. Lee, Detroit, MI, USA 10/03

Comments: All I can say is well done Babolat for this product. You would not believe the added control you get from these overwraps. If you want more from your racquet go for these! Go for the white, just like the pros. I give them 10/10.
From: Rob, England. 9/03

Comments: There's a reason why this grip has been in production year in and out. It's a great grip. Very durable, wears well and has a great feel when you first put it on. I won't use any other.
From: Jason, LA, CA, USA. 3/03

Comments: I think this grip is one of the best of all time. It absorbs sweat, and provides a non-slip surface. Give it a try.
From: James, St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada 2/03

Comments: I've played with the Babolat VS Original overgrip. Even though it is thin, don't let it fool you. It's really durable, and absorbs quite a bit of sweat. It's really comfortable, and it is quite pricey. If you're shopping around, looking for an overgrip you can stick with, give Babolat's Original VS overgrip a shot.
