Overview

Updated with a new cosmetic, the C10 Pro has the kind of control and feel that never gets old. In addition to its impressive plow-through and surgical precision, this stick packs a thin 20mm beam and 64RA flex, giving it better ball feedback than you'll get from a stiffer, more modern player's racquet. At 12.3 ounces strung and boasting a higher swingweight than the previous generation, this stick plows-through the ball like a hot knife through butter. On groundies, the precision on full swings is undeniable, and it will give you the confidence to play aggressive tennis. Advanced players will find enough mass for absorbing and redirecting the pace of big hitters, and there is impressive power available to those who can swing this stick fast. There's also enough touch for hitting droppers or tricky angles. At net, this stick feels very solid when volleying against pace, and the touch is outstanding. Volkl incorporates its Twin Absorber Handle System and Soft Butt Cap to absorb unwanted shock and vibration, while still allowing exceptional ball feedback. All in all, this is an obvious choice for experienced players in search of control, feel and plow-through.

Great Racquet! What a great frame! Perfect for my aggressive baseliner style! I love the hefty strung weight (12.8oz after string, leather grip, and over grip). With the super head light balance, it just plows through the ball nicely. Definitely a great players frame! The only modification I made was to put on a leather grip. I have it strung with Volkl cyclone 16g at 30 lbs.

Superb frameThe review from Chris at TW is spot on. It has that elusive balance of spin with enough mass and stiffness to provide both power and touch. Strangely also moves faster through the air than racquets of similar heft and balance (maybe the aerodynamics of the head shape?). Never got this kind of kick on my serve from my RF97s. Not sure Babolat enthusiasts will like it. But if the heavier sticks from Head and Wilson have been your choice in the past, you should give Volkl a shot. Also, I have never had a Volkl racquet vary in the advertised weight by more than 2 grams when delivered and I own 10 Volkls. My Wilson's have varied by as much as 8 grams per frame. I am a 4.0 all-court player and my C-10 is strung at 57lbs with Cyclone 19.

Comments: I am going to compare this with two Yonex racquets that I play with: Yonex Vcore Pro 330 (2017) and Vcore Pro HD. Nearly in all categories, the C10 is sandwiched between Yonex's. That is the case for stiffness, 330 being the stiffest. However, in terms of sweet spot, it has the smallest one by a good margin. When it comes to control, it is closer to HD than 330. For power, this time Volkl is in the same league with 330, more than HD. However, there is a clear lack of power in the upper hoop. That makes it lowest ranked when it comes to serves. Considering the weight, it is quite agile, enhancing topspin (At par with 330). I prefer it over HD if slicing is in the question. Overall, this is the one that I will pick up if I am going to play a match. For practice or drills, I'd go with the HD.

Comments: I really like this frame everywhere on the court. I have 2 and they weigh in at 12.8 oz strung with overgrip and dampener, so a little heavier than I was expecting, but the frame is headlight and it just plows through the ball. One word to describe this frame would be "solid". Very comfortable, good spin, but you can flatten it out very easily. Great at the net and solid off the ground. So far very happy with this and have made the move to it as my main stick. I have it strung with 16G VS gut at 58lbs and it looks like a good set up for this frame.

Comments: I like this frame a lot as an arm saver complement to my RF 97. While I like this frame a lot I still find RF more accurate and enjoy the contact feel more although the Volkl has its own unique feel which is very enjoyable. It is roughly the same weight as RF97 and supposedly less HL but it seems to come around a lot faster. I'm still getting used to its stringbed -- even though the shape seems very comparable to the RF but I miss-hit more frequently especially on the backhand. I'm still experimenting with ideal string set up. Most recently have it strung with Volkl Psycho at 50-52 lbs and it works pretty well with great bite and precision. It is definitely more forgiving on the elbow. It does well against heavy hitters but not as well as my RF. It has superb feel and I like serving with it cause I can use my wrist a bit more for that extra whip vs. the RF which i can't work as easily. The aesthetics are great and i get a lot of compliments. There are only a few people who play with this racquet near me and I always get the nod of approval. Yes you are in the know now.

Comments: This is an amazing frame. I just got back into tennis after quitting in the mid 90's. Purchased several nice frames such as the Yonex VCORE Pro 97 HD; ProKennex Ki Q+ Tour Pro 325 and Redondo Type C; Wilson Ultra Tour and two different Pro Staff models; Babolat Pure Drive Tour, so I could test them over a long period. Found I liked 18x20 frames better than 16x19. However, with that said I settled on this 16x19 frame after about five months of testing. It feels natural and suits my game, serve and volley. While not quite as good on directional and depth control as 18x20 frames, the horizontal grip shape is preferable to me, and this is the only frame of those I bought that has that. Nevertheless, the flex, balance, and weight of this frame are right for me and for those reasons alone, I would have chosen this frame. Stable and solid.

Comments: An exceptional frame with more than enough power. Great serving racquet and tons of plow through. Very plush feel, solid sound. I also love the grip shape. Not my main racquet, however, I own three with none of them for sale.

Comments: Been there...done that!Echoing exactly the previous comments of the other gentlemen. I used the RF 97 Autograph Black Edition since the initial release in 2016. Love that racquet but after a few years I started developing tennis elbow even with gut hybrids at low-mid tensions (~52 pounds). Noticed that Tennis Warehouse listed the Volkl C10 Pro among the racquets similar to the RF 97 Autograph and was quite puzzled by the indications of similar static weight with higher flex and lighter swing-weight. Bought two racquets (2016 version) and liked the softer feeling but the same control and plow-through of the Wilson 97 RF. After only a couple of months my Tennis elbow disappeared (same strings and tension) and I am actually using full poly now (Volks Cyclone 18). Interested now in trying the new 2019 version and would love to have some expert review or comments from the from the TW team since the 2019 version is apparently slightly different. I am a 50+ 4.0 aggressive base-liner hitting shots in both top spin and slice.

Comments: This is easily the best racquet I've ever hit with. I've been having problems with tennis elbow lately and needed a stick that was arm-friendly, control-oriented, with great feel and plow through. Everything about this stick fits my game perfectly. The flex and feel of this frame are outstanding. The ball pocketing is great and provides excellent control over every shot. I particularly love this stick on volleys. It is so easy to hit deep penetrating volleys with ease. Serves were great and it is super easy to generate pace and spin. Groundstrokes were easy to hit deep and with pace as well. Returns were easy to control. As long as you keep the racquet in front of you, it will do all the work. I felt like the head light balance made this stick very maneuverable on all shots. I preferred this stick in stock form and didn't feel like it needed any lead tape or modifications to play great. I strung my stick with Volkl Cyclone 18 gauge at 56 pounds and felt like it had a great blend of power and control. I am a 4.5 all court player with a one-handed backhand. I highly recommend this stick to anyone looking for an arm-friendly racquet with great plow through that is perfect for an all court game.

Comments: I have used RF 97 Autograph Black Edition for three years, strung with gut and Luxilon hybrid at mid tension, it is a hefty, solid stick, and helped my game a lot by urging you to attack the ball on the rise with good mechanics. Three months ago, hurt my elbow while lifting my 70 pound e-bike. Since then RF 97 stiffness causing my elbow pain especially when serving. Searching for another substitute for Wilson RF 97 Autograph spec alike but a more arm-friendly racquet. Luckily I choose the Volkl C10 Pro, soft, plush and my tennis elbow alleviated when playing with C10 Pro. Strung my C10 Pro with Volkl Cyclone 17 at 50 pounds, and it is powerful yet controllable. It is eight grams lighter than RF 97, and more headlight allowing me to whip it with more racquet head speed on serve and baseline rally, more agile at net. I just purchased another 2019 C10 Pro. At least give it a try, and you will understand what I meant.
