Overview
Fans of oversized racquets should love this update to Babolat’s Pure Drive 107. At around 10.7 ounces strung, this racquet is suitable for rising beginners, but it should also appeal to the intermediate player who wants something light and powerful. This racquet also features a slightly extended length (27.2"), which supplies a little extra momentum for adding some pop to your shots. For the 2018 edition, Babolat adds a more head light balance, making this a faster, more explosive feeling racquet (think easier power and spin). This update features FSI Power Technology, which includes diamond shaped grommet holes and wider string spacing for a nice boost in power and spin. This model also gets a revised Cortex dampening system, which features a specialized rubber to soften the feel at impact. Like the 2015 version it replaces, the Pure Drive 107 combines a generous sweetspot with decent stability, making it feel a tad more arm-friendly than the average Pure Drive. From the baseline, a medium length stroke provides good depth, with big power available on full swings. The Pure Drive 107 also has an open 16x19 string pattern, which supplies the required bite for bringing the ball down sharply with spin. The forgiving headsize and speedy feel make this a very user-friendly racquet at net. Block volleys feel solid, and there is no struggle required to execute deep, piercing replies. Finally, the slightly extended length provides a subtle but noticeable boost in power on serves. All in all, the 2018 Pure Drive 107 is well-suited to beginner and intermediate players looking for a powerful and maneuverable racquet that does not skimp on comfort.

Comments: Love this stick. I'm 53, just got bumped up to 3.5, thanks for that USTA, playing 100% doubles. This is a beast to serve with. Playing my best tennis in a long time with the Pure Drive 107.

Comments: Follow up to my last review. Playing better than ever. Easy to play with, still no arm problems. I have three of these now. All with Super Grab overgrip and same dampener. They each weigh 11 ounces. Good quality control.

Comments: I haven't played with an oversized racquet since the Prince Pro 110. Long story short I'm 67 was looking around for a new racquet. Tried the Pure Drive 107 and fell in love. I'm playing my best tennis right now. Racquet weight is 11 ounces with a dampener and overgrip. The swingweight is 312. I think it's the lower swingweight that helps me. I can get the racquet around better. It's lighter but no pushover at 11 ounces. This racquet doesn't play like an oversized. My string setup is Babolat Origin 16 gauge in the mains at 55 pounds and RPM Blast in the crosses at 50 pounds. Plays great, no arm problems.

Comments: I'm changing from an Babolat Overdrive 105 to this stick, which is almost an ounce heavier. It's taking a bit to get used to, but when I'm playing well with it -- it's just a dream stick. I play both Singles and Doubles (am 61, and NTRP 3.5), so this is a great all-around racquet and I'm glad Babolat makes it. Using Technifibre X-One Biphase 17 at 55 lbs.

Comments: Love the new Pure Drive 107. Easy power but you need to control all the power. My old racquet was Head Radical 107 IG You Tek IG and I love that racquet but you cannot get them anymore. I'm 55 years 4.5 player and I was looking for some extra power in my next racquet. The extra power I get on my serve is a great help with winning a few easy points. I'm play more doubles than singles but I think this is a great all court racquet.
