This fast and spin-friendly weapon gets updated with a new frame geometry for 2023
For 2023 Yonex redesigns the VCORE 100 but keeps the raw speed and easy spin of the previous generation. Compared to the VCORE 95 and 98, this model is more powerful and forgiving, but it still delivers more than enough control for aggressive targeting. According to our TW playtesters, this update has better pocketing and improved feel, with higher launch angle for easier depth. For 2023 Yonex reengineers the frame's geometry. In addition to redesigning the shaft and making minor tweaks to the beam width, Yonex has widened the hitting area of the racquet's upper hoop, resulting in a more stable, powerful and spin-friendly hitting experience. Other new features include SIF Grommets, which deploys a silicone oil infusion to reduce the friction between the string and grommet. The upshot is greater string movement for increased snapback and more vicious ball rotation. Like the previous generation, this racquet benefits from 2G-NAMD FlexForce Graphite in the upper shaft and lower hoop, enabling the racquet to flex optimally through impact. Ultimately, with some impressive changes to the beam and feel, this update checks all the right boxes.

PerformanceLight racquet with control and gains power at lower tensions (48 pounds with ALU Power Rough) while still maintaining control. Power on serve can be generated with relaxed shoulders. Excellent racquet.
Very user-friendlyI bought these on a whim, as I had tennis elbow that seemed to get worse and worse with a Clash 98 V2 (I know that is uncommon). I find this racquet to be quite powerful and have a fairly muted feel. I am only one month into playing with it, and have tried a bunch of different string combos, but have settled on TF 4S in the mains and Gosen AK Pro CX for the crosses. This gives me enough durability, comfort, and I am learning to dial in the control. On groundstrokes, the racquet is really nice and stable, but if you don't finish your stroke, the ball will sail. It plays much better with a full fast stroke. I definitely get helped out by this racquet when I am on the run and have to stretch for a low or wide ball. I have surprised opponents with some of those shots, and have won points I normally wouldn't have. Volleys are very solid and I have had some low pick ups that I have never had because of the high stability and a bit more power than other racquets I have used. Serves are very powerful and it is easy to add a lot of spin. Returns are the area where I have struggled the most. I tend to swing too much when I think I have time, and I have been hitting the ball long much more frequently on forehand returns, which are normally one of my favorite shots. I hope I can reign that in without going to all poly. If I can, this will be a winner. I have let a number of other 4.5's try it, and they have all enjoyed it as much as I do, and for those coming from racquets like the Pure Aero, this is an easy adjustment.
Maneuverable but stiffI experimented with this racquet coming from the VCore Pro 97. At first, I really enjoyed the extra power, especially on defensive shots. It was easy to achieve greater ball depth (which I could see with my Swing Vision recordings). The racquet's bigger sweet spot and high maneuverability was especially helpful in doubles. Unfortunately, because of its higher stiffness and lack of mass to absorb shocks, I gradually developed tennis elbow after a month of playing with it. I had to return to my Vcore Pro 97. I learned my lesson. Too bad because I enjoyed this racquet. (On a separate note, I bought two and one of them came in three grams under spec).
Surpassed my expectationsAfter almost 15 years without playing tennis, I decided to start playing again. I wanted to buy a new racquet that could give me easy access to spin and help me adapt my strokes to modern game play. After testing a couple of racquets, the Vcore 100 was the one that felt the most comfortable to me in order to more easily retake tennis and adapt my game to a modern play style.
Fun offensive racquetBeen using the VCORE 100 now for a few months and have played some of my best tennis with this racquet.
I find it really easy to hit deep shots to set up short court angled shots. I really like hitting the angled shots and find that I can really dictate the play with this racquet. I also play a EZONE 98 and find that the VCORE has a higher launch angle, more spin, but lesser power than EZONE.
For me I did add 10g. of weight to 3 & 9 to help with stability and plow as this racquet wasn't great at net and I struggled when playing against big hitters. The added weight helped a lot and created a nice sweet spot.
On serve the spin is there but as a 3.5 player I struggle with my serve mechanics and if I don't have my mechanics I didn't find the racquet as forgiving as my EZONE.
All in all I love to play with this racquet. I have a lot of confidence and fell like I can dictate play.
Big spin & fun to serveFirst Vcore racquet. Loved the easy access to spin and found great depth on my ground strokes. Launches high and took me a little while to get used to the racquet coming from the Ezone line.
Biggest improvement for me was serving. Able to dial up more pace on my first serve and found more first serves going in.
Great RacquetThis racquet offers excellent power on serves, groundstrokes, and great touch on drop shots. Depending on your choice of strings, (I have Wilson champions choice) in my racquet. The racquet has good spin potential. Overall, this racquet would be a good choice for any type of player. My only negative one racquet had a swingweight of 335 the other one was 318.
Quality Control ?I took two weeks to demo this racquet. I loved the power, spin, and stability. So, I ordered two, Yonex has always been known for their QC, but not this time. Someone in Japan must have been hitting the saki. One racquet had a swingweight of 334, the other 318. Really, come on Yonex you are better than this!
Excellent RacquetI'm very much enjoying this frame and anticipate switching to it. It sits right on the crucial stiffness cusp, just stiff enough to bring nice power, just soft enough to be relatively arm friendly. (I found that true also with the Prince Twistpower X-Tour). Spin comes easily and I found it difficult to hit too long, balls diving and landing consistently in play, maneuverability is superb even with the few grams of weight I added at 12 o'clock. Serving was very enjoyable, good power and spin, good control. The Prince has similar qualities and the two frames play very similarly, but I felt there was more stability with the Yonex, and it will stay in my bag.
Fantastic RacquetSwitched from the latest Pure Aero to this VCore. Took me 2-3 weeks of getting used to it and now really starting to appreciate what this racquet can do. After adjusting to the launch angle and the ball pocketing, this racquet has power, control and the spin to shape forehands. I have a one handed backhand and this racquet seems to come around faster giving me more consistency on drives and slices. Responsive on serves. Mis-hits are very well dampened. Settled with Solinco Hyper G Soft 18g at 51 lbs. Added 4g of weight at the throat but still at 4pts HL. USTA 4.0 player.
Makes Everything Easier!I was wanting to demo the 2023 VCORE 98 & 2022 Ezone 98. With the demo program you get 3 racquets so I decided to try this VCORE 100 too. I had planned on liking one of the 98’s, but ended up loving the 2023 VCORE 100. It made everything easier when playing with it. Easy power & depth on shots. Very forgiving & incredible on serve. Amazing spin on forehand’s & knifing backhand slices. I ended up ordering a pair of 100’s. I haven’t hit with 100 inch frame in a long time, don’t be biased till you try.
Comfortable spin/power racquetThe last 2 to 3 years I've been going through various new racquet models known for power in search of the ideal one. First was the Pure Drive, the Ezone 100, and the Pure Aero. I was okay with the new Pure Aero but went ahead and splurged on a new VCore 100 to see if it was any better. Took some adjustment and a few days as the launch angle is different. But in my opinion, the VCore 100 has more control and touch probably because of the extra ball pocketing. Serves seem to get into the service box more consistently but maybe with a tad less power. I first used Hyper-G soft 18g at 52 lbs. I also added 4g of lead to the throat area. Then I tried Triax 17g at 58 lbs and that combo was both powerful and controllable. The comfort of the frame and the Triax strings made it pleasant to really swing out with. Miss hits were well absorbed. I'll probably stay with this combo as the comfort and power helps an older player like me. The strings may not be very durable for heavy spin players. I'd suggest senior players wanting this racquet explore using Triax with it. I'm a 65 year old long time 4.0 player.
Best racquet I've owned in 44 years!My previous best racquet was a Yonex 44 years ago, I should never have stayed gone this long! Just the right combination of power, spin and comfort for my sometimes problematic arm. I can't use poly but this VCore is getting good spin with Rexis Speed at 54. Very happy with this purchase. 67 year old 4.0.
Amazing - will be hard to beat this..I had no plans to buy a new stick till a friend brought the 2023 VCORE 100 to the court and I had a go. The immediate thing I noticed was the easy power and big sweet spot because of the shape. This racquet delivers power, amazing ball pocketing and if you rip the ball, it doesn't sail. My work-in-progress shot is the one handed backhand and this racquet makes it easier because of the power and spin. My shoulder is thanking me too -- hoping to add years of playing because of this.
It makes everything easier!I’m quite pleasantly surprised in the 2023 VCORE 100. I originally wanted to demo the VCORE 98 & Ezone 98, just added the VCORE 100 because I needed a 3rd racquet for demo program through TW. Started out hitting the 2 98 inch frames which is size I’m accustomed to hitting. Wasn’t really wowed by either so then I decided to try the VCORE 100 & I found a winner. It was much better than the 98 in all aspects in my opinion. I had so much more power & shape on my shots from both wings. I was able to hit all the angles, with shots dipping in effortlessly. It had surprisingly good control & decent touch on volleys too. Serves were amazing, incredible action on slice & kickers. I believe it was strung with Poly Tour Rev & 53lbs. Oh, slices we’re actually good to with it too. This racquet is fun to hit with, had me smiling the whole time I was hitting! Ordered 2 of them, definitely recommend this racquet!
Incredible Stick but String Tension Critical!I was previously a Pure Drive Team (285g) user looking to bump up to a 300g racket to get more stability and power after becoming a more consistent player. The natural progression would have been to get the regular 300g Pure Drive (or add lead to my current racket), but I saw this red beauty in the Australian Open and couldn't resist. It seems like a lot of up and comers are using Yonex so I figured I'd give it a try in hopes of enhancing my game a bit. I had TW string it with my typical hybrid setup -- Babolat Vs. Natural Gut in the Mains @59 and Luxilon BB in the crosses @55. My first couple sessions were a huge disappointment -- I had zero control. The ball was flying off the strings and it really lacked any kind of feel at the net or on backhand slices. I thought I had wasted $300! I went back to my old racket while I had my local stringer re-string the Yonex this time 61 lbs on the mains, 57 lbs on the crosses. This completely transformed the racket into an amazing deadly weapon on the court! I think the original TW string job was garbage, it had completely lost tension. With the proper tension this stick has amazing power, spin, control, and feel. It felt well connected to the string bed hitting precise deep topspin on the forehand. My backhand has a lot more penetration and spin. The ball really pops off this thing. At the net it is much more stable than my prior racket with a generous sweet spot. I'm just learning the backhand slice but this racket has made it almost effortless. I highly recommend this stick, just make sure you get it strung properly!
Great Racket!Just purchased the Yonex VCore 100 V7 and I couldn't be happier. I normally play with the Head Speed Pro, which is a control racket given it's 18x20 string pattern. Given that I hit fairly flat, the Speed Pro has been a great racquet. However, I was looking for a racquet that would provide some added spin for a bit more net clearance, along with some additional power. I just happened to stumble across the demos of new Vcore 98 and 100 at my local pro shop. For me, the 100 was the clear winner. We all know that the VCore 100 line has great spin and power, but the new version also has nice ball pocketing, great feel and is very maneuverable. This is the first racket that I've owned where it's helped to improve my all-around game.
This is NOT a red Ezone!Having just hit with the new VC98 V.7 a week prior, I must admit I came into this hitting session w the new 100 with a hint of apprehension. Given my daily driver is a VCP 97H alternating with the 97D, I was prepared to concede that i would need some extra time to settle in with its drop in weight and bump in power + launch. Well, I'm happy to report that, just like the new 98, I was pleasantly surprised! After the 1st ball, I felt confident hitting through the ball without needing to really dial it back. Like all VCores, they perform best when swung fast and with intention. The first thing I noticed was the improved feel on the ball. Though wider up top, the reduction in stiffness + improved flex at the throat and shaft, it provided a nice level of ball pocketing which was all but nonexistent with versions 4 & 5. Though this v.7 is much closer to its predecessor, the main drawback being that v.6 felt almost too dampened. This resulted in a disconnect with the ball. The minor changes adopted into the 7 really made a significant difference and for the better. The 6 felt like an over-correction. This v.7 brings it back a notch or two so you still get the plushness while improving the overall feel. Also of note, the demo was strung with Tecnifibre Biphase 17g @ 57 lbs. On paper that normally would translate to rocket launcher status. Au contraire! The combo felt great and still had a good balance of control, spin potential, and now an added level of comfort. Perhaps the new oil-filled grommets at 12 & 6 o'clock may very well have contributed to that. The sum of changes really came together well with this iteration. Yonex has really taken their blueprint and has now all but applied elements of that recipe to every line in their stable. Very good just got even better. Bravo
