Great control & spin for a player's racquetI have been a loyal ProKennex user for decades due to tennis elbow, all the way from the 5G days. Recently bought this racquet to replace my old Ki 315. Same weight and similar balance with a more open pattern and square beam. Once on court, I immediately felt the difference. More spin from the baseline, more accuracy on serves and volleys, and great touch on slice backhands and drop shots. The only issue is my backhand as I really need to work on turning my body fully to generate enough power for a good shot. Overall, a solid player's racquet, but you do need good form and fundamentals to take advantage of what it offers.
Excellent Arm Friendly Players Racquet!!I tested three different racquets in the ProKennex Line, and the ProKennex Ki Q+ Tour (315) racquet was the most comfortable arm friendly racquet I tested. The Low RA stiffness rating of 60 for the 315 model was ideal. This racquet played identical to the Wilson 98 Blade but much easier on the arm. Once I added my strings, overwrap grip, and vibration dampener the total weight was 339 grams. I didn’t need to add any lead tape, it performed just fine without it. The racquet is a solid performer with all swings, but especially on the one-handed backhand because of the plow-through it has. Forehand swings and backhand slices were also easy for this racquet and my serves were very accurate. This racquet can handle heavy balls with pace quite well and doesn’t get pushed around, and is very easy to maneuver. The low power in the racquet allows me to swing through the ball and maintain control, pick my spots on the court, and keep the ball inbounds. I think anyone who didn’t have an arm problem would also enjoy this racquet. The shape of the grip falls somewhere between a Wilson, and the old Head grip handles. It’s very important with any racquet to make sure you buy the correct grip size. The old way of measuring where you place an index finger between the fingers and palm holding the racquet isn’t necessarily the best way for the modern game in my opinion.
I was measured for a size 3 (4 3/8) but later realized that the handle was too large for my hand and was a contributing factor to my tennis elbow. I decided to try a size 1 (4 1/8), and it made a huge difference. My forearm muscles were more relaxed, and it eliminated the tension, which was causing the pain in my elbow, especially in my one-handed backhand.
I strung my ProKennex Ki Q+ Tour (315) racquet with Alpha Gut 2000 16 Gauge (1.33mm) in the mains at 52 pounds and the Volkl Cyclone Tour Red 18 gauge (1.20mm) in the crosses at 50 pounds. This string set up allows me to have control, comfort & power. I was able to practice on the hitting wall at the local park for a solid hour with no pain. I highly recommend this racquet to anyone suffering from tennis elbow, and this is coming from someone who had non-surgical treatment with plasma injections to repair the damage done to my tendons in my elbows from 24 years of military service and unrelated to tennis. I was very particular and cautious when experimenting with various tennis racquets and string combinations with the goal of playing tennis pain free.
Zero control, opposite of everything expectedFirst off, I use the ProKennex's Pro 5G, which I LOVE! I thought I would "upgrade" to a new model with the Q+. Specs are slightly different, but the same overall weight. And somehow, the Q+ feels heavier.
I have ZERO control with this racquet. No sweet spot, no spin, no flat shot, no power, no touch, no nothing. I've wasted money stringing it 3 different times at 3 different tensions (poly strings) between 52-56 lbs. It made no difference.
On many points, it literally looks like I've never played tennis in my life. I switch back to my old racquet, and it's like night and day. I really wish I could love this racquet, but I have to chalk this up as a big loss for me.
I wish others better luck with this racquet.

Comments: Just to put it out there, I am very very picky with racquets. I chose this because of the specs and the movement towards arm friendliness. It's stunning. The Kinetic technology takes a little getting used to, but I found it a lot of fun. So many have tried mine and moved to ProKennex because of it. It also helps that the cosmetic is stunning and my personal favorite color.

Comments: I'm really enjoying this racquet. Pros - easy on the arm, maneuverable, good control and good (maybe too much) power. Very minor con - quite open string spacing for a 16x19 dings the control a bit and boosts power. String tight to mitigate this and you should have no complaints. I'm neutral on the rectangular grip shape. It's easy to adjust to and gives instant feedback about your grip positioning (and makes Prince grips - which I love - feel like cylinders!). USTA 4.5.

Comments: I played with this racquet for the first time today with a gut in the mains at 52 pounds, and a poly in the crosses at 50 pounds. Bought it to try and find a racquet that will be kind to my golfer's elbow. Too early to say if it's going too help heal my elbow, but it swung easily and felt comfortable. Stroke-wise I was impressed on its "debut." In particular, I got great topspin on my groundstrokes, so I could swing big and the ball would dip in. I may have imagined it, but it was like the kinetic chambers gave extra flick to the shot. Good touch with drop shops. Serve felt pretty good. The rattle sound is not audible once you are playing. Great start.
