Custom X105 Tour Spec. Yes please!4.0 player here. I made the decision to go with the Twistpower X105 because of the larger headsize and lower RA than the Twistpower X100 Tour. My muscle memory in the 80's playing with the Prince Graphite 110 has forever made a mark on how I swing and a preference for OS racquets. I added six grams of lead tape in the head and six grams of tungsten in the handle to give it more mass and stability like the Tour version. I also went with the recommendation of the other reviewer of stringing it with Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable at 55 lbs. Thanks for the tip! This racquet is a serving monster, insane amount of spin and power, while being super arm friendly and comfortable. I recommend this racquet as a platform for customization for intermediate and advanced players. Love this racquet!

Advanced Players Need to Pull in the ReinsI’m a 64 year-old 4.5 player who still hits hard. I’ve been playing Prince since the 80’s. Already have the Twist X100 Tour when I thought I’d test drive this one too. The X100 Tour has an 875 power rating printed on the racquet. The X105 is marked at 1150 and therein lies the difference. With X105 strung with either Tour Bite, Poly Tour Pro or Hyper-G, I couldn’t keep the ball consistently on the court without cutting way back on my stroke. It flies! So I experimented with stringing with my most under-powered string, the square Weiss Cannon Ultra Cable and WOW! The Ultra Cable when strung into my other frames is an amazing control string which is hard to land deep in the court. However, the combination of the under-powered string with the powerful X105 was a marriage made in heaven. I am now getting incredible depth and more power! People are asking me if I’m hitting my forehands harder than before. I also put 10g of tungsten putty under the butt cap to make it feel closer to the X100 Tour. For some of my buddies who’ve tried my stick, after two hours their arms feel a little tired compared to their 290g sticks. But once you get used to the added weight, the frame is very arm-friendly and has great feedback on all shots. Only problem I see is for stronger hitters who don’t use a deader string. I’m also astonished how this isn’t mentioned by any of the TW play-testers in their reviews.

Prince Twist 105With specs very close to the racquet I've been using for over ten years, I decided to give it a try. It's light weight and is very maneuverable while delivering solid baseline ground strokes. After watching the TW reviews I still decided to try it knowing it was a standard 27 in. length. The reviews were spot on. All four mentioned and agreed the length should have been longer. I would like to have seen it at 27.5. This would allow for stronger serves as well as ground strokes. Overall it's still a nice racquet and should be a good spare. Hopefully the next model will have a longer length option or change.
