Love the shoe, bad stitchingI see others have mentioned this too — I have worn this shoe for multiple decades, but this particular model (and perhaps ones that are similarly designed) has the stitching come out from the outer toe which ruins the shoe. It has been a few months of wearing it a couple times a week as I have seen this happen. A shame, as I love these shoes otherwise.

Sure-footed comfort and supportWonderful support and comfort that makes for easy stops and turns on the tennis or pickleball court. They do run a little small and tight, so I would definitely go up a half size to avoid any length or width issues.

Very high quality/price ratioI like these shoes on a tennis court very much. It's extremely solid and stable. Sole wearing rate is among the best of all tennis shoes, including those bigger names. The only drawback is that the "break-in" period is a little longer than some big name models for me. This is different for different people, I believe. For me, the most comfortable ones are Asics Gel-Resolution.

Wonderful, comfortable shoes but run smallReally a great shoe with the overall fit with width/toebox, but a size small for me. I gave them to a friend who loves them. I went back and got a size bigger and fell in love.

Can't beat the price and performanceI play a great deal of 4.5 tennis and go through shoes regularly. The T22 has been my 'go-to' shoe for comfort and wear-ability. Tennis Warehouse has been amazing regarding standing behind the sole warranty guarantee. I was using New Balance and shifted to the Prince because of cost savings and performance.

The best tennis shoes of all timeI miss the mid-cut very much, but always am very satisfied by Prince shoes since the beginning of the 90's. I never found a pair of tennis shoes that satisfies me like Prince. T-22, Viper, Phantom, etc. The only problem I can find is the sizing that changes every couple of years. I normally wear 8.5, and with Prince in the 90's it was 8.0 but these days I need a 10.0!

20 years of T22sI've been wearing Prince T22s for two decades, and they continue to be my favorite shoes. Why? They're comfortable out of the box, they wear extremely well, and they look good. I really like the newer grey color--they look great with jeans as well as on the court (often when traveling, I simply can't take extra shoes and I wear my tennis shoes from the airplane to the court). Best of all, their cost is substantially less than many other brands. I realize shoes are a highly personal choice. All I can say is they work for me.

Prince T22Comfortable, stable and secure. I can occasionally feel the insole in the front of the shoe, as if the insole is 1/8" too short. The upper or ramp design captured dirt and makes the sneaker look older and more worn than it is. This sneaker would be a five if they could design it so that the upper did not capture dirt, and if the insole fit the shoe. Some people don't like the old or clunky look of the shoe, but the sneaker is perfect for just about everyone. It also fits true to size, unlike some other shoes that run wide. Probably the best overall performance shoe at this price point and it comes in multiple color options.

Prince T22This is an excellent court shoe! I have been buying this model for years, from my tennis days and now in my pickleball time. The comfort, support and stability are excellent! No worries about rolling my ankle or developing joint pain. Highly recommend! Only gave it a 4 star rating because I chose the grey color, which is not very attractive.

The Prince T22 tennis shoeThe T22 is outstanding in all areas: court traction, fit, weight-to-strength ratio, appearance, durablility, and comfort. As a 4.0 player I try to play three matches a week on various hard or clay courts. The T22 will last its guaranteed six months and a little more. I am currently wearing my nineteenth pair.

I Like These Tennis ShoesI like these tennis shoes. I've tried Asics Dedicate tennis shoes and the outsole [rubber on the bottom] wore out in just 2 months [Those shoes lasted the shortest amount of time playing tennis]. In the mid 1990's I used the Prince NFS Viper Mid-top shoes and liked those the best. I do wish these Prince T22 shoes came in all black and in a Mid-top version for extra ankle support. I bought two pairs of these shoes. They are very durable. A lot of shoes currently are made out of lighter weight material which makes the shoe much lighter in weight but gives the foot less protection; I was noticing my feet hurting wearing the lighter weight shoes; So I went back to the Prince tennis shoes because they are made the way tennis shoes use to be made with more durable materials. The rubber on the bottom of Prince shoes use to be Goodyear rubber; Not sure if it still is; The rubber [outsole] on the bottom seems to last longer than other shoe brands and I like that.

Great shoes for the price. This aren't the best shoes around, but the best shoes for the price in the market. I have wide feet and normally I have to wear 10 instead of my true size 9.5. However, this T22 has a slightly wide toe box which 9.5 fits me perfect. Very good support all the around and better than average cushion & outer sole. At $60, again, this is the best tennis shoes in the market.

Stable and durable but not very softUsed to wear these shoes when I played tennis years back and went for them now when i started to play pickleball. Shoes are very low to the ground and stable side to side. Outsole is probably one of the most durable around but squeaky on the court. Also these shoes are not very soft so some better absorbing insoles would be advised. One more thing, both shoes started to tear on the seams on outer sides, not sure if this is a general quality issue or simply more side to side movement in PB.

Tough shoesYah, I'm old and should look for new type shoes that make my feet work faster. But wait- these shoes wear like iron and keep my old feet from being punished by hard courts! It can't be denied, they are heavy. It's a trade-off for me so I don't suffer any foot injury from wearing lighter shoes. At my age, staying on the courts is dependent on comfortable, strong shoes that reduce the possibility of injury.

Narrower than they used to beSize 13 Played competitively in these for years until 2017. Never had to break them in, never caused me any foot pain. A lot Narrower Because of RedesignI have worn Prince tennis shoes since 2003. My last pair that just worn out were purchased before they released the newer narrower models. I have read the reviews about the new models being way shorter and narrower in the toe box and I never imagined there was that much of a change. There has been. First the Women's sizes only come in half sizes up to 9.5. I wear a 10 to 10.5 in Women's athletic shoes and wanted to go up a half a size to 10.5 in the Women's. Not available. Only a size 11. So I ordered a mens 9.5. Imagine my surprise When the overall shoe was way to narrow and to tight in the toe box. Mens shoes are supposed to be a D Width. So I am returning and ordering a Mens 10. This will be a first! Now I am a Women's 9 to 9.5 and a mens 9 to 9.5 has always been more than adequate. My feet are not that wide, I just like some room in my shoes. Maybe Prince should offer the T22 in the Old Original Classic Style and see what happens. I Would order 2 or 3 pair. I have worn K Swiss and Head and Prince is the Only Shoe I Now Wear! Prince may want to consider Widening the Shoe some. You have a Loyal Following! Prince Lovers are Prince Lovers!

Prince T22 - Tried, True, and they PerformThe Price T22 Tennis Shoes are a design that have been around for a while. I current own three pairs, and have owned a total of 5 pairs. The reason the design has been around so long is because they are GREAT Tennis Shoes!!! The shoe description on the site is accurate... "The TPU forefoot straps lock the foot in place ensuring excellent support and forefoot stability. The injected wYshbone TPU shank helps keep the foot stable during lateral movement." Although some may consider the shoe heavy, the trade-off is that the shoe has FANTASTIC Heel Stability to facilitate side-to-side movement, has EXCELLENT Traction, and is VERY Durable. Likewise, the shoe has a wider toebox that some other Tennis Shoes, which can help to prevent "Tennis Toe," when your toes become bruised from pushing into the end of the shoe form explosive starts, stops, and split steps... I would second other reviews... "Fantastic Price, (I got mine for $59.99), great support, well cushioned and long lasting makes this shoe a real good choice!" You can't go wrong buying these shoes!

A stable, supportive shoeI have been wearing Prince T22 shoes for many years and find them quite stable. I worry less about an ankle sprain with these shoes than others I have worn. Compared to the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express I find the T22 a little shorter, the same width, and giving more support. For the negatives, the T22 is a heavy shoe. Also, a number of years ago Prince switched to manufacturing the T22 in China and narrowed the shoe width by one-quarter inch. While wearing this narrower version I always had pain just below the little toe. Thanks to advice from a forum commenter, I now cut out the hard plastic piece three-fourths inch long and one-half inch high on the little toe side, just behind the end of the leather-looking piece going over the toe area. This makes the shoe feel wider and much more comfortable.

Stable not as heavy as you thinkHad read a lot of good things about these Prince sneakers and one guy at the club swears by them. Always played with lightest shoe possible in the past. Injured my ankle for umpteenth time, figured it could be good to try these. They're great. They are heavier yes, but do not feel like "boots" or anything once you start moving in them. So far they've been very durable as promised and super solid. Haven't tweaked my ankle in them yet, so I guess the stability is good. Would recommend for anybody especially at this price. The fit is very true to size.

Well madeBought these for my son who is a high school tennis player. Usually wears Nike. He said these are probably the best shoes he has owned yet. He did develop blisters on pinky toes after a clay tournament hence the four star rating but I would argue it’s because he doesn’t lace up his shoes properly - kids‍. He is hard on his shoes. These are holding up really well. They’re sturdy but perhaps a bit heavier as a result.

I love the stability but...I love the support of these shoes. I usually wear a size 10 women's but went to an 11. The plastic strap hit me below my right pinky toe causing my first ever bunion. Shoe stretchers didn't help. I read the reviews which commiserated but there were no solutions until I read Scott from 7/14 who suggested cutting off the plastic straps. Bingo! Although I will now be able to use these, I will not order them again. Wilson Rush Pro will be my next shoe.

Solid tennis shoeBeautiful shoe; love the warranty, and brand. I normally wear 10.5 Babolat Propulse Fury, and I also have a Head shoe, both fit well. This shoe pinched my left side base pinky bone. The solution for me, with this shoe was to use a $1.29 foot callus pad from Walmart, secured with some KT tape. I play tennis daily.

Home sweet homeI had several T22 years ago. Love it. Then fell into all the other marketing temptations on several other shoes. Finally came back to T22 and I am on my 3rd pair now. Not going to change. I play tennis or pickleball everyday. No need to mention how good T22 is. Just want to share my personal experience. Quite a few people told me they love the navy color too. Tennis-Warehouse service is very personal and excellent!

Great ShoeI have worn the T22 for years, and have always found them to be a good shoe. It seems that the newer versions run a little shorter than the older ones so I have had to increase my size by a half size. The service from Tennis Warehouse has always been very good.

a stapleThis is a good shoe at the right price. It is a staple among my customers. I have had no complaints and they have re-ordered multiple times. I wear them myself and find that they are comfortable for me and last very well. I have used Head shoes, Nike shoes and Wilson shoes, New Balance shoes in the past and felt that they were all very good...but no better - so just not worth the cost difference.

Very Hard ShoeI bought these shoes because they were highly recommended for flat feet and pronated players. It is not good. It gave a lot of pain in my heel, knees, and plantar flat bottom area of my feet. I would say, it has good durability or built like a tank, very heavy, the foot and consequently the rest of the leg and body has to take all the pounding and running load. I am 5-11 and 190 lbs, 4.0 player. I am now using the Asics Gel Resolution 8 and no issues.

Too flexible, can cause problemsI have worn T22's for many years because they were well made and fit me well. However, the ones you are buying now are not the same! The soles are much more flexible, which can lead to problems with plantar fasciitis. This was pointed out to me by my podiatrist, who examined my newest pair off T22's. When I compared them to an older pair, there was a huge difference in the flexibility of the soles. Do not buy these expecting them to be the same as they have been for years.

Still a Good Shoe In My OpinionLong a T22 wearer, I hadn't purchased any since Prince was bought/disbanded...whatever. After reading some bad reviews about the T22s I first ordered the cheaper ($65?) ASICS shoe to save some money. About as much support as a bedroom slipper. So returned them and gambled on the T22s. Very happy w/them. Would buy again. Good customer service too.

Purchase .5 size largerNo doubt the T22 is now a more narrow and tighter fitting shoe. I purchased a pair 1/2 size larger, i.e. size 12 instead of my usual 11.5. The size increase affords more comfort.

Not the same shoe anymore - disappointed.I have played with Prince T22's for more than 10 years. However the last pair I bought in 2022 is terrible. The shoes are narrow and hard. After 2 months of hoping that they would soften and wear in I have decided to buy another brand.

Great aggressive playing shoe but...Over the years in and out of aggressive tennis playing I have owned about 5 pairs of T-22 and 1 pair of T-22.5. 1. Narrow fit 2. Snug heel (great for plantar fasciitis) 3. Never seen uppers wear out. 4. Soles are soft for a great grip. 5. Feel locked in, fast, and quick, but heavier- typically only notice after the game. Suggest removing after game, keep check on soles as they wear fast, can be hot, and keep up with wear of insoles. For the price/quality, can't be beat! Use them for play only and replace as the sole wears-6 months hard playing. I always come back(-remember plantar fasciitis, knees hurting, sore feet, are signs of worn out shoes) don't get cheap and try to squeeze extra life out of these shoes!

Something ChangedI've been buying these shoes for several years now but my most recent order was somewhat of a disappointment. For some reason the ones I got were much too tight. I've never had this issue before. So I'm going to order them again but a half size larger. Hopefully that will work because I've always liked the T22.

Great shoes but note that sizing runs smallI have owned two pairs of T22s and like them very much. They offer good support, are comfortable from the the get go, are reasonably priced, are reasonably durable, and clearly are built specifically for tennis. However, finding a pair that fits correctly can be a challenge. I normally am a size 10. I recently tried on a pair sized 10.5 (same size as my worn out pair) and was swimming in them, so exchanged for a size 10, and my toes were pinched. So going to try another pair of size 10.5 and hope the sizing works as expected this time.

Tough, durable, well-designed shoe. The T22 has become my favorite court shoe. I seem to have to always break in my own wide feet (hah!) before any tennis shoe is comfortable, and these are no exception, but once broken in they feel great and are long lasting. I would give 5-star rating except, as others have noted, the heel padding tends to wear out before the rest of the shoe. Fix with moleskin. Also make sure to keep the laces loose enough on top to avoid any pain on the top of your feet.

Love this shoeThis is the only shoe I wear; probably have had close to 10 pairs. They are on the heavy side but the padding and ankle support are worth it. I'm afraid they will discontinue it and I ordered 2 pair. The only negative is the heel padding wears out before the rest of the shoe; usually around 9 months for me.

T22I've owned 2 pairs of this shoe, the white and black and the black and yellow for over 8 months. They both fit perfectly. They weight a little more than most shoes but that is negligible. I'm an all-court player and have no problem getting around the court. The shoe is sturdy and stable in my opinion.

Horrible feet painI've played with these shoes for 8 hours thinking they would break in and stop hurting but no. Aches on the top of my feet, the plastic pice on the side digs into the top of your foot, they do last a while but they hurt really bad.

Be carefulI have worn Prince T22 tennis shoes for years and gone through many pairs. However the last pair after one year of moderate use has failed. The entire sole of the shoe separated while playing pickleball and rolled my foot over. The sole was only held on by the tip of the toe and the top of the back on the heel, otherwise the entire sole was just hanging. No injury, I was lucky.

Comments: Great shoe! Quick stop/starts can be made with full confidence. Some of the other reviews are correct in characterizing this shoe as clunky, boot or clog-like. It's a beefy shoe, so it doesn't sport a sleek feel; however, it will give you full confidence in the various on-court moves that go with playing aggressive all-court tennis. It has a 6 month outsole guarantee! Great value for the money, no doubt. Tennis Warehouse knows how to stock great choices for the demanding player. It's why I won't buy my tennis stuff anyplace else. (and no, I don't work for or with TW in any capacity)
From: John, Highlands Ranch, Colorado 9/15/21

Comments: The T22 is awesome looking. I swapped out the white laces for the navy. The laces are high quality. My feet felt supported and locked in the heel area. The shoes are heavy, but did not hamper movement. Making aggressive movements on court were sublime. I felt confident in my movements on court. The price is also right and continues to have a 6 month durability guarentee. Nice shoe, Prince!

Comments: Huge shoes. Looked and felt like hiking boots. I've no doubt they'll wear well and last a long time, but at almost 16oz each, they're among the heaviest. I tried them on and walked around a short while, but quickly realized they're way too heavy for me. To their credit, they seem extremely well made and are sharp looking. Just too substantial.

Comments: I have purchased two pairs of these shoes for Pickleball, 4.0 level player, over the past year on the recommendation of a friend. I wanted to like these shoes since my friend loves them, but I find them very stiff and they take quite awhile to break-in for me. I have noticed other reviews have had no problem with break-in, maybe it is just my wide feet. Besides the stiffness of the shoes and overall lack of comfort, the soles do not last very long at all. My current pair have worn through the soles in exactly two months. I play four to five times per week, but have not experienced this kind of wear with other shoes. To Tennis Warehouse's credit, they are handling a warranty return on my current shoes and I will receive another pair for free but, of course, I will have to go through the painful break-in period again and they will only last another two months. I think I will be moving to another brand of shoes in the near future for comfort and durability. I do want to give appreciation to the TW customer service department. They were great to work with and handled things very professionally and quickly. I will certainly remain a customer of TW.

Comments: I found a pair of T22 shoes at a second hand store a few years back. They were very worn on the outside, but they were incredibly comfortable! I didn't even know they were tennis shoes until later down the road, and they worked extremely well for on the court until the bottom of the shoes started to separate. I found these T22 shoes here and decided to try them because I couldn't find T22 shoes anywhere. Unfortunately, after ordering the same size as the T22 shoes, I found out the T22 shoes were too large. Tennis Warehouse was generous in offering a discount to get a different size, but I didn't feel comfortable assessing them without using them on the court and couldn't return them after doing so. Half a size down was the right size, but these shoes are nowhere near as comfortable as the T22 shoes. It feels like they have stiffer soles that my feet stay more on top of, as opposed to breaking in and cradling my feet. I've played in them pretty frequently and they continue to hurt my big and small toes. I hate to have wasted so much money on shoes that won't work out for me, but I'm past the point of saying these shoes need to break in. I have a wide foot and they fit well, but they rub too much, and I've worn socks with varying thickness to see if anything makes a difference. They don't and I need to shop once more for tennis shoes.

Comments: I wrote to Prince. I used to use the Mid that they sold. The first T22 tore immediately, a week or so, in the toe area. I play on hartru courts so I slide. I replaced it. The shoes lasted for just under a year, but the shoes still in the same place eventually wearing out. The third has a hole in the same place. The problem I have is that the shoes are very light relative to their other mid top. I have been using kids for years. It played like the tretorn leather did. It is unfortunate that shoe is not made wider or there is a stronger bonding on that part of the shoes.
From: N, 8/10/20

Comments: After the T8s, T10s and T14s were gone, I tried lots of other shoes. All the other shoes required an immediate changing out of the inserts. Few were as comfortable and many hurt my feet. I finally came back to the T22s and I'm home again. Solid feel, stability, and true comfort to go along with the great durability. For the serious player that is on the court a lot.
From: Al, 1/10/19

Comments: Follow up to my earlier review, there is still a pretty decent amount of sole left on these after a year, but a big chunk of it came off on my left shoe inexplicably my last match. I didn't notice it while playing, but then I got home and took them off and there is a 1.5 inch diameter chunk that just came right off and now it's down to the cushion. Never seen anything like that before. The shoes lasted a year being worn one to two times per week, I wear them for doubles something lighter for singles. Overall would still recommend for the price. Just be aware, they are the heaviest tennis shoes I've ever owned by quite a bit.

I've ordered all manner of things from numerous websites and never had the service of TW. Order processing times are unreal good, exchanges are incredibly easy, prices are great and shipping times and cost are just plain great. Comments: I've been wearing the T22 for around 8 years now. My last purchase was my usual size 9 and they are way too small, much narrower than in the past. I've worn them several time hoping they would break in, but no luck. Need to now look for a new brand. I'm really disappointed since I really loved the shoe
From: Tom, 11/4/19

Comments: My T22 shoes webbing is falling apart. The tennis shoes are 5 monthsold. This is the first time this has happened. I am on my eighth pair. Size 10, black.
From: Robert, 9/21/19

Comments: If you purchased this shoe several years ago, be aware this new version fits tighter. I had a size 10 from about 3 years ago and the new size 10 is tighter and also falls a bit short. I exchanged my 10 for a size 10 1/2 but the fit turned out to be too tight for me as well. I'll order a size 11 for my next pair.
From: Mike, 8/13/19

Comments: Not as good a fit as the Scream, these are stiffer and heavier. I don't mind the weight after wearing a lighter Fila shoe, which was harder on the knees. I didn't string through the forefoot straps for a better fit.
From: Allen, 6/23/19

Comments: I've worn these shoes for several years. The selling point is comfort, everything else is average for a top shelf shoe. I could train for hours and my feet felt good afterwards, versus Nike Cages which my feet hated. There was basically no break in time and my heel stays locked in throughout the life of the shoe. Durability was fine, I used to play and train competitively several days a week and I'd go through 2-3 pairs a year. They aren't clunky, but they certainly aren't a speed shoe and also don't look cool. They are secure enough for my needs, but they aren't bomb proof stable like some shoes, such as Barricades. I miss the old short lived MV4's which seemed to have the perfect blend of comfort and stability. Honestly, I may start keeping a pair of these for training, drills, and practice and buy another light and stable match day shoe. These are just so cushioned I'm not sure I can switch it up.
From: Andrew, 4/10/19

Comments: These are a bit heavy but that's the price you pay for this level of cushioning, support, and durability. At the price they are asking for this level of shoe vs others asking for $100+, I think they are an excellent choice.
From: Dominick, 11/2/18

Comments: I purchased the T22 in the same size (12) as a previous T22 Mid, which fit great. The new ones are a full 1/4" narrower and too tight. I measure a 11 1/2 but get the 12 so the shoes might fit in the width. These however are still too narrow for me and yet the heel slips from being a tad too long. Need to return.
From: Mike, 4/21/18

Comments: The T22 is one of the few tennis shoes that will allow me to remove the inner sole and replace it with my own custom insole. The shoe is deep enough to accommodate a thicker insole so my feet do not sit up so high that my heel lifts while moving. They are solid shoes with a custom insole for about 150 hours on court and off court training (no casual use) before I replace them.
From: Steve, 1/26/18

Comments: I normally wear a size 10.5 but with the Prince T22 I comfortably fit into a size 11.5 so be very careful when ordering this shoe if you have not tried it on. Lots of padding and the shoe ranks very high in comfort. Great for player with wide feet. Not the lightest shoe on the market but given all the padding I did not expect the shoe to be featherweight. Quality control is excellent with the shoes I purchased so no issue there. Excellent durability but ultimately it is the superior comfort of this shoe which is its main selling point. Well worth the price. This is clearly a superior tennis shoe that I highly recommend for an avid tennis player.
From: Reid, 12/22/17

Comments: Comfortable, stop on a dime, supportive -- especially in the arch and a reasonable price. On my third pair.
From: Stephen, 8/10/17

Comments: Loyal Prince customer. These are semi comfortable shoes but make my heels hurt after playing. I had to put heel inserts in with some improvement. Never had this issue with the T14s or the many pairs of T9s I had. Boy i miss my T9s! I might have to try another brand.
From: Ron, 8/4/17

Comments: If you have a wide foot or flat fee this is an excellent shoes for you. Very comfortable and stable with strong cushioning right out of the box. The only shoe I wear. I play three or four times a week I get about two months out of this shoe (I'm a 4.5 former college player).
From: Jimmy, 7/18/17

Comments: My second pair of these T22s and I have to agree with the dang plastic-related comments. Very hard. Bruised my little toe on one foot and the base knuckle of the big toe on the other foot. I've had to remove the plastic claws by picking the stitches and then cutting everything but the bottom 1-inch. Might have to try another shoe. Oh, the the Lite version? Forget it if you are looking for a wide shoe; the Lite will pinch like heck. Why, in this age of $200+ racquets has a good tennis shoe become so hard to find?
From: Ani, 3/15/17

Comments: I have purchased two pairs in different sizes. These shoes have a reputation for being a bit wider than average and for having decent toe room. I have found neither to be the case in the shoes I've tried. The ones I bought are the blue/black/white version on sale. The plastic reinforcement on the outside of the shoe just below the small toe in particular is very uncomfortable. I suppose this is why the shoe is on sale. This could be a terrific shoe without the plastic bit and if it were actually slightly wide as previous review suggest. This shoe could very well work for someone with a narrow foot.
From: S, 3/6/17

Comments: I've been thinking about this review for a couple of days. I'll try to keep it short. I've worn Prince shoes for approximately 20 years -- from the squared toe box models forward. They've all been a joy to wear in matches and in casual use. Durable, good looking and a good value each was a great purchase. Until I bought two pairs of these shoes! In short, these are the worst shoes I've ever owned. I've been nearly crippled in the process. I have extensive bruising to the left side of my left foot just below my little toe. Purple and swollen I can hardly walk barefoot. Both feet are sore after a short practice or after a day's easy walk around town. I even trimmed those horrible plastic straps (torture devices) and that didn't help. I can't believe that virtually the entire line up of Prince Shoes use this same plastic strap system. I have a new pair of shoes still in the box that I suspect I can return. I've always enjoyed the wide and comfortable toe box of the Prince shoe and their broad and comfortable soles, now I have to find another brand and model. I would appreciate any suggestions so I can find an acceptable substitute.
From: Eric, 1/17
Note from TW: Hi Eric -- sorry to hear about the issues you are having with the T22, have you tried the T22 Lite? They don't have the plastic piece you are referring to, but I can understand if you are looking to try another brand. We would also suggest taking a look at the Babolat SFX2 and the KSwiss Hypercourt Express. Feel free to give us a call for further assistance! TW Staff

Comments: I'm a 4.5 player. This is one of the most uncomfortable tennis shoe I have ever worn! I play approximately 3 times a week. After 2 months they have still not broken in and the plastic sides burn into your foot. I will never order them again.
From: Gary, 1/17

Comments: Great shoe, poor durability. The toe box cover failed after 3-4 months.
From: Fred, 12/16

Comments: I purchased these in May of 2015 and I play on average once maybe twice a week. In June of 2016 the shoes started splitting right around the little toe area on each foot. They are comfortable and fit well but I was disappointed in the durability.
From: Tommy, 8/16

Comments: There are two reasons which have kept me returning to the Prince T22s -- 1) they are well suited for someone with wide feet and 2) they have an incredibly durable outsole to hold up to the rigors of frequent hard court play. However, I do find the most recent version I just received inferior to the version I had 3 years ago. It doesn't feel as wide in the toebox as before, and the comfort level is diminished because it seems as some arch support has been removed, which is disappointing for someone with flat feet. (I think I will use an orthotic insert to avoid issues.) I hope I don't experience the issues described by others in recent reviews after a few months of ownership. Until, I come across a wide shoe that provides similar durability, and a similar price point, I am inclined to stay with Prince T22s.
From: Anonymous, 7/16

Comments: A warning -- I have bought a number of style variations over the last two years and the manufacturers and origin countries may differ. Which means, yes, the fit may vary -- ouch! Gave mine to a friend.
From: Tomas, 7/16

Comments: I purchased mine back in May of 2015. The stiching is coming out of them and I play one night a week on clay. They are out of warranty now!
From: Tommy, 6/16

Comments: I can't recommend these shoes if you have a wide foot. The plastic support straps began cutting into the outside of my foot after the shoes were about a month old. What happened was the inside lining of the shoe begins to wear and becomes just a very thin piece of material separating your foot from the plastic straps. I even wear two pairs of sock and it still didn't help. Blisters began to develop on both feet where the straps come down across on the outside. This does not seem to bother those with narrower feet. My hitting partner wears them to and loves them and reports no blistering.
From: Larry, 5/16

Comments: I have used these shoes for a couple of years and they are good comfortable shoes that last a long time, usually. The problem seems to be quality control. I ordered two pairs at the same time. One worked fine the other caused my little toe to bleed because of the rub from the plastic support. This rub happened with another pair of T22's. So I am not buying these anymore.
From: Glenn, 4/16

Comments: I had high hopes for this shoe after a decade with adidas shoes. The shoes are very comfortable, but my flat feet never got the requisite support and overall stability. I now use these for walking and jogging on a track (no side-to side movement). I'm back to the adidas Barricade 8+ but I can't find any in my size for replacements!
From: Michael, 2/16

Comments: I really like these shoes, however, I am getting 'side-jamming' instead of 'toe jamming.' When I move/hop sideways and suddenly stop, the base of my pinky toe (both left/right) jams against the 'plastic claw.' Unfortunately, I only found out about this on my 3rd day of use and can no longer return them due to 'wear.'
From: Charles, 1/16

Comments: Regarding Prince T22 tennis shoes: I had been extremely pleased about my experience with T22s and have converted other players to try them out with success. I have worn out more than a dozen pair Prince T22s in size 9 and they have all fit extremely well, until the last pair of T22s. They were a size 9 were toe jammers -- there was too much padding in back of the ankle and down toward the heel, thus pushing the foot forward into the toe of the shoe. Also, comparing them to an older pair it could be observed that the toe box appeared a bit tighter (less webbing fabric from lacing to toe). Being in a hurry to get to the tennis court, I did not notice this at first and they just felt snug in the toe. Thinking perhaps it might be my imagination, thicker socks or swollen feet. Once play began I realized what a mistake this was and I ended up losing my left toe nail and the right one was also bruised. I called TW with my complaint, asking if Prince had done something to the sizing and if I needed to consider a larger size in, etc. and was told to send them in. I did and they were returned to me indicating too much time had passed and yes I did wear them out on the court. I understand their decision on this, but I did explain on the phone before sending them in that I had them for some time and I had worn them on the court. When the shoes had been returned I still did not have an answer regarding possible sizing changes. Frustrated by this experience I was about to give up on Prince tennis shoes completely. After some time passed, I began researching new tennis shoes and with some help from TW I decided to try both sizes; (9.0 and 9.5). Happily the 9.0 size is as my old Prince T22 shoes were and were previously made in China, but now in Cambodia. The one pair must have been a bad batch of shoes improperly made or sized. It is my hope that Prince has this sorted out. Once I find a shoe that fits I like to stick with it.

Comments: Good shoe. Far better than the Nike Vapors in my opinion. Better cushioning and comfort. Far better looking as well.
From: Bleu, 10/15

Comments: Runs a half size small but plenty wide for those of us with wide feet. I'm very finicky about my shoes so once I find a model that fits, I generally buy a half dozen pairs. Bought these in an emergency and while they won't replace my favorites because they're too heavy I will use them for training.
From: Rich, 10/15

Comments: Nothing but disappointment comes to mind when the Prince T22 mens tennis shoe is mentioned in conversation. My foot is nothing out of the ordinary and I have never had an issue with Asics, Head, etc. shoes in the past but since trying the T22 I would prefer gumboots over these any day. Nothing about the shoe is positive -- it is a very wide shoe and uncomfortable in all areas of the foot. Rubbing and poor support are a few more problems I have had even with multiple sizes tried. Please pick carefully when purchasing shoes -- I am sticking to Asics!

Comments: The old model was great, the new one not so much. I had been searching for a shoe that fits my foot for over 8 months. Then I ran across a tennis store in LA that happened to have the old production Prince T22. Note: the new stock T22s are manufactured from a different company than the old stock -- I don't know the exact date of the switch. So finally I was able to play comfortably in a shoe that had a high top (which I still don't like) but it didn't pressure my toes and allowed for easy wearing of double socks to protect my big toe from smashing into the end. I'm not happy how heavy these things are, but comfort trumps weight, something I learned from my long distance cycling days. Everything has worked like clockwork. The shoes lasted me 5 months, and I lost the original receipt so I can't 6 month warranty them. I found a place locally that sells the T22s and needed some quickly, threw them on and to my surprise, the new shoes are nowhere near the same fit. They are tight and not comfortable to wear at all. Be weary if re- buying these. Buyer beware if you liked the old stock shoes. Tennis Warehouse has been crucial in helping me find a replacement shoe that has a similar toe box geometry. I'm still trying new shoes, but their recommendations for shoes that matches the old stock T22 toe box are: Babolat SFX All Court, Yonex Power Cushion Durable II, Nike Zoom Cage 2, adidas Barricade V Classic, and the New Balance MC 806 W. I'm trying each in order of weight from lowest to highest with the Zoom Cage 2s arriving soon.

Comments: I've had several pairs of T22s in size 11 and bought these at a great price in size 11.5 because that's all they had. For some reason, they don't feel too big but just right with only 1 pair of socks. Just barely roomier to me than the other green/black version in 11 for some reason, which I bought and they are a "snug" good fit. But like most shoes on hard courts, they always seem to wear faster than I think they should. In reality, they wear as good as the Nikes and Babolats I've worn. A little on the bulkier/heavier side to me. But they are extremely comfortable and adsorb shock excellent -- which I need with 2 bulging disks! I'd buy them again but I'm not sure if I'd lean toward a size 11 or 11.5?

Comments: A big thank you to the guys below who took the time to write in on how they solved the plastic band problem; I did the same thing to mine and problem solved! Turns out, it was the band closer to the toes on the outside of the foot that is problematic, the other three bands don't cause me any discomfort.
From: Michel, 7/15

Comments: If you are planning on purchasing this shoe, I would advise you that unless you like to wear thicker socks (or two socks), order a half size smaller than what you already where. If you wear 10, and a 9.5 is no problem, I would recommend that you order the latter because it is quite wide. The shoes themselves are good to play with. They are comfortable, but after 2 weeks of intense tennis and matches (I play on the high school team), they tend to get a little slippery. Also, this shoe was pretty easy to wear out.
From: Peter, 7/15

Comments: I wore these shoes when they first came out in 2007 or so. They were great in that they were wider, gave good support and priced $20 less than the Barricade. I have bought 4-5 pairs since then but the current shoe is DEFINITELY NOT the same as the originals. It's much tighter in the toe box and while the original side straps gave support, they didn't put your foot in a straight jacket they way the current versions do. The current forefoot straps dig in and do not give at all. It's not just the straps but the overall width of the forefoot. I noticed all my original pairs were made in China and these in Cambodia. They should have left a good thing alone. I'm a 4.5 level player.

Comments: Very disappointed! I've been wearing the the T22 for several years. I bought a new pair in the fall of 2014 and now jabbing to switch to a different shoe. I'm not sure what Prince changed but my foot kept sliding forward in the shoe and jamming my toe into the end of the shoe. The shoe never felt broken in. I'm sure the new materials used in the shoe were cheaper which means more profit for Prince. I am now wearing adidas Barricade Team 4 and love them.
From: Barry, 1/15

Comments: I just switched from Babolat SFX to Prince T22. I really enjoyed the SFX, but my podiatrist said I should try another shoe that was more stable and good for a low arch foot. I bought the Prince T22 and they felt good at the store. But, I've been wearing them for about 4 hours now to try and break them in and my foot is killing me. I think it's the silver strap that's pressing against my foot just below the pinkie toe that's causing the pain. I'm not sure if I should try to loosen the strings or cut off the strap like I've seen on previous posts, or just return the shoes?
From: Nick, 1/15

Comments: This pair is worse than the T14. The toe sides of both the left and right shoe has a hole or cut like damage after 5 months. The T14 wore out the same parts, but the whole palm is a piece, so the T14 wore out at the same time without cut or hole. Whereas, the T22 seems like there are two layers on the palm. The out lay wore out and leaves a cut or hole between the inner layer.

Comments: I've been wearing Prince NFS shoes for 20 years, and was very disappointed when they ran out of the Vipers, which was an excellent shoe if you had a wide forefoot. I agree with some of the other reviewers -- the plastic support will cause a blister if you have a wide foot. This may be a good shoe for a narrow foot, but would not recommend it for a wide forefoot. Prince needs to bring back the Viper for all the loyal customers!
From: Lance, 7/14

Comments: These shoes felt great in the store but the plastic straps on the outside of the shoe are killing me (the outer bone on the side of the foot). I removed the laces from the shoe, then I took a very sharp exacto knife and cut the stitching on the outside of the plastic strap (the strap on the outside of the shoe and closest to the front of the shoe only! The other strap is not an issue) and carefully separated it from the mesh. When I got close to the sole, I placed a credit card between the mesh and the plastic strap, and cut away the strap about 1/16 of an inch above the sole. (The credit card prevents you from cutting into the mesh.) That solved the problem completely. This will not hurt the shoe or void the warranty either. Love these shoes!
From: Scott, 7/14

Comments: They are comfortable. However, I burnt a hole in the toe in just two weeks! Unacceptable. If you play on hard courts and move at all, these shoes are not for you
From: Bob, 7/14

Comments: The T22s run a full size small theses days, in my opinion. The Warrior is closer to fitting true. I tried on a pair of the T22 in a size 13 and it felt like a 12.
From: Kerry, 6/14

Comments: The shoes are good for wide feet, but the latest production seems to be a bit loose in the heel. Also because the shoes are so wide, it's like running with elephant feet.
From: Clare, 5/14

Comments: I used these for a few years and did send them back at least once for a free replacement because they wore out before the 6 month guarantee time. I typically replacde them every 6 months or so, playing 2-3 times per week. They have very good grip and stability, but are a bit clunky. The plastic straps do dig in, so I typically laced them loose down low and tighter towards the top. This led to a bit of a loose fit though, and I found myself constantly re-tightening my shoes during matches. The toe box is plenty wide and there isn't much arch support, so I used my own orthotic inserts instead of the ones provided to help with this. I ended up switching to the Nike Vapor 9s for increased comfort. Overall, a solid, durable shoe.
From: Warren, 2/14

Comments: The T22 model is OK for wider feet like mine, and I think they are reasonably well padded compared to other brands on the market. They are a little 'soft' in construction, and don't support fast hard movement all that well -- but this is now a common problem in today's 'fashion' tennis shoes. I believe the plastic straps close to the toe box are poorly designed, since they have very sharp edges that you can feel through the surrounding mesh material. The two materials do not go well together when laced up tight, and feet are pushing sideways against them -- i.e. in typical tennis play. Did anyone in the design team actually try this properly? Thick socks help a bit, but really, thin sharp plastic and mesh! I am 185 lbs, 6'0" and still a fast- moving 52 year old, about 5.0, very experienced all-courter.
From: Anon, 1/14

Comments: The plastic strips on the sides will hurt your feet. I returned mine and until Prince decides to remove the plastic, I will buy other brands.
From: Anon, 1/14

Comments: $90 down the drain -- the plastic strips on the side of the shoes are killing my feet. These shoes look great and felt great in the store, but after playing in them for 2 weeks, I'm done. Going back to Nike.
From: Britt, 1/14

Comments: I've been trying to find a comfortable wide-toe shoe to replace the Prince Viper series. Unfortunately, the T22 feels stiff with almost no cushion for my already fragile feet. If anyone has a suggestion on what model to try, I'm all ears. To the Prince reps, please bring the Viper wide toe series back and I'll buy a dozen at a time.
From: Doug, 12/13

Comments: I am on my 4th pair of T22s in the last 2.5years. I love these shoes as they are very spacious for semi- wide feet with low arch. Prior to trying these out, I tried adidas Barricades and had shinsplints like crazy within 15mins of playing. These shoes last for a while, 7-8 months playing doubles 3 times a week. They might last less if playing singles the same amount. The shoes are clunky and heavy as others have commented. A nice pair of the cheap New Balance are good (tried them also) but these shoes just move with the right amount of grip. The New Balance shoes were too grippy and I had minor knee problems from them. These T22s just offer the right amount of grip when turning on the ball of your foot while swinging. I may look at another brand just to see what's out there, but I always keep a pair of T22s as a trusty backup.
From: Russ, 12/13

Comments: Despite some of the feedback, I took a chance and bought the T22. It worked out for me as it's a great shoe. A little clunky and beefy on the tread, but my game is not built around exceptional speed. No issues with the plastic straps near the toebox. I used the fitting guide to help me. My foot size is 11 1/3" width is 4.1" I did not subtract by 1/5" and went with a size 12.
From: John, 10/13

Comments: These shoes are in the top 5 that I have ever worn. The only problem is that I kind of 'pronate out' on my heels a little and after a few months of wear, they begin to 'lean out' on my heels. I have 5 pairs sitting in the garage that are in almost perfect condition except the 'pronated out' heel sections of the shoes. They are not worn out, but just a little wear on the heels, just for some construction reason they kinda crush-out after a few minutes of play (my average weekly play = 12+ hrs). Meaning, I cannot wear them because they will cause other joint-foot-knee problems if worn to long in that state. But, if you do not have that pronating-out heel problem, I highly suggest these shoes! Also, I cannot wear Nike type shoes with pointed tips -- these T22s are squarish tips which are very comfortable to me.
From: Jon, 10/13

Comments: So far, these are the best shoes out there. Great for not causing knee or achilles problems. The side of the foot is a problem (but only a small problem), I only had a little discomfort on the side of my right foot after 2 hours of play (played 2 sets), however, I have to say the other benefits and comforts out weigh this minor issue. In my case, other shoes I had worn over the years caused knee pain, shin pain, achilles tendon pain, bottom of feet pain and roll overs, but these shoes are very stable and comfortable.
From: Mike, 9/13

Comments: For those of you whose only complaint is the plastic strap that rubs on that outside, edge-of-foot bone, I carefully took a new razor, cut the stitching, and at the sole and about 1inch up, then pinched length-wise, and carefully took shallow cuts until through, and removed that small section. The shoe is a dream, and this will not unravel or affect the shoe in any way.. I sent the 6-month shoe back to Prince, told them what I did, but they were concerned only with the wear of the sole. This is one of the best shoes for cushion/foot/knee, etc., but that plastic strap can hurt like hell.
From: GoSurfBoy, 8/13

Comments: Excellent shoe that really helped cure my achilles tendonitis and other feet ailments. Thank you Prince and Tennis Warehouse!
From: Bob, 7/13

Comments: Be very careful with this shoe. Having worn Prince for 20+ year, it seems as if their manufacturing has changed. Recently having owned about 7 pair of T9 Roadsters I tried these. These are far from the forefoot that one is used to with Prince. The plastic on the sides that is locked into the lacing system pinch you foot terribly if you are used to a wider than normal Toe Box from Prince. If anyone knows of a good T9 replacement please post.
From: Chris, 7/13

Comments: My first pair of these were the best tennis shoes I have ever worn! They were always extremely comfortable and roomy around the toes. I recently re-ordered the same shoe and size but this time the fit was tight and uncomfortable around the toes. I've been playing in them for 2 months now trying different socks to help in any way. The discomfort tends to disappear temporarily while playing. My feet start hurting again after I stop playing and I can't wait to take them off! Unfortunately, they still feel terrible every time I put them on! What happened to the fit of this great shoe?
From: Phil, 7/13

Comments: Great shoe! It took about 2 weeks to break in and now they are cushiony and comfortable.
From: Bob, 6/13

Comments: Not comfortable for me with the worst part being the side plastic part of the shoe that pinches my foot.
From: Damian, 5/13

Comments: This is a terrific shoe! I have tried the Scream 3, T14, and T22 Mid; the Scream's lacing pattern did not have enough lace holes to feel secure on my feet, the T14 just didn't fit at all, and the T22 Mid hurt my feet. The T22 was my last try, and it worked! Extremely comfortable, great support, and a great look! Recommended.
From: John, 3/13

Comments: It is rather confounding that so many consider the T22 to be a cushioning shoes. Granted the uppers are super comfy with a roomy toebox and superb ventilation, but the cushioning is sorely lacking.
From: Anon, 3/13

Comments: Got wide feet? Look no further! Here is best possible shoe for you. Enough said.
From: Ricki, 1/13

Comments: This is a great shoe. I got my second pair recently. They changed the fit slightly. They're a little closer fitting at the ball of the foot. They're very well ventilated and have good traction and durability. And they are well built up lateraly so I can really load up on my forehand. My favorite feature is the heel cup. The shoe really wraps well around my narrow heel. I've had a bad fit in the heel with 2 pairs of Asics that I had. The T22 is a very well built shoe.
From: Kevin, 12/12

Comments: I found these shoes very comfortable. I've had mine for almost 2 years. I play sporadically, but when I play, I'm usually playing 6-7 hours over 2 days, so they show pretty good wear. The shoes have a good shelf life, and are very durable. I have flatter feet so I think these shoes are better for people with wider and flatter feet than those with narrower feet with high arches.
From: Gene, 12/12

Comments: My coach bought these for my team last season and I did not like them at all. They seemed to not have enough cushioning and they felt really clunky while moving around on the court.
From: Tristan, 11/12

Comments: I bought a pair of these in Navy Blue in the middle of September because I won a major discount coupon from a local reseller at a tennis workshop. This is a very comfortable pair of shoes. Good cushioning and good ankle support. However, it does not last very long. Mine is about 3 months from having a hole on the bottom of each shoe. Good thing it comes with a 6 month warranty program. I totally recommend this.
From: Brian, 11/12

Comments: Danger, danger Will Robinson! Do not buy this shoe! I loved the T22 Mid. But as usual, when Prince has a good thing they get rid of it. No wonder they are in bankruptcy. The T22 has no stability. I sprained my ankle three times in two days. Plus, the shoe laces come untied every two games. I threw them in trash. I'm a 4.5 competitive player and coach college tennis.
From: John, 9/12

Comments: These are pretty decent shoes. The sole lasts for a long time. I have had mine for a year and am just starting to have the tread on the bottom come off and I play 5 days a week for 2.5 hours. Only problem is that they dont have very good traction. They also hurt my feet!
From: Ben, 7/12

Comments: These T-22's were a big disappointment for me. I've worn Prince shoes for my last 5+ pairs of shoes and they've all been great for their longevity and for they way they fit my wide feet. I'm used to Scream 3's which are heavier and I was looking forward to the lighter weight of the T-22. The T-22 is the first Prince shoe I've worn that pinch my foot at the width and refuses to break in even after 6 months. Also the toe has worn through and I've discovered this 10 days after the six month outsole warranty has expired. Hopefully Prince will still honor the warranty & give me a new pair & hopefully a new pair will fit better. But this the first Prince shoe that I've been disappointed with.
From: Tom, 7/12

Comments: The problem with the T22 versus the T9 and T10 is the mesh used in the forefoot toe area that is too stretchy on the T22, causing it to feel very unstable. The T9 and T10 used more vinyl in the forefoot keeping the foot more stable.
From: Squirrel, 6/12

Comments: These are the worst shoes - ever. I have worn Prince shoes for many years and made the mistake of buying two pairs of the T22. I have a wide forefoot and the shoes pinched the front of my foot badly. I tried to re-lace them and bypass the plastic straps but that didn't help either. After a couple of hours on the court I hurt all over. I finally gave them away.
From: Mike, 5/12

Comments: Shoe feels comfortable, a good fit for my wide feet with little to no arch. Shoe feels good playing, although on a few extreme situations, I did not feel comfortable with the stability of the shoe - your heel sits a little higher than usual, and during major momentum shifts where other shoes slide for me. I almost felt like these were buckling on me. Scary feeling, and this was during one of my first few sessions with them.
From: Anon, 4/12

Comments: I have very flat feet due to extreme over pronation so I expected to have a difficult time finding tennis shoes that didn't cause me discomfort. I tried the Nike Lunar Vapor 8 and the Adidas Barricade first. Both were so horribly painful I couldn't even keep them on my feet for five minutes. I called Tennis Warehouse on the phone and explained my problem to them. They were extremely helpful and directed me toward a couple of options. For some reason, despite the fact that I think they are super ugly, I decided to try the Prince T22s. I am SOOOO glad that I did. Foot pain gone instantly. The comfort level was not quite 100% perfect but very close (say 90% perfect). And honestly, with feet as flat as mine 90% perfect comfort is about as good as I ever hope to experience. After wearing them a couple of times, I decided to try an aftermarket insert (SofSole Air), and that made them an absolute dream to play in. I'm now on my second pair and I can't imagine ever trying another shoe. They do feel a bit heavy on the feet at first, but the upside of that is that they are incredibly stable. I also thought the sole was amazingly durable. I am a recreational player and play three to four times a week on hard courts, averaging one to four hours each session. After six months, there were almost no signs of wear on the outsoles of my first pair. I got a new pair mainly due to the inside being worn to the point that I started to think "Yeah, I should probably replace these." But if I was thrifty or on a restrictive budget, I believe I could have gotten another three or four months worth of wear out of them.

Comments: I am a 6'2" 250 Lb. bodybuilder, who happens to play 2-3 x's per week, 2 hrs + per session. I am quick for my size, and move around the court well. I am a size 11 D, but I wear a size 12 in these shoes, maybe because I like wearing two pairs of heavy socks for extra padding. I like these shoes because I have wide toes( not foot). My toes don't pinch in these shoes. I've tried a few other brands and they all pinch my toes. I don't have foot or ankle problems, and I don't have flat feet. I can afford any shoes I want. Price is not a factor. I found these shoes work well for me, so I'm sticking with them. I don't see the point in spending more money on shoes - just to keep trying different brands.

Comments: My son plays Champ level USTA level tennis about 20-25 hours a week. I have just ordered his 7th pair of these shoes. We have tried a number of different shoes, New Balance and Adidas Barricade come to mind, but we always come back to the Prince T22. He has a rather wide, flat foot (not a lot of arch going on) and these have a roomier toebox than some. We have tried switching a few times, but I always hear complaining, so I've stopped. We keep two pair on hand, and rotate them, and he always wears these out late in month 4 or early in month 5 and Prince always honors the 6th month outsole warranty and provides us with a free pair. I don't look at the wear-through as a negative, I look at it as a positive: every other pair is free. For as much as he plays, I would not really expect the shoe to last longer, and I am pleased that they stand by their shoe and provide this guarantee. I see they have come out with T24's. I hope they don't discontinue the T22's. They are a great shoe.

Comments: So I was wearing through my Nike Court Ballistec 2.3's and I needed a new shoe. I have a very flat arch and it's usually hard to find a shoe that fits right. I'm a pretty big Nike fan, so I've been wearing the last few Cage and Court Ballistec series shoes as these tend to have a relatively flat arch. However, a few players I know recommended the Prince T22. I was a bit hesitant at first, but then I tried them on. Been playing in these for the last few weeks and I have to say I've been impressed. Very cushy and comfortable, I'm getting better support out of these than the 2.3's (for my foot type), and they seem to provide a bit more support and are very stable. Sure, they aren't as flashy or good looking as the Nike shoe (I love the look of the Court Ballistec 3.3's), but the great fit is what sold me on them.So if you have a wide-flat foot, need some cushion and support, I'd recommend giving these shoes a shot. I've been very impressed.
From: James, 11/11

Comments: I absolutely love this shoe! I switched from the Babolat Propulse 3's to these, and they were great. I got these shoes before my sectional match and they didn't take long to break-in. The shoe itself felt really well on my feet. There wasn't much of a difference on the weight side but I loved the durability. I recommend this shoe to any player.
From: Nathan, 10/11

Comments: I have always loved the fit of Prince NFS shoes on my feet and have had several pairs of the old Aerotype 1.2's and about 6 or 7 pairs of Vipers. I am pretty particular about what fits my foot, so I was a little apprehensive about switching away from what has worked. I grind on shoes really hard on the court. I do lots of sliding on hard courts and foot drag on the back foot often enough to tear through the tops on almost every shoe I have ever had. From the moment I first put on the T22's I liked them. The grip is excellent, I almost prefer less as sliding on a hard court in these shoes is a lot harder than it is wearing Vipers. However, they have great flexibility and have been pretty darn tough on top where I have obviously tried my best to wear through them with foot drag. They seem to be holding up quite well with support and cushion and they breath really well. These shoes get a big thumbs up from me. The step up from the Viper to these is worth it and I am certain I will buy several more pairs now that I know my feet love the shape of the shoe. I have notice a lot less wear and tear on my calf muscles and feet. I totally love them.
From: Mike, 9/11

Comments: These shoes are fantastic. I switched over from the Barricade II's because it seemed to me that the quality had started to drop off on the last couple of pairs I owned. I tried on about a dozen different shoes before deciding on these. I had to get them 1/2 size larger than most shoes. I didn't need any break in time, they seemed to play well from the moment I stepped on the court. The sole seems a bit wider than the Barricade II's, but I don't notice a difference in my movement. I play about 4 to 6 hours a week at a 3.5 level and the wear seems very reasonable.
From: Jason, 9/11

Comments: This is a great shoe. This is the first shoe that I have been able to wear all 8 months. Most of the competitor's shoes wore out at 3 months.
From: John, 8/11

Comments:I tried on lots of tennis shoes and these were by far the most comfortable ones. I found most adidas shoes to be too narrow for my feet, and many other brands to be too rigid. The T22's are very bouncy, and have a nice wide feel around the ball of the foot. Good support all the way around, I'm very happy with them.
From: Devin, 8/11

Comments: This is a really awesome shoe. After a long 4 years, I switched from Adidas Prevails to these and boy did they feel great. They're a little bit on the heavier side, but I think it works better for me. Good lateral movement support, good arch support and the toe box is a great fit for a size 10 guy.
From: MkR. 07/11

Comments: Like all other shoes, this T22 isn't for everyone. If you have a wide and flat foot like me, you have to try it. For me, it felt like it was designed for my foot as it fits right in and feels comfortable. No blisters, no tight spots. I have to say the look is a bit goofy as it's not my style but I go to the courts to enjoy my time and play well not to look great.
From: J. 6/11

Comments: Phenomenal shoe. Great comfort out of the box. Reasonable durability. Lasted me about 5 months but I play a lot. Very stable.

Comments: As a high school student I have a lot of energy to move around the court. My team got these shoes as team shoes last year. I already went through a pair in 5 months and 6 month warranty I got another. With the second pair I used them over the summer in half the time. This shoe is not worth buying. If you like to hit running forehands and move around the court a lot, this shoe is not recommended for you.

Comments: These shoes are just awful. They offer no support, grip, comfort, and look extremely goofy. I am never picky about how a shoe feels but I HATE this shoe. To all those who like it, try another shoe. After I got the Nike 2.3 ballistec and I threw this pair in my fireplace. I never thought I could get so angry at a shoe.
From: Jacob, FL, USA, 02/11

Comments: Since taking up tennis 2 years ago I've had to road-test, tennis specific, tennis shoes. After trying out many different brands, many of which hurt my feet I choose the Prince t-22, because it ended up being the best tennis shoe for me. I am a 3.5 rated player that plays about 10 to 12 hours a week, mainly doubles but some singles. These shoes to my experience wear very well in all areas, I would highly recommend them to all, especially to players that require a wider toe box.
From: Jim, Surprise, AZ, USA, 02/11

Comments: Overall a fantastic shoe, top-notch durability is a definite bonus. Shoe may weigh more compared to other shoes, but when worn it feels light due to compact design. Lateral shuffles are decent. The only downside would be the high break-in time. I play 8 hours a week mixing matches with drills and it took about 2 weeks to break these shoes in. Like previous comments I would recommend a 1/2 size up.

NTRP: 4.5-5.0

Comments: Shoes seem fairly heavy. Sole is wearing through after about 15 - 20 hours (I weigh 170 #) Recommend sizing up 1/2 size. I normally wear size 11, but the shoes are too short. Width is good.
From: D.O., TX, USA, 02/11

Comments: Love these shoes. When I first started using them over a year ago I saw a noticeable improvement in my game. I have lower arches so these were perfect. Stability is very good. Durability is extremely good, better than any shoe I've ever worn. Overall a great choice for me.
From: Jeff, USA, 02/11

Comments: These shoes are form fitting, very solid, a little chunky, quite firm - not cushy but not uncomfortable. Think heavy duty. At first I wondered if they would be too 'hard' but they fit perfectly (medium to wide foot, medium to high arch) with good arch support so I gave them a try. At first I loved them, they felt snug, very supportive, durable and pretty quick for how chunky they are. After about 2 months however, I developed a bruise on the side of my foot where the hard plastic lateral support straps are, which hasn't gone away a month or so later. So, maybe they were too hard for me after all, it's too bad because I loved them for 2 months and they still have a lot of life left in the soles but now I have a foot problem that won't seem to go away.
From: Bernard, Phoenix, AZ, USA, 11/10

Comments: This is a very good tennis shoe. I have tried adidas and Nike in several models. Bottom line, these are much better. They are soft enough to be kind to my ankle and knees, but hard enough to last quite a while with 6 hours of singles per week. They fit very comfortable, good traction, excellent breathability, good space for fingers and they wrap around the feet very well. So far, the best tennis shoes I have tried! Period! Now I have several models, my wife loves them and my kids prefer them to other brands
From: Adrian, Queretaro, Mexico, 10/10

Comments: I used to wear the Nike Breathe Free shoes - of course, were discontinued like many good products. I tried the Nike Court Ballistic 2.3 - felt clunky and heavy. They led to blisters on my big toes. Tried the Nike 2K10 - a little lighter than the Court Ballistics, but had similar blister issues. The soles of the latter shoe began to wear pretty quick. I tried the prince T22 based on TW reviews. They feel great. The shoe inserts are much thicker and more padded than the Nikes. Shoes were comfortable with 1st outing. Soles have not worn with about 6-8 hours of singles play. I have bought a second pair and am quite happy.
From: Ken, Coeur D Alene, ID, USA, 10/10

Comments: Excellent shoe. Barricades made my feet cramp and became too narrow for my feet. Asics Gel Resolutions were very good too; only downsides were slight slippage in the heel and the non-durable sole. The Prince T22s have been the best shoe I've bought for tennis, ever. I just stocked up on them.
From: CAM, Bethesda, MD, USA, 09/10

Comments: Prince T22 is a really nice tennis shoe. They are well made, great looking, and comfortable. I like that the outsole of the shoe has a rounded aspect to the forefoot area and a substantial toe-drag bumper. As everyone's feet and tastes are different, I am not going to say that this is the best tennis shoe ever. But, I did try just about every brand out there for fit, stability, comfort, and quality of manufacture. I have used New Balance, Adidas Barricade, and Fila tennis shoes in the past. I will say that after trying many shoes this time around, the Prince T22 rose to the top. They are the best shoe for me right now, and I have purchased another pair. When I find a tennis shoe that works for me, I stick with it and stockpile several pairs. I will take advantage of the 6-month outsole warranty as well. I use custom orthotics with the Prince T22 and that works well. The orthotics are easy to get in and out of the shoe. The shoe has really good stability and the tongue is well padded. There is nothing cheap, plastic or flimsy about this tennis shoe. Feels lighter than the specs would indicate. I highly recommend the Prince T22. Give it a try and compare to the other top tennis shoes. You may reach the same conclusion I have.
From: Anon, 09/10

Comments: This is a wonderful shoe. I previously wore the Adidas Barricade 2. The reason I switched to the T22 is that the toe box of the Barricade 2 wound up being too narrow for my feet. The right shoe rubbed and caused pain to the joint at the base of my right big toe. In looking for a shoe with a wider toe box, I tried on the T22 and New Balance CT 1004 and went with the T22. I'm glad I did. The T22 is incredible right out of the box, and it works great with my custom orthotics. In short, this is the best tennis shoe I've ever owned. I highly recommend the T22.
From: JRo, KC, MO. 8/10

Comments:I also was a Barricade user. No question the t22s are more comfortable and durable. Save some money and buy em. I bought 2 pairs.. black and white/black/scarlet
From: J, OR, USA, 08/10

Comments: Excellent shoe. Used Barricades before but this feels better. Cushioning, stability, and wear are excellent. Best tennis shoes that I have ever bought.
From: David, Bethesda, MD, USA, 08/10

Comments: Echoing Dan's comments, the T22 is the best shoe I've ever played in. I've had numerous foot problems throughout the years, and usually had very sore and blistered feet after playing long matches. These shoes minimize the damage more than any other shoe I've worn, which motivates me to practice more and play longer. The slightly wider-than-average sole provides excellent stability, including lateral support--much better than Nike, for example--but not too much restriction (which I find New Balance and Adidas brands suffer from). So if you want a shoe in between Nike and Adidas in terms of stability, support, and comfort, this is the one.
From: Ted, San Diego, CA. 6/10

Comments: This is by far the best tennis shoe I have ever played in. It is extremely comfortable. The shoe lasted about 2 months, which is very good for me. The adidas barricade lasts about a month and a half, most Nike shoes about 3 weeks. I strongly recommend this shoe to anybody who needs durability.
From: Dan, SC. 6/10

Comments: I bought these shoes based on the reviews I read at this site. I have to disagree with those that say these will fit those with wide feet. I have wide feet, but not so wide that they fit into double EE's (New Balance), which seem to be the only thing made for wide feet. I did order some "custom" made shoes (barricades) from myadidas.com which fit pretty well. However, I don't like the boat like feeling of barricades. Anyway, these Prince T22s do not fit wide feet and pinch considerably in the toe box. If you truly have wide feet you need to look elsewhere. I am still looking.
From: Rory, Richmond, VA, USA. 5/10

Comments: Great shoes that are very comfortable, provide decent arch support, and can be worn right out of the box. The only problem with them is I was able to put a hole in the bottom of the left shoe, due to a bad toe drag on my forehand, within 5 weeks.
From: chris, brookfield, ct, USA. 4/10

Comments: I have always been a big fan of Prince tennis shoes. I had a pair of OV-1s about a year and a half ago, but they were very narrow for my wide feet. After wearing them for about 6 months, I bought a pair of Nike Shox (not tennis shoes, obviously) for everyday wear. The Shox were very comfortable and I could wear them for most of the day without sore feet, which I could not say about the OV-1s. I recently ordered a pair of the T22s, which looked a bit wider than the OV-1's. I took them out of the box, put them on and WOW! This is by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever put on my foot. They are wide enough for my very wide feet and have lots of cushion right out of the box! Very impressed with this shoe!!
From: Jeff, Fort St. John, BC, Canada. 4/10

Comments: Since I had foot surgery 6 months ago I can no longer wear Nike shoes. A tennis pro suggested I try the prince T22. They are amazingly comfortable and can be worn right out of the box. If I had to continue wearing Nikes, I would sadly have to give up the game. I am baffled how so many pros wear Nike. Once you have a serious foot problem you then learn how important a quality, comfortable and supportive shoe is for your feet..
From: Tim, CA, USA. 4/10

Comments: I just picked up a pair of these after a long struggle with shoes. I played with Oscillates for ever and a day. When those went away I bounced around to all kinds of shoes. I tried various Nikes, New Balance, etc. I have always been a Nike guy, but my last pair of Vapors ripped my feat apart. I had to make a change. I got a very strong recommendation to try these and wow...I really would have never considered a pair of Prince shoes unless something like this happened. I have to be honest...wow. I was blown away the moment they went on my feet. They are more comfy than the New Balance 1004 (and that is a great shoe!) and fit snug like the Oscillates. They are amazing feeling. Don't think twice...get 'em.
From: Jeff, Cary, NC, USA. 03/10

Comments: I have used this shoe for about two months. I think I could have gone smaller by a half/size, they seemed a touch wider then I am use to, nothing to stop the show mind you, I just don't wear my thinner socks. No break in for these shoes at all, pillow feeling. I am having an issue with the sole on the heel of one shoe, as it looks to be ripping off the shoe. Not too concerned with this as it seems to have held up fine for a couple weeks like this without any more tearing. Overall a good shoe, fairly light, comfortable and breathable. Might not have the support some are looking for. I paid $69, I consider that a good deal for this shoe with the 6 month sole warranty, and would not hesitate to buy it again. I am a pretty aggressive running, athletic player 3.5-4 range.
From: Sean, FLA 12/09

Comments: Very comfortable and easy to break in. But I wore through these in about 2 months.
From: Zack, WA 11/09

Comments: I bought these shoes as I've always worn K-Swiss shoes, but wanted a black pair of shoes. I play a few times each week. These shoes are good for my wide feet. They are comfortable right out of the box and feel true to size as do the K-Swiss. They are lightweight and provide decent lateral support and traction. However, the sides and sole of these shoes are much more flexible in contrast to the K-Swiss Stabilors. While it not an issue for me, the bend point in the soles is more forward and seems to keep the bend so the toe area of the shoe appears to be curled up.
From: Mike, Phila, PA 10/09

Comments: What a fit! I have a medium-wide foot with a low arch and these shoes secure you nicely without being tight. I have worn Wilson exclusively for a decade or more but there is now very little selection of wide models in the Canadian market. There is also a bit of rocker in the the sole so this helps keep you on your toes. The only negative aspect is the outsole is quite firm/hard so there is a cushioning sacrifice.
From: Craig, Mississauga, ON, Canada 10/09

Comments: These are the very best tennis shoes I've ever owned. They fit perfectly the minute I tried them on. I have a medium wide foot with low arch. They feel great on the court with good traction without being too heavy. They also have great ventilation and give me plenty of support. I can play 3 hours in these with no pain in feet and they also have enough cushion for hard courts. This is a high performance shoe at a very reasonable price. I had gone from Barricades which were heavy and not very comfortable, the wear on them was ok but they slowed me down especially on clay. The plastic "claws" on the sides would dig into my feet and caused pain. I had a cheap pair of Wilson shoes after that but those were just crap, fell apart fast and caused all kinds of pain even though the soul was very soft. I'm happy to say I've found the best tennis shoe ever with the Prince T-22!!!
From: Lance, New York, NY, USA 09/09

Comments: I had worn Wilson for years and had not really thought of Prince prior. I have a wide foot and low arch and these are the best tennis shoes that I have ever worn and offer the best support, in terms of wide platform to avoid ankle roll, that I have ever felt.
From: Jamey, Pelham, NY, USA. 08/09

Comments: These shoes are the best tennis shoes I have ever worn. Since I have wide feet with high arches they are great, roomy and breath and I use my own arch supports and they fit comfortably! I really trust these shoes and have had nothing but a positive experience.
From: Tokie, Palm Springs, CA 08/09

Comments: Have played in the T22's for about 6 months and I am pretty impressed. Switched from Prince MV-4's because this shoe offered more cushioning for hard court play. The difference in cushioning is tremendous. Forefoot stability is really good and breatheability is nice. The shoes are pretty heavy but the trade off is a super durable sole and improved stability with the plastic inserts. I have mid-to-narrow feet and these shoes fit pretty snug...I guess they would fit most any foot type. Great for hard court baseliners who shred soles quickly, but might try something lighter for serve & volleying and playing on other surfaces.
From: Andrew, Knoxville, TN, USA 08/09

Comments: Thought I would leave a quick opinion on these shoes. Played about 12 sets and find these to be ultra comfortable. Great ventilation with no break in needed. The only down side is they don't have great stability. Takes a little bit of time to adapt and "trust" the shoe. Past shoes include Barricades, KSwiss Ultrascendor, New Balance 8 and CT series and a few others and these fit my slightly wide feet perfectly. Leave my feet feeling better after hitting or matches then any shoe to date. Hope this review helps.
From: Dana, MA, USA. 7/09

Comments: These were fantastic then they stretched, if you have narrower foot width not a good choice. However were very comfortable for the first 4 weeks. I may have worn them just a little too long. They really only last a couple of months at three days a week. I began slipping with the tread wear.
From: Andrew, MO, USA, 07/09

Comments: I felt a little pressure on my little toes first couple of times during use. Mainly while sliding on the clay, but other than that I love them. I even have a narrow foot but shoes fit well.
From: sam, brandon, fl, usa. 6/09

Comments: I normally love Prince shoes and have had many pairs, but these do not have the cushioning for someone with knees like mine. I have had knee pain every single time I wore these shoes, even with inserts. The old Prince Roadsters had much better cushioning.
From: John, Atlanta, GA, USA. 05/09

Comments: Amazing, I normally wear barricade 5s, but decided to buy these for an upcoming tournament after wearing out the barricades in 2 months. These are more comfortable and durable then barricades.
From: Bob, Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. 04/09

Comments: I have a wide foot, and over the past 3 years have used Barricade II's and IV's, New Balance EE's, ASICs, Yonex, and KSwiss. These T22's are by far the best combination of fit, durability, and support for me, with the KSwiss in second. Now I know why there is such a cult following for Prince shoes, particularly those with wide feet. It's rare to find a shoe that is both comfortable enough for everyday wear and provides the support needed for intense competition. I wanted to like the Resolution 2's, but they were too narrow. The Yonex SHT-306's were nice, but I had to go 1/2 size larger and the arch support was too low (which I remedied with insoles). I'm going to give one last try to Adidas since I ordered Barricade V's in Wide from miadidas.com, but if those don't work out it's good to know I've found my foundation shoe brand in Prince. As a note, the Prince MC's fit narrower than the T22's.
From: Herschel, Sacramento, CA, USA. 04/09

Comments: These shoes are incredibly comfortable, durable, and breathe well. I play in Miami where it gets hot and humid, and I really like the way these breathe. They require zero break-in and are ready to go out of the box. I have wider feet and these shoes are very comfortable. Zero hesitation to recommend them to anyone! A great shoe!
From: Anon. Miami, FL. USA. 04/09

Comments: I wear a lace-up brace on left ankle so shoe comfort is a big deal and lateral stability is a must. I've been wearing Prince Quicktrac's the last few years. However, I wanted something for clay with max ventilation and stability. First try was latest Adidas Feather series that was comfortable with good ventilation but low profile at ankle nixed shoe. I tried the Prince T22 and it is everything I was looking for in a shoe. Now I have to stay after the maintenance crew to get the nets up on the clay.
From: Lucian, Knoxville, Tennessee. USA. 3/09

Comments: The T-22 is an AWESOME shoe, I put it on right out of the box and played for an hour and a half. I've just ordered another pair in the other color, don't want to be without this shoe. I wore the Babolat Roddick shoe prior to this one and it's nowhere near as comfortable.
From: Bob, Jupiter, FL. 2/09

Comments: This is a great shoe, but not as comfortable as the T-10. They lightened them up with hopes of better ventilation and in doing so took protection away from the heel and the extra cushion that made the T10 the best shoe in tennis. A note to Prince...can you perfect perfection? The T10 is the shoe especially for older players who need protection from pavement. The T-22 with minimal cushion broke down in just 8 weeks. To save my achillies I'm going back to the amazing T10..BTW I miss the gray model in red and green...they rocked! Also, Ive been playing for 30 years, used every shoe out there, Prince has them all beat in comfort, durability, and style...keep it up!
From: Jake, Boise, Idaho. 2/09

Comments: Great shoes! I like that they are flat on the ground because with some shoes, especially Adidas Barricades, it feels like there is a large one or two inch heel on the back, and it makes the shoes feel rather clunky and awkward. No such problems with these, though. They can be pulled very tight because the eyelets are far apart, so they feel snug and wrap around my feet very well. They are broad in the front, which makes for a very stable, solid ride. Kudos to Prince, five stars for the T22.
From: Gary, CA, USA. 12/08

Comments: Fits my D/E width foot with a pretty high arch perfectly unlike Nike Breathe Cages/Free's, which I have worn last 2 years. Mesh upper breaths great. A very comfortable shoe right out of the box.
From: Gerry, Bradenton, FL, USA, 12/08

Comments: Great shoe, very good traction. I got a pair a half size too small on purpose so they wouldn't move, and they feel like they are part of my feet. I forget I'm wearing shoes. They are the tiniest bit higher off the ground than I would like but the cushioning is more than a fair trade. The one problem, and I've had this with previous Prince shoes, is the straps on the forefoot dig into my feet on occasion and become very uncomfortable. Very good shoes. Stylin' too ;)
From: James, Norwalk, IA, USA. 11/08

Comments: Awesome shoes, I am a big fan of Prince tennis shoes as my feet are sensitive and need comfort and support. I tend to get a bruise on the ball of my foot and then I am out of commission for tennis play. I need a good solid comfortable shoe and this T-22 is good for me and knew it the second I put it on, I need the confidence of a great show when I play and the little extra money is worth it all.
From: Michael, Cornelius, North Carolina, United States. 9/08

Comments: I agree with the comment above. They are phenomenal. They don't need to be broken in. It's as if I had them for ever. I have always been a big fan of Nike and Wilson but I have been disappointed lately. This shoe is the answer. Let me put it this way, when I went playing wearing them for the first time, not once I stopped to think about my shoes. I forgot I was wearing them for the first time. I forgot I was wearing them, period. It's that good a fit. I hope this helps. Ps: They are not that expensive either.
From: Mauricio, Little Rock, Arkansas, United States. 9/08

Comments: These shoes had great cushioning, but the strap in the forefoot dug into my foot and caused me great pain! A shame really for an otherwise great shoe.
From: Daniel, California, USA. 9/08

Comments: I've worn the Nike Breath Free 2 for two years. It's a great lightweight shoe, the only downside is when involved in a long tough match I could feel my feet and legs start to ache. You notice the lack of cushion and comfort especially when playing singles. I decided to try the Prince T22 because I remembered the great comfortable feel of the Prince T10's. I could immediately notice the improved comfort and support the T22 had over the Breath Free 2. I've played 2 long singles matches already and I'm very impressed with the stability and comfort. The real good news is they do not feel any heavier then the Breath Free 2, which was a bonus for me.
From: Joe, FL, USA, 09/08

Comments: They are awesome. I love them! Perfect colors and very comfortable. They do not even need to be broken in and they breathe very well. Best pair of tennis shoes I have had. I have played in Barricades and also Diadoras neither of which can compare to these shoes. I love them!!!
