Overview

Introducing Head Lynx Tour! As a co-polyester monofilament this string will give you the control to attack the ball with your most powerful strokes. Players looking for extra spin will appreciate the bite they get from this string's shaped (6-sided) profile. In addition to its spin-friendly precision, Lynx Tour has above average tension maintenance for a poly-based monofilament.

Playability lasts foreverThis is my favorite string for hybrids. Currently using Lynx Tour in the mains with Head Velocity MLT in the crosses. Stringing the crosses at the same tension or up to five pounds less (the lower the cross, the more spin one gets). To me, it's the perfect blend of control, spin, tension maintenance, and power for a 4.5 player. Relatively stiff but still lively enough with great feel; not a dead feeling string like RPM or Tour Bite. Additionally, it is much more resistant to notching than most polys. I also like 4G Soft as a main when mixed with Velocity, but 4G Soft notches relatively quickly in this setup, whereas Lynx Tour does not. 4G or 4G Soft maybe perform better than Lynx Tour as far as tension maintenance goes, as they both are "A+" whereas Lynx Tour is merely an "A" to me. Lynx Tour has better tension maintenance than Hyper-G, and stays playable much longer. Another great hybrid is Lynx Tour and Solinco Outlast, if you want less power and even more control. In terms of a full bed, I don't think that Lynx Tour is any better than it is as a hybrid with Outlast or Head Hawk. If you are just going for a stiff stringbed, a full bed of Lynx Tour is fine.

Control, Spin, and ComfortI have had a great time playing with this string from 48 lbs to 54 lbs in a Vcore 98, TF40 305, White Out 305, and Wilson Blade V8 305 for the past 3 years. It has way more comfort than Alu Power rough, RPM Blast, and Tour Bite. The tension maintenance is way better than Hyper G. Hyper G has a honey moon phase for the first 4 to 6 hours and gets really unpredictable afterwards. Lynx Tour plays very similar to Confidential. I have used Lynx Tour in both grey and champagne. Grey has more snap back and spin. Champagne is more muted and controlled for me. I have not tried the orange one.

Favorite Crispy StringChampagne Head Lynx Tour paired with the Radical MP's sound grommets makes a great sound. Others from the next court looked over when they heard me hitting. TW strung it on my Radical MP @ 52 lbs. The gold (champagne) is more crisp feeling than the grey and I like both. My guess is they can't call it champagne because it's not from France. In my experience, the gold took about an hour of hitting to break in and feel real nice. Balls didn't go long on me but still powerful. The grey took about 1/2 hr to settle and then was more powerful than the gold. Not sure if I would go for the gold or grey next time, maybe gold as it has a nice sound and feel when broken in. Plenty of spin from both. The grey might have provided more control, however, I did not compare side by side. One of my favorite strings out of 10+ I've tried.

High level control stringOriginally played with the Lynx Tour 16g but was just a little lower powered than I wanted. The bump to 17g provides the little extra power while keeping the massive control. Great string to keep the ball inside the lines and still be able to swing out for the big spin.

Pretty Good1st time I've tried it. I've heard Lynx won't last, but my 17 g is. It's pretty soft, comfortable, control, but seems to have some power and spin. So far so good. I like it.

Pretty GoodDurable; they feel great and softer than I thought for the elbow. I like the control. So far so good compared to the other Head strings.

Great all around polyThe best thing about this string is that it holds tension extremely well for a poly. It really bites into the ball like the best polys, as well, and it's not too stiff. It's not as soft as Hyper-G Soft or Luxilon Element, but it's soft enough considering the benefits you get.

Absolute Beast on Control Spin and FeelThis is a very high average of everything. No matter spin, snap and tension maintenance. I would say this is a top notch gem. If people really love to compare I would say this is not as lively as Hyper-G, but a bit muted. In my opinion what outplays Hyper-G is the tension maintenance and consistency of the feedback. Never felt off when needed to. If you want a bit more lively feel I would recommend you choose the orange color. I am using a Head Speed Pro 360+ with the champaign color. Depending on the court type, I go full 17 gauge @ 48 lbs, for more pop I went to 17 and 18 gauge hybrid @ 48 lbs. Great work HEAD!

Clean strike and spinHelps with spin and is durable. May lack some touch but that's known. Overall a good string for beginner to advanced players.

Favorite polyVery clean feeling string. Great control and spin with some power. Very comfortable for how stiff it is. Tension maintenance is also good. I've only tried the champagne color. String between 50-53 on Pro Tour 2.0 & TF40 305 original.

Pro StringIf you play high level tournaments (college, futures, challengers and beyond) and/or can afford to restring very often (like every single match + practice), this string is a dream come true. The amount of bite, spin, precision & control is virtually telepathic right out of the gate. That being said, its optimal performance will last the warm up + 1 set on average, but it's worth it if you need the absolute best and can have at least 2 strung per match. For the average rec player, there are most definitely better options out there as it might be too stiff and requires proper technique to get the most out of. This string is an absolute stroke of brilliance from Head for advanced players. Highly recommend.

Hyper G from HeadHead Lynx Tour in 1.25 mm/17 gauge is pretty much a replica of Hyper G in 16. Tennis Warehouse University string comparison confirms this and my hand and racquet confirm this. I have a HLT 17 in my Radical MP strung at 50 lbs. In the first hour, it felt a little stiff, but once it broke in, it was GREAT. Great control, decent comfort, good spin. No arm issues after an hour and a half of play. Overall, it does play like my other favorite (hyper g). I recommend it without reservation.

Correction from earlierThis string is very stiff. Strung at 52 and my elbow pain has aggravated like never before. Those, who have or ever had arm problems, stay away from this poly.

GreatNot sure about durability yet, but other than that the strings are perfect. My search is finally over.

Touch and PopThis is a perfect string for my Clash 98 V1. It gives me a lot of touch and added power for my all court game. It also makes my topspin lob an additional weapon.

Like these stringsI just changed racquets to the EZONE 100. I have used four different strings on my other racquets and was playing mostly with Hyper G Soft 17 as my go-to string. However I still was not comfortable with the performance of any of these strings with the Yonex. I did a little more research and found Head Lynx Tour. These strings have ended up being my string of choice. I started at my normal 47/45 lbs tension but ended up at 50/48 lbs and the strings came alive. Power, comfort, control and spin were excellent. With this racquet, Head Lynx Tour strings seem softer than Hyper G Soft. I can say they definitely have better control spin and power also. Ordering a reel and looking forward to the outdoor play and clay seasons.

Comments: My first Head poly and very pleasantly surprised. I used Lux ALU Power for years and then Solinco Hyper G. I feel those are the two reference polys and the best out there. Was looking for something with a little more liveliness/pop but still with some comfort. I'm getting older and ALU power is too stiff for me, still love Hyper G, but in my Diadem Elevate FS it just felt too under powered and muted. The Lynx Tour was strung up at 47lbs and had great feel, yet was surprisingly comfortable. Felt like a comfy ALU Power and had the extra zip off the strings I was looking for. Very controlled and consistent feel/results off the string bed. Great spin, but could flatten and hit with touch. It's like ALU Power and Hyper G had a baby. It plays softer while still having a crispness at contact that I like. We will see how it holds tension, but for right now it's a big thumbs up.

Comments: I have this string in a Yonex VCORE Pro 100. I find that it has a nice crisp feel without being harsh. Spin, control, and touch are all very good, and it hasn't changed properties after over 11 hours of hitting. I strung it at 48 lbs, and since I've only hit in cooler temps so far (45-55F), I don't know if this tension will work when it's warmer.

Comments: Agree with what Leon said below. First 30 minutes to an hour, stiff, and not much in the way of feel. But, after that, really nice string for control, the feel and touch improved immensely. Felt really nice in terms of touch, pocketing, and control. The edges do grip the ball and you can feel that, but spin is not hugely beyond other shaped strings or round strings because I'm a somewhat flat hitter. Really enjoyed this string and it's in my regular rotation. Strung at 52 and 50 pounds.

Comments: Feels stiff in the first 30 minutes of hitting; after that, it is heaven. Good control and I like the crisp feeling, not as muted as other polyester strings.

Comments: I usually use Tecnifibre Black Code 4S 17 gauge and Tecnifibre Multifeel in a hybrid. I compare this Lynx Tour to other control-oriented strings such as Solinco Tour Bite, Solinco Confidential, Volkl Cyclone, and RPM Blast in terms of feel I find that this was slightly softer than Solinco Confidential, but not as stiff as Solinco Hyper-G. I've been using it in my Yonex EZONE DR 98 for almost a week so I'm gonna keep on playing with the Lynx Tour for about another week then I'll cut it out after the second week. Overall an awesome string from Head!
From: Justin, 9/4/20

Comments: I usually use either RPM Blast or the Blast VS Gut hybrid. My racquet is the new Pure Strike Tour string at 54 pounds. My play level is a former national level junior, university player but took many years off the game and am just now getting into competitive tennis again. I found the Lynx Tour very stiff for the first few hours, so much so that I debating cutting them out. Much stiffer feeling than RPM Blast regular or rough. But after about two hours of total hitting the strings seemed to find that perfect equilibrium of power and control, I absolutely loved the string for about the next 15 hours of hitting. I rotated three frames for a few weeks and now all sets have gone loose and dead, so time to change them out. I have two frames being strung with Lynx Tour on the mains and Babolat Addiction on the crosses which I am looking forward to trying. Overall I will use up my sets of Lynx Tour and then decide if I will make it my go-to string. Worth a try, and I got great spin and control. I was really able to hit out off both sides. Not a lot of touch at the net compared to RPM Blast, but good punch on volleys.
