The Blade 93 updates the midsize BLX Blade Tour with a stylish black look and a more plush, comfortable response. This version keeps the surgical precision of its predecessor, but it comes with a more even feel off-center. Suffice it to say, Wilson packs a luxurious sweetspot into this 93 square inch head. The friendly feel is partly due to the Amplifeel technology which provides cleaner ball contact while filtering out more of the harsh vibrations. Like most player's racquets, this one is best suited to advanced players with long, fast strokes. However, given how easily it moves through contact, we think a larger cross-section of players will be able to create good pace and spin with it. For our playtesters, the stability and precision from the backcourt was doubly apparent at net. Volleys are very solid, with a great blend of stability and maneuverability. Advanced players will have no problem achieving depth or dropping the ball short. On serves, this racquet swings fast and delivers pinpoint accuracy, making this an extremely well-rounded mid. Wilson has created an outstanding update to the BLX Blade Tour. 4.5+ players searching for that magic blend of precision, stability and maneuverability should add this to their demo list.
