Yonex offers subtle updates to its RDS 001 racquet line for improved performance. Racquet specs remain the same so players will find the same control oriented response they loved in the previous version. Yonex have improved the feel of the RDS 001 Midplus by repositioning their soft grommet technology to just the 10 and 2 o'clock positions of the racquet face. We found a solid, yet comfortable feel from all areas of the court. The emphasis is definitely on control with this racquet. Power comes from the player's ability to utilize the racquet's mass. Our TW testers found some impressive comfort to coincide with the firm response. The resulting feel is solid with lots of feedback for pinpoint accuracy. From the baseline we found the same predictable response on topspin and slice shots that allows the player to hit with confidence. The firm response also allows flat hitters to play aggressively without sacrificing control as one must drive through the ball to hit with pace and depth with this racquet. An excellent choice for all court players looking for the highest level of control from a midplus player's racquet. Best suited to 4.0+ level players.
