Not goodHorrible gut. As one said previously it feels nothing like gut and very thick. Decent pop and not good to generate spin. Feel isn't there but feels like a cheap synthetic. This was used in a hybrid with mains.

Volkl V-icon 16Love it. Soft, yet powerful without loosing control. Lasted over a month of old school solid hitting for me.

Works Great For MeI use the Volk V-Icon 16 gauge in all my Head Speed racquets. Strung at 54 and 52 lbs, I get good action from the string. Except for one instance where the string snapped while stringing the racquet, I find the Volk V gut holds up very well. Am very happy with it.

Nice stringQuality gut and very easy to string.

Previous Feedback

Comments: This string plays like a stiff synthetic gut. It has none of the characteristics of natural gut. I guess one has to string it at lower tensions like one should with a synthetic. I strung it at 58 lbs like I do with Wilson and Babolat and it felt nothing like gut. The issue is probably the very thick coating. It's overkill really. Why would they use such thick and stiff coating.

Comments: Amazing string. Very good durability. Excellent touch. I'll just say it is a 10/10 string. I strung by hybrid in the mains at 54 pounds.

Comments: This is my first approach to natural gut and I might say that is awesome. I'm really impressed on the feel, power, and performance overall. This string is lively and you can feel how it wraps the ball and shoots it exactly where you aimed to. I can't compare as I mentioned before, but so far the best string I have ever tried, miles away of other high end multis.

Comments: I strung it in my Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 Original 85 St. Vincent Island version at 59lbs with 10% pre-stretch as full set. I like the easy control, power, and spin it was able to produce from a 85. It lasted pretty long considering I was playing about 3 hours a week with it of heavy hitting, it broke about 5 weeks. The yellow color gives a nice tribute to the ProStaff 85 Original. I will keep string this Volkl V-Icon Natural Gut in my ProStaff 85.

Comments: Very good, durable option for natural gut. I strung it on my RF97A at 60 lbs (constant pull with 15% pre-stretch) in the mains with Alu Power 16L in crosses at 56 lbs. Strings up like a multi, the synthetic coating is quite thick on this string so don't have to worry about damaging it. First day out felt a bit boardy, but as days went on it softened up some and gave way to the best feeling stringbed I've ever played with -- comfortable like a pillow with tons of spin, feedback and full control. It has been 11 hours of fairly hard rallying and it looks like the string has plenty of life left. For reference -- I popped the multi mains in 1.5 hours and poly in about 9 hours.

Comments: My stringer had a hard time to work on this string due to streching continuously. It started to fray after one hour of play. Its durability, feel, and comfort are worse than any cheap multi strings. I do not recommend it.

Comments: While I haven't tried this in a full set, I have used this in the crosses of the V-fuse hybrid. Tension maintenance was perfect, like a regular gut -- good power, exceptional spin, and surprisingly durable. I thought it would not be so durable given the cheaper price, but I was wrong. The yellow color looks great as well! I would say though this string is probably not as good as Wilson or Babolat gut, so V-fuse or V-blast might be the better alternative.
