Comments: I'm a 4.5 rated player with narrow feet and low-medium arches. I've tried several different insoles, and I loved the Superfeet Green, mostly because of its support and how it always left my feet pain free. The Flexmax's arch support is a little lower and softer than the Green's but still leaves my feet just as painless. The difference is I don't notice it as much, which is a good thing. It does not have the Green's stability plate, but it has a horseshoe shaped piece of plastic at the heel cup that runs up to the arch. The result is that you get the same level of support for the heel but the rest of the insole is more flexible. That's great for my Adidas Barricades, which are already super stiff in the mid foot anyway, because the insole doesn't interfere with the shoe's flex. The volume is slightly higher than the Green's because it's 5 mm thick while the Greens are 3.75 mm thick. That's good for me because I want a tighter fit. It weighs just slightly more than the Green at 1.87 oz vs 1.77 oz. Both insoles are light for aftermarket insoles, which is something I think too many people ignore. Cushioning is good but not spectacular. That's ok because I rely on my shoe's midsoles for cushion and insoles for support. I would call it responsive not mushy. This is my new favorite insole. It's particularly good for athletic shoes because it doesn't interfere with their flex and still gives you great support. If you need more arch support, the Green or Orange might work better for you, and if you want less volume you can try the Flex or Flexthin. I think Superfeet got it right with the new Flex series!
