Overview

Solinco Tour Bite is a firm and durable co-polyester that delivers an almost unbelievable combination of spin and precision to players with long, fast strokes. This explains its growing popularity at the collegiate level where control at high head speeds is a must. Our testers noticed immediately how well the square profile gripped the ball. The low power level allows big hitters to load up on head speed and attack the ball at an extreme angle. In the right hands this string produces a very heavy ball.

String Comparison: Solinco Hyper-G vs. Tour Bite

Comments: I'm very surprised by the TW review stating the stiff poly, and as a result, I held back using that string. Until now. In my opinion, it plays super plush, almost like a Wilson NXT on a Pure Aero, strung at 52 pounds. My son swears by that string for many years now, and he's right. Amazing ball pocketing, tension maintenance, and feel. If you were hesitant due to the stiffness rating, I suggest you try it for yourself. I used to be a Hyper-G user, no more. I played for two weeks now, and no arm issues, I also tried Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour, and that definitely plays like a stiff poly. So Solinco Tour Bite 16L it is for me.

Comments: Very good string with outstanding control and spin. I string it low at 48 pounds and it gives a good balance of power at the lower tension and is quite comfortable for me with this setup. I just ordered some more and it will be my new go to string. I think with VS Team in the crosses it would be even better, but probably not too durable, as the gut would fade fast with these strings.

Comments: Very good control and spin on my Pure Drive Roddick 2013. Excellent. A bit more spin than Alu Power. Not a soft string.

Comments: As a nationally ranked and ITF Futures qualies player/6.0 NTRP player, I am very picky about tennis strings. Recently I have tried various strings and one of them was the Solinco Tour Bite. It is a very solid string for its control and spin potential. However, I found it to be in the lower comfort range as it seemed quite stiff. Despite that, I have to appreciate solid durability and power. Worth trying. Similar to HyperG.

Comments: No love in 16L. I will try it in 1.20/17, but I like Tour Bite way better in the same gauge. It's comfortable enough but spin is very average, power is lower than Tour Bite, Cyclone or ALU Power in the same gauge. Ball pocketing is good, plus it has good control. I tried this string in an Ai100 and it was 52.3 lbs off the stringer. I'm going back to Cyclone 17 tomorrow but trying it in 1.20 to see if it's any different. Will also be buying some more Tour Bite in my next order.

Comments: Good string as far as control and spin. However, it feels rather stiff even comparing to my usual Luxilon Original. I felt some tenderness in my elbow after one hour of training, something I usually don't experience with softer polys. I saw that some other customers compare it to Luxilon Alu Rough, but to me it reminds me of stiffer strings, like Babolat Pro Hurricane or Tecnifibre Red Code.

Comments: Tried this on the Technifibre t-fight 305 at 55 lbs and what I like about these Tour Bite strings is that you get an excellent trade-off for power, control, and spin. Moreover, these strings are proving to be durable and are holding tension well even after about 15 hours of use.

Comments: Good string. Contender with my favaorite: MSV Focus Hex. I tried 1.25 mm (16L) strung at 55/58 lbs. Crisp, controlled, pop, decent power but not too much so you can take full swings. My only gripe was that the 16L gauge felt heavy and took some getting used to. I will try a thinner gauge next time. Well worth a try if you like the synthetic strings. Don't know how well tension will hold, yet.

Comments: I've tried all the top rated strings. This one gives the MOST controlled power out of any other string on the market today! So much more control than Luxilon ALU, and the power is there too! Get it, string it low (52 lbs or so), and you will love it. I have it on my Wilson K-90, and 95 at 46lbs. Perfection! The tension lasts forever too. I could place the ball anywhere. The price is decent too.

Comments: I tried this string. To me it gave me nice spin and control on my second match it went dead. It didn't give me power. So I tried an experiment. I put this string on mains and LXN ALU Power on crosses and it was great from Solinco I got the spin and more control and from LXN I got power. I strung it at 53/55.

Comments: Its great! My go to string. Love the easy access to spin and power. I like it evenbetter than Luxilon Alu Power Rough.
From:Mark, 4/12

Comments: If you're looking for a textured poly that gives you excellent spin potential, tension maintenance, durability and comfort (for a poly)... You have to try this string! Plays similar to MSV hex focus but has much better tension maintenance and feels softer in the string bed. After a 2 month play test with multiple racquets, tensions and set ups, this string has become my favorite!
From:Ho, 1/12

Comments: I used this string with Gosen synthetic gut in the crosses. Strung it at 60/62lbs. It played really nice for the first 8 hours then went a little dead. It had great spin and power. One of my top 3 strings so far.
From:Chris, 8/11

Comments: This is the best string I have tried. I tested it next to Luxilon ALU Power and Rough. I have tried many different setups with different strings. This offers and excellent mix of spin, power, tension maintenance, control and feel.
From:Juan, 8/11

Comments: This string is by far the best for major topspin and control. I tried it once and never went back.
