1
- What is Woofer ?
Woofer is an exclusive innovation used in the new
Babolat range of rackets.
2
- Is the Woofer just a bumper ?
No, in addition to be a bumper, the Woofer system
has required a complete change of the frame geometry and an axial
drilling of the holes (in the axle of the strings) to ease the
free movements of the main and cross strings at the time of the
ball impact.
3
- On which rackets is Woofer available?
The VS
and Pure ranges.
4
- Is the stringing tension different on rackets equiped with the
WOOFER system ?
No, but look in the yoke where the optimal tension
is indicated.
When using a natural gut string, the tension can be increased
by up to 1 or 2 kg
(2 or 5 lbs).
5
- How does the Woofer system change in the VS and Pure lines?
The Woofer on the VS range is more sofisticated
than the one used on the Pure range in order not to alter the
good feeling of these rackets played by better players.
The Woofer on the VS range provides both performance and comfort
to players who enjoy tennis on a regular basis.
6
- Does the Woofer system affect feeling ?
Yes. The Woofer provides a different feeling due
to the free stringing system :
- Longer contact time,
- Greater power thanks to increased trempoline effect of the stringing
bed.
During the ball impact, the sound is muffled.
7
- Do all BABOLAT rackets have the same stringing pattern ?
The new stringing pattern for Babolat rackets is
composed of 16 mains but with a density of 18 mains in the centre
of the racket (sweetspot).
