An update for 2010 is the shoe choice of Serena Williams, the Air Max Mirabella II. The Max Air unit in the heel provides for long lasting cushion and a slightly elevated ride. With this update, the Mirabella maintains a lower profile in the forefoot but offers a more generous fit in the toe box. The perforations in the toe box and mesh in the tongue provide ventilation. Extra sheen is added to the upper for a feminine touch. The TPU shank provides ample lateral stability for more aggressive players on the court. The second generation of the Mirabella was designed for the competitive power player looking for a more accommodating forefoot fit, comfort, and durability.
