John McEnroe's racquet of choice, the Biomimetic Max 200G blends old school style with modern performance. With cues to the classic Max 200G incorporated into the cosmetic of this racquet, one would expect it to offer lots of feel and precision on court. From the first swing, this racquet doesn't disappoint. We like the leather grip and found it added to the feel of the racquet. At contact the response feels smooth and clean. The overall feel is a racquet that plays softer than its 65 RA flex. On both topspin and slice shots, spin generation is easy thanks to the maneuverable feel and open 16x19 string pattern. At net the racquet feels fast yet solid. There's enough mass to punch volleys away from the racquet's 11.7 ounce strung weight and 318 swingweight (RDC), yet the 5 points head light balance makes the racquet feel maneuverable. On serve our TW playtesters found solid pace, a comfortable feel and good access to spin. All in all this is a great option for the 4.0+ level player looking to add some feel and touch to their game. Stronger players will find ample room to add weight with lead tape if desired.
