Comments: Great product. Easily applied, plentiful and cheap. Stays in place but allows strings to move a bit. I'm not a big breaker but I like that I could pull my tension up by probably 1-2 pounds by applying those once my original bed starts to soften.

Comments: Very nice gadget. I use them for a full stringbed of natural gut; it definitly improves topspin, and it is very nice not to have to adjust your strings after every point. With natural gut it makes sense to prevent string braekage, since the strings usually break before they loose their playabilitiy. With poly you have to change strings long before they break, anyway. Poly string are more slick, too.

Comments: These string savers are the best of all the others for a different reason -- they are made of Teflon, rather than plastic. They offer reduced string friction of course, but in a less "harsh" way. The Teflon allows the strings to still move some, keeping the spin-attributes of your strings, while still protecting them -- just like "butter" with the Teflon!

Comments: I'm a heavy hitter with topspin, but unfortunately, I can't deal with polyester in the mains. It works well for a few hours, then I completely lose the feel in my shoulder. The only setup that worked for me is the "Champions Choice" with a synthetic gut in the mains and poly in the crosses. Alas in that case the mains get sawed, which is stressful and they break after a few hours. These savers completely saved me! I used to spend about $50 every 2 weeks to string 2 racquets, now the exact same setup has been working perfect for 2 months! And I just checked, the mains are still absolutely intact! No loss in feel and the spin is greater than without. Just string about 4 pounds lower. I am getting a stash of these for years to come.

Comments: Each pack comes with 150+ intersection pieces. I use one pack per three to four racquets. So costs me about 2 to 3 dollars per racquet. I recommend you experiment with your pattern. Double line, single line, every other, 2x every other, etc. The feeling changes with every pattern! You might get more spin, more durability, more control, more bite, more pocketing, or vice versa. So experiment, to see what you like. Don't worry if you make a mistake or want to try another pattern. They are really easy to put on and take off. I use half a wooden clothes pin to push them out, and place them back into the applicator to reuse again.

Comments: I love these Babolat string savers. I'm a chronic string breaker - my strings were sawing off in about 5 nights of practice hitting and I just got tired of the cost of re-stringing. I switched to a hybrid setup of Ashaway Kevlar mains with Babolat Xcel crosses and these string savers. This setup last for almost 4 months of hard hitting and the first thing to wear out wasn't the Xcel crosses like you might expect, it was the Kevlar mains. The outer woven material finally was ground away. I've restrung with this setup a half dozen times and get the same results every time. I string the mains at 50 lbs with crosses at 53.

Comments: You might not need string savers for polyester strings since they don't really move that much during the game. I would definitely recommend this for other synthetic strings. With this string saver installed, the strings don't move and you can hit much more consistent shots with better spin and less errors. I would also recommend hitting the wall for 15-30 minutes before installing these. That way the tensions of your freshly strung strings will even out better throughout your racquet. Once you install the savers, the tensions in your strings might not even out well during the play since the strings would not move much with savers installed.

Comments: They can at least double my string life. I used natural gut on the cross and Luxilon Power Rough on the main (Wilson Champion's choice). It can effectively prevent the Luxilon cutting through the gut over time. It is very easy to put them on. You need to loosen down the tensions by 1-2 pounds as those string savers cause the tension to go up a little up. Otherwise, you will feel a little "stiff" at the beginning. If you adjust down the tensions by 1-2 pounds, you will not feel the difference at all. This is a very nice product.

Comments: I am so happy with this product. It saves my Babolat VS 15 (full bed) for 2 months(2-3 times a week) and I guess it will go strong for a long time. They make the main strings slide nicely without the cross strings cutting into the mains. If you use Babolat Natural guts, it's really worth the money. People who have negative feelings, I am sure they do not know how this works and how to apply. Here is my tip: using 50-70 crosses will tighten up the tension around 4 lbs. I use this amount of crosses mostly top half of the sweet spot, where the guts break most. Make sure you lower the string tension prior for the savers than it used to be. My only gripe is it's bit expensive and Babolat could provide the savers refills at low enough price.

Comments: These things are great if you like polyester as well. The half-millimeter or so of separation that these things provide added about an extra 10-15% of spin production in my conventional non shaped/non textured full bed of co-poly. They definitely also provide a little more power to your game. I recommend doing every other cross section if you want maximum spin production.

Comments: These things really help. I break strings almost every week, and with them, they last at least two weeks (Like they say, it lasts 50% longer or something like that). AS for performance, they might be a little stiffer, but it pretty much hits the same. And tip: dont waste your well-earned money on the cheaper savers, they'll take an hour to install, but these are easy and have a well-designed dispenser. Although if you dont want to waste more money and feel like reusing them after strings do break, that will take up some time, and you might need tweezers if you want to get them back into the dispenser.

Comments: I had been using Babolat vs 16 in a K6.1 with 16 mains originally strung at 62 lbs, but as the tension dropped slowly over a period of two and a half months, I started to experience unpleasant string movement between points. Enter Babolat string saver locks. The Gamma ones are crap, honestly. The Babolat locks, put in the sweet spot and in select spots on the outside of the sweet spot made the natural gut feel fresh, crisp and firm again and the strings lasted another month, playing hard hitting Texan tennis. Go for these string savers IF you're a gut man/woman. No need for these if you use poly, that'd just destroy your elbow.

Comments: I just tried these out on a freshly strung racket and I have to say I had a bad experience with them - the racket was much stiffer and the strings became very "twangy" when I hit the ball. Comments: I've been using these string savers for almost 3 years now, and I have to say that they are my favorite. They do what they're supposed to do very well (extend the life of the string and save you lots of money ... especially if you play with 100% natural gut as I do). They're a snap to install, as opposed to other designs. What I don't understand is why some people use string savers for the whole surface of the racquet. String savers are only supposed to be used in those spots where the string is fraying too much; and if you only need it in 3-4-5 places on your racquet, then that's all you need, don't just put it all over the face of your racquet.

Comments: These are really awful. I started from the top down, assuming there would be enough to do my whole racquet. WRONG, after I realized this I took them all off, getting snapped in the face more than a few times, and ended up WITHOUT enough to even do my sweet spot since you can't re-use them unless your a brain surgeon. I struggled to get the few off that I had in place, and threw the whole lot of it in the trash. Very poor, un-friendly design, not worth the price, and definitely not worth the mental agony, regardless of whether they do their job or not. If you do end up trying them out, I would recommend doing the sweet spot from the get-go.

Comments: These savers definitely do the job. I'm a heavy top-spin/kick serve player and I find I barely have to move my mains back into position during an entire singles match. The only drawback, or maybe what I need to figure out, is that the savers seem to stiffen my racquets and I probably need to take a couple of pounds out of my normal stringing tension. Anyone else find this? Other than that, no effect on playability for me, which was a good thing. Like I said, once I drop the tension a couple pounds, this is going to be sweet.

Comments: Boy do these things protect from the strings breaking! But (and there's always a but) they reduce friction of the strings rubbing together. What that did for me is when I hit with topspin, the strings move with the ball and greatly reduce the amount of spin instead of having the "bite" needed to spin the ball. Great for increasing string life, not for spin.

Comments: These string savers are very easy to apply compared to other brands with the "tree" design. I finished a racquet in about 60 seconds. It really feels like my multifilament strings are unbreakable, since they don't snap in the first place and now they don't fray. Incredible durability from normally fragile strings. From my experience, there is no effect on playability or feel, for better or worse.

I used a lot, because I am a heavy topspin and slice person, and I go trough strings quick but I cannot leave multi's. So I decided to get these string savers and I loved them a lot. Comments: My experience with these has been somewhat different than other people. I am a 4.5 level baseliner using 16 gauge strings. I break strings like crazy and used Babolat for a long time. But after a careful analysis I realized they were not helping my string last longer a single bit. Recently I tried Gamma Deluxe String Saver and they were much, much better. They are thicker and the strings last *vastly* longer and produce a lot of spin as well. I would strongly recommend them instead.

Comments: I am a 5.0 former collegiate player. These things save me as much time as money. I use a hybrid 17 gauge gut and 17 gauge Tecnifibre in my racquets. My strings last two or three times longer, saving me stringing time and money - both of which I need more of. These allow me to use gut string at about the same cost as synthetic, if you factor in stringing frequency.These string savers in combination with the gut string allow the gut to stretch and return to position with little wear. I hit the ball very hard and have long, grueling 2 1/2 hour practice sessions. This allows me up to five sessions before the strings finally break, believe it or not.
